His Master: Sugar and spice
Cute. The cursed word flew out of Elizabeth's mouth and made Rin want to die.
"Can I change now?" Rin asked, his cheeks burning in embarrassment as he stared at himself in the mirror.
He wore a bright pink dress with large frills and cringed at the clashing of colors. The dress did not look cute in the slightest. With his dark blue hair donning pigtails that were slightly uneven and choppy with ribbons dangling from them, Rin looked like a catastrophe; as if he got in a fight with one of Sebastian's hidden cats in the closet and came out as some sort of disorientated ragdoll.
Elizabeth wore an expression of self-doubt and it was obvious she too felt the same. "W-why don't we try yellow? I think yellow will suit you better."
Elizabeth grabbed at a nearby dress and held it out, the bright yellow fabric earning a groan from Rin. "You don't like it?" She asked. "Fine, let's try sapphire."
Rin was handed a dress and dragged himself to go change. When he returned, he seemed dead inside as his soulless eyes stared blankly at Elizabeth who finally gasped and clapped with glee.
"Adorable! Perfect! This is the one!" She squealed as she jumped up and down.
Rin gave no response as he watched her, his entire being filled with an empty abyss of nothingness. He was lost until the sound of something in the distance snapped him back to his senses. It was loud and almost sounded like a bundle of firecrackers...
He instantly whipped his head towards the door and couldn't keep the disbelief off his face. Had Bardroy really went and caused an explosion while Ciel's fiancee was there?
"Rin? Is something the matter?" Elizabeth inquired.
"N-no! Nothing at all!" Rin replied, smiling sheepishly.
Elizabeth gave him a doe-eyed look as she placed a slender finger to her lips and turned her head slightly. "Oh?"
More noises tickled Rin's ears, only this time, loud pops could be heard. Gunfire?
"L-let's go to the garden!" Rin stated, quickly rushing to Elizabeth and gently urging her out of the room.
Something had to be wrong. The noises were too violent to be merely accidents and Rin couldn't help but wonder what was happening. All he knew was that he had to keep Elizabeth safe for the time being. At least until he could investigate.
Rin led her outside to the garden and sighed. The sounds no longer seemed to fill the air and Elizabeth was content picking flowers. Things had finally returned to normal.
"I wonder why there's a pile of dirt over here?" Elizabeth inquired. "It's fresh too. Do you think there's hidden treasure under here?"
Rin approached and stopped at a large mound of dirt. All the color drained from his face as he shuddered. Something told him the answer was no.
"Don't touch it. Let's just go back inside."
"Eh? But we just got out here? I'm not finished making your crown--"
"We'll finish later!" Rin replied, quickly pushing against her to lead her back inside.
Elizabeth begrudgingly obliged, the half finished crown of flowers crumbling apart in her hands as she walked.
When the two entered the mansion, Rin instantly regretted being born. The humiliation and shame returned with a vengeance and a part of him suspected it was planned from the beginning.
