Park Chaeyoung
A/N: This one hurts the most. Probably the most heartbreaking chapter I've ever written. Get those tissues.

You stare with your jaw on the ground as the guards come rushing into the room, grabbing your elbows. "Get the fuck off me!" you shout, squirming in their hold.
"Let her go!" Chaeyoung says. The guards instantly do. "Leave us." They seem perplexed, but at her cold glare, they take the hint and leave the room. As soon as the door shuts, you turn to her and narrow your eyes. You can't look at Jimin right now: only her.
"I figured you'd come eventually," she says, waving the air as if you're a pest. Jimin stays where he is, his hands folded behind his back as he eyes you. Chaeyoung stands, shutting off the holograms littering her desk as she peers at you. "It's an honor to meet you, Y/N L/N. I'm Park Chaeyoung."
"What the hell did you do to him?" you whisper, a tear falling out of your right eye.
"I didn't do anything he didn't agree to."
"Is that your twisted way of saying you threatened him?"
She brushes your concerns aside. "Maybe. I actually felt bad about doing it, then I remembered you and realized I'm justified."
Your hands tremble by your sides. "What did I do? What did I ever do? Fucking... why is it always me?!" you yell, unable to contain your anger.
Chaeyoung frowns. "You don't know?"
"How could I!? You're not exactly being very helpful!"
She grits her teeth, her eyes narrowing in anger. "Do you have any idea what you've done to me? Do you have any idea how much pain I'm constantly in because of you?" she asks, her voice choking over the words. She lets out a shaky breath, opening the top drawer on her desk and pulling out a picture. She turns it towards you, and your breath leaves your body. "From the moment I was born, my life was planned out for me. Did you know that? I doubt you did, no one ever cares. No one ever will, but she did. She cared about me more than anything. Before I became leader of Earth, my own parents traded me to old men in exchange for more political power and standing. Even after I became the leader of Earth, everyone left me. My parents too. All anyone wanted from me was favors, whether it be political or sexual. Nothing ever changed."
She sniffles, shaking her head. "Sleep with a guy for good standings. No real friends. No family... nothing." Chaeyoung breaks off, looking down at the picture. "But she... she was my angel. The only one who looked at me like I wasn't crazy. Like I wasn't a monster. Like I wasn't some ultra powerful being." She traces her fingers down the picture. "She treated me like I was actually human." You stare at the photo, disbelief in your eyes.
Alice.
"She was my sister..." Shit. Did Alice ever mention having a sister on Earth? You can't even remember. Oh no, what did you do? "I know what she did on Ganymede. I know she was out of her damn mind, but fuck, I know she still did it for me."
"What?" you ask, pain in your tone.
"She had to hide her relationship to me so she wouldn't end up just like me. Trapped. Alone. Scared... used." Chaeyoung glares at you. "I couldn't even see her that much out of fear. If anyone spotted me with her, bam. Her life is ruined, like mine. She was the only one who mattered to me."
"What she did on Ganymede is unforgivable. She killed thousands-"
"To save millions. Ganymede was one of the strongest civilizations in the system. With the Belt destroyed and us and Mars weak, Ganymede was planning to take over."
"And maybe they should have," you say. "In case you're forgetting, I had to shoot her. She went for her pistol."
Chaeyoung scoffs. "You were in the middle of an outbreak yet you still had time to go after my sister, and that's the best you have to say? She went for her pistol? Are you not an excellent shot? Could you not shoot her legs as soon as you realized it was her behind the attack?"
You bite your lower lip. Why didn't you think of that? In the moment, everything went so fast. Why didn't you even try to disarm her as soon as you heard what she said about being behind everything? She was becoming your friend. Even if she was a monster, she should have stood trial. That's the right way to do things. You shake your head. No. What you did was justified. It was self defense.
"It was self defense, Chaeyoung. I don't know what you want me to tell you."
Chaeyoung slams her fist on the table. "My only friend, my only family, you took that from me! You murdered her and you have the audacity to stand here and not even feel an ounce of remorse!" She points to Jimin. "Even I felt bad doing this!" Your breath leaves your body for a moment.
"She killed my family," you say.
"As I said, Ganymede was going to go for Earth. She did what she did to save millions of lives on Earth. Like it or not, Ganymede has a much smaller population size than Earth."
