PART 3 FINALE: 1/2

~14:35~

Jimin slumps on the ground, staring in shock. No... this can't be happening. "The Moon," Jimin mutters, his eyes burning with tears. He's covered in dirt and dried blood, his ears are ringing, his hands shaking... but that's the least of his concerns. He only cares about his ship. His beautiful ship. "No..." he whispers, unsure of how to react. Y/N crawls over to him, holding her stomach. Despite how badly he wants to mourn his ship, he turns to her.

"Baby," he says, reaching for her. "Are you okay?" he asks, bringing her closer. His hands grab her body, inspecting her.

"I'm okay, just lost all my air for a second. Are you?"

"My head hurts, but I'll live."

She sits down next to him, pressing her shoulder against his. "The Moon..." she mutters, looking up at the wreckage. The entire hangar is under attack, Martian ships destroying it. "We're losing, aren't we?" Y/N asks.

Jimin gulps, then nods. "Yeah babe... yeah, we are." He kisses the side of her head, sniffling. "If anything happens... anything... I need you to know how much I love you."

She shakily nods, looking up at him with those beautiful eyes now filled with tears. "I love you, Jimin. We have to make it through this, okay?" She holds up her ring, their hands meeting near his lips, "I'm marrying you no matter what, you hear me?" He gives her the best smile he can muster, tears slowly rolling down his face. His ship...

He kisses the ring, then her hand, using his hands to grab her and pull her into a hug. The entire crew has the same reaction as Jimin. Stunned and depressed. They're all sitting there, staring at the space the Moon just was. Everyone's crying, not just Jimin. Y/N accepts his hug, wrapping her arms around his back while one of his hands buries itself in her hair, gently massaging her scalp.

"We don't have much time," he whispers.

"I know, but she deserves a moment of silence. She was a good ship," Y/N whispers back.

He nods, "I'm sorry you didn't get to fly her more."

She sniffles, "I miss her already." He can't help but agree, falling into a moment of silence for the ship that carried them around the solar system. The ship that started it all.

Baekhyun found her back when they needed help the most. After that it's been history. To Jimin, she's more than a home. She was his first assignment, the first step in making him who he is today. Naming her. It seems like such a simple thing, but it was the building blocks of Jimin's change. He was so shy, so nervous back then. But doing just that little thing really helped. Gosh he misses Namjoon.

The Moonchild... she went through their entire war with Ganymede and the Belt, the whole Ring drama, Earth: there was so much. She's been a part of their lives for almost a year. Losing all of that in a few seconds. "Why her... why the Moon?" Seulgi asks desperately, hysterically crying. Hoseok is trying his best to comfort her, but it's not helping very much. Poor girl must be drained. He can't blame her. Jimin simply sighs and looks down the hill. There's a small clearing, they need to get there and discuss their plan.

It looks like there's another hill not too far away from them, maybe that way can lead somewhere. Or at least, maybe it can at least lead them away from the pain. "Is everyone okay?" Jimin asks, turning to face everyone. They sadly nod, crying. He sighs. Jimin can hear the beeping of the Martians getting closer on Tae's scanner, but does he want to move yet? No, no he really doesn't. Y/N stays next to him, gently holding his hand.

Once again, he kisses the side of her head. "I'm so sorry," he mutters.

She shakes her head. "This wasn't just my loss. It's a loss for all of us." She closes her eyes, letting her tears slowly fall. Jimin hates looking at the sight but knows there's nothing he can do. So, he simply sighs and pulls her closer, rubbing her back with his free hand. They'll move in a few minutes... for now, they'll mourn.

~14:43~

"We have to go this way," Seulgi says, pointing to the hill not too far away.

"What if they're waiting for us? We have to go the other way!" Jungkook replies.

"Or maybe we should just keep going straight and risk it," Hoseok suggests. Jimin sighs, watching as his crew argues.

"Jesus we don't have time for this just choose one!" Seulgi shouts, then, she turns to Jimin. "Captain, a little help here?"

Jimin walks forward, looking at Jungkook's map. "Well, we have Martians circling in on us from every direction. The way I see it, we're screwed."

"Oh fuck this, you're not helping!" Seulgi says, backing away from them.

"Seul, where are you going?" Jimin asks.

She simply lets out a huff. "Well no one else is gonna do anything, so I am. Come on girls." She motions to Anya, Sapphire, and Y/N, who sigh and give in.

