~The Next Day || 13:22~

"So um, where the hell are they going?"

"Venice."

"They have passports?"

"Jungkook is Jungkook I'm sure he found a way," Yoongi says. Jin blinks, choosing not to ask. Yoongi simply shrugs and walks towards the back door, making Jin gulp but follow.

"You know we're hosting a party next week?" Jin asks, making Yoongi grumble to himself.

"Great, I have to put up with a bunch of drunk people," Yoongi says with a groan.

"You do that on a daily basis anyway."

The mansion is surprisingly empty. Hoseok, Seulgi, Sapphire, Anya, Jimin, Y/N, Jungkook, and Taehyung are all gone. There are eleven crew members, and eight of which are gone. Hoseok and Seulgi should be back soon, but they left Yoongi and Jin alone together. That's not good. Jin is very annoying, and Yoongi does not like that. He does not like that at all. Often times Jin sees Yoongi in the bar, trying to hide from him.

"Where's Baekhyun? Isn't he leaving soon?"

"He's leaving tomorrow morning, but he said he wanted to talk to Hoseok first," Yoongi explains. "He should be in the basement." Jin hums in understanding. There's a lot going on around this mansion despite it being so empty. Jin and Yoongi are planning a party (horrible decision to put them together, but there's no choice), Taekook just got married, and Baekhyun is about to leave again.

"Where do you think he's going?" Jin asks.

"Oh I don't know Einstein, maybe back to the city, where all his problems are."

"Shut up Yoongi."

"You asked, not me," Yoongi replies with a shrug.

Jin pouts, deciding against saying anything. He strolls forward with his hands in his pockets. "Is there a party theme?"

"You really don't shut up. And I thought Jimin was bad," Yoongi says in a huff.

"I'm just trying to be helpful!"

"Well stop, you're not very good at it." Although Jin's secretly offended, he doesn't let it show.

"Do you seriously not like me?" Jin asks, stopping his movement. Yoongi stops as well, glancing back at Jin. Yoongi scans the man up and down for a few moments.

"You're alright I guess."

Jin beams. "I'll take it!" Yoongi looks like he wants to make a snarky comment, but he resists the urge. So Jin just kind of stares at him. He stares at him for a few moments before choosing to move away again. However, Yoongi's hand shoots out and grabs Jin's wrist. Jin recoils and drops his jaw. "Did Yoongi just touch me?"

"Shut up don't make this harder than it already is," Yoongi says. Jin closes his mouth as Yoongi's hand slips away from him. "I do like you." Yoongi gags, choking over his words. "That hurt to say." Jin wants to tease him for it, but instead decides not to. He isn't sure how to reply though, so once again, he just stares. Yoongi sighs. "I actually really like you. Not as much as Hoseok, but enough to say I like you."

"Holy shit," Jin says. At Yoongi's death glare, Jin slaps a hand over his mouth. "Sorry, instinct. You aren't known for saying the like word."

"Only Sapphire and Hoseok hear it often."

"Maybe one day I can be part of that list."

"If you become less of a narcissist and stop being so obnoxious, maybe."

"Wow. Those are two very unrealistic expectations. That's like asking Jimin to not be horny." Yoongi blinks. "What? It's true!" Jin says, busting out his windshield wiper laugh.

"I regret speaking," Yoongi grumbles.

"And being awake."

"And being awake."

"Come on, let's go check on Baekhyun and make sure he's still breathing," Jin says, moving forward.

"I wish I wasn't breathing."

"Yoongi, stop being angsty for one minute please."

"I want to throw myself away."

"Shut up!"

"Excuse me?" Yoongi asks, his eyes expanding.

Jin gulps. "Nothing, let's just see Baekhyun please."

"That's what I thought." God damn, Min Yoongi can be terrifying. Very, very terrifying.

Jin leads the way down the hall, then realizes something. Jin and Yoongi are alone and living under the same roof. Baekhyun isn't a snitch. Truthfully, he probably would agree with Yoons. If Yoongi wanted to kill Jin, he totally could. No witnesses and maybe even help from Baekhyun.