"Then why would it be a problem if they came for you, huh?"
"Did you listen to a word I just said? We were weak from the Ring and war with Mars. Not to mention Sturgeon has been listening to Ganymede and you a lot recently. We haven't seen their military strength. What if they combined? Did you ever think of that?"
You don't speak, you only look at Jimin. His eyes are on Chaeyoung, sympathy in his irises. "What did you do to him?" you ask in a whisper, unable to bear the truth.
She shakes her head with disgust in her expression. "And you still don't care. You only care about him. Wow. I expected better from you. Jimin defended you so fiercely when I called you a monster. Looks like I was right."
"Chaeyoung, look at me." Although hesitant, she does. "Alice was becoming my friend, I liked her. I'll say it while looking into your eyes: I genuinely liked her. I thought she was my friend. I didn't want to kill her, I never wanted to kill anyone. She pulled her pistol on me, I had to shoot. And I'm so, so sorry I hurt you, but I can't go back and change what I did. Just like how I can't go back and save my family. Neither of us have any family left. Please, listen to me. We can find family in each other, you don't have to do this. Please. Please don't do this..."
For a moment, Chaeyoung looks conflicted. But her eyes leave yours to instead pull up a hologram. It looks like a lab report. Jimin's face is on it. You rush forward, standing in front of the desk and reading it. Your eyes narrow as you read over each word, but nothing makes sense to you.
"Wha... what? This doesn't make any sense to me."
"A chip," she says.
You whip your head up at her as the hologram turns off. "A what?"
Chaeyoung brings up another hologram. This one is an article. "Chips you put in the brain. The research and development of these machines were banned fifty years ago."
"But you still researched it?"
Chaeyoung keeps her heavy stare on you. "Not me."
Your eyes jump out of their sockets. "Alice," you mutter.
"She had an eye for science. She never wanted to use them like this. The plan was to use them to act like less painful enhancements. To take away pain or certain emotions you don't want to feel. I had my team research an alternative. The one in your dear boyfriend's head is modified."
You take a step back and pant. "Y-You... you put a chip in his head?!"
"I did. This one makes his emotions dull. He only listens to me. Whatever I say, he does." All your emotions come rushing in at once as you gaze at Jimin, who stares back without an ounce of emotion in his eyes.
"Mochi," you whisper. You turn to Chaeyoung. The disbelief and shock fills up inside your heart as you take a few shaky steps back, refusing to believe what you just heard. "You killed Jimin."
"He's right here-"
"That's not him! That's not Jimin!" you shout, throwing a hand over your mouth. "That's not my Jimin," you whisper, nearly falling due to your weak legs. You force yourself to shift towards Jimin. "Jimin. Baby, please. I know you're in there. Please..." Chaeyoung rounds the table, strutting over until she stands right across from you. "What are you doing?" you ask, stepping back a little more.
"Doll, come stand in the middle of us please," Chaeyoung says. Jimin instantly does, sauntering over and standing between you two, his eyes on Chaeyoung. "Y/N, I want you to understand something. You can't bring him out of this with the 'power of love'. This isn't something you reverse."
"You're wrong. I know my Jimin is in there."
She laughs, motioning to Jimin. "What is it you told me about her, sweets?"
"She's determined," he replies without so much as glancing at you.
"I can definitely see that. Poor Y/N. So naïve."
"What are you going to do?" you ask.
Chaeyoung ignores you, speaking to Jimin instead. "Kiss the one you most desire." Your heart beats faster at that. "And please hear us both out," she says before he can move, and he rolls his eyes.
Chaeyoung gives a cute wave, which instantly makes him rush towards her. "Jimin!" you yell. He wouldn't dare. He has to be in there. Jimin turns around, peering at you. The despair is written all over your face as he approaches. "I know you're in there, baby boy. Please, don't let this thing control you." He stares at you, emotionless. "You asked me to move in with you, you told me you loved me first, you called me your Mrs. Park..."
You reach to your back pocket. You took something from his jacket the other day, and you keep it on you at all times. Your hand brings the box forward, your sniffles loud as you open it. His eyes widen. For a moment, his eyes fill with longing. "Is this your family ring?" you ask in a whisper. He takes a second, his breath leaving his body. Jimin nods, making your eyes burn with tears for what feels like the hundredth time in twenty four hours.
