Sage's P.O.V.

I went to bed that night feeling content for the first time since the day Jack G and I stopped talking. I expected tonight to be a good night to sleep, considering Jack and I were finally friends again, but no. I couldn't sleep. I was too busy thinking about my mom's reaction to us being friends again.

Jack G and I raced downstairs, laughing like old times, and to be honest, it seemed like nothing had changed.

We arrived to the kitchen and we got looks from both Jack J and my mom. "So, how did your little talk go?" Jack asked teasingly.

I sat down at the dining room table next to him and smacked him. "Oh my god, I swear to Satan that I hate you so much." I'm in such a good mood, I can't be mad at him.

Jack J looked at Jack G and wiggled his eyebrows. Jack G gave a short sideways wave with his hand as if to say, not now.

I gazed at them both confused. What is up with the pair of them?

My mom sat down in front of me and passed me the corn. "So, what's new?" she asked, as if she expected something to be up.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. "Umm, we're friends again?" I tried to state, but it came out as more of a question.

My mom looked surprised. "Just friends?" she checked.

I awkwardly laughed as I shot her a warning look. "Umm, yeah, we're best friends again, my bad."

My mom uncomfortably played with her food. "Yeah, that's what I meant..." she mumbled.

I glared at her. She better not ruin this.

I was pulled back out of my thoughts as I heard movement in the guest room beside me. I decided to turn on my lamp as I heard the guest door open.

I heard a knock on my door, and a second later, Jack G came in my room with a small, but cute smile on his face. Dammit Sage, stop it, he'll never like you back.

"Can't sleep either?" he asked.

I nodded and patted the bed beside me. "Come cuddle." I demanded of him.

Jack quietly laughed and came around the bed, turning off the lamp and sliding into bed with me. He pulled me to his chest, which surprised me, but I was quite happy in that position. I smiled and shuffled closer to his body, if that were possible. "I've missed you so much Jack," I mumbled into his tank top. "I know I said I hated you, but I lied. I never did hate you."

I could picture Jack's beautiful smile looking down on me. "Sh, just go to sleep Sage." he whispered.

I smiled and got comfortable, letting myself finally drift off into sleep.

Jack G's P.O.V.

I could have cried as soon as she forgave me. The only thing I'm upset about is that I didn't tell her that I love her. I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of my mouth. I missed her as more than a friend, I want to be more!

I gazed down at a sleeping Sage. She's so beautiful. I just have to do this.

I gently pressed my lips against hers, almost willing her to be awake and to kiss me back.

But I knew that would never happen.
