Confrontation

A/N: A much needed Y/N and Seulgi focus chapter along with discussing the character's relationships since y'know, they are the driving force for the story. Sisters for life, they haven't talked one-on-one in a while. I'm trying my hardest to make these chapters not all 10k words long while still fitting in good character interactions but it's so difficult since there's nine crew members, you know? I guess I'm mostly saying that to tell you that there will be a lot of character moments (some unexpected) that come later, which is why these past few chapters have taken place over one-two days. Okay enough rambling, enjoy!

~15:15~

Seulgi taps her foot against the ground, then, the door opens, and a shocked Y/N stands there. "Hey Seul, everything okay?"

She's about to reply when her eyes instantly fall to Y/N's neck. "Um..." she says while trailing off, which causes the girl to look at Seulgi in confusion.

"What? Is there something on my-" She cuts herself off and turns red, covering her neck with one of her hands. "I-Ignore those..."

"You know despite all the talk, I figured Jimin would be a beta."

"Seul!"

"What? It's true. Yesterday after we were done with our make out session Hoseok and I went to his room, he said he would be all dominant and stuff but then I-"

"Seulgi?"

"Yes?"

"Stop talking."

She chuckles as she steps inside, still keeping a raised brow on poor Y/N. "There's been a dangerously low amount of talking about our love lives though, where's all the drama? The juice? The gossip?" Seulgi dramatically asks as Y/N closes the door. She leads the Intelligence Officer over to her couch, and they plop down together.

"I guess we've been so busy we haven't had time to talk about the more, I don't know..."

"Mundane things?" Seulgi answers.

She hums. "You know you have to tell me about Hoseok, right?"

"Well, everything is going well right now, but we just got together. Getting back with your ex is normally the biggest red flag in history."

"But this is Hobi we're talking about. The sunshine himself. The problem solver, the ray of light."

Seulgi nods. "Yeah, he really is a ball of sunshine, isn't he?"

Y/N, being the Cupid she is, giggles and waggles her brows. "So, have you guys said I love you yet? I mean I know it's early but since you guys did date, how does that work?"

"Did you and Jimin say I love you yet?"

"Y-You're dodging the question."

Seulgi's eyes nearly burst out of her head. "Oh my God. You did, didn't you?!"

Y/N sighs. "Guess I'm not getting an answer. Yes, yes we did."

"Okay, details, right now."

"It was after the war. We found each other at a relief station and, well, I don't think either of us thought the other was alive. I can't even describe it, it was like all my pain went away all at once. Like I could see color again. The world lit up when I saw him standing there. I didn't even think it was him at first, but I had to try. I had to."

Seulgi leans forward, picturing the events in her mind. "Who said it first?"

Y/N softly smiles, looking down and replaying the memory in her mind. "He did, and I said it back right away. If he didn't say it when he did, I probably would've screamed it. I love him Seul, I really do. More than Yeonjun and Jungkook combined. There's something about him that sets off a spark inside me every time I see him. And, yeah, maybe that'll fade away as I adjust to the relationship, but I think deep down I know it won't."

Seulgi stares at her with bewilderment in her irises. "Do you think maybe..." Y/N raises a brow, Seulgi sucking in a breath and praying she isn't overstepping. "How long have you guys been together?"

"Two weeks."

"What do you see, when you think of the future?"

"Him," she instantly replies, and Seulgi breaks out into a grin.

"I think he's your one, babes."

She flusters, looking down and fumbling over her words. "W-Well it's pretty early-"

"Y/N?" She shuts up. "It's okay to hope that he is. It's okay to dream a little. You only get the early stage of a relationship a few times, and if he's your one, this could be the last time. Enjoy it. Dream, be bold and cheesy."

She laughs. "I doubt our cheesiness will ever go away."

Seulgi smirks, and Y/N panics at that. "So, is he the alpha in this relationship, orrrr?"

Despite her panic, Y/N chuckles. "I'm so glad I have someone to talk about this stuff with. As much as Jungkook is my bestie, it'd be awkward to talk about that kind of stuff with him."