"You were going to propose to me?" you ask with a whimper. Again, he nods. You close your eyes for a moment, then close the box. You hold it against your chest. "Then come do it. Please, Jimin. I want to be yours forever." He gets closer, making your heart pound. "Come on, Mochi. Are you really going to let Jungkook win this one?" you ask with a dry chuckle. "You'll get teased for it more than you get teased for your height. Baby, please."
Jimin comes up, his nose inches away from yours. Your breath hits each other's, the proximity making you fluster. "Do you remember our first kiss?" you ask in a whisper. He doesn't reply; his hands hold your waist. "When Namjoon interrupted us?" you continue with a small smile. "You pinned me against the wall and we made out. You couldn't wait any longer. I miss that, Min. I miss you." Your hand goes up to his hair, feeling his soft, blue locks. "Kiss me." His lips come so close. One more thing and you'll feel them. You let out a breath. "I love you." His hands dig into your waist, making you softly gasp. You mentally beg for him, and he opens his mouth to speak.
"I don't love you."
He backs away, leaving you breathless. Within what feels like a second, he crosses the room and goes to Chaeyoung. His lips land on hers. Your legs give out, you landing on your knees as you watch him kiss her. Not you. Her. Anger is an understatement. Furious is an understatement. Hell, even murderous is an understatement. All you see is red. You stumble to your feet, your fingernails digging into your palm.
"I'm gonna fucking kill you," you say.
Jimin's lips leave hers, backing away as Chaeyoung strolls forward. She grins, but there's no joy in her eyes. "If you kill me, he dies too." You freeze at that. "We're connected. If one chip dies, so does the other. My brain turns off?" She makes an explosion motion with her hands. "Jimin's pretty face is gone."
You clench your hands in and out of a fist shape. "You're going to fucking die. I don't care how long it takes. I don't care who I have to kill to get to you. You're going to die a slow, painful death." Your eyes narrow. "I'll kill you with my bare hands for ever touching him."
She laughs. "Cute. Shouldn't you be grateful I didn't just kill you?"
"I don't care what you do to me," you say, your voice low and raspy. "I don't give a single fuck, but him?" You glance at Jimin, who's unaffected. "No one hurts him. No one."
Jimin goes to Chaeyoung's side, holding her shoulders. "Come on, princess. We should get her out of here," he says. Your heart stops. Princess. He's calling her princess. Your heart shatters even more. Even after telling yourself 'it's not him', you still can't help but feel yourself break. Whether he's making these decisions or not, his body and face are still doing them. It may not be him, and you know that and don't blame him, but it's hard as fuck to watch your man kiss another girl. Even when knowing it's not really him.
"You're right. Y/N, you're going to stay with the crew," Chaeyoung says.
"No I'm not."
"Yes, you are. If you don't, I won't hesitate to go after one of your other friends. You tell a person in power about this, I take Jungkook next. Not that they'll believe you anyway."
"He'll never fall for your-"
"When I threaten your life he will. How do you think I got Jimin?" Jimin stares at Chae with a small smile, making you sick.
"Don't hurt anyone else. Please," you whisper.
"Seeing you suffer was my goal. And now I've got it. I've taken my revenge." She pauses to laugh. "I finally got my revenge." You watch as she peers up at the ceiling. "Alice, I avenged you. Now your murderer is suffering as much as you and I are."
"You know what? That little bitch deserved it. I feel bad about it, but what I did was still justified. She murdered thousands, including my family. You say it's for the greater good, but you're so hypocritical! My family died, the only sister that ever loved me died! You think I don't feel the pain of that every day? I didn't get to say goodbye either. She stood up for me at my father's funeral, and I didn't even get to thank her for that! Now I get to live the rest of my life in regret knowing I didn't even go and thank her." For a moment, Chaeyoung softens, but it fades as quickly as it came. "Your sister took that from me. But I still didn't do what I did to 'get revenge'. I did it to save Ganymede!"
"And what she did saved Earth!" Chaeyoung shouts.
"You don't know that!" you reply, but Chaeyoung brushes you off.