Y/N shoots Jimin a sympathetic look. "I can't let her go alone," she mutters, and he hesitantly nods.

"We really shouldn't split up Seul," Jimin says.

"It's the best shot we have at getting past them. There's no way we win a fight head on, so stealth is our only option. Go the way Jungkook suggested, I'm going for the other hill." Jimin knows there's no time for arguing, so he simply sighs and watches as they go, his fiancée among them.

"Great, my girlfriend just took three members of our crew," Hoseok says with a grunt.

"I should go with them," Baekhyun mumbles.

"What? Why?"

"Make it more even. There's twelve of us total and there's only four total in her group."

"I'll go too," Jace offers. Baekhyun and Jace share a look, then turn to the others.

"It's the best chance we have. That way we're six and six," Baekhyun explains.

"Fine, go. Please stay safe and keep in contact," Jimin says, not really liking the plan but knowing it's the best one. Stealth, it always comes down to stealth. Why? Eh, who knows, who cares? What matters right now is staying on track. "Alright, let's get moving," Jimin mumbles, watching as Jace and Baekhyun hurry to catch up with the girls. Jimin hates the idea of being separated from Y/N, but he knows there's not much choice here. As long as she keeps her comm on her and contacts him if something goes wrong, everything will go smoothly. Right?

"Come on, this way," Jimin says, leading the rest of the crew in the opposite direction. Looks like he's left with Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Taehyung, and Jungkook. Six boys including Jimin. Wow. Jimin shakes his head, leading them down the abandoned streets.

"Is Clementine here?" Jin asks.

"She has to be. She's looking for Y/N and me. If someone kills me, Earth doesn't have a Commander. In a big war like this, they need a Commander leading them," Jimin looks down, kicking at the rocks. "Not that it matters much since we don't have the Moon."

There's a moment of silence, mourning the lost ship. They keep moving, no one speaking. Jungkook has his motion tracker up, looking for any Martians. It looks like a majority went for NYC, but that doesn't mean there's not a lot here. The whole reason why they split up is because they're being circled by Martians, so yeah, this isn't good, it isn't good at all. Jimin frowns to himself, thinking about the Martian situation.

Part of Jimin wants to try and use his cloaked suit, but not only is he with others and he doesn't want to leave them behind, he has no helmet. That thing got tossed around like he tosses Y/N around at night. It's safe to say it's at the very least cracked. Landing on Earth broke all their helmets. He'd literally be a floating head. Jimin mentally snickers at that. That's... actually pretty funny now that he's picturing it. Looks like Y/N, Jimin, and Jungkook can't use their stealth suits though. Would've been very useful, but Y/N's isn't even working with or without the helmet. It's probably best to stop trusting the technology, it got her screwed when there were less Martians around. Jimin doesn't even want to risk it.

"What are the odds of winning?" Jin asks.

"Slim to none," Jimin grumbles back, kicking at the dirt.

"Min, you're not helping," Jungkook points out.

"Sorry I'm being honest."

"Can we stay a little positive please? We haven't even seen how many got here yet," Tae tries, but Jimin shakes him off.

"We lost our ship, we don't know how many are here, and we don't know how the battle is going up there." Jimin points to the sky. "My apologies if I'm not feeling very positive at the moment."

"Come on Jimin, we can do this," Tae says.

"I know we can, but please give me a couple more minutes of being grumpy. Is that allowed?" The crew goes quiet. "Thank you," he sarcastically says.

"Hey come on, calm down, don't talk to Tae like that," Jungkook says.

"Listen, with all due respect, I go to God damn Mars, torture and kill two people because my fiancée got taken and fucking beaten, assassinate a leader of Mars, then come back just to find out that my ship got destroyed and my home is close to being in the same condition." Jimin stops walking, turning to face them with a fake smile. "So I'm sorry I'm a little upset, but I have a bit on my plate right now."

Jungkook blinks at him. "You... tortured people?"

"Not by choice. I had no idea where she was. She wasn't in the north side and that palace was huge, you saw it yourself."

"I'm not mad at you, I'm just surprised."

"I highly doubt I'll ever be able to sleep again," Jimin mumbles, starting his walking again.

Seconds tick by, and in the awkward silence, a new voice arises to clear the air. "So... see any good TV shows recently?" Yoongi asks Hoseok, trying to change the topic. Hoseok simply shrugs and looks down.