"Because he's your ex?" Seulgi asks.

"Well, that certainly doesn't help, but mostly since he's a guy. Us girls, I guess it feels good that we can fangirl over our insanely hot boyfriends."

Seul nods in agreement. "I want all the details. All. Of. Them."

Y/N gives her a look of amusement. "Yeah, he's the alpha. I'll take charge here and there but he is very seductive. Very, very seductive. The looks he gives me, oh my gosh."

"And how is it?"

"Oh my God, he's great. He wasn't lying."

"Lying?" Seulgi asks, raising a brow.

"U-Uh never mind, inside joke."

"I wish to be apart of this inside joke."

Although Seulgi can tell Y/N's mortified, she still gives in. "At the party, when Jimin got promoted for the first time. We were dancing and he was trying to get me to go back with him." Seulgi hums as Y/N thinks of what to say next. "He may have told me that engineers are really good with their fingers." Seulgi makes an 'ooooh' sound and holds up her hand. Y/N laughs and gives her a high-five, shaking her head.

"So wait, that party. I faintly remember you and him leaving together and you coming back like ten minutes later. The quarters are two minutes away at most," Seul says in a teasing tone.

"Oh no, we're not going into that story."

"Oh my gosh, you guys were so in love from the first moment you met. It's so obvious."

"So is your love for Hoseok," Y/N replies with a shit-eating grin on her face.

Seulgi grunts and face palms. "I should have seen that coming."

"I'm just saying, you two make a very cute couple. Is everything good with you and him so far?"

"Going smoothly." She looks over at Y/N's kitchen, then raises a brow. "You guys go grocery shopping today?" Seul asks.

"Yeah, before we went out monster hunting, why?"

"All your cabinets are open."

Y/N's eyes expand and she turns around. She takes in the sight of the messy cabinets, then sighs. "Yeah, Jimin was looking for snacks earlier. Guess he was so hungry he forgot to close them. This boy is as adorable as he is forgetful."

Y/N softly chuckles, shaking her head before turning back to Seulgi. "Living together, that's a big step," Seulgi starts, and Y/N nods in agreement.

"A huge one. I'm not gonna lie, when he asked me to stay with him originally, I was going to say no."

Seulgi raises a brow. "What changed your mind?"

She brushes the thought off, a small smile tugging at her lips. "He looked at me like I was the only thing that mattered. How could I say no to that face? Besides, if we can handle Kepler, Triton, and him blowing up my ex, I think we can handle a few weeks of living together."

Seulgi gives her a look of admiration. She didn't really think of it like that. They've been so on the run and so crazy that she didn't even realize how good the relaxing parts can be. Sure, the crew's fight was rough, but other than that this grace period has been amazing. It feels truly earned. Seulgi bites her lower lip at her thoughts of the fight. That's what she initially came to talk about, but she needed the details on Y/N's love life first. Classic Seulgi.

Y/N gives her a confused look. "Everything okay? Is something wrong with Hoseok?" Y/N asks.

"Quite the opposite. It has to do with Baekhyun."

"Is he okay?" she immediately says, concern flaring up in her eyes. Seulgi always loved that about her. She's somehow both a lover and a fighter, a trait Seulgi wishes she had.

"He is, but I actually came up here to talk to you about something that just happened. I saw Jimin on the staircase and filled him in but I didn't tell him everything. I wanted to tell you the more emotional bits."

She frowns, but dips her head to motion for her to keep going. "Tell me everything." Seul fills Y/N in on every detail she can remember. Every word and phrase used. It takes a full two minutes to explain, with Y/N's eyes progressively growing wider as Seulgi talks. At the end of her little rant, she lets out a huff, closing her mouth and watching Y/N's expression closely. She stays still, breathing slowly as she processes the whole story. "So Baekhyun doesn't want to be with the crew anymore?" Y/N whispers.

Seulgi can't help but be taken aback. "I don't think that's what he meant, I think he wants a break."

"We're getting a break right now. If he wanted a break he would've brought this up a while ago, not while we were in the middle of settling down on Ganymede for a bit."