"You're a fighter, Y/N. I'll give you that. I certainly love a challenge." She pauses for a moment. "Here's what you're going to do. You're going to stay in the crew and not tell any higher power about this. Again, not like they'll listen to you, but still. If you break either of these rules, I'll kill myself, and as a result, Jimin's no more."
"You'd kill yourself just to keep me in place?"
Chaeyoung leans against her desk. "You think I like living? I haven't lived a day in my life where I've been happy for all twenty four hours. The only times I was ever happy was around her."
You want to feel bad, but you can't. You just can't. "Will you ever let him go?"
"He's mine now, Y/N. I must admit, I see why you love him. He's very bold. Good kisser too." You grit your teeth, the red in your vision coming back.
"How dare you touch him..."
"You understand our terms? In exchange for doing what I say, Jimin lives." You don't have the strength to reply. "Good. We understand each other." She presses a button on her desk. "Guards, please escort Miss. L/N out of my office."
Within a few seconds the doors open, making you jump. "Jimin! Jimin please! I'll come back for you I promise!" you yell as the guards grab you. You squirm, your eyes meeting Chaeyoung's as you're dragged away. "I'll fucking kill you!" you scream, kicking and thrashing as hard as you can. "I'll... fucking kill you!" you repeat as you exit the office. "Jimin! I love you! Please don't give up on me!"
Before you even know it, you're being thrown outside. You land on the sidewalk, sniffling and crying as the guards stroll back inside, unaffected by your screams. "No, no!" you yell, punching the sidewalk. The pain that shoots up your arm doesn't even matter to you. People pass by, some give you worried and sympathetic looks while others just ignore you. Not like you care anyway. Your mind is focusing on one thing: Jimin.
Your man, your everything. The man who's supposed to be your boyfriend. The man who was supposed to propose to you and be your husband. You groan, bringing your knees to your chest as you rock back and forth in the corner of the sidewalk. Where do you even go right now? Is there anywhere to go? Whether it be mentally or physically? You close your eyes, trying to think about how to fix this.
For several minutes, you sit there in your own heartbreak. There's some voices that call out to you, but you ignore them, so they eventually fade away. All you want is to be alone right now. The only good news here is that Jimin wasn't the one doing and saying those things to you. He didn't stop loving you, it was someone else. The thought almost makes you throw up. Great, right back to sobbing.
"Y/N? Y/N is that you?" You glance up, recognizing the voice. Your eyes find Jin, who drops the bags he's holding and rushes up to you. He sits with you, bringing you into a hug. "Shh, shh. What happened dear?" he asks, making you whimper.
"She took him. She took him from me."
"What?" he asks. After a few more seconds of your soft cries, you pull away from his chest to look at him.
"Chaeyoung, she did something to Jimin." Jin silently listens, shock in his eyes. "She put a chip inside him. She's controlling him. She took him and he's not himself. He says he doesn't love me anymore, and she's threatening to kill him if I don't do what she says, and... fuck!" Jin pulls you back in, rubbing your back comfortingly. "Alice was her sister," you mutter. He goes still for a few moments, then he starts rubbing you again. "She said she'd kill him if we went to anyone else about this. If I leave the crew, she'll kill him. And I'm sure that's just the surface. She'll get us to do whatever she wants based on that threat."
"I'm so sorry, Y/N."
You cry, clinging onto his shirt for dear life. "Why me?" you ask in a whine. "Why is it always me?"
~10:31~
You pull back the rug, grabbing the spare key and entering your old home. You know Jimin is still with Chaeyoung, so that makes things easier. As soon as the door closes behind you, you wince. This house has certainly looked better. It looks dull. Lifeless. Part of you feels bad knowing Jimin lives here alone, but you can't live with him anymore. It's not his fault, but that doesn't mean you want to be around him anymore.
Your emotions are a mess to say the least. Are you sad? Angry? Heartbroken? How are you supposed to know? On one hand, you're pissed at Jimin, but on the other, you have to keep telling yourself it's not him. Your man is still in there, just not out right now. The tears that fell down your face earlier have all dried up by now. You're trying not to cry anymore, but there's no promises there. So, you step forward and do what you came here to do.
