Ganymede

A/N: Jungkook and Y/N being a chaotic duo and I'm here for it.

Also they've been in space so long that it feels weird writing them on a planet, especially one so significant. I like it though, I feel like it's a much needed change of pace.

~22:35~

The last thing you remember is suddenly being thrown off your feet.

You groan. This is the second time you've lost consciousness in the course of an hour. Surely that can't be good for the head. You slowly open your eyes only to find more darkness. You start to sit up, confused, but your body is in immense pain. "Shh shh, go back to bed," a familiar male voice coos.

You look around and find a small fire, Jungkook sitting on the other side. You give him a confused look, "Jungkook? Is that really you?"

He nods. "In the flesh."

You immediately smile and sit on your knees, starting to crawl over to him. He laughs at the sight. You approach him, wrapping him in your arms. You hold him tightly, glad that he's here, in your embrace. "I thought I lost you," you whisper.

He shakes his head, "I'm not going anywhere."

You pull back and give him a cheeky smile. "So, want to tell me what happened?"

"Ship crashed. When I woke up I was strapped down, so I broke free and found you lying on the ground. Got you out before the smoke was too much and found a cave not too far away."

Your smile falters, and your eyes widen. "Wait so... we're on Ganymede?"

He somberly nods. "We are."

"Guess it had to happen sooner or later. What do we do now? Can we find the crew?"

"I kind of destroyed your long distance comm, and I don't have the equipment to track them so..."

"We're on our own?" He looks down, and you can't help but do the same. "Do you want to explain how the fuck you built a fire on Ganymede?"

He chuckles, "Two rocks, enhancements, and pellets from the walls."

"From the walls?"

"There's traces of wood in the pellets. Flammable."

"How did you know that?"

Jungkook glances at the ground for a moment. "Enhancements. The new one they injected me with gave me both intelligence and seduction. I guess I'm super smart, super strong, and super hot now."

"Kook, you were always super hot." He gives you a small smile, but you can't help but let your mind wander. "Where's Jimin?" you quietly ask.

Jungkook hesitates. "I have no idea."

You feel panic start to eat away at your heart. "He could still be onboard, we have to go back for him."

"Y/N-"

"You and him are the two most important people to me..."

"I understand but-"

"I'm going back."

"Y/N, wait-"

"I love him!"

He stares at you in astonishment, and you're amazed that you said it too. You sit back, processing your words. Jungkook's lips slowly turn into a smirk, and you turn red. "J-Jungkook you little shit now is not the time for a-"

"Oh but it really is the time for an 'I told you so'. Someone's disgustingly in loooove."

"We are sitting in a cave, Jimin is missing, and we have no idea where the rest of the crew is, but you're more interested in my love life?"

He gives you an 'are you serious look'. "Yes."

You let out a much needed laugh. So does he, the two of you laughing hard together for a solid twenty seconds before dialing down. "When's the last time we laughed like that?" you ask, and he sighs.

"Probably the night before I left."

You think back to that night, remembering every detail. "We should have more nights like that," you whisper. He gives you a smile. "What?" you ask innocently, slowly smiling back.

"I think we already are," he replies, motioning to the fire and the cave.

"I consider this more of a hiding for our lives situation," you let out, leaning back slightly. You go quiet for a few moments, then softly smile. "I love him," you whisper, feeling your stomach swell up with bliss at the thought.

"Y/N, can I tell you something?" You hum. "You're literally the last person to figure this out."

Your eyes nearly burst out of your head and you glare at him. "Excuse me?"

He laughs, "Everyone already figured that out, except for you and Jimin of course." You pout, faking a look of hurt and crossing your arms across your chest. "I'm just saying," Jungkook says, throwing his hands up in defeat.

"You know how you can make it up to me?" you ask, and he raises a brow. "Take me back to the ship so we can find Jimin."

"What about Yoongi?"

"Oh yeah him too."

