Doyoung could feel himself stiffen when his husband comes back. Jaehyun does not look happy, not even tensed, just really, really upset.

"Love, what's wrong?", he asked, gently taking the younger's hand into his, "Did Mark act up?"

"Oh...", Jaehyun sighed, slumping down next to him, "Yes he did, he really did..."

"Can you be more positive?"

"He wants Haechan dead"

"What!?", the older is flabbergastered, "Jung Jaehyun, tell me that you did not..."

"Of course I didn't Doie, I don't have it in my heart to hurt Haechan"

"I talked to him for a little, he said that he was in the headspace and attempted to cross boundaries with Mark, he shouldn't have but you know...he has deep feelings for Mark and the boy is mentally unstable so what happened...happened. Your brother got every angry at him and told me to just...get rid of Haechan since he is worthless then. I tucked Haechan in bed, hold him and kissed him goodnight with a promise of protecting him. Poor Haechan, the kid does not deserve to be living in this kind of environment in the first place"

Doyoung taps his cheeks, "I guess both of them are in the wrong. Mark isn't fond of affection and even though he lets Haechan off many more mistakes than others, he would not let him persuade anything more, sexually. However, I also understand that my brother has been weird lately, giving Haechan false hopes so when Haechan slipped, it's really just an 'about time' thing. But at the same time, don't be mad at yourself that Haechan is living here, if he isn't here, he would have been dead years ago. You brought him here, raised and shaped him into 0606 that could fit in this society, Donghyuck would not have survived even if Mark sympathized and let him go that day"

As cruel as the older may come off, Doyoung has never disliked the redhead. Yes, he does think that the boy is a form of distraction to his brother's road to success but at the same time, the man is still one with morals, he has kids and a straight mind.

Haechan is a good kid, he is loving towards members in the pack and especially his two babies. The boy doesn't idolize Mark, he considered him as a father figure of the sort, a toxic kind of love that was created because his brain is fucked up from the start, because of his life's circumstances. Doyoung gets that he can't let Haechan be with his brother unless he wants to either let the younger rots himself to death or takes the fall of the Lee Dynasty.

"Go to sleep first, Jae", he muttered, gently tugs his husband's hand, pressing a gentle kiss on the corner of his lips, "Don't worry, I will help you take care of Haechan"

"No, love, I can't...", Jaehyun shakes his head, "We can't...get rid of him. I considered Haechan as one of my sons, I know that you're not in favor but..."

"Shhhh...", Doyoung cuts him short, "Don't be silly, I will make sure that he will be safe and sound. When we wake up tomorrow, I will make some calls and adjustments for him, does that sounds good?"

"Promise?"; "Of course"

When he makes sure that his husband's breath is steady, he got out of the room and went straight to the master bedroom, pushing the door open without even asking.

There his brother is a wine glass in one hand, staring out of the window, into the dark night.

"If you come here to nag me, leave. Or if Jaehyun begged you to come here to rethink myself, I won't allow that either", Mark says coldly, not even facing him.

Doyoung lets out a mocking laugh. "As if I would let anyone order me to do anything, you're being foul, my dear"

"Then why are you here?"

The older hums, pouring himself a glass of wine and says, "To make fun of you. I know your sour ass would be regretting your decision later but since you're embarrassed with your own self at the moment, you would not admit it"

Mark cocked an eyebrow, "Don't underestimate me, I know what I'm doing", he rolls his eyes, "The longer he stays, the weaker I will become. I don't care if I would feel bad later, our pack should always be the priority"

"Are you sure about that? Dedicating your whole life to become the Queen' underdog and letting go of your personal life?"

"Yes. I will live to serve what our father sacrificed himself for"

Doyoung even has to bite back to laugh, following their father's footsteps would lead Mark to the same end as that man.

"Then I will take Haechan away from your life and even if you beg me then, I would not let him go back into your arms"