The promise ring and locket you threw last night are gone, which makes you confused, but you don't question it. Instead, you bring the black box out of your pocket. Giving it back is the last step to letting him go. You can start to heal and focus on saving the real him. With a shaky hand, you place the box on the counter, holding back your tears. This is insane. You're placing your ring on the counter. This is supposed to be yours. Jimin was going to propose to you. Your eyes widen as it hits you.
Jimin was going to propose to you.
You throw a hand over your mouth, refusing to cry. No, this can't be happening. Jimin was going to propose. He was going to make you his until the end of your days. You were so happy, so in love, then she came along and destroyed that. Are you mad at her? Beyond mad. You weren't kidding: you're going to kill her with your bare hands. But you also understand. Of course that doesn't make it right, but you understand what she's doing is because she's blinded by the pain. God knows you've been doing and saying bad things because you've been blinded by the pain of losing Jimin.
At the end of the day, you killed Alice. You killed someone close to Chaeyoung. Do you feel bad? Hell no, but that doesn't mean you don't understand why she's doing it. She was never taught the proper ways to go about grief. A young person, brought up with no love, in the highest position on Earth (maybe even in the system) dealing with grief? She can do just about anything she wants. She's right: if you say something to anyone (who would you even tell?), she can easily wiggle her way out of it. She knows how to hack the systems, make it seem like everything's fine. You're so lost. How are you going to get your Jimin back?
The best answer is not to appeal to him, but to appeal to her. If you can show her how love feels again, maybe she'll realize her terrible mistake and back off once and for all. You understand the pain she's in, but that doesn't mean you can sit by and watch her make Jimin suffer. There has to be a way. You're not losing the love of your life. He's the only thing that keeps you going during the day. You can't lose your sanity.
The door opens, making you jump and panic. No no no, he's not supposed to be home. You whip around, eyes widening as soon as Jimin steps inside. His eyes meet yours, and he's shocked to say the least. "How did you get in?" he asks. You wave the spare key around before placing it on the counter next to the box.
"Just came to return it," you say. "I'll leave and I'll stay out of your life."
"Okay." You awkwardly stand there for a few moments. Earlier you were in an emotional high. Now you're a little more calm. Maybe now you can appeal to him. You doubt it will work, but it's worth a try, right? "Alright, if that's all you came to do, you can go now," he says. Jimin starts to walk by, but you clear your throat. He groans, then turns to face you. Your eyes meet his cold ones, making you shiver.
"I'm not giving up on you." As always, he blinks without replying. "I know you're not him. But looking into your eyes? I know he's in there somewhere. Min, I know you're there deep down. Keep fighting, okay? I'm going to get you out of this. I'm never going to give up on you. I love you so, so much. I know none of this is your fault, please don't blame yourself." You glance back at the box for a few seconds, then you meet his eyes again. "And when this is all over, make me your Mrs. Park."
Jimin staggers back, breathing heavily for a few moments. Your heart swells with hope. "I know the guy I love is in there." He stares up in shock, holding his head. "The same one who taught me how to swim, the same one who promised to never stop loving me, the same one who cried in my arms when Namjoon died." You really don't want to bring up Namjoon, but you know that if you're going to bring Jimin back, you have to. He lets out a small breath, then meets your eyes. "Do you remember all that?" you ask in a whisper.
Jimin steps closer, making your heart beat faster. He nods. "You know what else I remember?"
A smile blesses your lips. "What?"
He returns the smile. For the first time in what feels like ages, there's warmth in his eyes. "The night we met Jin, we stayed in my room since you gave up yours for him. We cuddled that night, before we were even together. We talked a little bit, and you asked about my dancing. Of course, being the cheeky bastard I am, I teased you and asked if you liked what you saw."
"I did," you reply in a mutter.
"Then I asked if you wanted to see more." So much for not having tears, they're starting to fill your eyes again. "I took off my shirt, and I was so fucking nervous. I remember thinking that I was going too far, that I was going to do something I regret. I thought you didn't feel the same way as I did. I still remember the way my heart beat in my ears, the way I tried to hide my blush from you..." He trails off for a moment, letting out another breath. "We agreed to cherish every moment from there on out, because we never know when it could be our last." You frown, remembering that conversation very clearly now.
