THE RARE SMELL OF THE Los Angeles rain that was trickling onto the concrete and the smell of petrichor lingering in the air, made Lanie take in a deep breath of the wonderful earthy smell. The cold splatters of nature that fell through the sky were questionable considering Lanie's ecstatic mood which was the complete opposite to what she was feeling.

Robby was being released from juvie today and Lanie was nothing but a ball filled with sunshine and plastered a blissful smile on her face that was certainly contagious to the people who walked around her.

Lanie locked her car door and wrapped her lanyard around her neck, Lanie fidgeting with the plush keychains below her hand. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion when she saw two tall familiar figures who were then identified as Daniel and Johnny. Walking closer to the men, they both turned their heads and Lanie released an awkward smile, her cheeks heating up.

"Hi Lanie, it's good to see you." Johnny smiled warmly like a sunkissed tan from the beach. Lanie reciprocated the smile brightly and coincidently, a ray of sunlight beamed brightly as it crept through a crack in the cloud near Lanie,  her figure being a literal ray of sunshine.

"Not as good as it is to see you, Johnny." Lanie walked forward and engulfed Johnny in a hug, him hugging her back while Daniel looked between them, confusion evident in his eyes.

"Since when did you two get so close?" Daniel asked, his eyes moving back and forth between the pair.

"Since the day you never visited her at the hospital." Johnny's voice was laced with sass and Lanie couldn't contain her laugh, earning a small glare from Daniel.

"Hey, I would've visited her, but you had no idea what I had to go through with my own family," Daniel spat back. Lanie shook her head incredulously, already sensing that Johnny and  Daniel were about to bicker back and forth once again.

"Daniel, you have your own family to worry about, I respect that." Lanie smiled sadly, thinking about the thoughts of how she missed her parents dearly, despite the jarring image of her past life being embedded in her head, but her mind kept wandering back to forgiveness.

Daniel and Johnny have been arguing while Lanie stood by, sighing in frustration when she simply just wanted to see Robby. But just as Lanie was about to speak up, the door swung open to reveal Robby, wearing the same shirt and pants as he did the day he was arrested.

The only difference was his shorter hair and Lanie blushed at the new sight of her boyfriend. Sure, she has seen his short hair before, but she hasn't seen him in his regular clothes in months.

"Seriously? I told you, I don't want you here," Robby said directed towards Johnny and Daniel. His demeanor instantly changed at the sight of Lanie, but once he took his gaze off of her and back on the men, the piercing glare became apparent in his eyes.

"You're my son, I wanted to be here."

"And so did I," Daniel added after Johnny.

"Don't do me any favors, you're the reason why I was in there in the first place," Robby spat at Daniel. The boys continued to proceed with their argument and Lanie was starting to feel anxious from all the loud voices that were coming all at once.

Robby knew Lanie's signs of anxiousness and Robby concluded the argument by telling Johnny and Daniel to stay out of his life before grabbing Lanie's hand gently, pulling her away from the tainted environment.

He had his arm wrapped protectively around Lanie's waist as they walked back to her car and took her into the backseat. Lanie walked in first, followed by Robby after.

Once the car door was closed, Robby looked around his surroundings, making sure nobody was near and once he made sure the coast was clear, he instantly engulfed Lanie in a hungry, yet meaningful kiss.

Lanie was taken back by surprise, never seeing Robby this lustful for her touch before, but she couldn't complain, considering how much her boyfriend had to endure not being with her every day for months.

Their lips were moving perfectly in sync and Robby's hands trailed low on her back, chills being sent down Lanie's spine. Robby's body was now on top of Lanie's as he pushed her body down onto the backseat, a small squeal escaping her lips.

"You're all mine," Robby whispered barely above his breath, his voice raspy and filled with possessiveness and Lanie swore her heart skipped a beat. Robby took off his jacket, throwing it onto the floor of the backseat while managing to not break the kiss.

Robby's hair was getting messier by the second, his hair slowly forming a bowl cut as Lanie's hands weaved through it, making Robby even more lustful for her touch.

"All yours, lover." Robby let out a disgruntled groan when Lanie pulled away from the kiss for a second and he was not having it. He gripped Lanie's chin possessively and forcefully smashed his lips onto hers, Robby's fingernails digging gently into her back.