Jungkook gives you a funny look before shaking you off. "What I was going to tell you before you professed your undying love for our surprisingly hot Captain was that the ship went up in flames. Anyone inside is either already dead from the crash or about to die from the smoke." You give him a death glare, and he only seems confused. "What?"

"Did you check the bridge? Did you look for survivors?" Jungkook shakes his head, licking his lower lip really fast.

"Y/N when I saw you lying there, I thought you were dead. My top priority was getting you out. I'm sorry I didn't go look for anyone, but I thought we were going to die if we didn't leave immediately."

You sigh, your shoulders slumping. "Don't apologize, I understand. I'm grateful, really. Shit, I'm the one who should be sorry."

"You're on edge, I get it. If I didn't know where you were I probably would've forced my way to the ship by now." You pause, then look up at him with wide eyes. He catches on and sighs, "Y/N L/N I literally have enhancements. You try to leave this cave and you'll regret it."

You bite back a whine of protest. Then you get curious and look into his eyes, studying his face. "What... what did they do to you?" you can't help but ask.

His left eye twitches. "They injected me with the super soldier enhancement."

"Does it still work?"

"It does, but somehow I still have my emotions. I'm guessing that means it's not as strong as it would be if I was numb."

You frown, bringing your hand to his cheek and brushing your thumb over one of the lines. "Does it hurt?" you whisper, and he lets his eyes hit the ground.

"Terribly."

You're almost scared to ask the next question. "What was it like?"

He stays quiet for a few moments, which makes you worried you asked something too personal, but he eventually sighs. "I felt... nothing. I didn't know who I was. I felt like I barely knew my own name or how I got to where I was. All I knew was that I had someone who was with me, and I needed to stay loyal to him. That was Jackson."

"So you didn't even remember me?"

He shakes his head, "Then, when you dropped down, I felt my heart skip a beat. I felt like I recognized you, but couldn't quite put my finger on it." He finally brings his eyes up to meet yours. "Then you started talking, and it was like all at once I felt everything come back. I broke free of the spell. You saved me Y/N."

You give him a nudge. "And I would do it again in a heartbeat. I'm glad to have you back. When the Belt first came, for a few seconds I really thought I'd never see you again." His eyes expand, and your eyes drop. "I was terrified."

The two of you fall into a short silence, then he nods, "I was terrified too." You smile, and so does he. You stay like that for a few moments before letting out a loud yawn. He chuckles. "It's been a long day, and it's late. You should sleep."

You furrow your brows. "What about you?"

"Don't worry about me, I'm sure I'll sleep eventually."

"Kook..."

He lets out a long breath, "I'll at least try, how about that?"

You reach up and ruffle his hair, "Works for me." He flinches at your actions, softly smiling as you stand and walk over to the corner of the cave. You're not too far away from the fire, but far enough that the smoke doesn't bother you. "Goodnight Jungkook," you say, kneeling, then fully lying down on the rough terrain. He grins, giving you a nod.

"Goodnight Y/N."

~22:57~

Jimin watches as Yoongi tries to use his long distance comm, but it's no use. They're standing not too far away from the ship, their armor completely shattered off their body. If it wasn't for the armor, neither of them would be alive. The only problem is that their comms got destroyed as well. That certainly makes things difficult.

"You don't suppose there's any payphones around, do you?" Jimin jokes.

Yoongi looks at him in confusion. "A payphone?"

Jimin's smile falters. "Yeah, you know, like the ones seen in those ancient movies?" He blinks at his Captain, which causes him to sigh and drop it. "Never mind. Do you have any idea where we are?"

"Ganymede."

"No shit Sherlock I meant are there any towns around? Any people?"

Yoongi only looks more confused, "Sherlock?"

"Okay, you and I are having a movie marathon when we get back. Until then, we need to focus on finding somewhere to lie low."

