What happens when a mad dash for funds and renown causes an accidental apocalypse?

Laureen Anston, an up-and-coming archaeologist, faces threats of defunding and disbanding her team unless she brings something of value. Upon finding an abandoned child in the dig, she discovers a ticking clock towards the end times. Now, she has to resist authorities, put her career and relationships on the line, and stop the apocalypse she may have played a part in, before her world becomes another excavation site.
