~~~Nightmare's POV~~~

I woke up feeling someone hugging me. I slowly opened my eyes to face Y/N in front of me, asleep, and hugging me. I could tell I was blushing madly. 'I need to get out of her grip.... but this does feel nice.' I thought and closed my eyes again, allowing the warmth to wrap around me. I sighed in content at this. "So warm." I mumbled.

"Your that warm huh?" My eyes bolted open as I stared Y/N in the face. I felt my blush come back ten fold.

"I-I, uh, I-I-I didn't mean t-to wake you. S-Sorry." I stammered and looked away from Y/N's face.

"It's fine. In fact you're warm as well." She said, causing me to look at her, and she leaned into me and cuddled into my chest. 'To be honest I expected her to not want to touch me from the goop on me.' I thought and cautiously wrapped my arms around her upper back into a hug, making her come closer. I looked at her (h/c) hair curiously and sniffed it. 'It smells like apples.' I thought and smiled a little wider. I closed my eyes, enjoying the moment.

"We should probably get up. I still have to go to school." She said, kind of ruining the mood, I opened my eyes as she started getting up. I gave her a confused look.

"What's school?" I asked her as I sat up and watched her head to her closet, probably to pick out clothes.

"School is where people go to learn things, it's pretty boring, and gruesome there." She almost mumbled the last part and put her hands to her throat. I looked at that area curiously and noticed the skin was an oddly yellowish color. 'How did I not notice that before?' I thought. "Anyways, you're going to get to experience it today." I smiled.

"Sounds fun." I said and continued to stare at her as she just stood there with her clothes in hand. She was giving me this weird look. We stared at each other before I finally decided to ask her. "Is something wrong?" I asked worried I did something to make her upset. She laughed nervously.

"N-No, but, uh, can you exit the room so I can change?" She asked, My eyes widened.

"Oh! yeah. I-I'll be outside when your done." I said and teleported out into the hall.

We were walking down the road, luckily the man and woman were still asleep, 'Maybe I hurt them a bit too much.' I shook off the thought. 'No they deserved it. They tried to hur-' My thoughts were cut off as I tripped on something. I quickly caught myself before I face planted into the-what did Y/N call it?-cement?

"Oh my gosh, are you okay Nightmare!" Y/N whispered to me, since there were people around.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. I just tripped over my thoughts." I joked causing her to giggle. I smiled wider and used my tentacles to lift myself into a standing position.

"Anyways, come on we're almost there." She whispered to me and I nodded and followed her.

We soon reached a fairly large building with, kids? I think, going into the building with backpacks on. Some got off of buses, others out of cars, and some even just came from different streets. 'Must've walked here like us.' I thought. I looked in how many humans were here. It was amazing, yet....

Scary.

I could feel myself slightly sweat from the amount of people.

I felt a tug on my jacket and looked over at Y/N. She gave an encouraging smile to me and mouthed 'Don't worry, you'll be okay. Just stay near me.' I nervously smiled back, feeling slightly Determined, and nodded. We headed into the building of people.

I kept my hands in my pockets, not wanting to touch any of the people here, everyone here dressed in many different ways. Some showing a lot of skin, others not showing much, or some wearing glasses, heck some even had metal in their mouths on their teeth. I shuddered at the thought of that. Y/N seemed to notice my shudder as she gave a concerned look and reached a metal door. I gave her a quick reassuring smile and looked at the metal door curiously.

"It's a locker. It holds my school stuff." She whispered to me and started deciphering the spinning lock on the doorway. I watched curiously as she entered a certain code and started opening her 'locker'. She opened the door and I looked into it curiously. Inside was a jacket that hung on a metal hook, some books above it, and a couple extra hooks. She put her backpack onto one of the hooks and grabbed a few of the books at the top then closed the locker door. "Come on, my first period is english." She whispered. I nodded and we started walking down the hallway to her first period.

We entered into the room and I stared at it in awe. It had tables attached to chairs all facing a white board. On the ceiling was a weird plastic box with a lens on it. I followed Y/N as she sat near the back of the class, away from most of the other people. I followed her and stood next to her. She looked over at me and nodded to the table next to her. I got the idea and sat next to her in the chair. 'This chair is really uncomfortable.' I thought to myself as, what seemed to be another adult, came in. My eye flared.

I watched as Ms. McKenzie came in and felt the air next to me get tense. I glanced over at Nightmare and noticed his eye flared. 'Shit, he isn't going to attack my teacher is he?!' I thought. I quietly cleared my throat and Nightmare looked over at me. I shook my head and mouthed 'No' to him. He frowned but his eye died out and his pupils came back. He watched my teacher with a glare. I sighed. "Okay class, today we are learning about Grammer. Please pull out your books to page 47." Ms. McKenzie instructed and I pulled out my notebook and text book. I could feel Nightmares curious gaze on me, but decided to ignore it for now.

About halfway through class I was glanced at Nightmare and noticed he had fallen asleep on the desk. I quietly chuckled to myself, he looked cute. I blushed slightly and kept watching him sleep, his ribcage rising and falling slowly, like a normal human's. 'I don't think he needs to breath. Does he? Maybe I should ask him when-' "MS. (L/N)!" A voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

I quickly looked forward. "Y-Yes, ma'am?" I asked and everyone snickered. Ms. McKenzie Sighed in frustration.

"I said, 'Can you give the answer to number 6?'." She said sternly.

"O-Oh, Yes it's-" I answered the question, not realizing Nightmare staring at me.