Yoongi shrugs, not questioning it. Jimin looks around, seeing the large, empty terrain all around them. Ganymede is honestly worse than Y/N described it. His heart hurts at the thought of her, but he pushes it down to instead focus. He can mourn later. Right now, he needs to get himself and Yoongi to safety. It's what she would've wanted. He gulps at the thought, going completely still. He feels sick.

"You okay?" Yoongi asks.

Jimin kneels, placing one hand on his chest and the other on the ground. His fingernails dig into the hard, gray surface. He can't help but look up. His eyes widen. Jupiter stares back at him, the vastness of space awaiting him. Jimin trembles. Ganymede really is terrifying. "She's gone," he whispers, the reality crushing his heart.

"We don't know that," Yoongi urges, but Jimin shakes his head.

"She didn't check in, her and Jungkook are mysteriously missing, there's her blood and her comm near a large dent. What am I supposed to think?"

Yoongi kneels down in front of him. "Get up," he commands. Jimin looks at Yoongi in shock.

"Excuse m-"

"Get up," he interrupts, giving his Captain a stern look. Jimin's so terrified that he obliges, slowly standing, his legs slightly shaking. "Did you see her or Jungkook's body?"

"Well no, but-"

"But nothing. There was blood, but no body. Jungkook and Y/N are mysteriously missing. Don't you think that's weird?"

"You know who else is missing?" Yoongi raises a brow. "Jackson." Yoongi growls, shaking his head and starting to walk away. "Where are you going?" Jimin asks, rushing forward to keep up.

"If Jackson's missing that means we should get as far away as possible. The rest of the Belt will come looking for him soon, and we don't want to be on Ganymede when that happens."

"What do you think will happen?"

Yoongi stops for a moment, looking back at Jimin. At his serious look, Jimin feels his nerves build up even more. "The end of the war."

His eyes widen as Yoongi starts forward again, not giving Jimin the chance to reply. Jimin hurries to move as they approach a large hill that will give them the high ground. "Well, it might be a pain in the ass to climb, but at least we can feel tall for once."

Yoongi slowly turns to look at him, then completely ignores his comment. "Let's get this over with so I can go back to bed," he mutters, starting to traverse the hill.

"Jeez, someone's grumpy, you act like my grandpa. Maybe I should call you that from now on," Jimin says, slightly rambling as he follows, climbing as best he can. Yoongi growls in response, not giving him any more words. "I should be the grumpy one, my girlfriend is probably dead in a ditch somewhere and there's nothing I can do to-"

"Do you ever stop talking?" Yoongi interrupts, and Jimin sighs, then shuts up.

His heart is still hammering, him still feeling sick to his stomach at the thought of Y/N being gone - but Yoongi's right. There were no bodies, and as long as there's no bodies, there's a chance. He has a small amount of hope, but he still feels more terrified than he's ever been in his life. Jimin can't even put words to the feeling. Trying to joke around to take off the tension isn't even helping. He feels so lost.

After another three minutes of climbing, they reach the top. Jimin pants as he approaches Yoongi's side and looks down at the surface. His eyes widen once he sees a large city not too far away. It looks heavily guarded and has a large wall surrounding it. "I'm guessing that's our best bet?" Yoongi questions. Jimin gulps before nodding. He looks around, seeing how the top of the hill is spiky, providing for good cover. It's cold, but they'll have to deal with it. Without the dome, they probably would have frozen to death by now, but that still doesn't mean that the surface is nice and toasty.

"Alright, let's go," Yoongi says.

Jimin grabs his elbow and holds him back. "It's late, everyone is on edge, and we have no idea where our crew is. This is the perfect spot to set up camp. High ground and lots of cover. I think we should rest and start again in the morning."

"This is Ganymede: there's no such thing as morning."

"Fair, but we should try to get at least some rest. We had a long day."

Yoongi hesitates, then nods in agreement. "Alright, should we take turns keeping watch?"

