𝐱𝐢𝐢𝐢. Remus Lupin fanfiction — unpublished!

HI! AS YOU MAY or may not have read from my previous announcement that I have taken down SUCK IT AND SEE aka SIAS.

My reason is not only the lack of feedback, interaction, votes, etc. It really is a bit disheartening, and maybe I lost motivation for the fic for the time being. That's why I put the fic on hold at least three times since I published it. But I was always going to bring it back and continue writing it, as I don't discontinue fics!

I already had Act Two finished and was only up for beta reading.

But my last straw was J.K. Rowling.

I'm all for respecting different opinions, but when it comes to basic human rights, that's where I draw the line. We can't just "agree to disagree" on things like fairness and equality. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of race, gender, or ethnicity.

J.K. Rowling has repeatedly pushed views that harm the LGBTQ+ community. She even helped fund a court case in the UK that legally defines trans women as not women. (https://www.thepinknews.com/2024/02/19/jk-rowling-for-women-scotland-donation-legal-definition-woman/)

This is what happens when we continue to support books and media from problematic authors. If you want to make a stand, stop buying their books, merch, or anything from the Harry Potter website. Every purchase helps fund harmful ideas and allows them to spread those views.

And I am heart broken that she continues to being these harmful mentally and behavior to a community or to a fandom who's queer ships continues to bring her books alive and significant.

I won't be excusing her behavior just because I love the books she wrote that comforted me during tough times, because her beliefs are harmful to ME as someone who is part of the LGBTQ + community.

SIAS will be back—I don't know when. The Woven Hexes Series is still alive. I won't throw away the entire universe that I created with love and with OCs that have moral compasses. But for now, I will unpublish the series' first book and write it offline.
