12: any questions?
"Your grades look splendid as always Park Seoyun!" The teacher praised Seoyun. "Have you considered applying to Seoul National University? Or perhaps KAIST?" Ms. Yoo, her homeroom teacher, suggested.
"I've considered it, but I'm not really sure if I'm staying here for college," Seoyun admitted.
"Have you talked to your parents about it? Yongbok seems to be staying here for school," the teacher said.
"I haven't found the chance to, last time we talked about it they were in split decisions. My father wants me to stay here but my mother wants me to study abroad," she said.
"Well, with your grades and general achievements you can get accepted to many colleges and universities, both abroad and here in Korea, you should begin applying for schools soon. That's as much advice as I can give you, I'm sure a student like you has prepared for college for a long time now," Ms. Yoo said.
"Thank you Ms. Yoo," Seoyun bowed her head politely.
"You can go back to your class now," the teacher dismissed her. Seoyun bowed her head again before leaving back to her classroom.
"I should study abroad, and go to the best school out there. Money shouldn't be a problem, I've got the grades for it too. I should study abroad," Seoyun repeated to herself like a chant as she slowly made her way back to her class.
"So are you studying abroad?" Seungmin interrupted her thoughts.
"Oh, hi Seungmin," she greeted with her regular soft smile. He had just gotten back from talking to his teacher as well.
"I guess it's not the right time to ask about it yet," Seungmin said to himself out loud.
"It's not like that, I just finished talking to Ms. Yoo," she sighed, he knew exactly what they had to talk about.
"Your parents must've mentioned something about studying abroad," he said.
"I'm sure everyone in this school has that option, it's not really that big of a deal," she said, a sad smile forming on her face.
"Well, most of the students in this school don't end up leaving to go study abroad, they just go the best schools they offer here in Korea. It's not bad to worry about that kind of stuff," Seungmin reassured her.
Seoyun smiled softly before hooking her arm around his. "I think I needed to hear that," she smiled sincerely.
Seungmin watched her for a bit as she rested her head on his shoulder, they inevitably walked slower back to class, to spend a little bit more time in the silent comfort. Seungmin's smile soon faded as he pushed himself back to reality.
"You should get back to class soon, I'm sure those two are missing you already," he said, but put no effort into pushing her away.
"They were probably sent out again for bickering," she joked before moving her head off his shoulder.
"You have to go save them now," he said.
"I'll see you later then," she now fully let go of him then went back to her class. Seungmin carefully reached for the tie of his uniform, running his fingers on the fine embroidery and fixing it a bit before running it to down to his chest.
"It was the right thing to do," he said to himself before going back to his own class.
Proving her predictions correct, Hyunjin and Jisung was standing in the hallway of their classroom with their hands to their front. Seoyun laughed at them softly before taking her seat. She often glanced at them while their lesson continued, and after they finished while they were getting scolded. At times they'd make funny faces at her and mess around whenever the teacher wasn't looking causing her to laugh quietly by herself, sometimes almost getting caught by their teacher.
"I suggest you pay attention if you don't want to be sent out with them Park Seoyun," the teacher warned.
"I understand," her quiet voice peeped out. The two boys outside snickered by themselves as they watched their flustered friend write her notes with a red face. A little after the boys were finally sent back to their seats. "What did you guys do this time?" Seoyun asked.
"At first we were just tossing paper to each other, then it escalated throwing pens. We got caught after Jisung dropped his pencil case," Hyunjin said then glared at the smiling Jisung.
"It only happened that way since you weren't here to pass our paper for us," Jisung tried to blame her.
"Even if I was here you would've been sent out either way," Seoyun reasoned with a smirk.
"I don't like it when you guys gang up on me like this," Jisung pouted as he grabbed her hand, something they did frequently.
"It's fun," Hyunjin responded as he wrapped his a around her shoulder and pulled her to his side, causing Jisung and Seoyun's hands to let go.
Seoyun looked up to Hyunjin for a second before returning back to their conversation. "Let me catch you guys up with what you missed," Seoyun said as she opened her notes.
For a split second, when he glanced at her, he thought she blushed. There was tint of red on her ears and a small smile on her face, she was indeed blushing. And now he was too. Jisung, an innocent bystander, watched this all unfold, and has been for a few weeks now. He's been observing them for a while now, maybe it began when he caught them sharing earphones, even though they both had their own, while they talked by the window during their break and the sun was shining against them while they smiled or the times he caught Hyunjin saving her an extra piece of chicken every time she was too late to get the last piece and that she always managed to get them from his favorite place, sometime in between those times Jisung started rooting for them.
"I'm not trying to be a third wheel, I'll ask Jinyoung," Jisung said then turned to his seat mate.
"Huh?" Both said as they watched Jisung asking for help from Jinyoung. They slowly turned to each other with an evident blush then quickly staring back at the notes.
"So this- this is what she wrote," Seoyun stuttered as she shyly ran her pen through the notes. Hyunjin held back a giggle before gaining his composure back.
"Can you teach me how to do this?" He asked her with a kind smile, one look at that smile calmed her down immediately.
"This is how you do it..." she began. Hyunjin understood the lesson pretty well, and so did Jisung, he just liked to hear her voice. He liked that she took time to teach him anything he needed and made sure to tell him even more than the teacher taught them, he liked that she didn't bother to wake him up during lessons just so he could have a little bit more sleep because of dance while writing notes that he would understand perfectly, he liked that she went to every dance competition they had, no matter how far away it was, and always brought them the best chicken. He liked a lot of things that she did.
Hyunjin didn't pay any attention to whatever she said, nothing mattered to him.
"Just tell me to slow down if you don't understand anything..." Seoyun trailed off when she caught his eyes of her. Usually they would both turn away by now but neither of them bothered, staring at each other was almost enchanting, like they just couldn't turn away from each other.
"I think I get it now," Hyunjin closed her notebook, not breaking eye contact at all. He moved closer to her and she backed up by instinct but was stopped by his hand on her back.
"Do you have any questions?" She asked him innocently, as if he wasn't inches away from him.
"Do you want to go out with me?"