"Ah shit, now the sunshine's sad," Jin comments, shaking his head.

"Well I agree with Jimin," Hoseok suddenly says, "we're in way over our heads. Last time we were in a situation like this, Namjoon died. My girlfriend is away from me, I won't know what happens until after this is all over. I'm not exactly peachy either."

"All our girlfriends are gone," Jin mutters.

"Ugh, I'm done," Hoseok says, turning and going in the opposite direction.

"Woah Hobi, where are you going?!" Jimin calls, staring in shock.

"I need to find Seul, this is so fucked up!" he calls back, not bothering to turn around.

Yoongi sighs, looking at Jimin. "You know I can't let him go alone." Jimin sadly nods, letting Yoongi rush after him.

"You know what? Screw all of you. We can do this we just need to-"

"Shut up Tae," Jin interrupts, "I don't think any of us are in the mood."

Tae scoffs. "What's your problem?"

"My problem is that we're completely surrounded with no ship! You know what? I'm out. I'm not doing this anymore." Jin turns on his heel and walks away. Jimin just stands there, blinking. Is this seriously happening right now? Jimin rubs his temple with his fingers, watching as Jin goes.

"Jin! Jin wait! Please come back!" Tae yells, running after him.

"Great, now he's gone too," Jimin mumbles, kicking the gravel. Jungkook looks at Jimin hesitantly. "Go," Jimin commands.

"I can't leave you all alone-"

"Just go," Jimin softly interrupts, not in the mood to argue. "That's an order," he adds for good measure. Jungkook still hesitates, then realizes Jimin isn't going to change his mind, so he turns and follows Tae after Jin. So Yoongi and Hoseok are going back to their girlfriends, and the other three are going God knows where. Great. Wonderful. Fan-fucking-tastic.

Jimin curses to himself as he starts walking again, checking his AR. He gets to deal with the Martians alone. Wonderful. So much for teamwork. Granted, he did kind of start it, but he thinks he was justified. He's not exactly in his right mind. He can't stop hearing the screams of the two people he tortured, his home is gone, and his fiancée is out there, away from him. He shouldn't have let them go.

Jimin's breath leaves his body. He's a horrible Captain. He let all this happen. Half his crew is gone, the other half just left him because he can't keep his complaints to himself. Tears sting at his eyes again, but he angrily blinks them back, continuing his journey. The good news is that him sneaking by alone is much more likely to succeed than him sneaking by with five other boys to lead.

Hoseok, Taehyung, Jungkook, Yoongi, and Seulgi have the trackers. They're the intelligence officers and agents. Guess what Jimin is? The Captain/engineer. Guess who doesn't have a tracker? Park Ji-fucking-min. Guess who's walking in blindly to the next section of the road? That's fucking right, Commander Park Jimin!

He grits his teeth as he turns the corner, instantly jumping back once he notices the Martians not too far away. "We saw you! Come out with your hands up!" a male voice says in a boom, probably over a speaker. Well, fuck. Where are his teammates when he needs them? He gulps, turning around, hoping that they'll be right next to him, or at least walking back. They aren't. They're gone.

Jimin's alone.

With a sigh, he straps his AR around his body and steps out, holding his hands out as they said to. A spotlight shines on him, the road filled with Martians. There's a tank in the middle, three Martians propped on the outside of it. It looks like it's broken or something, that's why they're sitting on the outside rather than the inside. Well, at least Jimin doesn't have to deal with an operational tank. But he does have to deal with a whole bunch of pissed off Martians.

"Commander Park, what an honor," a female voice says. He can barely see due to the spotlight, but they quickly take it off of him, replacing the massive thing with their flashlights instead. "I figured there were only so many ways you could go after the destruction of your precious Moonchild," she says, walking forward.

"Who are you?" he asks, keeping his hands up.

"Someone who wants you and your dear fiancée dead."

Jimin lets out a breath. "Clementine?"

She takes off her helmet, tossing it to the side. She's about twenty feet away, but even from this distance he can see her smug smile. "That would be me. You know, I was going to go set up with the roadblock by the hill, but a certain someone commed me and told me that your group split up... and you were heading this way."

He furrows his brows together. "Huh?"

Clementine doesn't reply, she simply grabs her AR. "Let this be an example to all of Earth. I'm going to drag you to New York City and execute you on a live broadcast... to the entire solar system."