"True, but I don't think he'd want to leave his crew. Baekhyun's a fighter, whether he'll admit it or not. He fought the battleship, and that takes courage," Seulgi says.

"A lot of courage too, but do you think he would have done it on his own?"

"What do you mean?" Seulgi asks, leaning forward.

"I mean, if he wasn't ordered to do so, do you think he would have joined in on the fight?" She bites her lower lip and looks down. She's not sure. "What about Hoseok? If he wasn't ordered to help, do you think he would?"

"Yes, I know he would."

"Taehyung?" She nods. "Jungkook?" Another nod. "See what I mean? With everyone else, it's an obvious answer with an exception of Jin even though he proved himself, but with Baekhyun? No one's sure. I sympathize with him, really I do. Hell, it's my own home that's under attack I don't want to see that, but at the same time there's not much more we can do. We're stuck in this mess, whether we like it or not."

"I agree. I wish I could understand his side a little more."

"Me too." They both fall into a short silence, breathing softly and trying not to let their thoughts get to them too much. Eventually, Y/N clears her throat. "Did you eat at all today?"

"No, have you?"

"Nope. We haven't really had much time to, that's why Jimin was looking for snacks before his daily talk with Kai."

"Oh, was that where he was heading?"

"Yeah. Daily updates. I offered to go, but he insisted that I stay and rest. Said I 'deserved it'."

Seulgi lets out an 'awe' and nods. "You do deserve it babes."

Y/N gives her a soft smile. "So do you. You know what you also deserve?"

"If you say Hoseo-"

"Jung Hoseok!" Y/N lets out with a bright smile, giggling. Seulgi sighs, but can't help herself. She returns Y/N's bright smile.

"You're absolutely ridiculous, Y/N L/N."

"Yet you're still friends with me."

"I'm not sure how that happened, but I'm not complaining. Sometimes I feel like you and Hobi are the same person. I honestly forgot who I was talking to for a second."

She laughs before hopping up, offering Seulgi her hand. "You're right, I can be like him sometimes. What can I say, he's a fun guy and I'm a fun girl." Seulgi gives her a look of amusement before slipping her hand into Y/N's. "Now come on, let's get you some ramen," Y/N says before pulling her away..

~19:43~

Jimin stands a few feet away from the well, watching as many people pass by, some stopping to pray while others give a small bow and keep walking. Most acknowledge the structure in some way. It still amazes Jimin. No one bothers him as he stands off to the side and watches. He's been away for most of the day. After he went to talk to Kai, he didn't bother going back home. He hopes he's not worrying Y/N, especially since he doesn't have his comm with him. Regardless, there's one person he's expecting to see.

He may not know Baekhyun well, but he knows him well enough. When he's upset, he looks for quiet and peaceful places, like a rather unpopulated space with a nice well near it. So, Jimin sits on the closest metal bench, watching the well for a few more moments before looking up at the sky. Jimin leans back into the metal, sighing and letting the cool material meet his body. He doesn't move or complain, he simply stares, memorizing every detail of the sights above him.

He's sure Baekhyun will be around soon enough, he can sense it. Jimin's been stressed about it all day. He never thought he'd have to solve issues with the crew themselves. He always thought it would be a war, or some physical threat, not one with his own crewmates. But he has to get involved. The Captain can't let Yoongi and Baekhyun go on like this. Based on what Seulgi said, he can tell there's massive tension between the boys.

Jimin sits there for several minutes, falling deep into his thoughts. He thinks about Ganymede, Seulgi, Jungkook... Y/N. He can't help but be worried for their relationship. Not in a bad way, really. He doesn't think anything bad is going to happen, but she was right. Living together is nothing like sleeping together. Jimin's already nervous that he's doing something to irritate her. He doesn't think he has any bad, annoying habits, but at the same time if he does he wouldn't even notice them. He wants her to be as comfortable as possible, but he isn't sure if he's giving her that.

