Dear Pam!

For the next few weeks, everything went as per their plans while guilt piled up in Enzo's heart. People of Sandalwood Central had begun to question if it was really okay to have a young woman like Maya lead them, when she couldn't even catch the corruption in her own office. They wouldn't say that out loud, but whispers had begun, thanks to the two men on a mission insinuating them. Jonah and Enzo just had to murmur and the whispers began from the gym and spread like wild fire. All the kindness, all the sacrifice, all the efforts and everything she had endured together with the citizens, were disregarded just like that. It is true! People talk about the bad in a person more than the good. There were whispers that called her a nepotism product. And Maya thought she could ignore them! But she could only do so much.

And at night, when she would drag her tired body and desperate soul to equip it with the basics of self defense, Enzo would ask gently

"How do you feel, Maya?"

And that meant a lot to her. Her heart kept fluttering, her body had started to yearn for him and she felt like she was close to tasting the forbidden fruit.

This was a learning lesson for Jonah too.  He was now aware of the fact that public opinion, is as light as a tissue paper. It keeps wavering with each gentle wind. And if there is a strong wind, it will fly away. And Enzo was not a gentle breeze. He was the storm.

If there was anyone who had managed to preserve their happiness, then that would one person - Liam Morelli. Enzo was now updating him every day and they were getting close to the execution of their master plan. According to the information Avery has passed, there was time gap in the darkest hours of night, when the guards that guarded the fort of Sandalwood Central, would take a light nap. And that would be the time when they would make an entry. It was the perfect timing for them to wreak havoc. And Liam chose the perfect day for it.

"5 days from now, when the moon would shine the brightest, Foxfield will be taking revenge on these worms!"

And Enzo obeyed. He didn't want to stay there anymore. 4 months had already passed. His heart  knew for whom did it beat for. Since Gabriel was not seen all these months and he had found a way to guarantee Liam's entry to the town without claiming her heart, Enzo felt relieved. Breaking her trust is one thing and seducing her was another thing. He didn't want to stoop till that level. If she was to fall for him, Enzo wasn't sure how his heart would react to that. If he was to fake affection, Enzo knew it would be impossible to not get too much attached. This way, he might be able to convince his conscience that this was just another job.

"Waffles and ice cream? Is there something special today?"

The gym members found it ironic for their gym trainer Enzo, who is usually as strict as hell, was distributing calorie bombs in their gym. There were hardly 3 days till the havoc was all set to break into this town. In other words, Enzo was arranging his version of the last feast for them. What would happen if their plan was to become successful, was unpredictable. Except the fact that Liam would finally have control over the only place he didn't have before, the rest of it was going to be a sight they would realize only when it would unfold on its own.

"It is my birthday and I wanted to treat you all. You guys are my family now!"

Liar! You don't betray family like that. Still, his fake birthday was celebrated with genuine wishes. He even received few gifts. From the child from the tea shop who gifted him a handwritten birthday card to the young guy who sang a nice song for him at the gym, Enzo was accepting the warmth he didn't deserve.

"Are you going to keep all that with you?" Jonah spotted Enzo pack them into his bag and Enzo nodded in response. "I am shameless, right?"

Enzo sat back on his bed.

"You know, I had never treated anyone on my birthdays."

"I don't blame you. It is Foxfield!"

"That is not it. Liam would throw a huge party and everyone just drank till they saw darkness. And I would go back to my grandma. She was still working as a rag picker and despised me. But, on my birthdays, she was kind towards me. She would...."

Enzo could not complete his words. Tears begged to be let free from his eyes but he paid no head to it.

"I couldn't even bid her good bye! Liam had to take care of everything like a son while I am selfishly...."

"So even your birthdays belonged for Liam to celebrate?"

Jonah received a glare for that question.

"Nothing will be the same ever for me, Jonah!"

"In 3 days, neither will it be for this town and Maya. At least, you will be going back to a mansion with drinks and girls and money. Liam Morelli will finally be able to destroy this place, thanks to you. We should be proud! We are going to turn this place into another hell"

Jonah was going a bit over board with his sarcasm.

Right then! Right then, they heard the sound of crockery breaking. That too right outside their room. Shit! Did someone over hear them? They had been very careful all this while and had always covered their tracks. Enzo headed forwards and opened the door only to discover a horrified Pam, the receptionist of Misty Inn. And at her feet, they saw the dinner she brought scattered into bits.

"Wh...what did you just say? Who are you?"

Her eyes were trembling, lips were shaking and her whole body had a tremor!

"I nee...I need to tell Maya! You cheats..."

"Pam! I am so sorry about this!"

She tried to turn! She had to make haste! This was the only way to save themselves.

