#21 — "I never said that."

Rob has been finding it hard to hide the feelings from you. If anything, he wanted to shout to the world that he was in love with you. Every time you would make him laugh, he would fall a little further. It was impossible not to love someone like you, it really was. The only burden between was the fact that you were in a relationship with another man.

It was even more hard for Rob to accept the fact that you were in love with somebody else, but lately, you haven't been acting like yourself. His phone calls with you would be shorter than usual. Movie night would arrive and you wouldn't be the talkative person he knew that you were. Tonight's dinner was even worse, he instantly noticed that you didn't touch your food.

"[Y/N], are you feeling okay?" rob asked out of the blue, capturing the attention of everyone at the table. You raise your eyes to meet with his, but quickly went back to staring at your untouched food. Rob sighed and put down his fork. "[Y/N], you don't look okay, what's going on?"

You slam your spoon onto the table and harshly scoot out from underneath the table. Rob's eyes followed you as you remove yourself from the table. It was clear that you weren't okay. Rob scooted out from the table and sped to catch up with you.

"[Y/N], I'm sorry to put you on the spot like that," rob called out apologetically. "please don't be mad."

"I never said that." you express, coming to a complete stop. You turn to face Rob, the truth on the tip of your tongue. "I'm sorry Rob, it's just that...I..."

Rob was quick to observe your fallen facial expression. He stepped close to you and wrapped you into his arms, giving you a warm hug. You inhale deeply as you feel his hand rub circles in your back, it made you feel better already. Rob pulled away and stared deep into your eyes.

"If you're ready to tell me what's going on, I'm here to listen to every single word."

"He broke up with me Rob," you confess, your bottom lip begun to tremble from the thought. "he...he cheated on me."

A tightened feeling was felt in his chest. You didn't want to say anymore and went back into a hug. Rob accepted it and held you close, pressing your body closer to his.

"I love you [Y/N]," he whispered gently. "I want you to always know that."

"I love you too Rob."
