~20:11~

Yoongi floats in the 0g, his body feeling weightless as he approaches the bridge. Jimin told Seulgi, Hoseok, and Baekhyun to go back to the ship and keep an eye out, but Yoongi insisted on joining them. He's too worried about Jungkook: he needs something to ease his mind. Jimin checked in not too long ago to tell them that the Executive is awake, but not exactly happy with his condition. Who would be? Not being able to move for who knows how long, and that recovery process is going to take at least two full months, even with the medical advancements on Ganymede and Jungkook's enhancements.

Granted, they'll be able to give him certain things to keep him moving, but nothing can help his bones except... well, his bones. Then again, Yoongi doesn't know too much about that kind of stuff. Maybe he's missing something. Regardless, Hoseok floats not too far away. They decided against keeping the artificial gravity on, they could just use their magnetic boots instead. Why waste power if they're going to be up here for who knows how long?

"You holding up okay?" Hoseok asks as Yoongi approaches.

"I'll be better once Jungkook is. You?"

"Same way. I checked the scanners again, nothing seems to be coming up so far."

"Don't jinx it," Yoongi says in a teasing tone, causing Hoseok to softly smile.

"Baekhyun, how we looking?" Hoseok asks the man sitting in the pilot's chair.

"Fuel is all stocked up, Seulgi is on the gun still, but there's nothing on the radar so far."

Hoseok nods, then, his comm goes off. He presses it. "Hoseok speaking."

"Hoseok, we have new orders from Kai," Jimin says. For some reason, Jimin's voice soothes Yoongi's heart. It relaxes his body and allows him to stay calm, even if it's just for a moment.

"Hit me."

"He wants you to fly over to the western city and scan over the area, blast any Goliaths you see. He wants to know if the Moon's guns can work against them."

"Right away sir," Hoseok says, turning off the comm and shifting his attention to the cockpit. "You hear that Baekhyun?"

"Yes sir, I'm taking us over now," the Pilot replies.

Yoongi gazes at Hoseok in admiration. Jimin assigned him as the leader of this assignment, something about them all 'having responsibilities'. Hoseok protested, saying it should be Seulgi, but Jimin said he wanted her on the guns. Yoongi can't blame the Captain for his thinking. Seulgi's a natural leader, but so is Hoseok. He just needs to see it. By giving him an assignment like this, maybe Hoseok can gain his confidence and come out of his shell more. Well, he's already energetic and outgoing enough. More of the leader shell, if that makes sense.

Yoongi chuckles to himself just as the Moon rattles, moving fast and exiting the first big dome. They should arrive in only a few minutes at most. The cities are pretty close together, after all.

"Yoongi, can you get on the second gun?" Hoseok asks, causing Yoongi to hum.

"Yes sir," he replies. Hoseok goes still. Yoongi offers the man a smile. "You're doing good, Hobi. Don't doubt yourself."

Hoseok leans forward and places both of his hands on Yoongi's shoulders. "For Jungkook."

Yoongi nods, resting his forehead against Hoseok's. "For Jungkook."

They separate, and Yoongi goes to the bay, then to the ladder. He climbs down it, floating through the hallway until he reaches the back ladder that no one really touches, mostly since it leads to the guns. He goes down the ladder, passing by Seulgi's section. She waves, and to his own surprise, he waves back, then goes down to the seat right below her. Yoongi propels himself forward, sitting on the chair and strapping himself in. He's still slightly floating, but it's nothing too crazy, or at least not crazy enough to distract him.

Glass sits in front of him along with the joystick for the guns. He uses both hands to grab it, the giant cannon on the side of the ship moving where Yoongi tells it to. There's a motion tracker built-in to the joystick, but Yoongi sees nothing so far. It's smart enough to know the difference between a ground and air assault, so Yoongi watches it closely, making sure nothing changes. There's two red buttons on the top of the joystick, which are meant to be used to fire the gun. One button is for a quick bolt, the other he's supposed to hold for rapid fire. For now, Yoongi sticks to the quick bolt. He's not trying to level any skyscrapers on accident. There could be innocent civilians still there.

