Chapter 19: God Complexing
"This club is so lonely without Owen what the fuck. I literally hated him." Linda said and took a sip from her flash. Her drinking problem had gotten increasingly worse.
"I know it's horrible though. He was a fraud but I definitely don't think he deserved death. Like I made jokes and told him to "go die" but I didn't mean it!" Scarlett responded and about this time Aubrey promptly swung open the door like she was God.
"I'm not sure what you are talking about, but I'll have you know that it is time to discuss books." Aubrey stated and sat in her chair like she was sitting on a throne.
"You're being extra Aquarius today, what's up with you?" Courtney asked and Aubrey scoffed.
"This idiot man I used to be good friends with messaged me asking if I was don't to fuck. I was like I am literally fucking married! He says and why does that matter? Anyways I told him right the fuck off." Aubrey smiled sweetly and everyone chuckled.
"What was his sign?" Asha asked curiously, wanting to know who dared talk to her wife.
"A fucking Scorpio! Like I'd ever! Especially a man!" Aubrey said and made a barf face and sound. She watched Scarlett get a bit defensive.
"That's hurtful! I'll have you know I'm great in bed!" She said loudly and aggressively.
"Yeah you are." Lori said seductively and winked.
"Where does he live? I just want to talk." Asha said with a sweet smile and batted her eyes at Aubrey.
"Just want to talk really? Seems soft for you, cause I'd want to kill him too it's okay." Aubrey chuckled.
"Fine yes! I want to kill him, but I wouldn't because I work for the FBI! So in that case I would simply just rough him up a bit." Asha said and rolled her eyes.
"I'll text you his address later. Now what books did we get this week?" Aubrey asked and everyone looked at each other.
"We...didn't. We've just been torn up about poor Owen, I took in his dog she's cute at least." Courtney said and Asha rolled her eyes.
"Well good thing I brought one! It's called The Royal Ring by Hannah Willow! It's a lesbian romance and I very much loved it!" Aubrey said with a smile holding up her book.
"That's good, is it on Amazon? I'll get it to make it up to you." Asha said then coughed and glared at her friends, who all said something in agreement.
"It is, it's on Kindle vella, Kindle, and Paperback!" Aubrey said and watched as everyone went on their phones to select the book in their formats.
"Oh! Aubrey, tell them about the other day when you went to work, but your horoscope said not to." Asha said with a chuckle and Aubrey rolled her eyes.
"Oh my God! It literally told me not to go! But I like money so I went! Then I got a cold! That went away the next day! It was weird and made no sense! However, I regret not listening!" Aubrey said, totally annoyed by that whole situation.
"Damn dude, maybe you should listen to your horoscopes!" Stacey laughed hysterically.
"Stacey you don't even read your horoscopes." Aubrey said and raised an eyebrow at her.
"Well Courtney doesn't read hers either!" Stacey challenged her.
"Don't drag me into this, we all know I don't really believe in this shit." Courtney said with an eye roll.
"Really now? Because you are the typical Capricorn." Aubrey said and Courtney rolled her eyes.
"How am I typical?" She asked and Aubrey chuckled.
"First off, Capricorn's favorite phrases are "I don't believe in that shit." You are a narcissist, but you are very focused and like work, however, you are very pushy and like everything your way, but you are also down to earth and friendly if you meet the right person you can connect to. Also your last name is literally Capricorn. Typical." Aubrey described Courtney's full personality and she was taken aback.
"Jesus, you didn't have to throw it in my face like that Aubrey. At least I don't have a God complex!" Courtney said back and Aubrey chuckled.
"Please bitch, it's not a complex! I literally am God, fuck off. Mic drop, meeting dismissed." Aubrey strutted out of the room and the group grumbled in annoyance.
