You kept true to your words. I didn't hear from you for the whole weekend. Which really disappointed my mom, but made me happy.
I was happy I would be going back to being the lonesome girl that I was before I met you.
I walked to school that Monday with my coat tightly wrapped around my body. I showered the night before and didn't dry my hair because I'm a lazy person. I also didn't close the window that I slept under because I'm a lazy person. And so I was dealing with the consequences like a lazy person usually does.
It was all going well until I let out a sneeze. The sneeze wasn't the problem, it was you looping your arm through mine and telling me that my weekend sounded fun without you.
When I reminded you of our little deal, you said that your literal promise was to not bother me a day after...which you didn't.
I got mad. Livid even. I threatened to slap you with my cane if you didn't leave me alone. But of course, you turned it into a joke. You said I sounded as threatening as your adorable cat whose name was non-existent. Then you started talking about how we were going to eat lunch together in the cafeteria. And that was when I decided to crush your dreams.
I had never stepped foot in that cafeteria, and I wasn't planning to. I don't know how you didn't know at that point, but the kids that went to our school were vicious. The last thing I would've done was go into their territory during the only thirty minutes that I had for myself.
Then again, you just had to have it your way. You made me a deal and a promise. A deal to never follow me to my house, and a promise to not twist your words.
It was dumb of me to accept since you had just done that little trick in the morning, but I did anyway.
I wish I hadn't.
Sure, it was nice at first. We joked around a bit, we ate our lunch and you started describing how the cafeteria looked without me really asking.
Then, it was time to leave since we wanted to work on that history essay we were paired on. Only for Jerk Justin as you called him to trip me on our way out.
Thankfully, I didn't end up falling since you caught me halfway before leading me to an empty chair. I didn't know you that well, otherwise I would've stopped you from basically attacking the guy. He deserved it. I just didn't want to get you in trouble, despite you saying that I was worth it.
Another reason why I should have refused to go in the first place besides the whole Jerk Justin mess was that you didn't keep your promise nor deal.
You said that you couldn't follow me to my house because I lived in an apartment and that you couldn't twist your words because that was physically impossible. And every time I tried to argue with you, you kept saying that we had to get home fast since my sneezing was worrying you.
So I got mad again.
Then you made me feel better when we spent the entire evening playing combat games with you telling me what to do in order to win and talking about how expensive curtains are while eating our third bowl of popcorn.
When you left that night, I realized that no matter how much you were annoying, you were also growing on me.
And honestly, I didn't know what to think of that.
