"I'M HERE EARLY, MR. LARUSSO. I couldn't really sleep so I decided to come to the dojo early—" When Lanie looked up from her bag, she saw Daniel, with a rather pissed-off look on his face. Lanie's eyes gazed towards the man Daniel was talking to and she couldn't help but tilt her head in confusion, seeming to recognize the man from somewhere.

"Who's this Danny-boy? Didn't know you were getting new soldiers for your fight," Kreese said while inhaling his cigar, the orange-red embers slowly brightening with the air smelling like fresh tobacco.

"Don't talk to him, Lanie. This man is bad news." Daniel tried to reason with the teenager, but her natural instinct was that if someone told her not to do something, she'd do the opposite.

So despite Daniel attempting to drive away Lanie from the man, she simply walked closer to him, analyzing his features, certainly recognizing him from somewhere.

"Do I know you from somewhere? You look like someone I used to know." It was now Kreese's turn to figure out that he has seen this girl before. Her features seemed familiar to him, and he was quick to question Lanie, his curiosity peaking.

"I mean, it's hard to forget this pretty face," Lanie said, shrugging her shoulders nonchalantly. "But to answer your question, no I don't think I know you, but for some reason, you do seem familiar."

Daniel stared at the two, wondering how Lanie was associated with Kreese and he was getting worried, not wanting Lanie to even think about joining Cobra Kai. "All right, you better leave before I call the cops," Daniel said, raising his voice at the older man.

Kreese nodded his head and lit out his cigarette on the bonsai tree, making Daniel cringe. He was about to leave until he turned around and stared at Lanie before speaking up.

"You definitely sound like someone I used to know. You have a good fighter Danny maybe she will see that Cobra Kai is what's best for her in the future," Kreese said, walking away to the gate, leaving the dojo while Lanie and Daniel stood stiffly in their place.

Once Kreese left, Daniel turned to Lanie and questioned her. "How do you know Kreese, Lanie?"

Kreese. That name seemed familiar to Lanie, but she couldn't pinpoint where she heard it from. It was as if she was picking out a memory from her brain, but it was equivalent to finding a needle in a haystack.

"I-I don't know, Mr. LaRusso. For some reason, it feels like I know him."

"Well, you stay away from that man. Kreese is bad news." Daniel walked away further into the dojo, making Lanie stand there awkwardly by herself. She decided to do some stretches and as she sat down on the newly sanded deck, it finally occurred to Lanie where she recognized that older man from.

And her eyes widened in both realization and in fear.

Since Lanie was at the dojo really early in the morning, she decided to go to the grocery store for a few necessities which consisted of fruit snacks and Takis.

She was weaving through the isles of the grocery store and was intent on finding where they kept the foods she needed for her comfort. Walking into the chip aisle, Lanie was looking down, so she didn't even realize she was about to run into another boy who seemed distracted as well.

Both teenagers ran into each other, head first, and stumbled in their place, almost knocking their food on the floor.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry, I should've been watching where I was going," Lanie said, instantly apologizing sheepishly to the boy.

"No worries, it's okay." The boy couldn't help but notice the sportswear she was wearing and he recognized one of the shirts to be his ex-girlfriend's, so he was instantly intrigued by the girl in front of him.

"You do karate?" The boy asked Lanie, and she nodded her head slowly.

"Yeah, ever since I could walk. How'd you know?"

"I recognized the shirt you were wearing. It belonged to my ex-girlfriend." Lanie seemed to be slightly creeped out by the boy, her being on edge. The boy noticed her uneasiness and shook his head swiftly in embarrassment. "Sorry that was creepy, I'm Miguel."

"I'm Lanie. I'm assuming you do karate too? I haven't seen you in my dojo before."

"I'm actually in Cobra Kai. You should definitely join, you have the arm power as you showed me earlier," Miguel chuckled, referencing when Lanie ran into him.

Lanie released a forced smile. This was the second time today someone tried to lure her into joining Cobra Kai and she didn't like it. Not only did she want to be loyal to Miyagi-Do, but she also wouldn't dare to think about leaving Robby and the rest of her friends.

"Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass for now. It was nice to meet you, Miguel. Don't be a stranger if we see each other again," Lanie said, walking away from the boy while waving goodbye to him.

"Likewise, Lanie. Think about what I said." Lanie's face scrunched with a hint of anger laced in it, but she smiled forcefully and gave Miguel one last goodbye before going back to the dojo.

"I don't understand how you can wear that long sleeve, Lanie. It's like a hundred degrees out. I don't know how you do it," Demetri said, his breath being exhausted from inhaling the summer heat.

