"But miss Courtney please I didn't-" "I do Believe it is getting rather late." The brunette princess snapped at the soldier with a five tattooed to his skin on the side of his head. "And so I bid you Goodnight, Fives." Fives sighed as he looked at the woman. "You just aren't going to listen to me, are you?" "Not tonight." She countered and Fives sighed. Women he could handle, but difficult women were a whole different story. He figured it was best to just give it a rest, even if he was right. "Alright." He finally replied as he took one of her small hands in his and leaned down to press a soft kiss to her fingers. "Then Goodnight princess Courtney." He said and Courtney tried not to let the blush on her cheeks show. "Yes, Goodnight then."
"Alright alright!" Caroline began as she entered the large shared room with all the girls who had been getting ready for the nights rest. "Father said to bed with us as soon as possible. We have a busy day tomorrow." She added and a multitude of giggles could be heard from around the room. "The banquet is tomorrow!" Charolette shouted. "At this time tomorrow we shall be engaged women!" Caydence added. Calypso's eyes widened at the words. Banquet? Engaged? She had completely forgotten of this. What would she tell Kix? More importantly, what would she tell herself. She had grown rather fond of the clone in a way she was certain she wouldn't be able to be for anyone else. She had never met anyone else who understood her communication with her hands on the dot. Sure her family did, but that's because they had to learn it for her. Kix just knew. And she adored it about him. Not to mention he had saved her life. She felt herself falling for the clone, which she knew would only end poorly. But Calypso didn't care. When did she ever follow the rules anyways? "I just cannot wait to see the beautiful ring the princes of Agamar brings for me tomorrow!" Carissa shouted as she flaunted her ring finger around to the other girls, pretending that there was a ring on it. Cordelia rolled her eyes. "Please, mine will be much more elegant." "Oh is that so?" Carissa snapped and Cordelia nodded. "Girls!" Caroline shouted once more causing the girls to snap their faces to see her, yellow pale night gown and golden curls falling down to the small of her back. "Please," she added. "We must all rest for there is a lot to do tomorrow in preparation. There were several groans from the girls as they all headed to their respective beds. "Now Goodnight to you all." Caroline said before blowing out the candle that illuminated the room. "Goodnight." The girls all chorused in response. Except for Calypso who laid on her side in her soft bed, looking out the window at the night sky, waiting for her sisters to be asleep so she could sneak away to the garden once more.
When the sound of idle chatter slowed and the sound of soft snores could be heard, Calypso knew it was time for her to make her escape. She carefully rose from her bed and slipped on a pair of shoes before wrapping a house coat around her, keeping her warm from the crisp night air. She walked carefully towards the door of the room, grabbing a candle in the process. "Calypso?" The young princess froze. She turned to see Caroline staring at her. Her movements must have awoken her. "What are you doing?" Caroline asked. "Going for a walk. Cant sleep." Calypso signed back. Caroline gave her a skeptical look. Caroline was like a mom, she always knew when one of the girls was lying. "Go see him." Caroline finally replied. Calypso couldn't hide the shock that spread across her face. "It's your last night as a single woman, go see him. And make it worth your time." Calypso didn't understand her sister's sudden compassion but she didn't waste it. She nodded at the eldest before her striking a match and lighting the candle in her hands and slipping out the door to the long dark corridor of the palace.
"Princess Calypso." Kix greeted the woman with a faint smile as she entered the garden. The mute princess offered him a small smile before joining him quickly. "I have something I must tell you." She signed to him in the pale moonlight of the night. Kix's expression became concerned as he looked down at her. He gently reached out and held her, arms length from him as his eyes met her blue irises, which glistened a silver color in the light of the moon. "Tomorrow at the banquet," she began, signing careful with her small fingers, "I am to be engaged to a man I barely know." As the words formed from her dainty fingers Kix couldn't hide the growing shock in his face. "What?" He uttered in reply to her news. She nodded, her head hung low from the shame of her message to him. "I'm so sorry K-I-X." She replied, pressing her fingers against the palm of his hand as she signed each letter of his name. "Don't be sorry." He replied, his voice was soft like silk and gloved fingers carefully moved across her face to brush away a few stray strands of golden hair. "It's out of your control." He added and the poor princess looked as if she might cry. "By the unfortunate work of the fates, it seems I have fallen for you, K-I-X." The princess signed to him. Kix grinned softly at her. He moved his hands to cup her face and gently raise her chin so that she was looking up at the face of the clone medic for the 501st. "I believe that the falling has gone both ways." He said and Calypso smiled at his words. There was a twinkle in her eyes and a thin blush began to dust across her cheeks. "Calypso," he said softly. "There's something about you." He said, his voice had become much lower now then before. "You are perfectly mute, not a word escapes your perfect lips." She looked away bashfully, fully flattered by the man who held her, "yet your heart sings. And it sings the most beautiful sound I've ever heard." Kix just couldn't help himself. He leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. His lips were warm on her skin and the feeling made her close her eyes for a mere moment. She looked up at him and for a brief second she wasn't a princess and he wasn't a clone. They were just two people who's streams of life had become hopelessly entangled. Calypso's mind shifted to tomorrow. This was her last night of marital freedom, not bound to any man. So she did the one impulsive thing She could think of to celebrate it. She lifted herself up onto her tip toes and wrapped her arms around his neck as she effortlessly moved to brush her lips against his. Kix was surprised by her movements at first but was quick to reciprocate, carefully moving his hands to grip her waist, and letting his lips work seamlessly against hers. Their kiss was perfect, as if it were an embrace that was meant to happen. It just made sense, like a puzzle piece finding its perfect place. It was true harmony.