He shivers at the prospect, resisting the temptation to rub his arms from the chills that form there. "No, you'll lose the support of your people. One of your own kind has said we're an inspiration to the Martians."

"Oh, you must mean the Einhorn boy. Jace." She waves Jimin off. "I said before that I got told to come here instead of the other exit waiting for your dear friends. Who do you think told me to stay?"

Jimin's eyes widen. "He's a traitor..." he mutters.

"He was never a traitor to Mars, only a spy. You think it's coincidence that the one person on Mars who ahem... 'adores' your people was set up to keep your friends tied down? We knew that the enhanced boy, Taehyung, would have come for them. We needed someone on the inside." She pauses. "I'll be honest, Commander Park. Killing you is hard. We had to make a rather stealthy plan instead. It was a risky play, but now it's paid off. He'll kill all your friends when they least expect it, and now I have you." Jimin instantly lights up with terror. Y/N is with Jace. Seulgi is with him. Baekhyun is with him. Sapphire. Anya. No, this can't be happening.

In a rash move, Jimin goes to activate his comm, but a gunshot goes off. He screams in pain, almost falling to the ground as the bullet rips through his comm, piercing his armor and ripping through his forearm, right on his wrist. "Fuck!" he shouts, softly crying out of pain. Fuck! Fuck that hurt like hell! Jimin may have made comas his bitch, but this gunshot actually feels like someone is taking a knife and twisting it into his wrist over and over again. He holds his wrist against his chest, knowing he needs medical attention soon or he dies. Well, if he's going to die anyway...

He holds his useless wrist against his chest, using his other hand to grab his AR and swing it forward. Every Martian soldier goes on high alert at his movement. "Fighting back is futile. We'll shoot your leg before you even pull the trigger," Clementine says.

Jimin shakes his head. "I'm going to die anyway, right? Might as well go down fighting."

"Mars has won, stop trying."

"No, you haven't."

She clenches her jaw. "And why's that?"

He takes a moment, then motions to himself, "I'm still here, in front of you, and as long as even one person stands against you, you haven't won."

"You would take us all on... by yourself?"

His grip on his AR tightens. "Without hesitation."

She gives him a genuine smile, "I must say I commend your courage. You were always one of the most determined fighters on the planet. But you're alone." Jimin lets out a breath. Fuck. Yeah, she's right.

"No... he's not."

Jimin goes still, slowly turning around. Jungkook stands there, holding an AR in front of him as he walks forward, joining Jimin's side. Jimin and him lock eyes, his Executive giving him a nod. "Kook, you don't have to do this."

He gives Jimin a small smile. "Yeah... yeah I do, Min. You think your fiancée would forgive me if I let your dumbass face all these Martians by yourself?" Jimin gains the courage to smile, tearing up from both the pain in his arm and Jungkook's words.

"Two people? You think two people can take on a whole army?" Clementine asks with a laugh.

"Three." Tae walks up, standing in between Jimin and Jungkook.

"Tae..." Jimin mutters, eyes wide in shock. Before Jimin can keep talking, he gets interrupted.

"Four." Jin goes next to the other side, leaving some space between him and Jimin, staring down the Martians with determination in his eyes.

"Guys," Jimin whispers, choking up.

"Four brave soldiers," Clementine says with a laugh. "You still think-"

"Five."

Jimin jumps, turning to see Yoongi standing next to Jin, giving Jimin a solid nod that he's quick to return.

"Six," Hoseok's voice says, filling the air, the man going next to Yoongi and Jimin. All six of them stand there, facing down the Martians with no fear in their eyes. Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook from left to right. The pain in Jimin's arm is an afterthought as time goes still. For some reason, the air around him feels almost... different. Jimin's eyes slowly wander around the area as everything falls into the background. The space at the end, right next to Jin...

Namjoon stands there.

The silhouette of Namjoon stares down the Martians, then, he turns to look at Jimin. They lock eyes, Jimin saying all he needs to with just his expression. Namjoon gives him a solid nod, mouthing, 'seven'. Jimin cries, nodding back. "Seven," he mutters. The entire crew turns to see what Jimin is looking at, everyone going still.

"You... you guys can see him too, right?" Jungkook asks, earning a nod from the rest.

"What the hell?" Clementine asks, "see what?"

Jimin softly laughs, shaking his head as he turns to Clementine. He gives her a confident smile. "Seven. There's seven of us."