Lanie suddenly felt uncomfortable, knowing she wears the tops for a reason. To hide something. Robby instantly stepped into the conversation, knowing exactly why Lanie wears the long-sleeved tops and tried to drive away from the subject so the girl wouldn't feel uncomfortable.

"Everyone is different, man. Lay off of her." Demetri sensed the hint of anger in Robby's voice and backed off the subject quickly before he would get beat up by the stronger boy.

"Thanks for that," Lanie whispered so only Robby could hear. He smiled softly and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, giving the girl a small side hug.

"Of course, but I want you to talk to me about it later. It doesn't have to be today or next week, but whenever you're ready, okay?" Lanie loved how Robby wasn't the person to pressure her and she adored him for that. She nodded her head lightly before turning to Daniel who seemed to be loving the warm weather.

Robby asked Daniel if they can an easy day and despite the intense heat, he declined his offer, but with the bickering of the teenagers, Daniel seemed to have another idea pop into his head, a smirk forming maliciously.

"Mr. LaRusso, not to be rude, but when we said we wanted to practice in a colder environment, we didn't mean for you to turn us into popsicles," Lanie said while hugging her body tightly. Daniel chuckled lightly before explaining to the teens how Kangeiko works.

The exhalation of breath escaped Lanie's mouth, her skin feeling as cold as ice and Robby noticed her shivering muscles. So by instinct, he walked up from behind Lanie and hugged her tightly, so now his arms were wrapped around her body, instantly radiating his warmth off of her.

"So I guess you're my personal heater now, huh?" Lanie looked up at the boy and he looked down into her eyes, their lips inches apart. Their faces were burning and their stomachs were filled with butterflies, almost forgetting that they were about to get hypothermia.

Daniel had to check his phone so when he left, Robby used this free time to talk to Lanie.

"I walked into your room this morning and you weren't there," Robby said as a statement, but subtly asked it as a question, wondering where Lanie went in the morning.

"Yeah, I got to the dojo early then went to the grocery store. Oh, I also ran into this other kid, his name is—um what was it...Miguel. Do you know him?" Suddenly, Lanie felt how stiff Robby's muscles became, and the way he clenched his jaw didn't go unnoticed by her.

"Uh, yeah, I know him. You talked to him?" Robby asked with his voice trembling slightly.

"Yeah, he said I should join Cobra Kai, but how could I leave when I have you here at Miyagi-Do?" Lanie turned her body so now her arms were wrapped around Robby's waist, her chin resting lightly on his structured chest. She still noticed how he became uneasy by the mention of Miguel and she wasn't sure why.

Robby seemed to feel uncomfortable and he pushed away Lanie softly from his waist, her now knowing that something serious was about to be said. Lanie's facial expression faltered, feeling rejected when Robby pulled her away from his waist.

"Sweetheart, please promise me that you won't listen to those Cobra Kai's? They're bad news and I don't know what I would do if you ever left Miyagi-Do." What Robby said was true, however, he also didn't want to admit it, but he felt jealous of Miguel, a feeling of insecurity running in his body, scared that the one good thing he has, will leave him for another boy.

"Don't worry, I promise I won't. Besides Mr. Robert Swayze Keene, how could I even possibly think about leaving a man with the middle name of 'Swayze?'" Robby rolled his eyes playfully before embracing Lanie in a hug, but this one was different from the other ones.

This one felt more affectionate, the wave of relaxation engulfing both teens, and the feeling of trust was in both of their hearts, knowing that deep inside, they were meant to be together.

Back at the LaRusso household, it was nearly falling into nighttime, the lights starting to become more visible every second. Lanie walked to the dojo where Robby was sleeping and opened the door carefully, not wanting to startle the boy.

She saw Robby folding his clothes neatly and she smiled at how peaceful his shoulder looked when they weren't tense from karate.

"I like what you did with the place. It's very home dojo-chic." Robby turned around with a smile and put his hands nervously in his pockets.

"Thanks. So what did you like better today; the heat or the cold?" Robby asked as both teenagers walked closer to one another.

"Hmm, I'd have to say the cold, because you were there to hug me," Lanie said, her smile forming wider if that was even possible. "How about you?"

Robby didn't respond, he simply walked closer to the girl, the air filled with tension as his eyes trailed up and down from Lanie's eyes to her lips. "I liked the heat."

With the many times, Lanie has been in close contact with Robby's face, this time seemed different. Her heart was palpitating faster by the second, and chills were sent down her spine when Robby caressed Lanie's right cheek with his warm hand. He stared into her eyes intently, asking for permission and Lanie slowly nodded, words unable to escape her lips.