Jimin nods, "I'll take first shift." Yoongi gives him a questioning stare, but Jimin shakes him off. "I'll be fine." Almost immediately, he starts to yawn.

"Yeah... sure you will."

"I'm the Captain, I should take the first watch."

Yoongi gives him a knowing look. "Jimin you're under a lot more emotional pressure than me, plus you don't have enhancements. If I don't get that much sleep, it's not a big deal, but you..."

"I probably won't sleep anyway."

"Try," Yoongi says pleadingly.

Jimin can't help but be taken aback. Yoongi seems like he genuinely cares. He locks eyes with Yoongi, then nods. "Alright... alright, I'll try." Jimin takes a few steps in the other direction, sitting against a spike and taking his AR off, placing it on the ground next to him.

He lets out a breath as his back hits the hard spike, but he refuses to let it bother him. This is probably the best he'll get. He gazes up again, seeing the massive red dot not too far away. So, this is what it feels like. A single tear rolls down his cheek as he feels his body become overwhelmed with exhaustion. His eyes flutter closed, and after a few minutes, he starts to feel more and more tired. The last thing he sees before he passes out is Y/N's face, smiling.

~6:02~

"After everything he's done, you still want to find your father?"

Y/N nods, "I know, it's crazy, but I think he's here. I really do."

Jungkook can't hide his astonishment as they approach Y/N's home city, protected by massive walls and guards. "Why would he come here?" Jungkook asks.

"Because you asked him to."

"That doesn't help."

Y/N sighs, walking in front of him and stopping him. "I know he's an asshole," she mumbles.

"Literally the biggest one in the entire solar system."

"Yeah, definitely, but I still know him. He turned you in because he thought it might buy him some time for him to get here. If he isn't here yet, then I know he'll be here soon. He would do anything to protect his reputation. And after what I said about him during the broadcast... he needs to repair that reputation."

Jungkook sighs, then agrees. "Alright, what do you suggest we do?"

"We go to my house and talk to my mom. She probably heard from him at some point. With you by my side, I know she wouldn't try anything."

He hums. "And if she does, can I throw her into a wall?"

"Or a fridge, or a table, or through a window, the possibilities are endless."

"I like this idea, I'm in."

She chuckles. "She probably won't do anything, so don't get too excited. Let's get there first."

They fall into a small silence as the walls of her city get closer. Only around two more minutes until they reach the back entrance now. Y/N looks down, playing with the surface's hard dirt and refusing to look up at the sky. "I miss Seulgi..." she whispers, and Jungkook nods in agreement.

"I miss Tae..."

She risks a peek up at him. "You and him have gotten close. Do you trust him yet?"

Jungkook's ears turn pink at the question, but he answers regardless. "I do."

"Good, now the jury's still out on Jin. Think he'll bail on us as soon as they touch down?"

Jungkook pauses to think about it, then shakes his head. "No actually. He may be one self-centered man but I think he enjoys our company."

Y/N considers his words, then agrees. "I hope so, he gives us much needed stress relief."

"I agree," Jungkook whispers as they approach the back.

"Do you think they'll ask for ID?" Y/N jokes.

Jungkook can't help but snicker as a guard approaches, raising his AR. "Stop right there! Identify yourselves!"

Y/N holds up her hands, and Jungkook does the same. "Y/N... Y/N L/N." The guard slowly lowers his weapon. "This is Jeon Jungkook. We're members of the Moonchild, and I'm sure you know my father." The guard's expression is unreadable since he's wearing a helmet, but Jungkook can tell the man is baffled.

"What is your business here?"

"Do I not live here?"

"The city is on lockdown. No one's allowed in or out." Y/N takes a cautious step forward, and the guard allows it.

"My family is in there, am I not allowed to see them? In the middle of a crisis? Come on you know my family name, you know I'm a citizen."

He nods, "I know, but there's nothing I can do. I'm sorry."

"There has to be something. Did my father enter the city at all?"

"If he did, not on my watch."

