[Reminder: Whole chapter is a flashback type thingy carrying on from the last flashback - confusing, I know xD]

"I don't want anything from you," this confused me for a moment, "But that man that you encountered..." he gestured towards my wrist, "Sure does want something. Something that you're unaware that you have."

My expression matched that of my feelings. Shocked. What would someone want with me? I'm just a normal girl - with oddly terrifying nightmares.

"I'm sure that you have many questions which I will be sure to answer shortly, but let me ask you one,"

It felt like eternity before he continued.

"Do you know who that man is?"

I stood there baffled. I mean, I have no idea who he is and I sure as heck don't want to find out. But what really scares me is the fact that my nightmares have obviously consisted of him and that straight afterwards I see him in real life.

"Yes, not personally though. Recently I've been having these nightmares and I have reason to believe that he is the topic of each one." I don't know why I am telling him all of this, but if he wanted to harm me he has had plenty of chances to do so.

"Reason to believe?" He seemed puzzled.

"Well, I could never remember them that was, until the most recent one in which he was there. The strangest thing is that the nightmare basically replayed itself in real life immediately after." I shuddered slightly remembering the events of yesterday. Was it yesterday?

He's right. There's so many questions I want to ask.

"Your name?" He questioned, "I told you mine, so what's yours?"

"Mae." I replied cautiously. I glanced around me, taking in my surroundings. We were positioned in the mouth of a cave and I was sat on a makeshift bed. Beside us was a fire which was kindled by some logs. Why a cave?

"Could I ask a favour of you?" I queried, peering down at my arm. He nodded in reply and I continued, "Can you tell me everything. From the start,"

I mean, I do have a right to know.

"You might want to get yourself comfortable," He seemed to shift uneasily whilst perched on a rock. Something tells me that this is going to be hard to comprehend.

"It started a long time ago. The place that you call Earth used to go by a different name. Edolas. It was a world with a limited amount of magical power that needed to be replenished,"

Am I meant to take this seriously?

"And so small portals called Animas were created. They took magic essence from an alternate world with an infinite amount of magical power. You could say that it was an alternate universe, filled with different versions of ourselves living different lives. But it got out of hand, so wizards from that alternate world helped the heir to the throne in Edolas return the magic that was stolen back through the Animas. As a result of this, all the magic from Edolas was sucked out and placed back into this alternate world,"

I sat there blankly. Was this all true? Was magic real?

"It has only been a few years since that happened. It seems that time started to work differently after the magic disappeared. I thought that all magic had left Edolas and that the people there couldn't be a source of power themselves. That was until this man you saw in your dreams had started visiting this world. His name is Zeref. The most powerful dark mage ever to exist in Earth Land - the alternate world. We knew that there had to be a reason as to why he would go through so much trouble to get here and I finally found out why. Because of you."

I stared back at him in shock, "Me?!"

"When I tracked him down he was at a school and immediately when I approached the grounds I felt the overwhelming presence of magical power and it wasn't Zeref's. Instantly I knew what he was after, this power. As a precaution I cast a sleeping spell to avoid anyone from getting hurt-"

Ah so that's what it was.

"S-So you're a wizard?" I was finding this all terribly hard to believe although it did start to make some sense. Especially after all of the crazy things that have been happening to me lately. But if I'm here and that dark mage guy was searching for-
"Wait you're not telling me that-"

"Yes. You are the source of this unbelievable power. I thought for sure that he would take you but when I found you I was most surprised. Then it occurred to me that you must have touched him due to the injury on your arm. Zeref tends to stay away from all lifeforms due to a curse bestowed on him which meant that he had a tendency to kill everything he went near or touched. I think that he was so shocked that you didn't die that he fled, not knowing what to do." He seemed almost pained to tell me this. I wonder whether something happened between them.

'How come you're not dead?' The question he had asked me suddenly echoed through my mind. So that's what he had meant.

"It wasn't just me that was affected," this peaked his interest, "He seemed in just as much pain as I was from the encounter but tried hard not to show it."

"You're handling this very well," He poked around the logs in the fire with a stick, glancing up every now and again.

"Yeah, I guess everything just seems to make sense now," I shrugged.

"There is one thing though, that I don't think you will take very well," His eyes dotted about the cove looking very guilty.

"You can't go back. It's too dangerous there for you."

"Wait, what do you mean go back?!" My voice started to raise in pitch and volume. I felt as if I had been abducted by aliens.

"Whilst you were out, we came back through an unclosed Anima to Fiore, Earth Land."

I hope that cleared some things up for you! It was a slightly shorter chapter than previous but I managed to include everything that I wanted to for this one.
