ØØØØ
AMBER MAXIMOFF WAS not prepared at all for this 'time heist'. Her stomach churned and twisted anxiously as she stood in front of her bedroom mirror in the red and white suit, awaiting a call from her teammates. The girl had braided her hair out of her face, letting a few stray hairs hang. Her fingers lightly ran over a worn picture, which was stuck onto the corner of her mirror, the picture displayed her small, broken family on Christmas, surrounded by presents and lights.
Pietro and Amber we're pulling funny faces at the camera while Wanda and her parents were captured laughing. It was her favorite item she owned; it was the only thing that reminded her and kept her connected to her family. It was crazy to think that Amber was the last remaining Maximoff, They started out with five, then three, then two, and then unfortunately one. To say she missed them would be an understatement, she missed her parents, she missed Pietro, she missed Wanda.
Whenever Wanda was a topic of conversation, Amber would steer clear and the heavy weight of guilt placed itself upon her. Although what happened between Wanda and her, wasn't exactly Ambers fault, the girl felt guilty that she didn't try hard enough to reconnect. A soft knock rang through her room, Amber lifted her head and looked towards Natasha, who leaned against the door frame in an identical suit to the girls. Natasha glanced at what Amber was previously looking at and offered the girl a soft smile.
"You visit him lately?" She asked, nodding towards Pietro in the picture. The girls head drooped slightly as she nodded. "Last night, when I came back." Amber replied, "Are they ready?".
"Mhmm..." Natasha confirmed, stretching her hand out, "Come on, duty calls". Amber chuckled and took the woman's hand, letting herself be pulled out of the room. Natasha finally let go of Ambers hand when they approached the rest of the team.
Steve nodded towards the two, and together, all of the Avengers walked in sync towards the time machine, all wearing the exact same Quantum Suits, albeit with some minor differences for different people such as, Rhodey who had a repaint of the War machine armor. Amber stifled a laugh as they walked, she felt like she was apart of some renowned boy band, that were on their tour of the world. Everyone filed onto the platform and gathered in a circle.
"Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends... We lost family... We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back." Steve begun, "You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win." Amber shot a smile in Nats direction as Tony did the same to Steve. "Whatever it takes. Good luck." Steve finished.
"He's pretty good at that." Rocket spoke up,
"Right?!" Scott exclaimed, Looking very excited.
"I'm pretty sure his giving of speeches is the main reason why he's the 'leader'" Amber whispered to the two.
"All right. You heard the man." Tony grinned, as everyone got into position. "Stroke those keys, jolly green."
"Tractors engaged." Bruce said from the control panel,
Rocket handed Clint the shrunken Benatar "You promise to bring that back in one piece, right?" The raccoon told Clint.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay." The man replied dismissively, "I'll do my best."
"As promises go, that was pretty lame." Rocket said, crossing his arms, and rolling his eyes.
Natasha smiled in excitement, "See you in a minute." She smirked, as all of the teams helmet came down over their head and shrunk to enter the Quantum Realm. Once inside, they all split at different intervals, going to a different place at a different time in history.

Amber, Clint and Natasha all stood facing Rhodey who was directing the Benatar as it landed, "Alright. Bring it down low. Right on that line. That's it. Down, down." The man instructed.
"Hey, can we hurry it up?" Clint asked, making the two girls snicker,
"Guys, chop-chop. Come on." Natasha added, tilting her head slightly,
"You're aware we're on a clock, right?" Amber chuckled as Rhodey shot the three an annoyed glance. Nebula walked out of the ship, after making sure it was directed to its next destination.
"All that, is really helpful." Rhodey said, directing his comment at the threes antics, the man hugged Natasha, "Take care, okay?"
"Yeah." Natasha nodded, as they pulled apart.
"Take that stone and come back. No messing around." Rhodey instructed, looking at Amber and Clint specifically, who looked away whistling
"Hey. You got this." Amber hyped up Rhodey, who looked slightly nervous.
"Let's get it done. Yes, ma'am" Rhodey chuckled, shaking his head. Natasha and Clint walked towards the ship, gesturing for Amber to follow.
"See you back." Natasha called out to Rhodey as the three stopped in their tracks.
"You guys watch each other's six." Rhodey grinned, walking away. The three looked after him and just smiled. They walk back into the ship, and the hatch closed almost immediately. Amber secured herself into the seat, as Natasha and Clint did the same.
"Everyone ready?" Natasha asked, glancing at her two close friends, earning two nods, she pressed a small, round button and the ship lifted off the foreign planets surface and sped out of the atmosphere of Morag. Amber was thrown back into her seat, her eyes filled with the colors of the environment in front of her.
The ship jumped through space and sped up tremendously, causing Nat and Clint look at each other.
"We're a long way from Budapest." Clint laughed,
"Whatever did happen in Budapest?" Amber questioned, her curiosity getting the best of her.
"Well kid, prepare yourself for a hell of a story.." Natasha chuckled.
ØØØØ
The ship soon landed on another planet and the three exited the Benetar, all of them wary and precautious of their surroundings.
"Wow... Under different circumstances, this would be totally awesome." Clint spoke up, looking around at the mountains and snow, all under a purple and pink sky.
"Agreed!" Amber nodded, as the three set out on their climb up the nearest mountain. Amber pulled herself onto a ledge and stood beside Natasha who looked up to the peak.
"I bet the raccoon didn't have to climb a mountain." She grumbled, as they continued to climb.
