Y/n POV

I walk through the gate to the dog park and once through, I lock it again. There doesn't seem to be that many people here. It's only June but it's hotter than hell. I have my jean shorts and a knit crop top on.

"Be patient Zeus." I unclip the leash and roll it up to put it in my pocket. I grab the toy and he's jumping all over me. "Okay settle down." I laugh and I throw the toy far. He runs and tries to catch the toy midair but fails and picks it up off the ground. He barrels back toward me and almost takes me out. I play a little bit of tug-o-war with him, before I let go and run my hands through his soft, multicoloured fur. I go to throw the toy when all of a sudden Zeus takes off running

"Zeus!" I take off after him, trying to catch up to him. 'I'm glad I was in track for four years.' I think to myself. I turn the little corner to go the way he did and see Zeus sniffing another dog, a golden retriever and a boy standing beside them. 'He sort of looks familiar' I say studying the boy. He had blonde hair and blue eyes, had muscles showing through his white muscle shirt but he wasn't jacked, just that nice ratio of muscle to body. I walk closer.

"Zeus, come here boy." I say and Zeus comes back to me and acts like he hadn't seen me for a week. "Sorry about this." I say and give a smile.

"No worries." The boy replies and we turn to look at the dogs who had ran off and were playing with eachother. "I guess they like eachother eh?"

"Yeah they sure look like they are having fun." I smile and look at the dogs. I look back to the boy. "I'm y/n, y/l/n." I stick my hand out, which he grabs.

"I'm Adam, Banks." We shake hands and let go, "I feel like I recognize you from somewhere." He says after.

"Me too. Well, I just transferred to Eden Hall back in March before the year ended?" I reply in sort of an asking tone and he snaps his fingers.

"Right, that's where I know you from. I've seen you in the halls and I think we had History together." He states and I nod my head.

"Yeah, Mr. O'Connor." I say and he smiles. "He was a good teacher, very patient with me. A lot better than my teacher at my old school." He gestures to the bench in the shade where we can still see the dogs.

"Why'd you transfer? If you don't mind me asking." He asks, as he looks at me then back to the dogs.

"My parents got new jobs here so they moved us." I reply.

We sit there for a good twenty minutes just talking and getting to know eachother a bit. The dogs come back and lay in the shade in front of the bench both panting.

"You should give me your number, then we can arrange for Nala and?" He hangs off the sentence.

"Zeus." I reply.

"Nala and Zeus to come play every so often."

"Yeah for sure, they can have little doggy dates." I joke and laugh.

"Yeah, doggy dates." He smiles and grabs his phone for me. I grab mine and hand it to him, and grab his to put my number in. I name my contact just my name and hand his phone back. He gives me mine back and I put it in my back pocket.

"Well Zeus, we should get back home." I say and I grab the leash and clip it on.

"Well, me and Nala will see you guys next time." He smiles and waves goodbye and I do the same. Once I'm far enough away, I smile even more.

"Zeus, you might have just played matchmaker." I say and ruffle his fur. "You are going to have soooo many doggy dates."