"Please let us in. I know it's a big favor to ask, but maybe pretend you never saw us?"

He hesitates. "Your broadcast stopped Earth from attacking us..." he says.

Both Jungkook and Y/N's eyes light up in shock. "Earth was going to attack Ganymede?"

"Mars sent a message pinning the death of the Hep on us without our knowledge. When your broadcast aired, Earth got in contact with us and declared war with Mars."

Jungkook looks over at her, and she looks back. "They pinned it on Ganymede? That makes no sense," Y/N whispers.

"Great, another layer to this never ending mystery," Jungkook says with a small groan, turning back to the guard.

"Maybe to weaken the Earth forces so they can attack easier?" she suggests. That... actually makes sense.

"This could have been a lot worse for us if it wasn't for you. Go ahead. My family is still alive, and I can see them thanks to you. What kind of man would I be if I denied you from seeing yours?"

She lets out a breath of relief. "Thank you, I can't tell you how much this means to me."

He nods, "Although I will still need to check you for weapons."

Y/N points at Jungkook, who raises a brow. "His whole body's a weapon."

The guard glances between him and her. "Right... I'm sure you would know."

Y/N instantly flushes. "T-That's not what I meant oh my God." She's mortified, hiding her face with her hands. Jungkook goes red as well, gulping. In the past, yeah, she would definitely know. But now? His cheeks start to glow, and the guard doesn't react. "Enhancements," she says.

"I see. I know it's hard to control, but try to keep the glowing to a minimum. Don't draw any attention to yourselves. Everyone knows your faces."

Y/N nods, her face returning to its natural color as she steps forward and holds her arms out, allowing him to search her. In the crash, she lost her pistol and knife, so she should be fine. He saw them on the ground next to her and didn't bother grabbing them. He was too preoccupied with getting her to safety. Once she's cleared, Jungkook's cheeks stop their glowing and he steps up, repeating Y/N's actions and letting the man pat him down.

"All clear. Good luck," the guard says before going over to the panel. "I can only override it for five seconds before they detect something, so go through as soon as it opens." Y/N and Jungkook nod, preparing as he starts to mess with the controls. "Ready?" They nod. "Now!" he calls, and the door opens. Y/N darts through. Jungkook does as well, trying not to trigger his new enhancements.

As soon as he's fully inside, the door closes behind him and he pants, looking over at Y/N. She's already sticking to the corners and shadows. He follows her into an alley and peeks out of the corner, looking around. This is so much different from what he remembers. He doesn't remember there being any skyscrapers or busy roads, but now there are. There's so many different buildings and people. Luckily they're far away from most of the life, clearly on the outskirts of the large city, but he's snapped out of his thoughts when Y/N grabs his shoulder. He looks back at her, bewildered, his enhancements starting to hurt his body. "What is it?" She gives him a cheeky smile.

"Welcome home."

~6:18~

"You really don't stop talking, do you?" Yoongi asks as they approach the front gate, which makes Jimin sigh.

"I'm trying my hardest to keep my mind off of you-know-who, so if you could go with it I would appreciate that."

"What do I get out of it?"

Jimin's taken aback by the question, even scoffing. "My love."

"Why would I ever want that?" Jimin bites back his snarl as a guard approaches them, clicking off the safety to his AR.

Jimin jumps and holds his hands up, Yoongi hesitating before doing the same. "Identify yourselves!" he calls, holding up his AR.

"Captain Park Jimin of the Moonchild and Commanding Officer Min Yoongi of Triton."

The guard doesn't react, he simply steps closer. "Are you armed?"

"Yes, both of us have ARs and pistols."

"Drop them," the guard commands.

Yoongi peeks at Jimin, who nods. "It's okay," he whispers, going back to grab his AR.

