Poem #3
A mirror shows you nothing
Glass can only see skin-deep
They tell you far off, selfish tales
That minds, in ignorance, keep
We walk about, most everyday
With glass set in our eyes
And so we see, with our short views
Only those remembered lies
So when looking in a mirror
Always keep this in your mind
The glass we use to look with
Cannot see behind
So in order to see beauty
In order to see grace
We cannot use our shallow eyes
Though it may seem out of place
Instead you should look with your heart
And your gaze will be more true
For looking with the heart will show
What really makes you, you.
For it's not what glass may say it is
What they say that you should 'be'
For when looking through your heart's true eye
You can declare, 'I love being me!'
