"ALRIGHT, class, quiet down" the teacher shouted through the now quiet classroom after her sudden outburst.

eliza bit back a laugh, noticing the reddened face of her teacher, who looked like they we're about to burst into flames from anger.

"this is your last week to finish the partnered science project. so, if you've been slacking, or needing to add finishing touches, i suggest this is the week to do it. for the rest of my class area, i'll have you all go free to the schools library to study"

"but, reminder that there will be teachers guarding the doors, so no funny business" the teacher glared, pointing at the teenagers who had smirking faces.

eliza's gaze had slowly turned over to charlie, who was looking down at his desk, in deep thought. she wondered what he possibly could be imagining, but didn't let that distract her.

she was quick to go back to her work, not paying attention to the conway boy in his deep thought. nerves had just began to rack inside her, scenarios of what could happen at the next study session going through her brain.

she was thankful her father hadn't asked who her science partner is, or even adam. the two had stayed silent about it, but they couldn't help but wonder who was taking up her time the last week.

she was extremely happy she had no teammates in her class, either. it would only cause trouble if she did.

she herself knew that she had no control over who her partner was, but knew that the boys and her father would beat around the bush at that, and find something to blame her for this unfortunate pairing.

the day had gradually came to an end, leaving eliza to her room alone, with the faint sound of green day playing in the background. she hummed along to the music, drumming her wooden pencil on the sheet of math homework she was facing.

her father was out on a work meeting, meaning he'd probably be going out with his co-workers after, as he always did. while adam was in his own room, getting himself ready to go out with their teammates.

they had invited eliza along, but she denied, wanting to stay in for the night.

skyler and rick were out, apparently catching up with some of skylers old friends from his highschool that he hadn't seen in two years.

a faint knock came from her door, causing her to turn her head up to see adam, pocking his head in. "hey, just wanted to let you know i'm leaving. dad left out money if you wanna order some food. i'll be back around eleven" adam shrugged, smiling at his sister as she returned a subtle nod, waving him bye.

"don't have any boys over" he pointed, narrowing her eyes at her. she huffed, giving him an eye roll. it was a compliment, really, him assuming that guys were actually interested in coming over to see her.

it didn't matter if eliza was truly beautiful, she herself didn't see it. she was too blinded by the perfect models on magazines to realize her own worth.

she hadn't noticed adam had actually left her room until the sound of a door shutting erupted through the home from downstairs.

a sigh left eliza's lips, falling back onto her bed and curling up in the soft, strawberry sheets her mother bought her when she was nine. she hadn't gotten right off them since, being that it was a gift from her mother, and they were quite comfortable.

she hadn't noticed how tired she was until she hit the pillows, eyelids becoming heavy. a yawn escaped her, letting herself drift off into a slumber she would hope to last forever.

it only lasted 30 minutes.

the loud banging of her white front door was heard from downstairs, making her shoot up from the bed, heart racing from the sudden noise.

a groan was heard from her, as she stumbled down the steps, moving over to the door. her eyes were still blurry from just waking up, but from the sight of the person who erupted her from her sleep, she automatically knew who it was.

"hey, banksie"

she threw her head back, rolling it over to the side. "go away, conway" she growled at the overly-perky boy, who was grinning ear to ear.

he gave her a narrowed look, before shoving himself into her home. "come on in" she murmured, waving a hand out as she followed him god knows where.

"anyone home?"

"no. otherwise, you'd already be dead" she smiled, sitting next to him on the couch. he let out a sarcastic laugh, throwing his books on the wooden coffee table.

"nice place you got here, banks. i should come here more often"

"no, you really shouldn't" she spat, glaring at the boy.

he sent her a similar look to her face, inspecting the homes kitchen. she let out a heavy sigh, worry building up in her, thinking about the fact her brothers or father, could walk in at any moment and see the twins rival sitting on their couch.

she swiftly picked up his items, calling him to follow her up the stairs. he had smirked at this, eliza taking notice of his horrid cocky attitude that he always brought along with him.

he followed her like a lost puppy into her own room, his green eyes taking a immediate look at her strawberry sheets.

"nice room, strawberry shortcake" he quipped, sitting on the soft bedding. she sent him a look, throwing his books down along beside him, as she walked over to her lighter collection.

he watched her movements closely. she was lighting the candle of what seemed to be a fall themed candle, that smelled of pumpkin, and cinnamon.

no wonder she always smelt so nice,

he had thought, taking a quick realization that he shouldn't be noticing the smell he adored so much, was her.

he mentally face-palmed, pinching himself to get out of the frenzy that was elizabeth banks.

"stop staring" he heard, a small smile coming onto his face just from the sound of her faint voice.

"sorry. i just enjoy staring at blonde, brown eyed, candle loving, hockey girls" he flirted, lifting himself up and off her bed, to lean against her cream coloured wall.

"flattery will get you nowhere, conway" she quipped, a smile of her own coming onto her face.

it shocked him, really. noticing how himself can make the girl smile, so easily.

maybe it was in his head, he thought many times.

or maybe, it was true. maybe he truly could make elizabeth smile. he never thought that'd be enough satisfaction for him, but it is.

he decided it was time to stop focusing on her, as he started to feel like some type of creep. he focused on something else, her music, was what got his attention.