"I didn't know your math was this weak."

Jimin stays back on the balls of his feet. "We're not leaving out Joon. We never will."

Clementine grits her teeth together, her hands balling themselves into fists by her side. "He can't help you anymore."

"Yes... yes, he can," Jimin softly says, turning to look at Joon.

Once again, time goes still as they stare at each other. Jimin smiles as brightly as he can, clicking off the safety to his AR. His crew does the same, Namjoon holding up his fists, getting in a ready stance. Namjoon and Jimin stare for another few seconds before turning back to face the Martians. "There's six of you. Six and six only," Clementine says, but Jimin shakes his head.

"No, there's seven. We won't leave anyone out. There will always be seven. No more, no less."

"Why?" she asks, looking at him like he has twelve heads.

"Because..."

He trails off for a moment, the words dancing around the tip of his tongue. Jimin gazes at his crewmates, who give him an encouraging nod followed by smiles that make his heart come alive again. And then, he speaks.

"Seven minus one equals zero."

~14:53~

You sigh to yourself, trudging next to Jace as your group goes up the hill. "Think we'll run into any Martians?" Anya asks, looking at Jace for an answer.

"I assume you mean other than me?" he teases, causing the girl to softly smile. At least someone has a sense of humor in these terrible times.

"Yeah, other than you."

He shrugs. "I'm sure we will. Whether it be in five minutes or an hour, who knows, but we'll need to sneak past them and get out of the city. It's the only way to be safe."

Getting out of the city, what a wonderful idea. You haven't seen any soldiers on either side yet, and to say you're worried is an understatement. The entire main hangar got destroyed, and your comm to Mr. Blaine isn't working. He isn't answering. Either something happened to him or he has too many people on the line right now. The best option is getting out and regrouping at one of the barracks on the outskirts of the city. Meet up with some soldiers, get some orders. Or maybe just run away completely. That's an option too. Without a ship that's difficult, but it's an option.

Baekhyun hums to himself, glancing around at the sights. "Well, even with half the buildings still looking torn from the last attack, Binghamton is beautiful," he says. You can't help but smile, nodding in agreement.

"Despite the sky being covered with the dirty Martians." You pause, nudging Jace. "No offense."

"None taken."

"The sky is really nice today."

"You think the sky is nice every day," Sapphire says.

"Doesn't make it any less true," you cheekily reply.

Seulgi isn't in a very good mood, so she doesn't join in on the joking around. Everyone's just trying to ease the tension. This battle could use a little but of positivity, especially since it's already going so, so well, right? You let out a huff of air, letting your shoes drift through the grass. You lost your ship. That's like losing a child. Not as intense, of course, but it feels like you lost a massive part of you. Okay, maybe not like losing a kid. More like losing your home. Like your childhood home.

Ah, Ganymede. Your mind wanders back to the day you found your home destroyed, your family gone with it. All at once, the sky seems gloomier than usual as you think, the memory plaguing your mind. You've tried to push that memory out. It's not something you want to dwell on. Your entire past life is not something you want to dwell on. There's very few moments from your childhood that are actually worth remembering, and each one comes from your siblings, not your parents.

Despite two out of your three sisters not really paying attention too much, you had some fun nights. Going for food at two in the morning as teens (a mission that you always led), eating donuts on the streets while people-watching, taking pictures near the ends of the dome; all the dumb, spontaneous activities your sisters and you would do. Your brothers were a different story. They were more stoic. They didn't care nearly as much. They just wanted to get out of the house. Of course you can't blame them for that, you only wish father actually let you go.

"How close are we?" Seulgi asks, bringing you back to reality. Well, so much for a trip down memory lane. You'll have to think about your siblings later. For now, the mission is more important. Get out of the city, meet at a barracks. Sounds pretty simple. You would comm one of the others, ask how they're doing, but it was silently agreed not to comm unless it's an emergency. If this is supposed to be stealth, then you need complete silence. The smallest ding of a comm could get you killed.

You gulp down the lump in your throat while Jace checks his map. "Not too much further," he says.

Seulgi checks her own map, furrowing her brows. "Maybe we should take a detour."

"That's what I was thinking," Jace says. The crew stops as he expands his map, pointing to a different area. "We saw the hill before, but it looks like there's an alleyway that leads to a mountainside. It's like a tourist attraction, walking through the outside of the mountain, you know?" Anya, Sapphire, and you nod. "If we go through that, we end up... here." He points to where you'd be on the map. Almost on the outskirts of the city. It's like a straight shot.

