"Wow your office is so large," I said, looking around Jason's office which was on the top floor by the way.

"Ermmm... Mia, I hate to rain on your parade, but I am the boss so it's expected." He said giving a 'duh' expression.

"Wow, you are so humble," I replied sarcastically.

"Whatever but it's the truth."
He smiled, as he went to settle in his seat.

Jason is the only one who responds well to my sarcasm, even Ashley says I'm overbearing. Dayne just simply ignores me.

"So what do you want to do now?" I asked as I plopped on the table skimming over the papers scattered on his table.

"As much as I would love to go out right now with you, I still got some little things to finish up."

"Ohhh... I knew I shouldn't have come." I said feeling down and disappointed.

"Are you crazy?" Jason asked looking bewildered.

"Do I look crazy Jason?" I wittily fired back.

Ignoring my question he continued.

"Thank goodness you came, if you didn't I would have been whisked to another boring meeting and to be frank my butt hurts from those uncomfortable chairs." He said, faking a sad expression as he wiped non-existence tears.

"Stop being such a baby," I said smiling, as I stood up.

"But it hurts Mia." He said pouting.

How does he do this? He just looks so cute right now.

"Awwn......poor baby. Come to mama." I cooed and stretched out my arms.

He then came to me in long strides and wrapped his hands around my waist and rested his head on my shoulder while I patted his head lightly

Jason is always easy to joke around. I don't have to the prim and proper lady everyone thinks I should be.
I'm pretty laid back when I'm with Jason.

"If your boyfriend sees me right now, he's going to tear me into shreds." He said chuckling.

"Dayne won't do that he'll understand you're my close friend," I said smiling.

"That's sad; how come I am not your best friend?" He said lifting his head a little bit from shoulder and pouting.

"That spot is already taken by Ashley. If she hears she has competition, she'll murder you and dump your body on the highway." I said laughing while thinking about Ashley's reaction.

"That's one hell of a best friend you got." He said smiling as he rested his head back on my shoulder.
"I know I am so lucky. At least I know someone got my back no matter what."

"You smell so good M&M." He said sniffing my neck.
"Is that the reason why you agreed to hug me?... So you can sniff me, you're just weird Jason."
I said glaring at him playfully.

"Really Mia....you smell like strawberries." He said looking serious.

"I'm now starting to think you are derilious, things taste like strawberries not smell like," I explained feeling smart.

"I wouldn't know since I haven't tried you." He said smiling smugly.

I almost face palmed myself when I realized what my explanation sounded like.

"Jason your jokes are so corny," I said looking disappointed.
"But you still love me." He sang smiling.
"No, I love my boyfriend." I deadpanned.
"Bet he isn't as hot as me M&M." He said raising his brows like he was challenging me to say otherwise.

Honestly, Jason was ten times hotter than Dayne but I wasn't about to give him the satisfaction.

"Get off your high horse Jason."

We were still in the position of his hands on my waist and his head on my shoulder.
While my hands were at his back when someone entered his office.
We didn't even notice this as we kept bickering until he cleared his throat.
"Hey."
Jason and I turned to the person with Jason's hand still hanging loosely around my waist.

A guy of about 6ft3inch with brown eyes wearing an expensive black Armani suit.

"Hey man," Jason said shaking the person with his other hand.

"Aren't you going to introduce me to this gorgeous lady?" He said smiling widely.

"Mia this is Mason, sadly my best friend. He's a total flirt so beware." Jason said smiling craftily.
"The last part was so not needed man," Mason said shaking his head disapprovingly.
"Hey am Mia Montana and I'm taken."
"That was so savage, but it's obvious you are; seeing the position you both were in when I came in. I'm so proud of you man." He said smiling as he tapped Jason at the back.

"We are not together, she has a fiance. She's just my close friend that came to visit me." He explained removing his hand from my waist.

"How come I have never heard of her?" Mason said protesting.
"Forget it man and let's conclude the business plans," Jason said settling back on his chair.
Mason looked like he wanted to say something but decided against it.

Why did I feel butterflies in my stomach when Mason suggested Jason and I were an item.
This doesn't feel right, I love Dayne, not Jason.
I can't start doubting that now when I have been so sure of it.
I can't throw away our relationship of five years for a friendship of five days.

It was so quiet as all Jason and Mason did was stare at each other.
Then I decided to break the silence.
"I'll just stay on the couch and wait for you."

"Ok... I won't be long." Jason said smiling.

I listened to Jason talk to Mason about business deals. He sounded different from how I knew him.
He talked with control, and gone were those playful smiles I knew because what replaced them was a hard-pressed lip.
I was thinking of this when I drifted away.

I suddenly felt a slight shake of my shoulders.

"Hey Mia let's get going, I am done."
"Really?" I asked smiling widely.
"Yeah"  Jason smiled, mirroring my expression.

He started gathering the papers on his table when an invitation card fell out.
Jason noticed it and opened it to check the contents.

"M&M you said you were bored right?"
"That is already established, Jason." I said giving a look that said 'get straight to the point dude'.
"How will you like to accompany me this night to a birthday party of one of my clients?
"Really?... I would love to." I said with my eyes twinkling with excitement.

When I suddenly remembered that I had nothing to wear.

Jason noticed my dampened expression.

"What's wrong?"
"I have nothing to wear."
"That's not a problem M&M, let's go shopping."
"You want to go shopping with me?" I asked looking surprised.

Guys never like to follow ladies for shopping.
I'm a girl and trust me I won't like to ever follow Ash for shopping.
After my first experience, let's just say I became smarter.

"Sure why not?"
"You never seem to amaze me, Jason."
"Well I'm that amazing," Jason said smiling.
"Shall we?"
"We shall," I said picking up my bag.

At the mall

"How is this Jason?"  I said holding up a white gown.
"The color is like that of a cow, so no." He said shaking his head in disagreement.

Jason has been so frustrating, he's been comparing my clothes to animals since we came, and trust me I'm not finding it funny.

"Ok, how about this one?" I asked showing him a pink gown, as I tried calming myself down.

"The color is like that of a pig, so no."

I was growing annoyed by Jason's attitude and comments.

"Can you be serious Jason?"

"I am, you're asking for my opinion and I'm telling you."

"Am asking for real opinion not comparing the clothes to animals," I responded feeling tired.

"Ok since you're not helping in any manner. I suggest you sit at the reception and wait for me."

"Not doing that Mia." He said shaking his head again in disagreement.

I needed to shop but Jason was distracting me with his opinions.

Suddenly I knew what to do to make Jason leave.

"I found another gown in the opposite rack, let me bring it to ask for your opinion," I said, smiling sweetly.
"Ok am waiting." He said smiling back.

Oh boy, he doesn't know what I'm planning to do.

I went to the lingerie section and got a couple of lingerie to show Jason.

"So do you think this will fit me?" I asked when I got to where Jason was staying holding up pink lingerie.

"Ermmm I don't know Mia. I think I will take up your offer and wait in the reception." He said stuttering and his face reddening with embarrassment.

He hurriedly left to the reception, with me laughing loudly.

I didn't even get the chance to tell him it was a joke, poor Jason looked flushed.

Well, good thing I can finish my shopping in peace. I thought to myself.