~~~Nightmare's POV~~~

(AAANNDDD we're back! told ya)

I was jolted awake by a loud voice. My eye blazed in surprise, but quickly settled when I realized I was in the school. 'I must've fell asleep.' I thought and looked over at Y/N who was blushing like mad. "I said, 'Can you give the answer to number 6?'." I heard the woman ask in a stern voice. I glared at her as she stared blankly at Y/N. Everyone kept either snickering or smirking. It was getting on my nerves. I looked at Y/N who looked kind of scared and lost my glare as I just stared at her.

"O-Oh, Yes it's-" She answered the question.

"Good, Now then class-" The woman started, I zoned her out as I continued to look at Y/N who looked defeated as she kept writing.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked Y/N. She just glanced at me and shook her head 'No'. I frowned, I didn't like her being down. I quickly thought of a way to cheer her up. "How do you cheer up a ghost?" I asked her. She shrugged, but didn't look at me this time. "You put them in an elevator to lift their spirits." I said. She smiled, but didn't laugh. It was good enough for me though. I smiled softly.

"Knock knock." She whispered suddenly. I smiled wider.

"Who's there?" I asked.

"Dishes."

"Dishes who?"

"Dishes a very back joke." She whispered and started chuckled under her breath. I chuckled along with her.

"Who's the greatest skeleton detective?" I asked her.

"Who?"

"Sherlock Bones." I said causing her to laugh a little harder. She put a hand over her mouth to conceal her laughs while I was chuckling at her facial expression.

Alas our fun was ended shortly when the woman noticed Y/N holding back her laughs. "Ms. L/N, what is oh-so funny that you have to interrupt class?" She asked. Y/N stopped laughing immediately, and looked at the woman in slight fear.

"N-Nothing, ma'am." Y/N said. The woman sighed and went on with her lecture as other students snickered at Y/N. I glared at them, but it did nothing as no one could see me. I sighed in defeat and rested my head on the desk once more allowing myself to close my eyes.

I was just about to sleep when a ringing noise sounded throughout the room. I bolted up and looked around as everyone, even Y/N, was getting there stuff together. Y/N got up and indicated me to follow her. A few people gave her a weird look, but I ignored them and followed her into the hallway. Once we were far away from the room we went down the hallway and into another room. I gave a confused look at the room as it looked the same, yet different. I looked over at Y/N "Shouldn't we be heading home now?" I asked her. She looked over at me and shook her head. "Why not?" I asked.

"School lasts for around  8 hours a day. There are 7 periods which last around 45 minutes each, and around the middle of the day we eat lunch." She whispered to me. I nodded my head in understanding and this time she sat in the middle of the room. I was about to sit down as well when she tugged my sleeve.

"What?" I asked.

"Someone else sits there, you might have to stand this period unless Tyler isn't here, which he usually isn't." She said, I just nodded and waited for the other people to arrive.

