Once in the 1500's 1509 to be exact, there lived a family of skilled slayers, among them was a girl who was unsurpassed in her skills by anyone. They along with other slayer families in that time killed thousands of dark creatures including demons, vampires and werewolves. This story starts one night at an engagement party for the exceptional slayer girl who was betrothed to another fine slayer in the Van Helsing family. Her name was Alera Hawkins. She had long brown hair crystal brown eyes and she wore clothes of nobility. She was also accompanied by her familiars Archimedes the white Barn Owl and Artemis the black wolf pup, Alera could spend her free time with them and talking to them. She also valued their advice most times.

She was engaged to be married to a young man by the name of Victor. Victor was handsome and was desired by the young women in other slayer families but he was impressed by Alera's skill and asked his father to set the arrangements up. Secretly Alera found the idea of being transformed into an immortal fascinating. Her sister knew about her dark desires and fought against herself many times to tell their father or not, her love for her sister usually won her over but she did tell Victor. Victor didnt agree with Alera's way of thinking for he was raised to believe that immortals were vermin, an infestation that needed to be erased from the earth. Alera grew tired of slaying creatures, she was skilled yes but her love for hunting dark creatures was gone after her father killed a unicorn on purpose. The party was dull and boring. Even in a silver satiny gown, a diamond tiara her long brown hair swept up in a beautiful array, diamond earrings dangling from her ears and the Star Crystal on her neck , she was not happy knowing that her dreams and thoughts would be forbidden

She looked down at the pond and saw a black and white swan, their beaks touching so their necks look like a heart. Suddenly she saw a black shadow and drew her hidden silver bladed dagger. Out came a black werewolf, she was ready to strike but as she gazed upon its eyes it was like it was saying "don't attack I'm not here to hurt you" and she hid her dagger and looked at it, smiling a little. Then out of nowhere an arrow struck the werewolf's shoulder. it whimpered in pain and fled. It was Victor and her father "don't worry Alera, we got the beast" Victor had told her. From that moment on she turned her back on the slayers and went to find the werewolf getting help from the good witch in the village "you want to find the werewolf i see then take this, chant in a clearing and soon you will find the wolf you seek" she had told Alera. What the witch had given her was a talisman in the shape of a Celtic knot.

That night, Alera did as she was told. She waited for a long time and was ready to leave thinking she had been tricked until a figure came out of the trees. It was a boy no older then 19 years of age. He had the same golden eyes as the werewolf she had met, untidy brown hair like he just got out of bed and wore a simple white shirt black pants and boots "hello" he greeted timidly. Alera drew her dagger not knowing if he was a spy for her father, he put his hands up "easy i thought we settled this a few nights ago" she dropped her dagger knowing this is the one she was searching for. They sat on the grass not talking for a long time each wondering what to say to the other. Finally "Whats your name?" they both asked at the same time "my name is Alera Hawkins" "my name is Zephyr Deveraux" All through that night they talked and talked mostly about their lives and in that one moment they fell deeply in love.

Alera snuck out for over 6 months until the one fateful night. Alera had just left her family estate to go and see Zephyr in the clearing and her father caught her doing so. "Victor" Alera's father had said after riding to the Van Helsing Estate "Alera has left our home and gone somewhere i need you to go and follow her, this isn't like her" Victor nodded and got on his black horse and rode into the forest. It took while but he finally spotted Alera and glared at her for she was with another man a werewolf as Victor knew right aways, he hid behind an oak tree and watched them with hate. "i missed you my love" Zephyr started "i missed you too" They kissed briefly their lips touching like a featherlight whisper, "Zephyr i need to tell you something, something i wanted to tell you for a long time" "what is it my darling?" Zephyr asked confused " i love you" Alera said " i love you as well" Zephyr softly spoke and their lips met in a passionate kiss. Victor saw and heard this and felt his heart drop. Out of sheer anger and jealousy, Victor raised his bow and arrow and fired aiming at Zephyr's heart.

Zephyr heard the arrow coming and got out of the way enough so the arrow hit his shoulder. "im sorry my love" he whispered to Alera who was frozen in fear. He turned into his werewolf form and ran into the forest to get away leaving her in the clearing with Victor who had ran towards them. "your a traitor Alera, you've betrayed your father and your family and me. Our marriage is over after this now your coming with me the council of elders will decide your fate" Victor hissed out, he grabbed Alera by the arm and dragged her back to her father.

At the council they talked it out while Alera awaited their judgement. The Head Council stood up after a decision was made " Alera Hawkins, we have decided its too dangerous now. You will be burned at the stake for your crime. You have become dangerous and unpredictable. We cannot take the chance that the creature has impregnated you with his devil spawn" Alera looked down at the floor with tears in her eyes.

A few days later her execution was carried out and she was burned at the stake. Witnesses to this event have claimed to hear a heartbroken howl of a wolf and a black shadow with golden eyes watch the burning of Alera from the cliff.
