03: first time
"There's not a lot of things I can screw up, it's only the first day," Seoyun reassured herself, her hand on her chest to control her breathing.
"That's right! Just think like that and you'll do great," Felix encouraged her.
"Yeah, exactly," she said fully calming herself down. "This is a fresh start for, I don't know anyone and nobody knows me, feels good," she said as they walked into the school grounds.
"In case you don't make friends by lunch you can sit by me, Seungmin, and Hyunjin," Felix suggested with a warm smile.
"I'll take that offer," she said in a less softer voice than usual.
"Gosh, you don't have to shout. I'm literally right here," Felix jokingly said. She gave him an annoyed looked before hitting his arm.
"I'll sit by myself if I have too," she said as they walked to the teachers office.
"Come by the studio later if you're free, they guys and I want to show you our dance," Felix said as he leaned on the wall by the door.
"Most likely, I'll see you later," she said then waved goodbye and went inside the room to meet with her homeroom teacher.
"Hello, I'm the new student, Park Seoyun," she greeted with a bow.
"It's nice to meet you Seoyun, I'm Ms. Yoo Joohyun. Here's your schedule, let me introduce you to your other teachers before going into class," Ms. Yoo said then proceeded to tell Seoyun about her teachers and classes.
Once the school bell rang, Seoyun quietly followed Ms. Yoo to the classroom and was introduced to the class.
"Hello, I'm Park Seoyun! Let's have a fun year," Seoyun smiled sweetly to her class and bowed.
"You can sit over there in the empty seat by the corner," Ms. Yoo directed her, she obediently followed and sat down to the sleeping figure.
"Hey! Park Seoyun, do you have a pencil by any chance?" A male in the other seat next to her asked. Seoyun gave him a pencil without further questions then turned her attention to the board. "I'm Han Jisung by the way, do you want to be friends?" He asked.
Seoyun looked at him confused for a moment before nodding her head hesitantly. "Okay, from today on we're friends," she smiled then returned her attention back on the teacher and so did Jisung.
"Han Jisung, can you flirt a little quieter next time, I'm trying to sleep here," the boy next to her sat up finally.
"Hwang Hyunjin, I wasn't flirting, I was making a friend. Now do your part as a student and pay attention," Jisung said. Seoyun turned to look at Hyunjin, surprised that they sat next to each other, he looked at her for a second, meeting her eyes for just a second, then quickly looked at Jisung again.
"Han Jisung and Hwang Hyunjin, don't make it difficult for the new student by fighting again," Ms. Yoo said which tamed the two boys to quiet down in their seats.

"Do you want to come get snacks with me Seoyun?" Jisung asked as he leaned on her desk. She nodded then grabbed her wallet.
"Are you and Hyunjin not in good terms?" Seoyun asked as they walked to buy snacks.
"Oh no, he's one of my best friends actually. We just like fighting and playing around a lot," Jisung said to her surprise.
"Felt pretty serious earlier, huh? Sorry, I forget that not everyone is used to us playing around," Jisung said.
"Oh no worries, I almost thought I had to break a fight on my first day," she said jokingly that caused Jisung to laugh.
"Since we're friends now, pick a snack you'd like, I'll pay this time," Jisung said.
"Wow, how chic. Thank you Jisung," she said then picked out some drink. They passed by the bulletin filled with clubs and after school activities sign ups. "Should I join something?" Seoyun asked as she looked at the papers on the wall.
"It would be a great way to get to know people. A lot of the friends that I have now are from my music appreciation club," Jisung said.
"Oh! There's one where you can tutor people from younger classes," she pointed out. Jisung nodded in acknowledgment.
"Seoyun!" Felix said as he ran to her.
"Yongbok, I think I found something I want to do," she said. "I'm thinking of doing the tutoring program, should I do it?" she asked. Felix nodded excitedly.
"You'd be perfect for it! Since you used to do it back in your old school you know how to do it," Felix said, happy for his cousin.
"It starts next week and they train us this weekend," she said as she took a price of paper with the information.
"How do you know each other?" Jisung asked, confused.
"He's my cousin, do you two know each other?" Seoyun asked.
"I met them through Hyunjin when I saw their performance," Jisung said.
"We're all friends," Seungmin said when he walked up to them. Seoyun nodded her head, now understanding their friend circle.
"We should head back, I still have to give Hyunjin his snack," Jisung said as he held up Hyunjin's favorite snack.
"Okay, I'll see you guys later," she waved at Felix and Seungmin.
Hyunjin was listening to music as Seoyun and Jisung walked in the classroom laughing. He glanced at the for a while before staring at the window beside him.
"Here, a peace offering from earlier," Jisung set the snack on Hyunjin's tables before sitting down on his own chair. Hyunjin looked at him and smiled.
"I always knew I was your true love," Hyunjin smiled and opened the bag to enjoy the food. It was probably the first time Seoyun had seen him smile.
"He's pretty when he smiles," Seoyun mumbled.
"I smile all the time, does that mean I'm pretty all the time," Hyunjin said as he took off his earphones. Seoyun looked at him flustered.
"Oh, I didn't think you would be able to hear me," she said.
"Are you surprised? Are you jealous that I'm so pretty," he said as he batted his eyes prettily.
"Yeah yeah, so very jealous," she said sarcastically.
"I knew it," he smiled as he sat up to pay attention when the teacher came.
"So he does talk," Seoyun smiled to herself.
~
"I knew you'd sit by us in lunch," Felix said as she sat on the seat across him.
"I didn't know you and Jisung were friends who sit together," she said.
"So either way I would've met you? Maybe I shouldn't have had to put in that much effort to being friends with you if it was going to be this easy," Jisung said as he sat next to Felix.
"I'm glad that you're sitting with us," Seungmin said as he sat beside her and Hyunjin on the other side.
"How are your classes so far?" Seungmin asked.
"Good actually, I sit between Hyunjin and Jisung so there's never a dull moment," she smiled.
"They argue a lot, I'm sorry for you, Seoyun," Seungmin said, patting her back.
"It's funny watching them bicker, they're like little kids, it's cute," she said before eating her food.
"Are you serious about the tutoring thing?" Hyunjin said, loud enough for only her to hear.
"Hmm, I think so. It's not like I have much better things to do," she responded in the same low voice.
"Oh okay, that's good I guess," He said then continued on to eat.
"So why dancing then," she asked him this time.
"Because it's fun, you should try it sometime. I could teach you one of ours if you'd like," he said looking at her.
"Okay, sure. I'll come by sometime. You better stick to your word, Hyunjin," she said.
"Okay I promise," he scoffed.
"So are you coming to the studio later? You can come watch us dance," Seungmin said.
"Sure, it'll be my first time seeing you guys dance as a group. Are you coming too Jisung?" Seoyun asked.
"I might, why would you rather go somewhere else with me?" He said.
"Stop flirting you bean sack," Seungmin said without faltering.
"Ha. Maybe a different time," she said then continued to finish her food.
"Yeah, I'll go. It's the first day so I have nothing better to do," Jisung said then glared at Seungmin for his comment.
"Don't you have a girlfriend to spend time with?" Felix asked.
"I dumped her like a week ago, she was getting to controlling," Jisung said.
"Good, I didn't like her," Hyunjin said.
"This isn't about you, let me sulk," Jisung said.
"I'll leave first then," Seoyun said as the two began to bicker.
"Can you believe the new girl. Does she really have to sit by them. I already don't like her." Small voices whispered as she set her tray by the trash.
"Gossip really is an international language," Seoyun whispered to herself.