"Slowly!" he yells. Jimin pauses, then slows his motions. Yoongi follows in his footsteps, taking his AR off his body and tossing it on the ground in front of them. Jimin does the same to his pistol, watching as it helplessly hits the surface. "Step towards me. I need to pat you down for extra weapons." Yoongi and Jimin step forward in-sync. The guard pats them both down for a few seconds before nodding and stepping back. "What's your business here?"

"We have three objectives. I believe two members of my crew may be inside. One of which is Y/N L/N. I wish to speak with her father and maybe even whoever is in charge of Ganymede."

The guard stays stiff. "We aren't accepting any visitors at this time."

"Ask. Please. Tell them who we are and what we want."

"They won't care."

"It's worth a try," Jimin says.

The guard pauses before sighing, then brings his comm to his mouth. "Sir, we have two locals at the front gate."

"Send them away," a static-filled male voice replies.

"I was sir, but one of them is Park Jimin."

There's silence for about eight seconds. "Bring him to me," he replies, and the comm shuts off.

The guard seems stunned, but agrees nonetheless. "Looks like it's your lucky day."

"Or unlucky," Yoongi mutters, causing Jimin to give him a sharp nudge.

"Follow me," the guard commands. Jimin and Yoongi obey.

He brings them inside the city. Jimin's eyes drink in the sight. The city is large and mostly metallic, the streets bustling with life. There are vendors and salesmen walking around, trying to convince people to buy random trinkets. Kids play on the sidewalks, laughing and messing around. Jimin can't help but be in awe of the environment. He hasn't seen a place this alive since he's last been to Earth. It almost brings a tear to his eye.

He immediately knows where they're going. There's one skyscraper noticeably taller than the rest not too far from them. "Who is your leader? Why hasn't he made contact with us but wants to talk to us all of a sudden?" Yoongi asks, which snaps Jimin's attention over to them.

"I have no idea, the answers to those questions are over my pay grade."

"You get paid? My God I haven't been paid in over a month," Jimin groans.

"Don't you need to replenish the food dispensers soon?" Yoongi asks.

"As if we have the money for that."

The three go quiet as they approach the skyscraper, and the guard pushes through the doors. There's a small hallway that leads to a lobby with white walls. There's a single middle-aged lady sitting behind the desk, not bothering to look up as the three walk by and towards the elevators. "Working elevators too. Jeez these guys have it all," Jimin whispers to himself as the guard presses the 'call elevator' button.

After a few seconds, it gets there, and the trio enter. He presses the top floor - 102. Looks like they have a minute. Although elevators are pretty fast nowadays. Some fancy scientist named Menda or something came up with a new lightspeed travel for elevators. Not actual lightspeed, but it's fast. Zips them up and down, making for max efficiency. Jimin never really paid attention to those kinds of things. He didn't have to, after all. He never planned on living in a city again. Or a planet, for that matter.

Jimin and Yoongi choose to stay quiet, keeping their hands folded in front of them as the elevator zips by each floor. The guard doesn't speak either, probably not caring enough to do so. However, a single question plagues Jimin's mind. "What's on the top floor?" he asks quietly, and the guard shrugs.

"Don't really know. I'm a grunt you think I meet with the boss? Only reason why I speak to him is because I guard the wall. If I were to guess - it's the top floor, so I'd say an office. Just one really big office or conference room."

Jimin nods in acceptance as they ping past the ninety-fifth floor, meaning only a few more seconds until they arrive. Jimin's heart is in his throat right now. He's not sure how to feel. Ganymede could want him dead or worse, or maybe they found Y/N. Jimin scowls at the thought. That's too optimistic. He wants to think like that, but he can't. He's so terrified of losing her that he can barely breathe without knowing if she's okay.

The elevator stops, not so much as a small shake as it pings, signaling that they're at the top floor. Jimin sighs and adjusts his shirt, running a hand through his hair. Yoongi looks at him in confusion but doesn't comment. The doors open, and a bright light meets them. He resists the urge to groan. It's an office. "Go in, I'm assuming he doesn't care about me," the guard whispers. The two share a look before agreeing, stepping off and entering the office. It's a white room, obnoxiously bright white lights in the ceiling and two windows on the left and right. There's a large, white desk near the top of the room, a man sitting in the chair, his back facing them, and a bookshelf taking up the space of the top wall as well.

