Chapter 30
The storm raged on outside. Buckets upon buckets of rain poured down while thunder rumbled in the distance. "I hope Leah's ok." I say. "I'm pretty sure she is." Jake said. I sigh. The storm is getting horrible. I'm surprised it hasn't started flooding. All of a sudden there was a snap and a big thud. "What was that?" I ask. "Sounded like a tree falling." Sue said. "I'm going to check on Aiden." Jake said getting up. He comes back a few minutes later. "He ok?" I ask. "Oh yeah he's cuddled up to Seth's chest still." Jake said. I smile. A few seconds later the door swings open. Leah comes in the door soaking wet. I get up to greet her. I notice her leg is bleeding. "Leah what happened to your leg?" I ask. She doesn't answer her eyes roll into the back of her head and she falls to the floor. "Leah!" I cry. Sue runs over to us. "Her leg needs to be wrapped up." Sue said. "I'll help you." I say as I help Sue take Leah to her room. Sue takes the wet clothes off of her. I wrap her leg. I wrap her in a blanket. "You think she'll be ok?" I ask. "Yeah she'll be fine. Thank you for helping me." Sue said. "Your welcome. I'd do anything for her. She's my friend." I say. Sue hugs me. We go back into the living room with Jake. I rest my head on his chest and try to sleep. But all I can think about is Leah. The next morning I wake up on the couch by myself. I look around for Jake. I see him in the kitchen with Aiden. I get up and go into the kitchen. "Good morning." Jake says. "Morin. Where's Seth?" I ask. "He went for a run." Jake said. I didn't even notice Sue was in the kitchen. "Good morning Abby. I hope you like pancakes." She says. "Yeah I do. Thank you." I say. Sue tries to say something but I hear a groan. "I'll go check on her." I say walking towards Leah's room. "Morning. How ya feeling?" I ask her. "My leg is killing me." Leah said. "When did you guys get here?" She asks. "Last night. We came for a visit when the storm hit." I explained. "What happened to you last night?" I ask. "It's stupid really. I was in my wolf form when the storm hit. I found a cave. I decided to stay there. Well little did I know that a porcupine had also taken shelter there. I back right into it. I managed to pull the quills out but my leg was still bleeding. That's why I came back here." I can't help but smile a little. That sounds like something that would happen to me not Leah. "Go get my nephew." Leah said smiling. I go get Aiden and give him to Leah. "Ya know. Before you moved here.... I really didn't have any friends. I mean there's the pack but they get annoying after a while. When you moved here... for the first time in a long time I actually had a friend to talk to. And you've made Jake so happy. You've given him a beautiful son. Thank you Abby for being here." I carefully wrap my arms around her. "Please don't tell anyone I said that." I laugh. "No problem Leah." "I've been wanting to say that for a while but I couldn't find the words to put it together." Leah said. "I'm glad I moved here too. I didn't have that many friends back in my home town either. I'm just glad you decided to be my friend. I'd rather have you as a friend then an enemy." I say. I look down at Aiden who is asleep in Leah's arms. "You know he's going to be just like Jacob." I say. Leah looks at me. "Let's hope not." I bust out laughing. Jake comes in. "Babe Sam needs me and Seth for something. We'll be back later." He says. I nod. "Guess your stuck with us for a little bit Leah." I say. "Fine with me." She says. Today's going to be fun. I can feel it
