prologue

Virtues.
Beings baked and loved by the witches themselves, cookies who were corn to guide the cookiekind to era of peace and harmony, given power and authority through the small gem that they called Soul Jam a powerful magical artifact, created with powerful magic and life powder made by the witches, these Soul Jams made to serve their weilder for only those who are worthy of such power can bear them, it is the 5 virtues themselves.
Volition, Happiness, Change, Solidarity and Knowledge.
They each govern over a specific location around Beast Yeast, where cookies can come to seek them for wishes, blissful needs, change, protection or... Knowledge.
One day the witches created a cookie and gave him a mission, to guard a small sampling that they have planted, for this tree embodies the power of the virtues themselves and could possibly over power them if used correctly, but this cookie must not let the sampling fall to the wrong hands. This cookie was none other then Elder Fearie cookie, the Silver king, when he was first brought into the cookie world, he was given a kingdom and citizens to protect along side the sapling, as he grows to become stronger and wiser, he had travelled across the land to meet the virtues themselves, each welcoming him with open arms, treated him like family as well if you would.
Volition treat him with care and gentleness, teaching him how to solve some simple problems and how to heal others or himself when injured, Change taught him how to stand his ground in the midst of battle, Happiness taught him to know when to rest when needed, Solidarity taught him unity and protection, Knowledge teaches him all that he wishes to know, eventually Elder Fearie returned to become the wise king that he is, protecting the growing sapling and ruling over his kingdom.

But enough about our dear king now shall we? I'm sure we are all curious of the virtues and their relationship to each other, why don't we dig deeper into it?
Flour of volition, she views her friends as equals, those whom she can trust, fellow creations of the witches, their god, when it comes to her thought on her friends, she thinks Change is very optimistic yet very loud, often jumping into action too quickly, for Happiness she thinks her views on true happiness is too closed minded, yet she doesn't feels like she's the right person to tell her what true happiness is, Solidarity is a very respectable cookie among them, taking on responsibility, protecting cookies and very loyal to the witches, he is a very kind gentlemen with a secret soft spot for the weak, Knowledge she worries he is overworking himself, she has heard that cookies close to his Spire has been relying on him alot more than they should, she worries if he's alright.

For Herald of Change he thinks of his friends as comrades but due to how rarely they get to meet each other lately, his thoughts on them are merely based off their short interactions.
Volition in his eyes is too kind, granting cookies so many wishes, he understands it is her duty yet he knows that cookies greed can take advantage of it, he also fears she's too strict sometimes. Happiness he wonders why she thinks being lazy is true happiness, he thinks it's boring and is no fun, where's the happiness in that? Solidarity a respectable cookie, very strong in a fight, he wish they soar more often. Knowledge looks very tired every time they meet yet always try to stay awake until he falls asleep, occasionally floating in the air.

Sugar of Happiness thinks her friends as her family, family that you rarely get to meet, like cousins. Volition in her eyes is sweet and gentle always looking out for their well being but sometimes lectures Happiness that being lazy isn't good for her despite her explaining that being lazy makes her happy. Change is a very kind fellow, loud but very lively, the type of cookie you would chat with at gatherings for fun. Solidarity is very serious and too quiet, she once suggest he gets some rest in her garden yet respectfully refused, she wonders if he ever takes a break. Knowledge, she sees him every now and then always looking very tired yet whenever she offers him to rest on her cotton candy cloud, he kindly refuses, she worries that he's overworking himself too much.

Salt of Solidarity respect his friends for their role and virtues, fellow creations baked by their gods, Volition is truly a kind soul yet her kindness could be used for ill will if not careful, Happiness seems to have her own ideas of joy, is very kind and means well but seems closed minded, Change is a lively cookie yet does he truly understand what it means to change...? Knowledge... He is worried for him, every time they meet, he can always spot dark circles beneath his eyes, yet the fount never wish to speak of it and he had to respect his request.

Knowledge tho he views his friends as family, his opinions on them seems... Not kind. Volition tho it is her duty to grant wishes, it is not a sin to say no to certain wishes, Happiness laziness is not true happiness at all, she merely refuses to leave her comfort zone to see what truly makes normal cookies happy and she will not agree with it, because she believes her way of happiness is the one and only true joy for cookiekind, it's a foolish thought thats very difficult to change. Change, he doesn't truly understand what he's meant to change or how he can change in the Tides of Change, in truth he's slowly falling to his demise. Solidarity... The honourable, respected knight... He is too soft, too kind, that kindness may one day come back to harm him.