"You're not going to kill me, right?" Jin asks, trying not to let his nervousness show.

"I don't know, I haven't thought that far ahead. Cleaning up blood is a lot of work that I don't want to do right now."

"Ah, okay good." Jin pauses for a moment and processes Yoongi's words. "Wait what?!"

Yoongi gives Jin a wink (which catches him totally off guard) and opens the door to the basement. Jin blinks in amazement but has no time to think. As soon as the door opens, Baekhyun appears. He's standing right at the top of the stairs.

"Good morning," he says, confusion in his eyes.

"It's afternoon," Yoongi blankly replies.

"Close enough. What brings you here?"

"We came to check on you," Jin replies.

"Literally why?" Baekhyun asks.

Jin pouts. "Are we not allowed to be concerned for our dear crewmate?"

"You're not. I find it hard to believe you took a break from staring at yourself to check on me. Did Yoongi threaten to kill you again?"

Shit. Jin got caught. "Maybe."

"You probably deserved it."

"Hey!"

Before anyone else can talk, laughter sounds off from the front of the house. "Please don't be Jimin and Y/N I don't want to see them being horny," Jin says in a groan.

"As much as I hate to say it, I... I-I... Fuck, this is hard," Yoongi says, shaking his head.

Baekhyun pats his back. "It's okay, I'll help you."

"I... I..."

"Agree," Baekhyun says.

"Agree," Yoongi repeats.

Yoongi coughs as soon as the word comes out of his mouth. "Min Yoongi just agreed with me. Life's good," Jin says.

"Anyway," Yoongi says, walking right past Jin to go see who the intruders are. "Oh thank God, it's just Seulgi and Hoseok." Yoongi does a small cheer, dashing off to go greet them. Baekhyun goes quiet for a moment but quickly follows. Jin wants to ask him what's wrong, but the Pilot doesn't give him the chance.

The two enter the lobby and see Seulgi talking to Yoongi, Hoseok awkwardly standing by her side. To Jin's surprise, Baekhyun goes right over to Hoseok. The man peeks up, amazed that Baekhyun went right for him. "Can we talk?" Baekhyun asks. Hoseok seems more confused than ever but agrees. The man drags Baekhyun upstairs, going right for his bedroom and leaving the other three standing there in shock.

"What the hell was that about?" Seulgi asks, glancing at Yoongi and Jin in disbelief.

"I have no idea," Jin replies. Even though Baekhyun has mostly filled the crew in on the details of his journey, Jin still isn't sure why he's so eager to talk to Hoseok. Especially alone. That's just weird.

"Hey guys?" Seulgi asks, causing them to look at her. "Do you think Baekhyun's okay?" Yoongi and Jin share an uneasy look, then sigh. However, it's Yoongi who speaks.

"Honestly? I don't know."

~13:31~

"You wanted to talk?" Hoseok asks, closing his bedroom door. Baekhyun hums and goes to the center of the room. Hoseok notices his hesitation and furrows his brows. "How's the city?"

"Pretty. I know you don't like technology, but I do. You'd probably think it's gross."

Hoseok chuckles. "I guess that's true. Ironic that I don't like technology but I was an agent for the longest time."

"And now you're our medic."

"Don't remind me. Maybe it was a mistake, Seulgi bought me fifteen textbooks and threatened to lock me out of the bedroom if I didn't try and read at least once a day."

"Your woman is scary," Baekhyun says, shivering to add dramatic effect.

Hoseok smiles, but it doesn't quite form a heart-shape. "She cares for me. I'd rather that than someone being negligent. I'm really grateful to have her. Plus, I've learned a lot so far. I'm even thinking of taking online classes."