After another minute, a weight is added to the bench. Jimin looks down. He's not surprised to see Baekhyun sitting there, eyes on the ground. Jimin sighs, then peeks back up at the sky. They don't talk for a solid three minutes. They simply stay in their own mental world. Jimin's mind is blank as he observes everything in his eyesight. He doesn't want to start the conversation. He's dreading it, to be honest. However, he doesn't have to since Baekhyun does.

"I want to clarify that I don't think you're a bad Captain, or even a mediocre one. You're doing the best you can, and I appreciate that, but I feel like I'm the only one who can see what's going on clearly."

"And what is going on, Baekhyun?" Jimin can't help but ask, keeping his head up.

"We started this, Jimin. All of it."

"It was going to happen anyway-"

"Was it?" Baekhyun asks. "We'll never know now. We made the decision to publish our side. Y/N's father came after us for that, and what did that lead to? Triton, Kepler, Jungkook being taken, now Ganymede. Our actions have consequences. Dire ones. We're lucky we're still standing."

"I agree," Jimin whispers, which shocks Baekhyun.

"Then why are you still putting us in the middle of this war?"

"I'm sorry, but did you not vote to stay when Namjoon asked about Triton?"

"Sure, but we didn't face any major consequences at that point. Now since we have, it's different. You need to keep us safe. Every time I close my eyes, all I see is him... gone."

"You think I'm not the same way?" Jimin asks lowly.

"S-Sir, I-"

"That man was like a father to me. I understand better than anyone that his death wasn't something easy to cope with, but Jungkook knew him better than anyone and wants to fight. So tell me why you really don't like this, Baekhyun." He goes quiet, and Jimin can't help but look over at him.

"I want to go home," he mumbles, his lower lip slightly quivering. Jimin stays silent, letting him talk. "I stand by what I said. We've hit so many roadblocks on this journey. I mean look at what just happened. We almost lost Jungkook, Yoongi got shot, there's creatures lurking around out there and can attack at any moment, Jackson is still missing. How am I supposed to stay calm? How are you so calm?"

"Baekhyun?" He nods. "I'm terrified."

He looks over at his Captain with wide eyes. "You are?"

Jimin gives him a small nod. "I'm making this all up as I go along. I have no real major plan here. I honestly have no clue what to do when this whole journey is over, or even what to do when Ganymede doesn't need us anymore. All I know is that we can only worry about what's happening now. I know there are consequences Baekhyun, I know that, but the best thing we can do is stick together and try to survive." Baekhyun slowly nods, absorbing his words. "If I had a second chance, and could do this journey all over again, I would do it the same exact way."

Baekhyun keeps his gaze steady on Jimin for a few more moments before sighing and looking back at the ground. "I know, I just don't think I can forgive you for that. You're supposed to lead us to safety, not more danger."

Jimin goes quiet, deciding not to reply. Baekhyun's trying to tell Jimin how to lead his own crew. His audacity confuses Jimin. Having such different beliefs is dividing them, and Jimin hates it. He wishes he can reassure Baekhyun that his fears won't come true, but he can't. They're fighting in a war. No matter where he goes, there'll be a fight. Jimin can't change that no matter what he does. There'll be consequences for all of their actions, even if their actions are good. That's how war works.

They sit there watching Jupiter in silence. Jimin isn't sure what to say, so he doesn't continue to explain himself. He's done all he can do, and if Baekhyun can't accept that, then it may be time for him to move on. Jimin should've expected this. What were the odds that every single member of the crew would be on board with his plan at all times?

The Captain lets out a small breath. "I'm going to formally ask you to patch things up with Yoongi. I don't know where this journey will take us, but I can't have my crew fighting. We've gone through too much to have these kinds of fights, and quite frankly, I won't tolerate it."

"Yes sir," Baekhyun quietly replies.

"Baekhyun?" He hums. "I understand your views and I sympathize with them, but..." he trails off for a moment, and the two of them lock eyes again. "This is my crew, not yours. So don't you ever try and tell me how to lead them again."

~21:29~

You take another swig from the bottle, the music turned at a decent volume as you dance on your couch. Your bare feet tap against the soft cushion. You laugh, Seulgi laughing with you. "Giiirl you need to share that!" Seulgi teases. You toss it to her, and she barely manages to catch it. You both laugh again, your minds slightly hazy. You and her have been together all day, talking, watching TV, eating. Now, dancing and drinking. Late night party - except it's a party of two.