"That's a much better idea than keep going straight and hope we don't walk into any Martians," Baekhyun says.

"Exactly. We can get a little more privacy, and we get to where we need to go."

"Uh... guys?" Sapphire says, checking her tracker.

"What?" you ask, stepping forward.

"Whatever we're doing, we need to do it fast. They're getting closer. Two hundred feet and counting." Almost instantly, the crew takes off, sprinting towards the alleyway. Jace leads the way, bringing everyone down the alley, the dark, claustrophobic area an afterthought as you traverse the new terrain. It's long, just like most alleys nowadays. You grumble to yourself as you keep moving with your team, a full minute passing with Jace guiding you.

You reach the other side, the sunlight hitting you again. "The entrance isn't too much further," Jace says. There's a huge mountain not too far away, the entrance to a tourist site dead ahead.

"Mount Prospect? What?" Sapphire mutters as you approach the tourist area. Jace pushes everyone inside, closing and locking the doors behind you. With a pant, you quickly catch your breath.

"So, does anyone want to tell me what the fuck is going on?" Seulgi asks, whipping around to face everyone. Jace and Baekhyun share a shocked reaction while you, Anya, and Sapphire are just confused.

"Huh?" Anya asks, raising a single brow.

"This whole day is weird as fuck," she says, glaring as she peeks around the group.

"Can we talk and walk? We don't have much time," you say.

Although she's slightly hesitant, she agrees. "Fine. But I want answers, and I want them now."

"I know you're away from Hoseok, but we have to try and keep fighting. I know Jimin would want me-"

"This isn't about Hoseok or Jimin or any of our significant others," Seulgi interrupts, giving you a stare. "You know I love you Y/N, but when I explain, you'll be agreeing with me." Well that's a bold claim, you're pretty petty, agreeing with people is difficult for you.

Regardless of your thoughts, you purse your lips, deciding to just give her a nod. "Okay. Stay on alert, Sapphire, keep that tracker up."

"On it," she replies, doing as she's told.

"Jace, lead the way while I talk," Seulgi says. He nods, starting the trek. It's going to be a long one since the mountain is... well, a mountain. You're literally walking on the side of a mountain, of course it's going to be long.

You've never seen a mountainside tourist attraction before. It's like when you're driving a car and you go down a road attached to a mountain, except it's for trekking rather than driving. Like indoor hiking, in a way. Long, curvy corridors. White (and clean), lit up by bright LED lights in the ceiling. There's a window on the left side, showing the view of the mountain. You're not actually climbing up the mountain yet, you'll do that as you get closer. Technically you're not even on the mountain yet. This is the lobby, the actual hike is up ahead, which is why it'll take so long.

A light overhead starts to flicker, making you tremble. The last thing anyone needs is to be navigating this in the dark. Sure, you have the window light, but the window is facing east, in the direction the sun rises. It's late afternoon, the sun is starting to point more west. So yeah, the sun's rays are pointing the other direction now. Perfect, just what you needed. Well, as long as the lights stay on, you should be fine. Your ARs have flashlights too, but using those are a pain in the ass.

"Alright, now, start talking," Anya says as they move down the hall. Seulgi takes a moment, glancing out the window as they pass the lobby. The room starts to slant upwards. It's gradual, but enough to be noticed by your legs. You groan, still feeling the pain from when you got knocked back earlier. That explosion took all the wind out of you. Literally all of it. Regardless, you shake that feeling off to instead pay attention to Seulgi.

"Today we lost the Moonchild, right?" Everyone sadly nods. "Horrible situation. It happens though. Sometimes accidents happen that we can't prevent. I would have loved to fly with the Moon forever, but unfortunately, in war, stuff like this is common." Seulgi pauses for a moment, sucking in a deep breath. "My problem with it is, why that hangar? There are hangars twenty times more important all around Binghamton. Hell, even the world. Why that specific area on that specific hangar?" she asks.

No one answers, but it's not like anyone has an answer. Are you supposed to have one? You're not sure, so you just quietly listen. You peek towards the front, noticing Jace fiddling with his comm, clearly trying to bring up the map again. Why is he pulling up the map? It's a straight shot. His free hand falls to his pistol on his side, caressing the back of it. You blink, unsure of why he's holding that too. Is there an issue? Is he trying to track other Martians? If he found something he'd tell you, right?