"You'll be the best medic in the system," Baekhyun replies, returning Hoseok's smile. They fall into a short silence. Hoseok isn't really sure what to say, so he leans back against the door and stares at the man. "I solved a lot of my problems. I tracked down some of my old friends and they were shocked to see me to say the least, but they understood everything. Actually, they were glad I left. Not in a 'I wanted you gone' way. In a 'you found your destiny' way. I think they're happy that I'm a part of the most famous crew in the galaxy."

Hoseok nods in understanding. "We're proud of you too. If you didn't leave, you wouldn't have been part of it."

"Exactly. I hate who I was beforehand, but at least I learned. That's what matters, right?"

"Right."

Baekhyun sighs. "I'll cut to the chase. I found my parents."

"You did? Wasn't that expected?"

Baekhyun is about to nod, then hesitates. "It took me a while to work up the courage to find them. I went to my old home, but they're not there."

"Then where are they?" Hoseok asks.

"That's the part I wanted to talk to you about."

For what feels like the millionth time today, Hoseok is confused. "How am I involved?"

Baekhyun bites his lower lip and looks down for a moment. "They're in California." Hoseok's eyes jump. Oh. They're in Cali. Where Hoseok's family is. "And I know it's a far trip. I probably won't be back for even longer, but I have to go see them. I have to get my closure before it's too late. What if they move again? What if they completely forget about me? What if I forget about them or hesitate? I can't have that happen. I need to go, and I'm leaving for Cali tomorrow." Hoseok slowly nods, choosing not to speak. "I wanted to ask if you want to come with me."

He gazes at Baekhyun, considering his options. If Hoseok goes, how long will he be gone? Sure, he misses his family, but he'll miss his crew even more. Seulgi and him just moved in together. Does he really want to leave all the house work and moving in chores to her? He'd feel bad. At the same time, he hasn't seen his parents in years. Either way he'll gain or lose something. A tough decision.

"I... wow that's a lot to take in," Hoseok manages to reply.

"I know, and I don't need to know right now. Preferably by the end of tonight, but still. At least take some time to think about it. Maybe talk to Seulgi-"

"I'd rather make my decision now, to be honest. You deserve to know sooner rather than later, just give me a few seconds to think about it." Baekhyun hums, falling quiet. Hoseok glances down at the ground and thinks over his options again. There's really only one proper play here. He knows that. So, he lets out a small sigh.

"I don't think I can go with you. I'd like to, but it's a bad time. Seulgi and I just moved in together and we're not fully unpacked yet. I'd feel horrible leaving her to stay in an apartment we just bought all by herself. I can't do that to her, even if she said it was fine," Hoseok says.

Baekhyun nods. "I understand."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize, Hobi. You mean a lot to me, and if you want to stay and be with your girl, I won't complain."

"I hear you got a girl, right?"

"Who told you that?" Baekhyun asks, his eyes bulging.

"Jungkook. What a surprise, right? Classic Cupid. Something about meeting a girl at the bachelor party."

Baekhyun groans and buries his face in his hands. "Just because I got laid that night doesn't mean I have a girl."

"Well, tell me the details. What's her name?"

Baekhyun gets flustered for a moment. "Aurora."

"Aurora? Beautiful name. Sounds like more than a one night stand to me," Hoseok says, waggling his brows. That causes Baekhyun to cross his arms over his chest and huff.

"I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't even have her number."

"I'll go get it then. I'll track her down. Don't doubt my skills."

"I never would." They fall in to a short silence, appreciating being in each other's presence. "Do you think my parents will accept me?" Baekhyun suddenly asks.

"I don't see why they wouldn't."

"Yeah, but... I left after blowing them off multiple times. Now I come back as some space war hero. I get to Earth and I still don't go see them first thing. Doesn't that make me a bit of an asshole?"

"Baekhyun." He nods. "They love you. People make mistakes. Big ones even. They'll forgive you. That's a promise." Baekhyun lets out a shaky breath, stepping forward. Hoseok meets him halfway, hugging the poor man.

"Thank you, Hobi. Thank you..." Hoseok hums, closing his eyes and keeping the man close.

"You're welcome."