There's a beep at the comm on the joystick. Yoongi presses it. "In position?" Hoseok asks, and Yoongi nods despite how Hoseok can't see him. It's instinct, apparently.

"Yes sir."

"Alright, please keep this channel open so we can talk. Baekhyun has a faint ping on his scanner. Looks like we're coming up on something." Yoongi doesn't reply; he does as he's told and keeps his gun ready. He clears his throat, swallowing his nerves as his enhancements begin to kick in.

In general, he doesn't feel anything, which especially makes him worried for Jungkook. He wonders how the hell that boy is putting up with super soldier enhancements of all things. That must be terrible, but Yoongi doesn't think Jungkook should be in that much pain. It's probably him being tired. Yoongi can't help but worry anyway. He's starting to grow fond of the Executive. If not for his warm heart, then for his surprising maturity in these types of situations.

They reach the western city, flying high above the dome and peering at it carefully. "Baekhyun, do you read anything?" Hoseok asks, and Yoongi furrows his brows, looking at his own scanner.

"They're all inside the city. They haven't broken free yet," the Pilot replies.

"What if they break out of the dome?" Seulgi asks.

"Let's not think about that. These domes are meant to hold in even the most intense conditions. If the dome breaks, all life will be lost. These domes are the only thing keeping oxygen flowing to citizens," Hoseok says.

Yoongi feels terror cling to his chest. The feeling is strange to him. He's rarely afraid, or better yet, he rarely knows when he is afraid. The idea of knowing he's afraid scares him even more, but he tries his hardest to gulp it down and instead clutch the joystick harder.

"I'm entering the dome, stay sharp," Baekhyun says, passing through the top forcefield. Although the forcefield is gigantic, the Moon still barely fits. Baekhyun's too skilled, so he doesn't hit the glass connected to the forcefield, but it's still close.

They fly over the landscape, the city coming in fast. This dome isn't nearly as big as theirs. Theirs has miles upon miles of open space, meanwhile this one only has about one mile of open space, then the city hits. There doesn't even look to be outskirts to the city. The area surrounding the massive buildings is mostly untouched. Granted, it's a nice sight, but Yoongi can't help but like their dome better.

He sees a Goliath climbing a building, and several other Goliaths charging towards the edge of the dome. "Shit, open fire!" Hoseok commands. Yoongi obeys. Seulgi does as well, aiming for the one on the building while Yoongi focuses on the ones running away. He blasts one, the laser shooting out and hitting it right in the chest. It falls over, dead.

"They work. The guns work," Yoongi murmurs.

"At least we're finally getting some good news, keep going!" Hoseok says. Yoongi doesn't disagree, switching to rapid fire mode to do more damage.

He's careful not to shoot the dome, although he doubts that one or two hits will collapse it. He just wants to be sure. There has to be a good fifty Goliaths piled along the wall of the dome, growling and hissing, slamming themselves into the material. Yoongi's as careful as he can be, aiming for their backs. He misses more than he hits, but he manages to kill five more. Seulgi joins in after killing the one on the building, shooting down and killing two of her own.

"Baekhyun, bring us in closer," Hoseok says.

The Moon rumbles as it moves, lowering closer to the ground. Yoongi keeps a steady hand, his aim impeccable due to all his years of training. As he's said before: the things he can do honestly scare him. This is one of them. He only hopes he never has to fight anyone one-on-one. That'd be bad for the other person.

Yoongi pauses his shooting, leaning forward and investigating the Goliaths. "Yoongi? Why'd you stop?" Hoseok asks after a few seconds.

"Wait, Hoseok. Look," Yoongi whispers while pointing outside. He knows Hoseok can't see him, but he's in too much awe to stop. After a beat, Hoseok gasps.

There's a crack in the dome.

"Keep firing! The best thing we can do right now is kill as many as we can," Hoseok says. Yoongi hums in agreement, shooting again. He hits a few more, but it's no use. They keep pounding and pounding. More Goliaths charge from the city to the dome to join the others. Seulgi focuses on the new ones while Yoongi focuses on the old, but they aren't even making a dent. After a few more seconds, a loud 'bang' is heard, and the Moon rattles rapidly.

