Chapter 59
I then remembered something as I turned to my mom, "Do you think he's getting the Tenor Sax, since Bradshaw wants me to play that?"
My mom's face changed to a surprised face, "That's right. I forgot about that."
I giggled a bit, "I forgot too."
The guy came back a few minutes later with a Saxophone case.
My mom felt bad though spoke up anyways, "Is that ok if you bring the Tenor Saxophone? My daughter's teacher had assigned her to that instrument."
He wasn't angry at all as he smiled, nodding, "Ya, sure."
"Sorry..."
"No, it's ok. I'll be right back." Then again, he left us three in the room.
He came back a few minutes later with a bigger case. I immediately knew it was the Tenor. I was excited and nervous at the same time to try it out.
We watched him as he opened the case up to reveal pieces of the Tenor. Which we had to put it together of course.
He got it out and handed it to me. Then he showed me the strap; then looked at me, "Do you know where this goes?"
I had little to know knowledge of how to use a Saxophone. I shook my head no in response, "No."
He showed me where it was. It was about between the Sax. I got the end of the strap, and hooked to the Tenor.
He showed me how to put the mouthpiece on. Which I had to twist it back and forth to put on the cork part, which was on the Tenor.
"You put the reed in your mouth."
I felt too shy asking the guy, so I quietly asked my mom.
"How long do you need to have the reed on your mouth?" The guy didn't hear me anyways, even though I wasn't too quiet.
"Until it's really wet."
I nodded; keeping the reed in my mouth. When it was wet enough; which he had already left, I hooked my reds to the mouthpiece like how the guy showed me, and then tried playing to see if I could get noise out of it.
