I really like your beginning where you stated the anticipation of all monsters. Maybe you could have explained what a Nekomata is at the start instead of so far back as some readers might stop reading due to not understanding. It isn't very clear which character you're referring to and I often got confused between Takibi and Kane. A few typos but overall your grammar is good.          *The cover can use some work but I do like the color of it. Dark academia vibes, nice. Putting a cat is good because as you probably already know, it symbolizes the Nekomata.

I enjoy the storyline quite a lot and I realized that you visualized the scenarios which is a very good thing to do as it interests your audience.  Also did well bringing out the relationship between Kibi and Kane, it really shows how they're both very fond of each other despite having to be separated. You described everything very well including actions and looks.

Though you do have to work on your description. It's too short and doesn't show why your story is worth reading. Try talking more about being a monster in the human realm, the perks and flaws of being different or unique and if you're focused on the romance, emphasize their relationship.

For the characters, elaborate on personality. Describe your characters in such way your audience can relate to them and imagine themselves in the story. This can help build interest and allow your audience to willingly continue reading. End your chapter with something more exciting, let's say a cliffhanger. Your audience will then await your next chapter and also further read your story to ease their curiosity.