"What the fuck just happened!?" Seulgi shouts. Yoongi shakes his head, adjusting his vision. His eyes widen. The dome... there's a massive hole in the dome. Yoongi hears Hoseok take a shaky breath.

"Shit."

~20:15~

"I would ask how you are, but I can't imagine good," Alice says, but you shake her off.

"I'll live. Just... everything is coming back, you know?" She sighs to show her agreement, sympathy flashing in her eyes. Jimin paces around the room, Jin pacing with him.

"I hate this," Jimin mutters, balling his hands into fists at his side.

"Trust me, I do too," you reply. He doesn't even glance at you, he simply keeps pacing. You bite back a breath, peeking over at Alice. "Are you okay?"

"I'm alright, all things considered."

"At least one of us is," you say, giving her a small smile she returns.

The four of you are in Jin's room. You went to go check on Alice and Anya in the lab only to run into Alice right outside the hospital. She wanted to drop off flowers for Jungkook, which you're grateful for. So, you decided to fill Jin in as well. Jimin and Alice just kind of followed like lost puppies. Taehyung's still with Jungkook in the hospital, and as much as you'd like to join him, you also need to take care of yourself.

You do like Alice, but talking to her about your emotions is not a good idea right now. And Jimin? He's too on edge. So, you let out that breath you wanted to before and stand, hopping off Jin's couch. "Jin?" The man peeps up, stunned. Even Jimin looks at you in shock. "Can we talk?" you ask, and the man hesitates, unsure what to say. He sees your pleading look, then nods.

"Of course," he replies.

He motions to his bedroom. You follow him into it, but he takes it a step further and goes into his bathroom, closing both the bedroom door and the bathroom door once you're both inside. He locks it, then gives you a look.

"Are you okay?" he asks.

You have to say you're thrown off by the gentleness of his tone. However, this isn't really about you right now. "I'm under a lot of stress, and I'm worried about Jungkook, but then again we all are. I'm not going to stand here and whine about it. Kook would be mad at me for doing that anyway."

"Then what is it?"

"Are you okay?"

Jin takes a step back, knitting his brows together. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" You stare at him, and under your gaze, he seems to crack.

"You seem off. You've been progressively getting more and more strange. Plus, I feel like I haven't checked in in a while. Consider this me checking in." He blinks, standing still for a moment. "You don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to. I just want to know if you're going to be okay."

"I will be. I promise."

At his determined gaze, you nod. "Okay. I believe you." You're about to walk to the door when he stops you, speaking once more.

"Sometimes I feel lonely. Other times I feel like I don't fit in."

You slow your pace, stopping in front of the door and turning to face him. "What?" you ask in a soft tone.

"Growing up wasn't fun. You know all about that." You stay silent, a bitter look in your eye when you think of your childhood. "Taehyung asked me the other day if I wanted love in my life, but I couldn't bring myself to tell him the full story. But I feel like I can with you." Although you're taken aback, you don't let that show. You simply stand there, encouraging him to keep talking. "My parents never really yelled at me or anything of the sort. They just kind of forgot I existed. They didn't care. I'd have to fight for their attention, but it seemed like the only time I got it was when I started crying or something of the sorts."

You frown, taking in the story and pretending it isn't eerily similar to yours. "My brother got away from Sturgeon as fast as possible and never contacted again. Any partner I've ever had ended up leaving because I kept fucking up. I kept getting too attached and too emotional. I'm so scared of love. Please, Y/N, tell me how you do it." Your eyes jump at that. "How do you love and trust Jimin so unconditionally? How are you not scared to get too emotional in front of him?"

With a breath, you trek forward, entwining your hand with Jin's. He's surprised by your sudden action, but squeezes your hand regardless. "Sometimes it's terrifying. Sometimes it's beyond terrifying. Trusting someone enough to be in your personal space both physically and mentally? That takes a lot of work. For me, it's since Jimin and I click so naturally it's unbelievable. But it's not only him. This crew... gosh, where do I even begin? This crew, more than just Jimin, love each other deeply. You said it yourself, we're all meant for each other. So, Jin..."

You break off, locking eyes with him. "At the very least, don't be scared to love this crew, because we'll love you back just as hard if not harder."