He steps closer, entering your personal space. "You said goodnight to me, do you remember how I replied?" Your eyes widen as you nod. "Goodnight angel," he whispers, bringing one hand to your face. "It was the first time I ever called you my angel."
"I loved it," you reply.
He chuckles, his breath hitting your lips. "I know. I know you did. You always got so flustered whenever I called you angel or princess." Your heart beats faster as you look at his lips, then his eyes. They're closed, his face moving closer. "I remember everything, Y/N." Your breath gets caught in your throat as you feel his smirk. "But I still don't love you."
Your heart shatters for what feels like the millionth time as he backs away. He sees your reaction and keeps his smirk, grabbing the box and the spare key from off the counter. "Whatever 'Jimin' you're talking to isn't there. This is me. The faster you accept it, the faster you'll move on. Get over me, Y/N. I don't love you. I'll never love you. I love Chaeyoung. You lost, get over it," he says.
Instead of crying, you take a deep breath and peer over at him. "I love you," you whisper.
He shakes his head in disbelief. "Jesus, you're even more determined than I thought. Get this through your thick skull: I. Don't. Love. You!" You flinch at his voice, not expecting him to raise it. Your breathing increases as your heart pounds against your chest. Oh God no, not now. Not now of all times. You place your hand over your heart, trying to calm yourself. Now's not the time for flashbacks and a panic attack, but his harsh words and loud tone are giving you memories of your father you don't want to see.
If your Jimin was here, he'd sit you down and cup your face with his baby hands. He'd shush you and tell you that everything's okay. 'Angel, hey. Angel, look at me'. You replay his words in your mind as fake Jimin just watches you struggle. 'Follow my lead.'. You picture him breathing in and out slowly. So, you repeat that. The breaths come, and your heart starts to slow down. The fake Jimin watched the whole time and didn't even care.
"I know," you whisper, finally gaining the strength to look at him, "I know you don't. But he does."
Jimin scoffs. "Whatever. I don't want to see you back here again. The only reason why I didn't kick you out right away was because Chae told me not to," he says.
"Fuck you."
"You wish."
"Wow."
"Wow what?" he asks, grunting.
"I think I'll start calling you Jim from now on."
"Huh?"
"Well you're not Jimin, so I need a new name for you. I refuse to call you by my boyfriend's name."
"I'm not your boyfriend," Jimin says, poking his tongue against his cheek.
"No shit. Jimin's my boyfriend. You're not."
"Jesus Christ," he says, placing a hand on his forehead. "Just get out already!"
Despite your mind telling you to scream at him, you nod. "Trust me, I'd love to," you reply with an eye roll. You search the ground. "Where's the promise ring and the locket?"
"Maybe Baby ate them. I don't know, nor do I care."
You shrug. "Whatever, just curious. Baby's with me now."
"You took her too?" he asks.
"Did you seriously not notice? Wow, I'm glad I took her then."
"You took my daughter?"
"Um no, she's mine now," you say.
You turn around, going up to the door and preparing to open it. Before you even know what's happening, he spins you around and slams you against the door. You jump, meeting his glaring eyes. "Give me back my daughter," he whispers.
You hold your ground. "Fuck you."
His grip on your shoulders tighten. "Give her to me."
"Shut up, Jim. I'm not giving her to you."
"Don't call me that!"
You grab the door knob, preparing to open it as soon as he lets go. "Can't you give me some personal space here? Jesus. Discuss this like an adult!"
At your words he does. Jimin backs off, running a hand through his hair. He starts pacing, his back slightly turning from you. "I want her back," he says. Without even replying you throw open the door and run outside. "Y/N!" he yells after you. You refuse to turn around; you run for your life and turn on your comm. You change the frequency as fast as you can.
"Seul! Seulgi, please pick up!"
After a few seconds, she does. "Y/N? What's wrong?"
"I need help! I need it now!"
Jimin runs after you, making you gasp and run faster. "Get back here Y/N!" he yells.
"Where are you? I'm on my way please, stay safe."
"I'm at Jimin's house! Please hurry!" You turn off the comm without giving her a chance to reply. You know you can't outrun Jimin, but you can at least stall. You rush around his Porsche, standing in front of the driver's side and stopping your movements.