"Technically, he's not a raccoon, you know." Clint replied,
"Some sort of hybrid-animal" Amber added.
"Whatever. He eats garbage" Natasha rolled her eyes, as they reached the peak of the mountain.
A figure stepped out of the shadows making Nat and Clint draw their weapons and Amber to raise her glowing hand, "Welcome." The voice rasped.
The figure came closer "Natasha, daughter of Ivan. Clint, son of Edith. Amber, daughter of Aleksander". Ambers ears peaked at the sound of her late fathers name mentioned.
"Who are you?" Natasha questioned unwaveringly, her weapon still pointed at the figure.
"Consider me a guide. To you, and to all who seek the Soul Stone." The figure spoke,
"Oh good. You tell us where it is. Then we'll be on our way." Amber replied, raising a brow.
"If only it were that easy Fräulein" The thing anderer, as he gestured for the three Avengers to follow him to the edge of the cliff. "What you seek lies in front of you......as does what you fear."
Amber looked down over the side and shuddered at the sight. "The stone is down there." Natasha muttered,
"For one of you. For the other two... In order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange. A soul, for a soul." The figure finished.

Amber stood a bit away from her two comrades as she wracked her brain; deep in thought. The snow fell softly creating a cold chill, and an even colder mood. One of the three would have to die.
"How's it going? Jesus...Maybe he's making this shit up." Clint said, waving to the figure, as he turned to the two girls.
"No. I don't think so." Natasha piped up, from the log she was sitting on.
"Why, 'cause he knows your Daddy's name?" Clint questioned,
"I didn't." Natasha replied, "Thanos left here with the stone without his daughter. It's not a coincidence."
"Yeah." Amber spoke up from the corner, "He's not lying...". Clint glanced at the girl, a frown gracing his face.
"Whatever it takes." Natasha mulled to herself,
"Whatever it takes." Clint echoed, straightening up as Natasha stood up beside him.
"If we don't get that stone, billions of people stay dead." Natasha said,
"Then I guess we both know who it's gotta be." Clint added tilting his head.
"I guess we do." Nat murmured, as Clint took Natasha's hand, she reciprocated and they stood there. Amber looked down, she knew what they were both thinking and she couldn't let them go through with it.
"I'm starting to think, we've been different people here, Natasha." Clint chuckled softly,
"For the last five years I've been trying to do one thing: Get to right here. That's all it's been about. Bringing everybody back." Natasha responded.
"Oh, don't you get all decent on me now." Clint joked
"What, you think I wanna do it? I'm trying to save you and Ambers life, you idiot." Natasha murmured.
"Yeah well, I don't want you to, because I...Natasha, you know what I've done. You know what I've become." Clint's voice broke slightly.
"I don't judge people on their worst mistakes." Natasha smiled softly.
"Maybe you should." Clint retaliated,
"You didn't"
"You're a pain in my ass, you know that?" The two leaned their heads together, as Amber stood awkwardly to the side. She looked up to the sky and closed her eyes slowly, "Я скоро буду дома, брат..." she whispered, the sound of a body hitting the stone snapped the girl out of her thoughts. Clint had knocked Natasha to the ground.
It was time.
"Tell my family I love them." The man instructed, Natasha returned the favor by tackling Clint to the ground. Amber walked slowly towards the edge of the cliff, only to be electrocuted by Nat. The girl ripped at the small bug on her chest, trying to get it off her as she shook. Amber tore it off of her and looked towards Nat when an exploding arrow went off, making the woman trip.
"ENOUGH!" Amber yelled, as she threw out her arms, sending Natasha and Clint tumbling backwards. The girl took a deep breath and ran to the cliff edge, closing her eyes as she jumped over the side. A jolt went through her arm and she looked up at Clint who had caught her, and was holding onto her.
"Let go!" Amber commanded, as she hung over the chasm, trying to pull out of his grasp.
"Damn you!" Clint shouted, "Natasha, pull us up!". Ambers eyes widened and all time froze as a body was hurtled off the side of the cliff, tumbling past the two teammates hanging off the edge. Amber screamed at the top of her lungs as Natasha plummeted down and hit the rocks with a crash. She could feel Clint shaking above her and tears poured down her face. Amber could feel her hand slipping out of Clint's, as he so desperately tried to pull her up.
Ambers hand escaped his grasp and she was sent down off the cliff face. Once again, she shut her eyes, awaiting an impact that- never came? The girl jolted up, she was surrounded by water and Clint sat beside her with a glowing stone in his hand. Amber looked at him fearfully as more tears dripped down her face. Clint yelled and slammed his fists against the ground out of anger. The twos Quantum Suit activated and they both shrunk back to the present day, soon joined by the others returning from their separate journey.
Ambers mouth was open and Clint and her were silent, as everyone looked around to see if they collected all of the stones. "Did we get them all?" Bruce questioned in excitement.
"You telling me this'll actually work?" Rhodey asked with a smile. Amber fell to her knees on the platform creating a small bang, she refused to meet anyone's questioning eyes as more tears fell.
The room went silent, as Steve walked closer to Clint and Amber, "Clint, Amber, where's Nat?" Bruce asked,
The silence from their two teammates told them all they needed to know. The mission was completed but at a dire cost, Sadness had overtaken everyone. Bruce falls to his knees and pounded the floor in grief. Steve approached the girl who was on her knees and crouched down beside her. He reached out to place a hand on the girls shoulder, only for it to be swatted away by her. Amber knelt in silence, guilt eating away at her, it should've been her.
Why couldn't it just be her?!
