That night, after Andrea had given us makeovers and I had lent them dresses, we went downstairs and saw the boys waiting for us by the front door. Stephen grabbed Andrea and swung her around and laughing, we all walked to the community hall.
After we had been dancing for a while, Josh pulled me outside onto the beach. The stars shone bright overhead and the waves crashed soothingly against the sand. It was so beautiful. After we had been sitting for a while, the others came out and joined us. We sat on the beach and listened to the music coming faintly from the hall. I started singing along to the song that was playing: "We wander round in circles and we talk in squares, but as long as we're together we can go anywhere. I looked around at my friends and knew that this was our place. A place for us.
