08: like we usually did

"Are you nervous?" Seoyun asked as she gathered her things into her backpack.

"More excited really. This the is the first agency I'm auditioning for so I'm not really expecting to be accepted right away," Jisung replied the gave a hearty sigh.

"I'm sure you'll do great," Seoyun said with a smile.

"It would suck if I didn't after practicing so hard," he joked. Jisung's hand was subtly shaking, his eyes couldn't find its focus, and was breathing heavily. Han Jisung never gets nervous, Han Jisung is confident, Han Jisung is cool, Han Jisung is still human. It took too much sleepless nights creating songs, too much lessons from Hyunjin about dancing, and too much pressure on himself to be nervous. And yet here he was, shaking scared like a little boy as they walked to the entertainment building.

"You're heart is beating so hard, I can hear it from here," Seoyun said before grabbing a hold of his hand. "Oh gosh you're sweating a lot," she said as she ran her fingers on his palm.

Jisung looked at her, taken aback by her sudden intimate touch. They've held hands, hugged, and had many skinship moments like that, but none was as sincere as this.

"You caught me," he laughed halfheartedly as he took them away from her to wipe his palms on his shirt. "I can't seem to stop my hands from shaking," he said as he stared at his unstable hands.

"Just breathe," she rested her hand on his cheek.

Jisung looked up from his hands to see his friend's smiling face. "What," he whispered, mostly to check if the moment was true.

"I said just breathe, focus on the sensation of your lungs expanding and contracting. Just breathe," she said then moved her hand from his cheek to take his hands again.

Jisung obeyed her requests and took heavy, slow breaths as he held her hands.

In... and... out.

"You're a good friend, Seoyun," Jisung said then pet her head softly.

"Thanks, I try," Seoyun said then copied his action.

"Let's go eat, I'll pay this time," Jisung said then continued walking.

"There's less people than I expected," Seoyun said when the got to the entertainment agency. They had already gotten signed up and taken a number to be called with. Once in the waiting room, they sat at two empty seats and anxiously waited for their turn.

"At this rate, I might finish earlier than planned," Jisung said.

"So does that mean you'll come to study with us today," Seoyun said with excitement.

"No, not because I don't want to hang out with you guys but simply because I don't want to study," Jisung said blatantly.

"So should I just leave now or..." Seoyun pretended to leave from her seat.

"Hey, don't be like that," Jisung pouted and held onto her arm.

"So you'll come?" Seoyun asked enthusiastically.

"No," Jisung responded with s smile. "But you'll stay right?" He asked enthusiastically.

"Yeah. I'll stay," she sighed and sat back down to her seat.

"Number 4419, please come inside," a staff lady  called out.

"That's me, wish me luck," Jisung said as he stood up and handed her his backpack.

"Good luck," she whispered with both her thumbs up.

After a few minutes of waiting and mingling with other participants waiting for their turn, Seoyun's wait for Jisung was over.

"How do you think it went?" Seoyun asked

"Could've been worse, but I know I did my best so I don't have any regret," he smiled to himself.

"Hey, I should get going. I'll see you later," Seoyun said then grabbed her backpack.

"Want me to walk you to the library?" Jisung asked as he pulled his backpack to his shoulder.

"Mhmm," she shook her head. "I'll be okay, you should go home and rest. I see you sleep in class all the time," she said then pet his head.

"Well, text me when you get there," he said then they left the building.

A few feet away from the entrance, the silhouette of a running boy came to their sight, quickly growing bigger as he got close. At the distance it was close enough, they realized it was Hyunjin.

"Is it over? How did it go?" Hyunjin panted out when he reached Seoyun and Jisung.

"It just finished," Seoyun answered, still surprised.

"It went well. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at practice?" Jisung asked his best friend.

After a few moments of him catching his breath, "I wanted to know how it went," he answered, breathing heavily to control his heart beat. "We have a break right now and the building was near so I ran over here, I have a few minutes left to spare," he said.

"Thanks Hyunjin," Jisung said then hugged his sweaty friend.

"Are you guys going to the library?" Hyunjin asked.

"Just me, Jisung has to go sleep," Seoyun said. "Which reminds me, I'll leave first," she said then left the two.

"I'll take you back before heading home," Jisung said then they began to walk.

"So are you going to tell me how it went or are you going to make me wait?" Hyunjin asked.

"Thought you'd never ask," Jisung said then proceeded to tell him all about the audition

Their day proceeded like it had yesterday. Seoyun had came in early to study for herself, since most of the time she spent during her free time in class was to write Jisung's notes for him while he slept, until Jeongin came. Once he did, they usually began studying for his tests and quizzes, doing his homework, or just talking about each other's day. When Felix, Hyunjin, and Seungmin came later into the day, she would begin helping them with their work so they can focus on dance during practice and not worry about their grades.

Jeongin and Seungmin went home together once again after splitting up from the group. The trio had continued their late night study session with food—courtesy of Hyunjin's mom after he asked her to make extra servings for his two friends— then ended the night with dragging Felix back to his room and snarky banter between Hyunjin and Seoyun.

Most were already sleeping soundly at the comfort of their beds, while some struggled to find the perfect position to sleep in. Seoyun was the some that struggled. She had been idly staring at her bland ceiling, counting sheep as she tried to control her thoughts to go to sleep. It wasn't irregular for her to be unable to sleep, and when she did sleep it wouldn't last that long, typical symptoms of insomnia.

"458... 459... 460...," Seoyun tiredly chanted with her eyes closed. Her foot shook uncontrollably as a habit.

"I can't do it," Seoyun sat up from her bed and grabbed her sweater and leggings before grabbing her phone and wallet then left to go to the nearest convenience store. It hadn't been that long since Hyunjin had left her house so she took a chance.

To Hyunjin
are you still up?
i can't sleep :(
i'm going to the park, so if i die tell the police I was there

After a few minutes of waiting and buying two bottles of banana milk. Seoyun sat at the swings with both bottles on her lap as she lightly pushed herself for a little momentum.

"Seoyun," someone called out her name, she looked up to meet his eyes and it was Hyunjin.

"Hey," she said softly.

"Hey," he said back as he took the empty swing next to her.

"You sound like you just woke up. Did I wake you?" She asked then turned to face him.

"No, I couldn't sleep either," he lied, he woke up then ran to the park after reading her text messages.

"Thanks for coming out here," she said with a smile. "Oh I got this for you, I wasn't assuming that you would come, but I bought it just incase you did, and here you are," she said as she handed him the milk.

"Huh, thanks," he said with a hidden smile underneath his hood.

"Do you, maybe, want to go on a walk?" Seoyun asked.

"Sure, where to?" Hyunjin said then stood up from the swing.

"Don't know and I don't really care, I just want to walk with you," she said then stood up next to him. Hyunjin stared at her serious eyes then blushed.

"I'm okay with that," he said with his eye smile.

They began their walk talking about stupid nothings and joking around like they usually did until the morning came.

Good thing tomorrow was a weekend.