Contradicting himself,  Robby pulled away from his lips from her and simply admired the beauty of his girlfriend.

"Hi," Robby whispered softly, making Lanie laugh at her adorable boyfriend. Lanie lifted her head up slightly, pecking her lips against Robby's.

"Hey, lover. Are you going to just stare at me or what?" When Lanie said those words, she instantly regretted it, seeing the mischievous smirk that was filled with puckish intent.

Robby's entire body weight was then plowed onto Lanie, hugging her tightly as he was on top of her and she let out a gasp of surprise, definitely not expecting that.

"My god, Robby you're heavy. Get off of me. Can't. Breathe." Lanie huffed out in annoyance when Robby lifted his body off of hers and saw the evil glare in her eyes.

"I finally get to have you all to myself now. What did you do while I was gone?"

"Oh you know the usual, I visited you, of course, um...school is interesting. Oh! I also made out with Harry Styles by the way." Lanie stared at Robby, seeing him shake his head absentmindedly, definitely not hearing the last part of her sentence, but then his eyes widened and his mouth gaped open.

"Wait, what!? I mean, I know you're joking, but if you actually did make out with Harry Styles, I wouldn't even be mad, to be honest."

Lanie's boisterous laugh filled the diminutive car space and Robby leaned his forehead on hers, the strands of dirty blonde hair tickling her olive skin.

"You're such a dork, but my adorable dork," Lanie said as  Robby pecked multiple kisses all over her face, Lanie scrunching her nose as she felt Robby's familiar cherry chapstick starting to feel sticky on her face.

"Oh, what would you do without me?" Robby asked in a dramatically sarcastic voice. But Lanie suddenly became visibly uncomfortable, remembering the vivid words Hawk said to her back at the laser tag place, and sat up in her seat, her mouth feeling dry. She brushed strands of hair behind her ear and cleared her throat awkwardly before getting out of the car and walking to the car seat, stepping in a puddle of oiled water.

Robby was sitting in the backseat dumbstruck. He did not know what was going on in Lanie's mind and he was instantly alerted, feeling worried about his girlfriend. Robby got out of the car seat and moved to the passenger seat while staring at Lanie who had her hands gripped tightly on her pink custom steering wheel.

Her nails were deeply digging into the leather of the steering wheel and Robby noticed this. He put his hand on top of Lanie's and she was taken out of her trance as she whipped her head towards Robby.

"Sweetheart, are you okay? D-Did I say something wrong?" Robby's eyes scanned his girlfriend, attempting to search for answers—but he couldn't find anything.

"No, no you didn't." Lanie's said in a monotone, staring at nothing but the dark clouds that were in front of her.

"Lanie, tell me, what did I do wrong—"

"I said nothing!" Lanie yelled, her voice bouncing off the walls in her car. Robby stared into  Lanie's eyes incredulously. He saw the screaming mess that was dancing around in her eyes and as hard as Lanie tried to hide it, there was no way she could conceal it from Robby. He can figure her out like a 50,000 pieced puzzle in seconds.

But Robby knew it was wise to not pry, knowing that Lanie hated it when people eagerly tried to get information out of her. So he brushed it off for now.

"Okay, okay, if you don't want to talk now, that's fine. I'll be here for you when you're ready, sweetheart," Robby said in a gentle and soothing tone.

Lanie let out a sigh of frustration, instantly feeling guilty for snapping at Robby like that, but Hawk's words wouldn't leave her head and she didn't want to tell Robby just yet.

"I know. I know you'll be here for me, love," Lanie whispered, her head on top of her knuckles as she leaned on the steering wheel. Taking in a deep breath of wet Los Angeles air, Lanie lifted her head up and turned her head to face Robby, seeing how his hair was perfectly messy over his forehead, forming an alluring, yet adorable bowl cut.

She stared into Robby's eyes, holding in her breath as Robby stared at her with question, knowing that Lanie wanted to say something.

"What is it, Lanie?" There was no going back now. She wasn't sure how Robby was going to react and she wanted to drive the heated conversation in another direction. She licked her lips and pressed them into a thin line before speaking.

"I want to join Cobra Kai."