"Park Jimin..." a scarily familiar male voice says. Jimin's blood goes cold as the man swivels around in his chair. He knows just based off the tone who it is.

He's a seemingly tall man, brown hair and piercing blue eyes, his forehead slightly wrinkled. He folds his hands on the table and motions with his head for the two to come closer. Jimin stays still as Yoongi obeys, and the man looks back at his Captain with confusion. "Where the hell is she?" Jimin demands, narrowing his eyes.

"Who?"

"Your daughter."

Y/N's father doesn't seem to react. "Isn't she supposed to be with you?" he asks. Jimin grits his teeth, but her father simply points to the two chairs in front of his desk. "Come, sit..." he trails off to give Jimin a tight smile.

"We have a lot to talk about."

~6:18~

"We don't have much time," you whisper, eyeing your house. You lurk in the shadows with Jungkook behind you. You can tell he's nervous, but he pushes through and you appreciate that. "How long do you think we have until the Belt attacks?" you ask, and Jungkook shrugs, his cheeks starting to faintly glow.

"An hour at most. They've already waited a long time. If Jackson's still alive and around, I'm sure he's looking for us too. And with his enhancements, he'll probably force his way in. One guard won't stop him."

You nod, pausing before letting out a sigh. "If you don't want to come inside with me you don't have to."

Jungkook almost looks offended. "Wherever you go I go L/N." You give him a soft smile before turning back to look at your house, creeping out of the shadows and starting towards it. Your house was never too large, and it's on the outskirts of the city, leading to the perfect view of the sky of course. So much fun. What a great childhood.

It's made out of wood, which is rare on Ganymede. Most of the city is metallic. Your house also has a porch, and you see one of your sisters sitting out on it, her eyes closed. She's up early. You approach, then place your foot on the first stair. It creaks. That gets your sister's attention. She snaps up, then her eyes fall on you and they widen. "Oh my God, Y/N?!" she says, instantly standing. You bring your finger over your mouth as you nod. Her eyes land on Jungkook, who's slowly walking up behind you.

"Did you seriously run away to be with your ex-boyfriend? Wasn't he the one who ran away from you?" she asks, an undertone of venom in her voice.

"Good to see you too Alisha," Jungkook mutters, shaking his head.

"What the hell is wrong with your face?" she asks him.

"You haven't seen me in over a month, Ganymede is at war with the Belt, and I made a broadcast talking about alien life, but you care more about Jungkook's face?"

Alisha raises a brow, "Well, yeah. He's hot." Jungkook bites back his urge to growl, which makes you smile.

"We need to talk to mom. Is she home?"

"Yeah, she's doing the dishes last I checked."

You scoff. "Good to see you too. And you wonder why I wanted to leave."

You march towards the door, but she grabs your arm. "Hey, look. I'm glad to see you, I really am, but you disappeared without warning. What were we supposed to think?"

You glance down at her hand, then you look up and lock eyes with her. You rip your arm out of her grasp and grit your teeth. "I'm an adult, I can make my own decisions."

"But you made a bad one."

"Says the one who wasn't being beaten by her father," you reply, and her eyes widen.

"What? N-No dad would never-"

"But he did, and none of you ever noticed. Mom watched as he screamed at me and gave me bruises. You refused to believe it because you hold him in the same light everyone else fucking does. A hero. Well newsflash - he's not. He threatened my crew, my life, my boyfriend, and now Jungkook."

Alisha is too shocked to reply at first, however her eyes display her heartbreak. "Y/N, I'm so sorry..."