She stands on the ground while you sway to the funky beat playing on Jimin's hologlobe. You really did forget to pack yours. You're going to have to go back to the Moon and get it. It's parked outside the city, in the back and all locked down, so you'll need to borrow either Jimin or Baekhyun's key to get in. Oh well, that's tomorrow's problem. Right now you need to drink more. You can't help but feel as though you deserved it.

She takes a long sip, then hands it back to you. "Chug?" you innocently ask, which makes Seulgi nod rapidly.

"I need to see a drunk Y/N!"

"If we get a noise complaint, it's not my fault," you say, then proceed to do exactly what you said. You chug the whole thing. You have no idea what type it is, you didn't pay attention. You and Jimin made sure to buy an excessive amount of alcohol, so you doubt he'll mind if you and Seulgi take one bottle.

You hop down from the couch, placing the bottle on the table and dancing with Seulgi, letting your hands meet her waist as the two of you sway back and forth. "Y-You want to know something funny?" Seulgi asks with a small slur. Looks like you're not the only tipsy one.

"Hm?"

"Hoseok told me that Baekhyun and Jin used to have a crush on you."

Your eyebrows shoot up. "Oh really?"

"Oh yeah. Looks like you're swaying everyone's hearts. There were even some times where I questioned my feelings for you."

You laugh, using your hands to guide her hips back and forth. She lets her hands go to your shoulders. The two of you smile brightly at each other. "And now?" you ask.

"You're my hot as fuck best friend." You giggle at her bluntness, then dramatically slip away from her. She gives you a fake look of hurt as you waltz away, stepping a whole two feet back before going right back to your crazy dance moves.

She joins in, throwing her arms around. You try to mimic her motions, but it becomes too difficult, so you just do your own thing. She's moving too unpredictably. Classic Seulgi and her weird dance moves. She manages to make them look good, but still. You and her continue to laugh and smile. "I need more alcohol," Seulgi says, and you nod rapidly in agreement.

"That's the smartest thing I think you've ever said." She gives you a small smirk as you start to do a dance-walk to the kitchen.

However, the door opening makes you stop in your tracks. Jimin walks into your apartment, a confused look on his face once he takes in the sight. "Baby, you're back," you say, rushing forward. He closes the door as you approach him. He blinks at you, but you don't get whatever hint he's trying to display. You kiss him, and he jumps in shock. He doesn't return it. You pout and pull back.

"Did you guys drink all our alcohol already?"

"Only one bottle."

"A big bottle, but still only one bottle nonetheless," Seulgi says with a giggle.

He locates the bottle on the table, and his eyes widen. "I think the party's over. We should get you to bed, Y/N."

"But I love dancing," you say with a small whine.

He gives you a stern look. "Y/N, seriously. We should go to bed. We have to go out again tomorrow morning and a hangover won't help."

You stick your tongue out at him. "Boo, so strict."

Seulgi, even in her tipsy state, notices the tension in the room. "I need to go find Hoseok, fill him in on what happened since I still haven't done that." She awkwardly scratches the back of her neck. "I'll see you tomorrow guys."

"Bye Seul," you say, giggling. Looks like you're a giggly drunk. Regardless, you're still in control of your actions. You're not totally drunk, but you're slightly slow, if that makes sense. You can still see straight, so that's a good sign.

As soon as Seulgi closes the door, Jimin turns to you with a sigh. "Come on, let's go."

"Why did you shut down our party?" you ask with a frown. He walks over to the kitchen and turns off his hologlobe, silence filling the room. You sense that something's wrong and walk over to him, back-hugging him. "What's wrong?" you say. He takes your hands and pries them off of him.

"The crew just had a fight and the first thing you do is get drunk," he whispers in disbelief.

You're only more confused. "Seulgi and I wanted to have some fun." Your heart stings. He's not your dad: he's your boyfriend. Why does he care if you and Seulgi have a bit to drink? Especially when he's not even around. Wait. That's a good point. "You're gone for most of the day and this is the first thing you have to say to me?"