In truth the virtues are well acquainted with each other but their not that close... Well except for two...
For the Fount of Knowledge has always been fond of the Salt of Solidarity, finding his company quite enjoyable, he never understood why he quite enjoys the knights company but he never denied it either, at some point they begin to secretly meet each other when given the time and Fount finds himself expressing his joy and playful side to the knight more often even if they do have some quiet moment to themselves, Solidarity did not mind the Founts playful teasing at all, he simply thinks it's how to Fount express himself to those he is familiar with despite the Fount being much more elegant and serious whenever he meets with the others.
Whenever the knight visited, they would often go gaze upon the stars or go on a small walk riding on the back of the knights trusted horse, sometimes they would enjoy the silence or the fount would talk about the stars and the wonder of Knowledge of the world and the knight would listen to every word he say, he was simply captivated by the Fount himself, it was making Solidarity feel something in his crispy heart that he couldn't understand what, yet he couldn't make this feeling go away, eventually Solidarity finds himself explaining his frustration and confusion about these feelings to Elder Fearie during a occasional visit and Elder Fearie was quite speechless that the mighty Salt of Solidarity didn't know his own feelings.

Salt.o.s: what is so funny...?
Elder Fearie: forgive me... I simply was caught off guard... I assumed by your years of living among the cookies would made it obvious what these feelings you are experiencing were.
Salt.o.s: I do not understand what you are saying...
Elder Fearie: my friend, you are in love.
Salt.o.s: in... Love?
Elder Fearie: ah I see, the concept must be very foreign in your eyes... But rest assured it is not a bad thing.
Salt.o.s: but what is... Love?
Elder Fearie: a good question... It's one of the most greatest questions cookie kind has ever face... Not even the witches themselves has the answer... But to me it the bond and yearning of the heart and soul... It what brings two cookies together bound by each other's stories and bond... Love is a complex matter in many cookies eyes.
Salt.o.s: ... Even so, should a knight like me truly feel such a way towards he the Fount? I had always admired his brilliance... That it feels simply that I do not deserve to stand anywhere as close to he...
Elder Fearie: nonsense my friend, you and all the virtues, are equals, you who were chosen by the witches have a purpose, you deserve to stand by his side as much as any other.

Salt of Solidarity was greatful for the kings kind words yet he was very shy to confront these feelings, yet little did he know that such feelings may well be his down fall.
Centuries passed and one day, the Fearie Kingdom received a special visitor, the Fount of Knowledge. He originally came to exchange pleasantries until he decided to have a serious talk to Elder Fearie.

Fount.o.k: my friend, I cannot find a proper way to express what I'm about to say without sounding like a mad cookie, so I must ask you to listen to what I must say.
Elder Fearie: hm? That looks on your face... It is undeniable you have foresaw or predicted something catastrophic... Tell me, what is it?
Fount.o.k: somewhere in the near future, us virtues shall fall from our grace and become corrupted beast. Something that is nothing like our virtues at all... Monstrous villains if you will...
Elder Fearie: what...?! You and the other virtues...? Fount are you sure there is no mistake?
Fount.o.k: no... For I foresee a future where cookiekind walks down a corrupt path, one where greed, repetitive cycles, boldness, foolish faith and cruelty will driven us to our breaking point... Turning us into something that is nothing like us today... Something that will destroy the entirety of beast yeast if nothing is done about it.
Elder Fearie: how do we prevent this...?
Fount.o.k: we don't... There's nothing that can change the cookies from how they act or think... We will all inevitably fall... That's why I want to give you this.
Elder Fearie: ?! A page from the witches spell...? How... How did you get this?
Fount.o.k: I must admit... I was not proud of myself but... I looked into the witches book of spells... And have been trying to recall its contents, among the spells, this one shall seal away corrupt desserts, it's the only way to prevent cookiekind enielation, if you use this with the powers of the Silver Tree, it will trap and bound me and the others to the tree forever, as long as you the guardian stands.
Elder Fearie: no... There has to be another way...
Fount.o.k: I'm sorry my friend. But there is none... If there were... I would've thought of it by now...
Elder Fearie: Fount please... You must figure out another way... You can't just expect me to except to seal all of you away like this...
Fount.o.k: I know... And I'm sorry, but there isn't any other way... The virtues and I... We are incompetent gods... Please... For the sake of cookie kind, use this spell when all of us... Has fallen. You may very well be our only hope...
Elder Fearie: ... ... ... I understand.
Fount.o.k: here, take this letter, it's for Salt of Solidarity, give it to him the next time he visits you.
Elder Fearie: ...? What is it?
Fount.o.k: a message... And... Maybe a attempt to save what is left...
Elder Fearie: I shall hand it to him when he visits...
Fount.o.k: thank you... Farewell Elder Fearie cookie... This may very well be our last meeting...
Elder Fearie: Farewell... My friend.