He processes your words, sniffling. He even has tears in his eyes, something you never thought you'd see from Kim Seokjin. "Thank you. Thank you so much."

"Come here," you say, and he does, embracing you. You hug him back tightly, listening to his sniffles. "You'll be okay, I promise." He nods, pulling back and offering you a smile. There's a knock on the door, which causes the two of you to jump.

"Guys, I have news," Jimin's muffled voice says.

You go over and unlock the door, opening it. "What's up?" you ask. Jimin motions for you to come back out. You do, Jin following closely as Jimin leads you back out to the main area. Alice is in the kitchen, leaning against the nearest counter. Jimin stands in the middle of the area, you and Jin gathering around him.

"There's no easy way to say it, so I'll just say it. The western city is gone. The Goliaths broke a hole through the dome."

You take a shaky step back. "N-No, that's impossible. Those domes are meant to withhold cruiser blasts, how could they-"

"I don't know, but Hoseok commed and told me that's what happened. They're on their way back here to help defend the city. We're assuming the southern city is in the same shape. We need to divert all our resources to these next three days. When Earth gets here, we can probably hold them back. Until then, we need to be extra careful." Despite Jimin's words, you still feel your head throb, the room spinning. You take a step back, leaning against the counter.

Jin steadies you. "Hey... what's going on?" You shake him off. If what Jimin said is true, your brothers are dead. Your vision progressively gets hazier by the second, your throat and skin dry.

"Y/N?" Jimin asks, placing a hand on your cheek. You force your eyes to meet his. "Y/N can you hear me?" There's a beat of hesitation, then you nod. "What's wrong?" When he gets no answer from you, he motions to the others. "Jin, Alice, can you give us a minute please?" They agree and step to the other side of the room, going over to the couch and watching from a distance.

"What can I do?" he whispers.

"My brothers, they live in the western and southern cities."

"Shit..." Your eyes tear up. They may be assholes, but they're still family. You can't forget that no matter how hard you try. "I'm so sorry, angel," he mutters. He pauses, coming a bit closer. "Can I hug you?" After your nod, he quickly embraces you, your eyes closing as your head hits his chest. You wrap your arms around him, your body starting to feel somewhat normal again. Your heart still beats fast, but there's nothing you can really do about that now.

He pulls back, giving you a questioning glance. "I'll be okay, I just need a minute," you mumble.

"Sure, take your time."

"Jimin."

He raises a brow. "Yeah?"

"Alone."

He looks hurt for a moment, then leans down and kisses your forehead. "Do what you have to do."

"I'm sorry-"

"Hey, don't do that, baby. Don't apologize. Trust me, I get it." Although you're unconvinced, he steps away from you. You let out a shaky breath and retreat to the bedroom, not bothering to shut the door.

You sit on Jin's bed, thinking about how crazy these past few days have been. You knew the crash was coming, but you didn't think it would be this hard. First, you have a whole group out to attack you. Then, creatures breaking out all over the place. And now? Your brothers. Gone. You didn't talk to them much throughout your childhood, but that doesn't change anything. They're still your blood. You thought you broke ties with your family, but apparently they're still in your thoughts. As much as you don't like Alisha or Phoebe, you don't want them to die. You wouldn't be able to cope with that. You've seen enough people die. Hell, you've caused enough death.

A shudder passes through your body. The lives you took while rescuing Jungkook are still haunting you, but you have to move past it. They were going to kill you, but that doesn't stop you from feeling bad.

You peek into the kitchen, watching as Jimin talks into his comm. Probably Kai, filling him in on the recent development. You're still not sure what to say. An entire city gone. The oxygen will be sucked out in minutes depending on the size of the hole. The odds of your brothers making it out are slim to none. You want to be optimistic, but you can't. Not this time.

You take one last breath, closing your eyes and letting your thoughts consume you for another thirty seconds before reluctantly standing. Despite the news, you still have a job to do. You need to protect Ganymede. If not for yourself, or for the people, then for Jungkook. He's powerless. You can't imagine a world without him, so you need to fight as hard as you can to keep him safe. You know he's stubborn and will probably try walking by the end of tomorrow. At this rate, you're going to have to hold him down.

