Personality: Nino speaks in fluent sarcasm, and tends to enjoy keeping to herself. She's rather secretive, and finds it hard to trust others. Despite this, Nino's rather curious, perhaps a little too much for her own good. Cunning, creative, and resourceful, she's quick to think on her feet. While it's difficult to become her friend, those Nino's bonded to find that she's rather thoughtful.
Appearance: Nino is a little shorter than average, and is a little underweight. She has black, straight, mid-neck-length hair, almond skin, and the green eyes attributed to many earthbenders. Nino's usually seen in traditional sandbender attire, along with a simple bracelet made out of sandstone.

If so, element: Earth, with a specialty in the sandbending subset.
Weapons: None, unless you count the element she bends.
Strengths: Nino is quick on her feet, and skilled in either keeeping small groups of people at bay or properly fighting one person at a time.
Weaknesses: A good rule to live by is when in doubt, yeet Nino. It's rather easy to pick her up and throw her, and she'll be stunned for a bit. Furthermore, she can very easily be overwhelmed by group attacks.
Pets: A deer dog (whose breed is reminiscent of a Canaan dog) named Ralu.

Why travel? Forced out of her home about ten years ago by the Earth King, Nino now wanders with her pet.
Background: Nino was a member to a small sandbending tribe, one that usually profited by helping lead travellers through the desert. However, this tribe was split up when the Earth King seized the Si Wan Desert, and Nino and her parents moved to the Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se.
Life was harder out of the desert, but the family got by. However, with the growing nationalism within the Earth Kingdom, sandbenders like Nino and her family were discriminated.
Their home was attacked overnight.
Nino was the only one who managed to survive.
Since then, Nino's lived on the streets, playing into the stereotype that sandbenders are theives by becoming just that simply to survive.