"Save it, I have more important things to take care of. You've made your intentions clear. Let's go Jungkook." You don't say another word, you simply pass right by her and enter your home, the door unlocked since Alisha is out front. Jungkook follows, not speaking as you walk into your living room. You have a rather-large house due to your family's size, but the front of the house has always been rather condensed.

It's wooden, a fireplace in the corner that's the only part of your house surrounded by brick. There's a flat screen TV mounted on the wall, a couch not far away from it. That's on the right, on the left is your kitchen. It has many cabinets, a large table, a fridge, and all the cooking essentials. However you don't care about any of that. You only care about your mother, who's standing there, her back facing you as she softly hums to herself while doing the dishes.

You want to call out to her, but your voice gets caught in your throat. You take a few deep breaths, still struggling with words. Jungkook looks over at you. He knows this is something you have to do yourself, so he doesn't speak, he simply gives you the time you need. You're grateful he knows you well enough to know that. You give him an appreciative nod. You take another second, then clear your throat.

"Mom."

She goes still and slowly turns around. Her eyes widen when she sees you and Jungkook standing there. She backs up, reaching for a kitchen knife and holding it up. "W-What are you doing here?" she asks, trembling. This only leaves you confused. Sure, you and her weren't always on the best terms, but not 'draw a knife on each other' terms.

"Mom?" you ask, giving her a soft, questioning stare. She slightly relaxes, but only slightly. Her eyes are on Jungkook. "Mom, he's fine. He has enhancements."

"I know, but why are you here," she replies, which causes you to go still.

"You know?" you whisper. Ganymede has literally no enhanced individuals, or at least none that you know of. How would she know what enhancements look like? You don't remember broadcasting that part. Your father only found out about the enhancements recently, and that's only if he was paying close attention to the message Jungkook sent. More specifically - he was looking at Jungkook's cheeks. That's a long shot. She gulps, then nods. "How?" you ask gently, and that finally makes her lower the knife.

"Your father told me." Guess he was paying attention then.

"Where is he?" you ask as Jungkook takes a step back, eyes widening. You glance at him in concern, but his eyes are focused on your mother.

"I-I don't know, he's probably in his office."

"Well I'll go upstairs and see him then."

"No, not his home's office..." You raise a brow. "He's been appointed as the leader of Ganymede."

Your blood runs cold, your heart momentarily stopping. "What?" you ask so lowly you barely recognize your own voice.

"Not too long ago, he alerted Ganymede to the alien life and they praised him, saying that he's the only one who could save us. They appointed him not long after. He doesn't live with us anymore."

Jungkook's still standing there in shock, a tear even rolling down his cheek. That finally makes you look over at him and pay attention. "What is it Kook?" you whisper.

He shakes his head. "She knows about my enhancements... he does too... that can only mean one thing." You stare for a few moments before peering back at your mom, who gives you an apologetic glance. Then, you finally light up in understanding, putting everything together. Jungkook's shocked look, how your mom knows so soon, why your father told you to stop searching for him. You let out a shaky breath, refusing to believe it as tears well up in your eyes. You peek at Jungkook, who doesn't believe it himself. He nods, opening his mouth to speak. "Your father sold me out... he's the reason why I got sent back to Mars..." he trails off, hesitant to say the next part.

"He's the reason why I have enhancements."

A/N: The next chapter is... insane. It's the longest by far and man it's batshit crazy. It is... very emotional, to say the least. It's honestly pretty crazy. After next chapter there will be a small break from the plot, then after another two chapters of plot stuff it will slow down and focus on the smaller things again. After next chapter I think we could ALL use a break since my Jesus writing and editing it was a b i t c h. It was fun, but reading it over and over to make sure it's perfect is just-

It took a long time. Let's just say that.

Anyway, chapter name reveal:

Chapter 40 - All Good Things...

Good luck...

I'm noticing that all the biggest (plot and emotional-wise) chapters have more than one word as the chapter title. Huh. I didn't even do that on purpose I'm sorry.