Lanie's and Robby's faces were leaning into one another, their lips meeting delicately. The kiss was slow and filled with pure passion as the taste of Lanie's strawberry-kiwi chapstick rubbed off on Robby's lips.

When they pulled away, the teenagers stared into each other's eyes, not saying anything as the kiss was already enough to show what they wanted to say.

"Lanie, I know I said I would wait for you, but I need you now. There are so many ways I want to show my love to you and I want to do it starting now, so Delaney Corina Capuletgue, would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?"

Lanie was in awe of the boy and she wanted to immediately say yes, but then, she thought about how it wouldn't be fun without messing with Robby for a little bit.

"I mean...I totally would, but you would have to ask my other boyfriends." At first, Robby's face was filled with confusion, but then he detected Lanie's sarcastic tone, making him laugh.

"Oh really, so who are these boyfriends that I will have to fight for you?" Robby asked, in the same playful tone as Lanie's.

"Hmm, let's see, there's Harry Styles, Michael B. Jordan, Tom Holland, Tom Hiddleston, Andrew Garfield, and many more," Lanie said in a faux serious tone, making both of the teenagers laugh at her humor.

"Seems like a tough fight, but I'm sure I can win." Robby seemed confident and he pulled Lanie's body closer to his.

"But in all seriousness, yes Robert Swayze Keene, I would love to be your girlfriend." Robby looked like a child opening his gifts on Christmas day and his happiness wasn't even dared to be hidden.

Robby swooped up Lanie in his arms, carrying her bridal style, a soft squeal leaving her lips. Robby gently put her on the bed and gave her one last passionate kiss before starting into her eyes.

"Then I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world. I have no idea how I deserve a beauty like you, sweetheart."

Lanie was upstairs in her room as Robby was near the kitchen, reminiscing on the memory from the night. He beamed brightly at the memory and shoved his hands in his pockets, but the sudden sound of a knock at that door made Robby perk up his ears.

"Sam there's someone at the door," Robby said, listening carefully if she was coming down to answer the person that was at her door. When he didn't hear anything, he shrugged his shoulders before opening the door to see Miguel with a confused look on his face.

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm not here to fight. I just came here to return this." Miguel pulled Mr. Miyagi's medal of honor out of his pocket, making Robby scoff.

"I knew you took it—"

"No, look, I had nothing to do with that or with what happened to your dojo." Robby stared at Miguel for a few seconds before snatching the medal out of his hands rudely. He was about to shut the door on Miguel's face until something popped into his head.

"Oh and by the way, stay away from my girlfriend. She told me that she ran into you at the grocery store and I don't appreciate you trying to make her leave my dojo."

Miguel seemed to be confused at first, not knowing who he was talking about but suddenly it came back to him. In his thoughts, Miguel wasn't sure how a sweet girl like Lanie would be with Robby.

If it was a good day, Miguel would have ignored his statement and simply left, but no, he wasn't having it which was why he decided to rile Robby up.

"What if I don't want to say away from her? Maybe she deserves better than an asshole like you," Miguel spat and turned the other way to leave the LaRusso house. But before he could get far, Miguel turned around once again to see a very enraged Robby.

"She's going to turn on you sooner or later. She has the potential for Cobra Kai, not Miyagi-Do." With that, Miguel left, Robby closing the door furiously and his nose was flaring with anger. Footsteps were descending down the stairs and Robby put the medal of honor in his pocket before anyone could see.

"Who was at the door?" Lanie asked, putting her hair in a bun for bedtime.

"No one, just had the wrong house," Robby said nervously. Lanie furrowed her eyebrows for a second before looking behind her to make sure there was no one else downstairs. When she made sure they were alone, Lanie smiled and pressed a firm kiss on Robby's lips, him instantly kissing her back.

They had only kissed once for the night and he was already deprived of the feeling of her lips. He deepened the kiss by pulling her waist closer to his, locking his arms around her body.

"Goodnight, Willy Wonka." Robby chuckled at Lanie's nickname for him and before she could walk up the stairs to her room, he trailed more kisses on her forehead and cheeks before pecking her lips one last time for the night.

"Goodnight, sweetheart." He watched Lanie walk up the stairs and when she was out of his view, Robby's smile faltered as he thought back to the memory of Miguel. He was angry that the boy didn't get the message and his mind was overthinking drastically, but he knew Lanie would be on his side at all times.

Oh, the way Robby was about to have some competition.