He turns to face you, a frown on his face. "I didn't mean it like that, I just..." He breaks off with a sigh, shaking his head. "I'm sorry, but it's been a long day, and seeing my girlfriend drunk as soon as I come home isn't exactly a warm welcome."

"I'm not even that drunk, come on," you say. You really want to know where he's been. The more you think about it, the more it pisses you off that he didn't even bother telling you where he went and why he was gone for so long. Especially after the whole war.

He looks over at the bottle. "Out of all the bottles we have..."

"What?"

"It's nothing."

"What?" you ask.

"It was supposed to be a surprise. I thought I hid it well enough, but I guess not."

You look back at it, but don't really notice anything. "What was it for?"

He looks down. "I was saving it for our anniversary."

Your eyes immediately swell up with tears. "Oh Jimin, I'm so sorry. I-I'll go get another one first thing in the morni-"

"Forget it, I'm going to go to bed," he mutters, cutting you off. You watch as he walks away, stepping into your bedroom and not bothering to close the door. Your lips slightly stick out, guilt washing over your chest.

You sniffle, realizing that he's not coming back out, and you turn around. You quickly clean up the kitchen, disposing of the bottle and throwing away the wrappers to your snacks. After, you close the cabinets Jimin opened, frowning and peeking into the bedroom. He takes off his shirt and tosses it on the ground, which makes your left eye twitch, but you don't comment as he slips under the covers with a sigh. Should you even bother?

You grab your keys from off the counter, the jiggling noise making him sit up. "Where are you going?" he asks. Despite everything, he still has concern in his tone. Your heart melts, but on the outside you stay stiff.

"Out," you say, walking towards the door.

"Will I see you again tonight?"

You stop as you approach the door. You let your fingers trace over the knob, gnawing on your lower lip. "No," you reply, your tears falling when you open the door.

Right after you leave, you close it, locking it and taking a shaky breath. What the hell just happened? Jimin was acting so cold at the beginning there. He was the one who was gone all day. He didn't even bother sending you a message, or taking his comm with him. He left you in the dark. You knew he had a lot going on, but what's he expecting you to do? Sit around and wait all day for him? You hung out with your friend and decided to be an adult with her. You feel bad about the wine, but how could you have known? A grunt passes your lips. Right now, you really need your best friend.

Your feet drag you across the stairwell, departing on Jungkook's floor and walking down the hall, eyeing each apartment number until you find Jungkook's. You bite your lower lip, then gently knock. After only a few seconds, the door opens. Jungkook stands there with shock in his eyes. "Y/N? Is everything okay?"

You force a smile and nod. "Yeah, just wanted to check in on you."

"L/N.," he says, your tears starting to form again. "Come here, sweetheart." You go inside. As soon as he closes the door, he hugs you. You return it, rubbing his back. "Do I need to kill Jimin?"

"Wha- how did you know it was-"

"Because if it was a problem with anyone else, you would've gone to him, not me."

You pull back and give him a sad stare. "I don't know, I think we both need space from each other right now. He was gone all day without any note, then when he comes back, the first thing he does is get mad at me for drinking." Jungkook looks at you for a moment, then makes his decision. He quickly picks you up, swinging you over his shoulder. "Jeon! What the hell?"

He doesn't reply as he leads you into his room and plops you down on his bed. He lies down next to you, turning off his lamp, darkness flooding the room. "Stay with me tonight, okay?" he whisper-asks, and you nod. "Tell me everything." And you do. You spend the entire night with Jungkook, staying close to him and spilling out everything you kept trapped inside.

A/N: Bit of an emotional end, I know. I feel like Jimin and Y/N's relationship needs this though. The beginning phases are always hard, especially when you're in the middle of a war. This is going to be a big test for them, so I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I do! Have a good day guys!

Gotta ask: do you feel there are any 'underrated' friendships. Like an unlikely pair that you like together? My favorite would be Seul and Min with a dash of Baekhyun and Hobi.