~(Time Skip to lunch!! yay free food!!)~

We arrived in the 'Cafeteria' as Y/N called it, before her next 'Class' she told me that she has first lunch, which lasts about 20 minutes. I waited around the back corner as she went to get her lunch. I looked at the various humans before me. Some had different colored skin, or slanted eyes, even different colored hair like red or purple, It was kind of weird.

I looked at the many different people before me but one person stuck out. He had an orange shirt with some weird drawing on it, a black leather jacket, and some jeans. His hair was like a gold color, 'clearly fake.' I thought. He was eyeing someone from across the cafeteria, although who it was I wasn't sure neither did I care. He soon walked off to join a group of people.

"Hey, you okay?" I looked over to Y/N who was staring at me.

"O-Oh, sorry, um. L-Let's go." I said to her, she nodded and walked over to one of the many tables, but this one didn't have anyone sitting there. I didn't mind though. I looked at what was on the tray and it was a bundle of random foods that I didn't recognize.

Y/N giggled making me look up at her. "What?" I asked confused.

"Your face looks funny." She said and giggled more. My eyes widened in surprise for a moment before I started laughing with her.

"What are you laughing at twerp?" A voice interrupted our laughter. We both looked up to see...

The boy from earlier!?

My eyes widened at this. 'Who is he? Why is he here?' I thought as I started to glare at him.

"Go away Shawn." Y/N said in a slightly frantic tone.

"No can do, twerp. I want your lunch today. I'm super hungry."

"What! No!" I was getting angry.

"Who said you had a choice?" He said and shoved Y/N into me. I caught her easily and glared at this 'Shawn' guy. He grabbed Y/N's lunch and looked at her with an evil smirk. "Thanks for the lunch dweeb, oh! and here's a goodbye present." He said and in a swift motion his fist landed in Y/N's stomach, causing her to loose her breath, and withdrew his fist.

He laughed as he started walking away, but I wasn't having it. I used one of my tentacles to grab his foot and trip him. He face planted onto the floor. Hard. I knew as a crack was heard. I cringed at the sound, knowing I broke some bone.

He got up from the floor, the food all over the floor along with some red liquid. He held onto his face and glared at Y/N who stared at him in amazement. The red liquid was falling from his hand making me realize it was blood. I smiled, happy with what I did. He got up off the floor and walked up to Y/N, clearly pissed. My eye flared up protectively as Y/N backed into me in fear.

"What. The. Hell. Did. You. Do?" He asked clearly pissed off. Y/N shook in fear.

"I-I D-Didn't mean t-to-" She was cut off by Shawn smacking her in the face.

"Thats for tripping me." He said and smacked her again on the other cheek. "And that's for breaking my nose." He said, but clearly wasn't done as he grabbed her throat. My eye flared even brighter as I grabbed his soul. He froze instantly.

I got up from sitting and forced his hand open making him drop Y/N. I caught her and gently put her down. "You okay?" I asked her. She was clearly crying but nodded anyways.

"Hey!" I heard someone yell out. I looked over as a 'Teacher' came over, I quickly released Shawn, and he fell to the floor. I chuckled but looked up to the Man who came over. "What happened here!?" He yelled then looked at Y/N, "Are you okay ma'am?" He asked her and Y/N shook her head 'No'. He looked at her concerned then glanced at Shawn. "Did you do this?" He asked and again she shook her head 'No'.

 I could see the disbelieve in his eyes, but he just sighed. "Okay, come with me." He said and held a hand out to her. She didn't take it but instead started walking past him, he sighed and started walking in front of her.

I followed them out, glancing back in time to see two other Teachers help pick up Shawn and take him the opposite direction we were going. 'Good' I thought to myself and continued following Y/N. I soon reached by her side. She looked over at me and gave a sad smile. I smiled back softly and held her hand. Squeezing it reassuringly. She squeezed back and looked forward again. I looked forward as well, but kept looking at her from the corner of my eye. 'I hope I didn't go overboard.' I thought to myself worriedly.

HOLY WOW!! almost 3000 words! I told you this one would be long! ;3 And it was a 2 day project! so sorry if you were super excited for it yesterday and only for me to burn that bridge. Also I may or may not update forced resets today since I had to take a couple days to update this chapter, so don't be too expectent for the update, sorry. T= Anywho!
