After everyone packed their bags, they were off to Meghpur. Marcello, when he looked at the valley, he was devastated and looked at the once peaceful countryside became a village full of rotten crops, dead animals and cloudy weather with fog. Soulless and dead, everywhere! The people were not communicating with each other until its necessary and the joyless environment made it worse than ever.
After walking through, they've reached to Ama Didi's house. Arshad knocked the door. On a few minutes, Galel opened the door. Until, Galel gave a casual look at the others, until Marco's appearance terrified him because of his eyes. The wrinkles and the salt-pepper bearded look overshadowed his still charming and glazed eyes.
"Secretary Sir!" exclaimed and whispered Galel.
"Yes, Galel. Long time, is it?" said Marco in a deep voice.
"Come in" said Galel in a polite and hosting voice.
Everyone walked in. Ama Didi was still gazing at the window, until she heard loud walking thump she got up from the wooden chair. She looked at the back and what she saw that was never imagined for the whole lifetime. She walked a little crookedly. Looking at Marco, Ama was surprised and wept. She embraced the old man, as he really needed a long hug. It was a relief to most of the people in that room who really are ready to celebrate the joy, but it wasn't time, yet.
"Secretary sir, where were you all this time?" wept Ama Didi.
"Ayesha, my darling sister! I was there, watching you all the time" answered Marco.
Watching the scene, Wahid realized the innocence of Ayesha was hidden within Ama Didi. The younger Ama Didi, I mean Ayesha might be immature but a heartwarming supporter to Marcello. Marco rubbed her eyes and sat warmly. Galel smiled, having the biggest moment of life. Arshi realized that she wanted a family like never before, where her duties couldn't gave them time to understand the whole issue.
"This time, I am here sister! I might've been disappeared but where's Helal?" asked Marco.
Ama was silenced. But for a second thought, something was about to reveal that might either be a mighty horror or a great relief. Looking at Wahid, she said "your son's kindness and smile is a combination of both of you. You both are really are the match made in heaven"
"We all are family, aren't we? When something is taken away from you, something better awaits for you, isn't it?" said Marco.
"Yes, it is, but you need to know about Helal...
After Khalil and Shameem attempted to sever your head, we've thought you've died. Until, I saw Khalil dragged Sultana forcefully from home. It was messed up and a dangerous situation. She cried 'LET ME GO, BROTHER KHALIL!' Khalil attempted to rape her but found out that she had a baby bump and his ethics toned his rage down a bit. That's why he gently pulled her fainted body. In the middle of the Meghpur circle, he forcefully tied with a thorn rope, in a wooden crucifix. It was woodenly staged and bedded with hay, except the crucifix was a stand. It was more of an event to be remembered, and was sorrowful.
We supported you, Secretary Sir! Remember! We've witnessed that folly as such that Galel, Helal, Asif and I were shocked to see it. Sultana was partially burnt by Khalil's wretched people, not so much that it'll affect her full body! She was crying and screaming. Then Khalil avoided her cries and made a horrible speech-
"This witch shall be burnt to death. She had fled with Marcello Azad, our beloved secretary and a devil without our consent! My father, Shameem had contributed to our people, our love and pride. He was also killed by her 'treacherous' and 'lecherous' husband! Her burn is justified, PEOPLE OF MEGHPUR".
Everyone were so fearful of him that the people left but Helal and I secretly hid behind the crucifix, while some of the hay were already burnt. I untied the fainted lady who was about to die but Galel used the yogurt and raw mangoes to keep her alive, along with water.
I told Helal to pour water to Sultana's house and even the roadside restaurant. Galel and I took her to the bus. One of the passengers looked at the condition and claimed to be a doctor. We were relieved. I covered down the curtains, while Galel was reciting the verses, as a result for her wellbeing. I took out a beautiful baby boy, with an infinity scar on his shoulders. We smiled. Sultana was also alive. Then the doctor became her passenger mate.
I promised her "Don't ever let him come to this village, until the Hour will arrive and he'll become a man".
"Will I live to see it?" asked Sultana.
"You will be proud to see it" I said.
Galel and I got out from the bus. The day after that, we get to know that the ghastly attacks started. My husband, Helal passed away along with Shameem and Rashid. Also the other victims were killed like a pandemic of the unknown. Especially, beautiful women were vanished and Khalil even claimed that he wasn't involved other than Sultana's and the roadside hotel's burning. People fear of him, that's why he was voted as the sole government of this village. Until then, no one comes out at 6 o clock at the evening.
While people were busy, cleaning the village, my son, Mizan sacrificed his life to bring food to the people. The crops wouldn't have been dead! Also the animals and the flesh of the dead people. This became a disgusting role. Then Galel, Asif and I decided to create a secret society of ghost investigators, by the name 'Dayittya Binash Shebok Kendro' (Monsters Destroyers Society). We do investigate the murders secretly with other journalists by giving them clues but they're too scared to be in-depth of it, according to the corporate rules, as well as Khalil's 'temporary orders'. Until, I saw the ying-yang that was given back to Sultana, I realized that Wahid, the journalist is your child! I believed on his bravery, that's why I wasn't worried of how he would investigate all these. And Secretary Sir, at least your son have gotten you, a father. And yet, it's time to know the evil behind the calamity of Meghpur".
Marcello's eyes softened and understood the issues that's going around the valley. Looking at Ama Didi, there's a mystery that surrounded around the valley. However, Wahid who was listening to how he was born, mixed with a lot of emotions. All he wanted, was a family. But he couldn't ask anything better in Meghpur. Arshi grabbed his arms, looking at the man she doubted in the past, now realized the faith within him. She was not mature enough to understand the intensity back then, but this time, it was genuine.
Wahid got outside with Arshad. Arshad was under full of thoughts and a lot of baggage to carry. Walking through the lake, the soundless ambience had nourished the complexity, regarding the nature of the environment. No birds were humming. Moonlight was sleepless and a mess within the situation have unclear thoughts of what's to come. Yet, Meghpur people might be emotional but not always has a heartless or toxic environment as naturally were.
Looking at Wahid, he said "you know something? When I first saw you, I thought my elder brother had arrived. But, after hearing this, you're not only my brother from another mother, you're my teacher whom Ama Didi have mentioned. She told me that the curse that she made, is a prophecy that I've heard from Galel sir as a student, personally when I was a kid. My mom was a security guard in the city, whereas my dad was a farmer. Both were killed by the demon. By then, Ama Didi and Mizan adopted me as a brother and son. Some of your traits have also taught me to live your life to the fullest. Despite, I've finished my graduation, do you know why I stayed in the village? It's because to lit up the light to the valley as possible".
"I am not your teacher. I am just the way I am. You are the innocent one of the village. That's why I trust you bro. You're like a kid, I like that, you know? Everyone is a kid inside, it's just no one notices it" said Wahid.
Arshi, along with Ama Didi got out to watch the moon. But in the middle of the mud ground, fog was covered and was so dark that it turned into something more than a soundless phenomenon. It was an awkward silence. Even the birds do not chirp or sing and the moonlight faded. Something lurks in the shadows and the mist became darker as such that no one could see each other. Then they call each other's name from afar. Now the real fear begins its way!
