he rolled up his sleeve and went to grab a can of coke from the cooler but was beaten to it.

"Miss me?"

it had been a week since he last saw her, she was hanging out with guy that made his blood boil with jealousy.

"Yes."

he hadn't meant to be honest but he didn't regret it either. she looked up at him and for the first time, she was taken back with surprise.

"Really?"

there was a brief pause, that's when he noticed the bruises on her neck. he took a step forward but she took step back, that wasn't usually how she acted.

"What happened?"

"Nothing."

he reached out but she flinched, the confidence she once had was lost in her eyes.

"Tell me."

"If I tell you, you have to date me."

she teased, hoping he'd let it slide

"Fine, let's date then."