He slows to a stop on the passenger's side. You're panting, staring at him while attempting to catch your breath. "You have some nerve taking Baby," he says.
"Not like you paid attention to her anyway. You gave her less attention than you gave me."
"I want her back."
"No."
"Are you staying at the mansion? I'll take her back by force if I have to."
"No you won't," you reply. For several seconds, the two of you glare at each other. It feels like an eternity passes. Seulgi is at most five minutes away, you just have to stall a little bit longer. So, you sigh. "Okay, I'll admit I'm being a little harsh. Can we talk about this?"
"I'm listening," he replies.
You wait a good ten seconds before letting out a huff of air. "I just, fuck, give me a minute, please. I'm still out of breath." Jimin scoffs but doesn't reply. For a full minute, you stand there with your hands pressed against the front of his car. "I..." You break off, unsure of what to say.
"Use your words, it's seriously not that hard."
You bite back your grunt. "Why do you want her?" you bring yourself to ask.
"She's my daughter."
"Would you actually pay attention to her?"
"Of course I would."
You eye him, resisting the urge to yell. "What makes you think you'll be better than me?"
"Oh please, I was always better than you. You were right, you know."
"R-Right?" you ask in a stutter, keeping your eyes on the car.
"Yeah. You were an idiot for thinking you were good enough for me. You're not." You hold your breath. It's not him. "You were truly an idiot for thinking I would propose to someone like you. Look at me, and then look at you. I have it all, don't I? Good looks, a sense of humor, the perfect body, money, and power. You have none of that. And how could you hurt Chae? You're a monster."
You stand there and take it. He doesn't deserve to see your weak side again. You peek up at him and smile. "You know what?" Jimin raises a brow. "I'm glad she's dead. She fucking deserved it."
Jimin's eyes darken, forming a glare. "How dare you..."
You laugh. "You disgust me, you know that? Taking her side. So stupid. I know it's just the chip, but still. That poor chip has no idea what's coming."
"Chip? Seriously? Blaming it on a 'chip'?" he asks. Come on Seulgi, please be speeding. It's been a good three minutes now. All you need is to stall a little bit longer.
"I'm not giving you Baby," you say.
His hands ball into fists. "Why the fuck not?" he asks.
"Because she's my daughter too, and I doubt you'd want to share."
He scoffs. "No, I wouldn't. You don't deserve her."
"And you don't deserve me," you reply.
"What?"
"I've given you so many chances, tet here we are."
He pauses for a moment. "Here we are." The two of you stay silent. Please Seulgi, get here. Speed down the road, come on. You and him stare, the seconds ticking by not occurring to you until you hear the sound of a car's engine revving. "Who is that?" Jimin asks. You let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank God," you say, turning around and running towards the sound.
"Y/N! Get back here, this isn't over!"
"I thought you wanted me gone!" you yell back, watching as Seulgi's car pulls up. Well, technically it's Hoseok's, but that doesn't matter.
Jimin chases after you, but you jump in the passenger's seat and lock the door. Jimin grabs the handle, pulling on it. "Open this door right now!" he shouts, trying as hard as he can.
"Drive," you say. Seulgi whips her head around.
"What? Babes, that could hurt hi-"
"Drive," you repeat, your voice emotionless. Seulgi hesitates, then, she presses on the gas. Jimin keeps his grip for a few seconds, but as the car gains speed, he realizes you're not stopping and lets go. You watch in the mirror as his figure gets smaller, making you whimper. "Can I stay with you tonight?" you ask, and Seulgi nods.
"There better be one helluva explanation-"
"Chaeyoung," you interrupt, shaking your head. "She's controlling him with a chip in his brain."
Seulgi slams on the breaks, looking over at you with the widest eyes you've ever seen. "Are you serious?"
"I saw the report, Seul. I'm serious."
Her eyes well with tears. "No," she whispers. You can't help but tear up with her as the realization hits you.
He's gone. Park Jimin is gone.

A/N: Gotta ask: Who's worse, Chaeyoung or Y/N's father?
I think it depends on which character you like more, Jimin or Jungkook. If you like Jungkook more then you'll probably hate Y/N's father for indirectly putting him on his deathbed. If you like Jimin more then you'll hate Chaeyoung for, well, what just happened.