With your strength gathered, you saunter into the kitchen, giving Jimin an apologetic glance. However, he smiles instead, turning off his comm. "You okay? Wait, that's a stupid question-"

"I'll pull through," you interrupt, giving him a small smile back. He gestures for you to come closer, so you do, crossing the room and embracing him once again. "I'm so sorry," he whispers again. You can't help but give him a squeeze.

"What did Kai say?"

"He didn't say much. I think he was shocked. He's reinforcing the military outside the dome and mass-distributing helmets to civilians. Hoseok's on his way back to gun down any coming our way. The guns on the Moon can kill them."

"Well, finally some good news," you mutter, and Jimin nods in agreement.

"Should we turn on the news?" Alice asks. She's surprisingly quiet, but you don't blame her. How would you react if three people who you just met are breaking down in front of you? You shudder at the thought but say "yes" to Alice regardless. You pull away from Jimin as she turns the TV on. A newsfeed from Ganymede pops up.

"We've lost the western city! I repeat, we've lost the western city! All civilians seeing this broadcast, please stay inside until Governor Kai makes an announcement saying you can leave." As if on cue, you hear sirens outside, and you can't help but jump.

"We're safe, don't worry," Jimin tries, but you shake your head.

"No one's ever truly safe, Min. We all knew this was going to happen. It was only a matter of time."

You turn your attention back to the TV, watching as the female reporter explains what happened at the western city. Your eyes progressively get wider as the woman explains, going into detail about the effects the hole will have on the environment. However, it's almost certain: whoever was inside the western city is definitely dead. Your breath gets caught in your throat, not only at the thought of your brothers, but at the thought of all those people. All those innocent lives lost. Lives like yours. How are you supposed to react to that?

"Are the Goliaths still locked up tight here?" Jimin asks.

"They better be. I should go check on that actually, before they start dragging people back into their houses," Alice says.

"Go. Find Anya and tell her to stay safe for me, yeah?" Jimin asks.

Alice hums. "Thank you for letting me stay here, and I'm so sorry for everything."

"Why are you sorry?" Jin asks, and Alice looks startled by the sudden question.

"You guys are going through a lot right now. I just wanted you to know you're not alone."

Jimin steps in front of Jin before he can answer. "We appreciate it."

She gives one last nod before departing, closing the door behind her. "What was that about?" you ask Jin, giving him a bewildered look.

He looks down in shame. "Sorry... on edge."

"It's okay, I don't think she took offense to it. Hopefully she'll help Anya fortify security at the lab. We can't risk a Goliath escaping inside the city."

"That's the last thing we need. Let me check in on Hoseok," Jimin says. He presses his comm, and you take a few steps back, giving him some breathing room. "Hobi, do you read me?" He waits a few seconds, then, there's static.

"Yes sir, we're hovering outside of the city. We have nothing so far."

"Good. I'm going to need you to stay up there until I say otherwise, got it? Also, can I borrow Baekhyun? Do you know how to fly?" You can hear Hoseok hum.

"Yoongi probably can. Let me check." There's silence for a moment. "Just confirmed he can. We're on it, sir. We'll bring Baekhyun down to you. How's it going on the ground?"

"Nothing crazy exciting yet. I'm going to take Y/N back to our room so we can grab our EMPs. I advise taking shifts. These next three days are going to be long."

"I agree. Good luck, sir."

"Good luck to you too." Jimin turns off the comm, closing his eyes for a moment before glancing over at Jin. "Stay inside, keep your EMP on you at all times, got it?" Jin firmly nods. "Good. Y/N?" You hum. "Let's go." You give Jin a small smile before following Jimin. Jin returns your smile as your Captain opens the door, stepping through. You follow, closing the door behind you.

"I know this isn't exactly easy. Are you gonna be okay?" you ask, falling into step with him.

"Honestly? Probably not, but there's nothing anyone can do about that now."

"Let me know if there's anything I can do, okay?"

Jimin gives your hand a squeeze, rubbing the back of it for a moment longer than needed. "Always. There's really only one thing we can do right now," he says.

"What's that?" you ask, shifting your eyes toward him in time to see him sadly smile.

"Sleep."