"green day? you listen to green day, banksie?" smirked charlie, who had walked over to the old record player she owned, that was sitting on her white dresser.

she only let out a hum, sitting herself down onto her bed.

"so, conway, what brings you here on a monday night?"

"thought we could work on our science project homework. otherwise, ms. leery will beat our ass" he mumbled, throwing himself onto the bed beside her.

she let out a low laugh, nodding at the boy. she slowly started to get up, only for him to pull her back down.

"i'll get your books, don't worry. where are they?"

this shocked her, to say the least. who would have thought charlie would ever offer his help to her. she only gave him a silent response, pointing over to the book bag that was nestled on the ground.

he nodded, going over to the bag and carrying out her books, settling himself and the items down beside her.

the two had studied for at least two and a half hours, getting lost with time. the whole study process was filled mostly with charlie sending her glances, that turned into long stares as she would focus on silently reading her book, moving her plump lips along with the words.

he didn't mean to stare at her, nevertheless her lips. but, he simply couldn't help it. he found her memorizing.

she could occasionally notice the stares, sometimes ignoring them, others catching and causing him to turn into a flustered teenage boy.

she enjoyed his awkward manner around her when they were alone. she found it quite amusing, to say the least.

at some point, the two got lost in their own conversation. they had thankfully finished all the studying for the night, but charlie had began talking about music, and that got her dragged into a whole debacle about the subject.

a dumbfounded laugh left eliza's mouth as she listened to charlie's recreation of a certain whitney huston song, quickly shutting him up before he could continue more.

"you know, banks. i actually really enjoy hanging out with you" he admitted, throwing his head back onto her head board, without hurting himself in the process.

he had already done that once tonight, only making eliza burst out into laughter and clutch onto her stomach to try and stop the sound coming from her mouth.

"who would've known that?" she smirked, sitting kris cross in front of him, knees touching. he let out a breathy laugh, nodding his head as he brought it back up, catching her brown eyes.

he couldn't help but want to lean in, wanting to feel her lips on his own, once again. now, she might not have enjoyed it. but charlie, he replayed that moment in his head over and over again since then.

it was an addictive feeling, that he couldn't explain.

eliza noticed this, mentally questioning to herself if this was a good idea or not. she had just kissed rick less then 24 hours ago, and charlie less than 72 hours ago.

did all teenagers do this? she thought to herself, chewing on her bottom lip, slowly leaning her own body into his, without even realizing it.

his forehead collided with hers, but gently, not hard. a shaky breath escaped his lips, fluttering his eyes closed.

"we really, shouldn't be doing this"

"no, we really shouldn't"

but charlie just shrugged, about to make the move, only for the sound of the door slamming shut came through the home.

the two froze, not moving from the position as they heard multiple voices from downstairs.

"eliza, we're home. dad brought back pizza, but don't worry, we got you something else"

maybe it wasn't the time to mentally thank adam, knowing she hated pizza.

"shit" she whispered, pushing charlie back and quickly waving to him to pick up. he only nodded, doing as she commanded.

"thank you. i'll be down in a minute" she shouted back, not getting a reply as the four men seemed to be in a serious topic about something.

but, sadly the sound of charlie and eliza both fumbling around at least caught rick and adams attention, who had both excused themselves to come up stairs and check on the female.

"el, you okay in there?" the two heard from the other side of the door.

their eyes had widened, not moving until the sound of her doorknob was heard. charlie quickly fell to the floor, sliding under the bed with items in hand. she noticed his shoes still on the ground, throwing them under the bed for him to just be kicked in the face, by the items.

he let out a groan, followed by another low one as she kicked his foot, that was still visible to the eye.

a horrified smile formed on her face as her brother, and rick walked in, staring at her in concern.

"you okay?" rick let out a laugh, smirking as he leant against the wall. she only replied with a nod, not saying anything else.

adam seemed to ignored her odd behaviour, waving her off and heading back downstairs to the food.

whilst rick, he stayed. once her brother was gone, he walked over to her, towering over her frail body.

"how are you? you know, after last night. i didn't mean to spring it on you or anything i ju—" rick rambled.

"rick, it's okay. no worries, i promise" she cut him off, laughing. he only gave her a faint smile, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek, before walking away and out the room.

she quickly wiped the kiss off, putting a disgusted face on as she pulled charlie out from under the bed.

"you hit me in the eye, with my own shoe" he mumbled, rubbing his eyelid. she rolled her eyes at him, leading him towards the window.

"off you go, conway" she pointed out.

"so, we're like romeo and juliet? he wiggled his eyebrows, crossing his arms as he shrugged on the book bag he owned. she gave him a dumbfounded look, letting him know to drop his smirk.

"hey, tonight was fun, banksie. i'll see you again soon, okay?" he winked, climbing out onto her roof. she only replied with a nod, waving bye to him as he successfully hopped off the tiles, no faults.

a sigh of relief escaped her lips, bringing her window to a close, but stopped as she heard the sound from out in front.

"bye, babe!"