"The Moonchild's location was kept a secret. She was kept out of public eye, up in the upper docks. It was like that for a reason, so Mars wouldn't know where she was. So she couldn't target her." Your left eye twitches. "How did Mars manage to find the damn Moonchild out of all the hangars in Binghamton? There's plenty, why that one? Why that specific area? I refuse to believe it was a lucky guess."

Jace's hand holds his pistol tighter, making you nervous as you piece the information together. Your legs start to hurt more the more you hike, about a quarter of the way through the mountain tunnel. It's getting hot in here, that's for sure. Getting out of this trail is the top priority.

"We can discuss that later, we need to get out of here first," you mumble, trying to get further. For some reason, the small space is scaring you. If something happens while you're in here, the odds of surviving are much lower. Please, just get at least three quarters of the way through first.

"We need to talk about this now. We don't know if the Martians are waiting for us on the other side or not yet," Seulgi says, a hint of fake amusement in her tone. You gulp but don't talk, you just let Seulgi continue. "And then Mars starts circling in on our location. Specifically ours. A whole circle around the hangar. How did they know we were there?"

"Do they know?" Baekhyun asks.

"Well if they destroyed the damn Moonchild, I think they had some idea that we were in the area. Isn't the whole point to kill us? Make an example? Demoralize the Earth troops?" Seulgi replies.

You stay quiet, deciding to avert your eyes to the ground. You hold your AR close to your chest, feeling the pressure sinking in. "I know you probably think I'm on edge because Hoseok isn't around, but it's not that. Of course I'm worried about him, but it just doesn't make much sense to me. The Moon gets destroyed out of no wherem and now Martians are circling around this particular area out of all the spots in the world they could go. Even over the other spots in Binghamton." Seulgi turns to face you, raising a brow. "Isn't that a little weird to you?" After hearing all she has to say, you kind of agree. It's strange how the Martians seem to have the jump on you even though you, Jungkook, and Jimin gave Earth a heads up. This isn't good. If what she's saying is true, and this isn't a coincidence...

You slowly peer at Jace, who isn't looking back at the crew. He has his body pointed forward, his hand still on the handle of his pistol. "So what are you saying?" Baekhyun asks.

"I'm saying they have someone on the inside, giving them details about us." You swallow what's left in your mouth, instinctively clicking off the safety to your AR. Baekhyun comes over, standing right next to you as if knowing there's safety in numbers. It's like the crew is backing away from Jace. You peek down for a moment, observing Jace's shadow. This is about to get messy. If what she's saying is right, then-

"Y/N, look out!"

Before you even know what's happening, a gunshot goes off. You freeze, your entire body numb. What the fuck? Although you were expecting to feel pain, you feel nothing. You look up, shivering ever so slightly. There's screams in the room, chaos breaking out, but you hear nothing. They're all background noise to you. The only thing that matters is the gunshot that went off. It went straight to you, but you didn't get it.

Baekhyun stands in front of you, facing you, his eyes wide in shock. He glances down, your eyes following his gaze. There's nothing visible on his armor, but he still slumps to the ground. "Baekhyun!" you cry, going down with him. You peek up in time to see Seulgi, Anya, and Sapphire pinning Jace to the ground, the man kicking and thrashing in their hold to no avail. "Guys!" you call, getting their attention.

"I got it, you help. You're stronger than me," Anya says to Sapphire, who nods. Anya comes rushing over. "Flip him over," she commands. Although your body is trembling, you do. His armor has a small hole in it near the back, so Anya does the only sensible thing in this situation. She takes off his armor, tossing it to the side uselessly. "Oh God," she mutters. Baekhyun seems too stunned to say anything. "Baekhyun? Talk to me, what's going on?" Anya says.

"That's just it, Ani. I don't know," he mutters, coughing after he says it.

Anya slows her motions, studying the area he was shot. "What do you feel?"

"Nothing."

"Is there anything I can do?" you ask, but she shakes her head, revealing his nasty wound. You resist the urge to gag and vomit, simply gritting your teeth. He got shot right in the mid-back.

Anya turns him, looking at his front. "I don't see an exit wound," she whispers to herself, taking her medkit off of her utility belt.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" you ask.

