21: you're mean

"Hyunjin, do you need me to go over the problem again?" Seoyun asked after she went over the lesson with him.

"Yes," he smiled innocently. "I didn't listen at all, not one bit, can you explain it again," he said as he fluttered his eyes.

"Disgusting, absolutely disgusting," Jisung spoke up.

"I agree," she said then pinched Hyunjin's cheek.

"You're both mean," Hyunjin pouted then rested his chin on her shoulder.

I had been two weeks since then, finals had just ended and that day was the last day before their break would begin, the last winter break of their high school career. Their classroom could not stop talking about all the places they would visit during the long break: the Bahamas, New Zealand, or Bali, various places around the beautiful globe.

"Are you planning on going somewhere Jisung?" Seoyun asked.

"I wanted to go visit Malaysia again for a week, but I have nothing to do after that," he said. "Do you have any plans?"

"I have to go back to the U.S. for a little while to deal with something but I come back after. I was thinking of going somewhere warm, but Haeun is going to the Alps with her boyfriend, my brothers are busy with work, and parents are some where on earth. Yongbok is surprising Chan with a 2 week trip to Australia, so I think I might just go on my own somewhere," she said, wondering where she could go.

"Why don't we go on a trip together? We can spend a few days in Bora Bora or Maui, then go to Greece to celebrate the New Year, how does that sound?" Hyunjin asked. Jisung and Seoyun looked at each other with excited smiles and unanimously agreed.

"I'll handle our airfare and hotel expenses, so we don't have to worry about that," Seoyun smiled.

"We should ask the guys to come with us too, like a team vacation!" Hyunjin grinned.

"Can I bring a friend too?" Seoyun asked.

"Is she hot?" Jisung spoke up.

"He is very attractive," she pets his arm. Jisung sneered at her then turned away with his arms crossed.

"He? Who is this friend of yours?" Hyunjin turned to Seoyun with a hint of jealousy.

"Changbin, our neighbor, I've told you about him," she said.

"And how come I've never met him?" Hyunjin's jealousy rose.

"You will if he comes to our trip. I'll try to ask Jeongin if he can come too," she cuddled to his side to make him smile, which never failed to do so.

"Won't it be uncomfortable for you if you're the only girl?" Jisung said. "I can bring a few if you want," he suggested.

"I'd be more comfortable with a group of guys that I know than have to spend it with random girls that I don't care about. So, no, you don't have to bring girls for me, thank you," she smiled. "I like just being with you guys," she looked up at Hyunjin who was already staring at her.

"Let's meet up with them later," Hyunjin took her hand into his and squeezed tightly.

"I'll bring Jeongin, and then I'll text Changbin to come too," she said.

"Good! Everything's set!" Jisung leaned into his seat with satisfaction.

Seoyun turned to Hyunjin who had a pout on his face, he played with the tips of her hair, twirling the ends between his fingers. "Babe, is everything okay?" Seoyun asked worriedly.

"You called me babe for the first time," he smiled sweetly.

"Answer my question, Hyunjin," she leaned away to face him with a serious look.

"I'm okay, why wouldn't I be?" Hyunjin replied.

She furrowed her eyebrows from his response, not believing it at all. "Babe, tell me what's wrong. I can tell that you're upset about something, so just tell me what's bothering you," she said.

"You might not be uncomfortable with a group of just guys, but I am. I don't like it at all," he said while holding her hand tightly, not sparing a glance to her the whole time.

"Hyunjin, these people are our friends. There's nothing to worry about," she placed her hand on his cheek.

"Changbin isn't my friend," he mumbled.

"Changbin is not attracted to me," she said with a grin.

"You don't know that," he said.

"Oh but I do," she pulled his chin up to look her in the eyes, "he is not, and will never be, attracted to me. He doesn't swing that way."

"So I really had nothing to worry about, I must've sounded really dumb," he leaned into his chair after letting go of her hands.

"You're not dumb, it was a little cute. But your jealousy can be cute to an extent. I won't ever give you a reason to doubt me, so please just believe in me," she smiled at him softly.

"How are you like this? How can you be so sweet? Maybe I shouldn't be asking anymore, I should just thank you for it," he finally smiled after a while.

"Rather than just thanking me, why don't you just kiss me?" She smirked.

"Are you serious? Finally!" His face lit up.

"No, not yet," she teased then sat up from her chair. "Come with me to get snacks, I'm hungry," she reached her hand out to him.

"You can't tease me then ask me to go get snacks with you, that's mean," he crossed his arms. "But I'll go with you since I like you so much," he got up from his seat then held her hand.

"Hey, what are you doing for Christmas?" Hyunjin asked.

"My family hosts a big Christmas party with all of our relatives, it's almost like a big family reunion. Since everyone is so busy, that's the only time we get to see each other, maybe the first time in the whole year," she replied. "And you? Do you have any plans?"

"We celebrate with dinner on the 24th because on the 25th my mom hosts a company party. Exclusive for only the high reps, they take this time to make connections since the company is just reaching its peak," he replied.

"Do you want to come to our party with me? It might be too early for you to meet my family, so don't feel pressured to come," she said nervously.

"I'd like that, a lot actually," he smiled. Seoyun stared at him for a while, imprinting that moment into her brain so that she would never forget the smile he had on. It was so lovely. He was so lovely.

"I can't fall for you this quickly, it's unhealthy," she said while her eyes wandered his face. Hyunjin's face blew into a shade of pink, blood rising to his face immediately after her sudden words, he pulled her into an empty classroom and shut the door behind them, she was trapped between him and the wall, his head low while shaking.

"I can be bold too," his voice was shaking. She tilted her head in confusion, "I should be the one who says these types of things, I can make your heart beat just as fast as mine is right now. I want you to feel just as flustered as I felt," he let out airy exhales. "I can do all those things too," he lifted his head to finally look her in the eyes, his forehead almost resting on hers.

Seoyun was silent from shock, she never imagined Hyunjin would say something like that, nevertheless do something like that. "What are you trying to say?" She asked, fully aware of what he meant, pushing him just a little.

"I want to kiss you," he admitted. She gulped from excitement, her throat felt dry and her lips tingled, she wanted him to kiss her, she's been waiting two weeks for him to kiss her.

"Well, are you?" She inched closer but stopping halfway for him to move. He smirked then finally leaned in, his heart beat twice as hard in those few seconds before he actually kissed her.

Everything was quiet and steady when Hyunjin pulled away they shared a satisfied breath. Before anything could happen, she pulled him into another kiss, a hungrier one. Her arms wrapped around his neck to pull him closer, she almost forgot how much she liked kissing, but it was worth the wait.

They pulled away, breathless, "can we do that one more time?" Hyunjin asked with a smirk.

"Later, not here," she fixed his hair. "Count to ten then leave, I'll go first," she pecked his lips then left the room.

"You're so mean, Park Seoyun," he leaned against the wall then began counting.
