i flinch as i feel a sudden weight on my shoulder, turning my head to find a familiar blonde taking a seat on the edge of my bed.

her lips emit a chuckle as she removes the grip of her hands from my shoulder. "sorry, did i scare you?"

i nod, putting my phone down and leaning my head back towards the headboard, sending a smile her way.

"you were supposed to give me a call when your shift ended" her eyes were glued onto mine, containing a cold expression.

my brows rise up, falling back down with a sigh. i had actually forgotten.

"shit... im sorry, i was just in such a rush all day, you know"

i take hold of her hands, awaiting her to pull back in an aggressive manner, yelling about how i'm not treating her right, the same old routine.

instead, i receive a mere "okay"

it almost feels like a setup, like if i say a certain word or shift in a certain way, it'll lead her to snap.

she seems to take notice to the worry scattered all over my face. her lips form a reassuring smile as she leans her head against my shoulder.

my lips emit another sigh while i place my head on top of hers, taking her soft hands within mine.

"soo..." i try changing the subject, bringing up the first thing that comes to mind. "sadie said we're going to the beach on saturday"

she turned her gaze to me, furrowing her brows. "she didn't tell me that we're going"

i fiddle with my hands, uncertain of what to say next. "well, she didn't mention you..."

rory shoots another glare my way prior to shifting her position. "oh okay. so, im not going then?" her voice starts to increase.

"i didn't say-"

"i know what you said! go out with the pretty actress on your little beach date, i'll be fine"

i let out yet another exasperated sigh as the blonde stomps out of the room.

i grab my phone again, frenetically tapping on the most recently called contact. on instinct, i use my teeth to grasp at my fingernails while the cellular device rings.

after a couple of rings, which felt like a million, a soft voice is audible.

"faye?"

"hi... hi sades"

"what's up? something wrong?"

"no, its just that uhm...
could rory come with us? to the beach?"

the phone call remains silent for a moment before the soothing voice is heard again.

"ofcourse, why not"

"okay, okay thanks"

another momentary silence washes over the call.

"alright, well, i'll see you two saturday then"

i quickly hang up the call.

i know it's not worth it to step out of my room, i'm certain that she's already left. although, i'm really not in the mood for any more of her bickering either.