Enzo pulled her with one hand and had his hands cover her mouth. Jonah watched in horror as he made her unconscious by not letting her breath. Her body swirled, her legs tried as much as it could, but how long could she have withstood the testosterone-monster Enzo was!

"Are you going to kill her, now?"

Enzo contemplated. He had an answer.

"We just have to keep her shut for 3 days. After that, who cares! It will be out either way!"

Now they just had to find a hiding spot. Jonah checked the time. It was 7.30 p.m. Maya will be knocking their door by 10 o clock for their lessons and they had 2 and a half hours to silence Pam.

Now the question remained, where to hide her?

*************************

"You are sure this is a good idea?" Enzo was trusting Jonah as it was their only option, but he still wasn't convinced.

"Do you have any other idea?"

Enzo did not have any. Avery's abandoned house was the only place Jonah could think of. He already had the keys that he stole from Maya's office. Locking her up there for 3 days was affordable to them. Thankfully, Avery was residing close to a sugarcane farm, an area with mostly empty houses, where there was no CCTV.

Their plan was simple. To hide a tied up Pam and confine her for 3 days in Avery's abandoned house that was in a very convenient and quiet spot. Enzo and Jonah were to take turns to feed her but only at night, just for the next 3 days.

This would have been successful had Pam not regain her consciousness on their way. She stayed very quiet and used the skills she had learned from the self defense classes to untie her knot. And she waited. Till the car slowed down, when a dog had crossed the road. She swiftly got out and screamed with all her might. Luck was not with her. Her voice dissolved into thin air and now she ran while Enzo and Jonah chased her back. Enzo reversed the car, while Jonah chased her by foot. She ran as fast as she could, reaching up until the main road.

"PAM!!!!WAIT!"

Pam turned her head in response to Jonah call out her name.

"YOU BETRAYER! WHAT SIN HAD WE DONE TO YOU!" She ran. For one last time.

Again! Luck had abandoned her completely.

"Aaaaarrggghhhhhhhh!"

In front of his eyes, Jonah saw that. Pam couldn't even exhale! Within milliseconds, her body was thrown into the air by a truck that was running at a speed of 90 km per hour. Jonah even heard the muffled sound of her spine break, that collided with the sound of the collision she had with the floor.

Pam died! Just like that.

And Jonah froze! Like a huge slab of ice in Antarctica. Before he could even react or reach out to her, Enzo had arrived with their car.

"Sh...she..."

Jonah couldn't even complete and Enzo dragged him back to the car and reversed it again.

"You didn't step on the road, right?"

Jonah nodded yes, while tightly grabbing the seat belt.

"Did the truck driver see you?"

Noe he nods no.

"Good, then we are neither on the CCTV nor are there any witnesses. We will leave through the short cut."

There was no change in Enzo's expressions but his hands shook for some weird reason.

"Jon..Jonah!" There came no response. The moment when she had an eye contact with him, Jonah was still reeling that moment. The helplessness in her eyes, the pain in her voice! He would have to live with that for the rest of his life!

"JONAH!"

Enzo screamed as loud as he could and now Jonah took few breaths. Tears run down from his eyes, and he howled loud!

"Let it out if you must, Jonah! But your tears should stop the moment we reach our Inn. We have come too far now and there is no way out. 3 days! We need to hold out for 3 days!"

Enzo knew they will be able to do that. They had removed the fuse before stuffing Pam into the backseat of their car and hence the CCTV camera of the Inn couldn't have recorded anything. They left using darkness as a shield, so none of the inmates could have seen anything. Then it occurred to him, the Inn was mostly empty. Even if someone was to question the sound of their vehicle leaving, they can just make up some story. And no one had seen them with Pam. For 3 days, they will be able to hold out. After that, who cares!

Really, Enzo?

*****************************

Once again, luck took his side.

The CCTV only showed Pam running into the road and the truck crashing into her. But they were met with a question.

"Where were you both at that time?"

And he had a story ready.

Since it was Enzo's birthday, the brothers had gone out for a ride. They never saw Pam, they never heard from her.

The evidences were scanty. Except the fact that a pair of crockery set had broken and Pam was found in a place she had never gone before. And the fact that she was running! Running for her life! But from whom? And why? And there were marks in her hand that suggested she was tied up. But as luck would have it for him, there was no forensic surgeon in that hospital. Truly, they never needed one. So no autopsy was done and Pam's body was cremated in 2 days.

"Forgive me, Pam! Curse me from afterlife but I am just doing my job!"

Enzo let a drop of tear out, while watching her body burn into ashes. And Jonah? He never slept the same.

Maya was in front for organizing the funeral. Like a daughter to her mother.

But she had made a promise to the woman who fed her everyday.

"I swear on my father, Pam! I will find out what happened! Forgive me for not being there for you!"
