29: because i'm with you
"What are your guy's plans for today?" Felix asked cheerily as he came out of his room downstairs to eat breakfast with the rest.
"Hyunjin and I planned on walking around Santorini before our dinner reservations, which is at 6 by the way," Seoyun reminded them.
"Jisung and I arranged a wine tasting tour that was originally for three," Minho said.
"Can I come too?" Changbin slightly raised his hand.
"Sure! Why not," Minho said with a smile.
"Want to come with me to the historic museum? Some company would be nice rather than going alone," Seungmin asked Felix who was slowly getting sadder after he heard each person had plans already except him.
"What time do we leave?" Felix asked with hope in his eyes.
"As soon as we finish getting ready," Seungmin pulled the seat next to him for Felix to eat breakfast.
"I'll hurry then," he said then sat on the seat Seungmin pulled for him.
"The driver will come to get us by 5:40, be ready by then," she said as she collected the empty plates to take to the sink.
"I'll wash since you made us breakfast," Hyunjin followed behind her then pulled her into a back hug as she set the dishes in the sink.
"I helped too, can I get a hug?" Jisung stretched his arms out. Hyunjin gave him a disgusted look but continued to hug Seoyun who hadn't spared them a glance.
"I'll leave this to you then, meet me in my room once you've finished getting ready," she said while she slipped out of his grasp. "Thank you for washing," she kissed his neck then left to take a shower.
"I didn't come here to feel like a third wheel, please keep those behind closed doors," Seungmin said as he took a sip of his coffee.
"No! My room is right next to hers I'd rather not listen to them get some while I'm getting nothing this New Year's," Minho argued.
"I don't like the very idea of my cousin getting anything while I'm under the same roof," Felix said.
"We're not doing anything!" Hyunjin said angrily to stop the talk about his sex-life.
"Well then that's just a little sad," Jisung said as he leaned on palm sympathetically.
"I would say something, but it's not my business," Changbin spoke up then loudly sipped his coffee.
"Well now it's our business, tell us," Minho turned to Changbin with sparkling eyes that were hungry for gossip.
"Walls are thin in Bora Bora," Changbin smirked against his cup.
"I shouldn't have believed him when he said those were bug bites," Minho said, referring to his poorly hid hickeys.
"I'm finished here, you guys can wash your own dishes," Hyunjin wiped his hands dry then left angrily.
"Don't be upset! It happens to even the best of us, consider yourself one of the lucky ones," Changbin shouted out.
"Stop talking about it!" Hyunjin responded as he ran up the stairs to his room faster.
"What a cute kid," Minho said.
After an hour, Hyunjin knocked on her door and opened once he heard the hum of her voice from behind the door. "I'm coming in," he said.
"I'm just about done here then we can go," she said as she clipped the back of her last earring.
"I know I don't say it much, but I think you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen," he said as he walked over to her and cupped her cheeks into his hands.
"I like the fact that you don't say it much, it feels more special that way," she tiptoed to land a soft kiss on his forehead.
He giggled softly before engulfing her into a hug, "that was too much, wasn't it? Even I cringed when I said it."
"Good thing we both agree, I cringed too but I appreciate the thought," she looked up at him, "let's go?" She asked then pulled away but kept one hand held to his, he nodded as an answer. The two quickly left the house while saying goodbye to whoever they passed by to get to the door. They based their day on spontaneous decisions; there was no correct turn to take or specific sight to see, all that really mattered to them was the fact that they were together, alone.
"Maybe Greece during winter wasn't such a good idea," she said as a cold gust of wind greeted them the moment they stepped out the door.
"Let's come again in the summer where the weather would be better," he laughed as he pulled his scarf to cover his nose.
"Just the two of us or with the guys as well?" She asked as they began to walk around the streets of Oia, Santorini.
"I think the two of us can enjoy it without the guys," he smiled and tightened his grip on her fingers happily.
For the rest of the day, they took plenty of pictures together, tried some food at a local restaurant, and shopped around in their humble markets.
"I've always wanted to come to Greece, I don't know why I never went here," she said as she leaned on the white walls to watch the water splash against the beach.
"Maybe you just had to find the right opportunity to come," he leaned next to her.
"I had to come here with you to truly enjoy my time, the old me wouldn't have had as much fun as I did today," she smiled to herself.
"Why wouldn't she?" He asked.
"Because she wouldn't have you with her," she stated which left him silent for a second. "My friends back then wouldn't understand the beauty and tranquility that Greece held, we most likely would have just partied at Mykonos and get drunk. If that was the case I would have forever regretted coming to Greece," her faced changed to a solemn look as she clasped her hands tightly.
"Well I'm glad you got to enjoy it sober," he held her tightened hands into his, softening immediately upon his touch.
"You don't know I used to drink, I never told you that about me," she turned to him, he was just smiling at her.
"You don't have to explain to me your entire past now, we're here to celebrate our future. It's not like anything you say would change how I feel about you now," he took his hand then placed it on her cold cheek.
"We should head back so we can get ready for the dinner," she leaned into his touch, he was so warm.
"I knew you would say that," he said then took his arm from her cheek then wrapped it around her shoulders, "I enjoyed our time alone while it lasted, we should do this more often."
"We'll have plenty of time to have for ourselves, we're only 19."
"You're right we are only 19," he laughed to himself, he had the rest of his life to spend with her.
Dinner was held at an expensive restaurant called Lauda, a three-star Michelin restaurant that held the most amazing view of Oia. Jisung, Minho, and Changbin showed obvious signs of alcohol as a red tint covered their face from the combination of wine they had before, during, and after the dinner. Seungmin and Felix talked about how fun their day went as they explored greek artifacts and took pictures of themselves at the art museum they visited during the dinner.
The night slowly started to fade into the New Year, all but Seoyun had wine in their hands as they looked out the view while the count down begun. Seoyun and Hyunjin took warmth in each other's arms. Her head rested on his chest, listening to his heartbeat in comfort against his suit while he ran circles on her lower back with his fingers.
"5! 4!" The whole town began to shout, their voices could be heard front the top where they ate.
"I'm glad I met you, thank you," she looked him in the eyes as the clock slowly ticked down.
"3! 2!"
"I am too, thank you," he rested his forehead against hers.
"1!" She pulls his jaw down closer to her, savoring his lips in a kiss, the familiar tinge of leftover wine tickled her tongue which made the whole kiss taste sweeter as he pulled her into him by the waist, only to let go after a few seconds to watch the display of fireworks.