"Help the others contain Jace, I got this." Although you really want to argue, you don't.

"Please stay strong, Baekhyun. We're getting you out of this," you say, placing a hand on his cheek. He sniffles, nodding as best he can as tears trail down his face. "You took a bullet for me," you murmur, tearing up. "Why?"

"I... can't let you die," he whispers back, giving you the best smile he can muster. "If there's one thing this crew taught me, it's that if you have the chance to save lives." He pauses to cough. "Do it."

"Baekhyun..."

"Y/N, please," Anya says. "I know this is an emotional moment, but he needs space and I need concentration."

You reluctantly back away, giving Baekhyun one last nod. "Thank you," you whisper, knowing that it won't mean much since he's on the ground, a gunshot to the back.

"Over here," Seulgi says. You get up, heading over to the others, shooting Baekhyun a glance as you approach. Seulgi seems enraged, her pinning him down with Sapphire helping her. "Is he going to be alright, Ani?"

"I don't know yet. I'm trying everything I can. We need to get him to a hospital, there's only so much I can do from here."

"Shit," Seulgi mutters, then, she turns to Jace. "Why?!" she yells. Such a simple yet powerful question. Why? Why would he do this when the crew has shown him nothing but kindness? Nothing but hope.

"Orders from Clementine herself. If my timing is correct, I'm guessing she just confronted your friends now." Your eyes widen, you bringing your comm to your mouth and changing the frequency.

"Jimin? Jimin come in." There's silence for several seconds. If you weren't panicking before, you are now. "Jimin!" you shout, but again, no answer. "No no no. No please not you too. No..."

"What do you mean she confronted them?" Seulgi asks.

"Why would I tell you that?" Jace replies, shaking his head.

"Sapphire, do you want to make him talk, or do you want me to?"

Sapphire cracks her knuckles. "I'd fucking love to have a run at him." Seulgi backs away, letting Sapphire come closer.

"I was supposed to kill Y/N, who do you think poisoned her food that one night? You might as well just kill me. I'm a dead man anyway. I failed my mission, and that spells out Clementine executing you herself," Jace explains, his voice steady despite the situation.

"Why would you poison me? Why?" you ask.

"It was the easiest way to get you out of the picture. See what happened here? There's always someone around you, but that night, you and Jimin were alone. No weapons were allowed in, but poison? Easy enough to hide. Your death would have been a huge step in the right direction. Mars would be in high spirits, Jimin and your crew would be destroyed, and Mars would set an example to the entire solar system. You got killed on Earth, your own grounds. That just goes to show the power Mars holds." You stay quiet, choosing not to reply.

Seulgi looks back at Baekhyun, frowning as Anya works on him. "Do you even have a brother? Were you lying the whole time?" Seulgi asks.

Jace takes a moment, then sighs. "I do have a brother, and I love him dearly. I'm doing this because I believe Mars can help Earth."

"By destroying us?"

"By starting something new. Earth has been leading for too long. Way too long. There's been no change, no updates: nothing. The Belt suffered, Triton suffered, Ganymede suffered. Who's next on the list? All because of Earth's lack of action. I'm sorry, Seul. I know it isn't much, but I really am."

Seulgi stares at him, confliction in her eyes, but Sapphire beats her to the next words. "I'll gladly kill you," Sapphire says to Jace, gritting her teeth.

"We have to get moving, the bullet's lodged in his spine, I..." Anya breaks off, motioning to Seul. "Seulgi, can I talk to you?" Seulgi nods, taking Anya off to the side and out of earshot of the rest of the crew.

"You sick bastard. You shot our friend and for what?!" Sapphire asks in a hiss, taking out her pistol.

"Orders. For what it's worth, I was supposed to kill Seulgi too, but I couldn't. I did genuinely like her," Jace says, his tone quivering as he says the words.

"We don't care," you grumble. "We just want to know what the fuck she's planning." At his silence, your eyes narrow. "Where the fuck is my fiancé?" Within a heartbeat, you're getting closer to him, your hands clenching into fists. "Where is he?" you repeat when he doesn't answer.

"I don't know exactly where, I just know that Clementine was looking for him."

"Why?!"

"Why do you think? Same reason why I got assigned to you."

You take a shaky step back. "To... to kill me." As soon as the realization hits you, you almost fall over. "No, Jimin. No..." He can't be dead, he can't be. If he thought he was going to die, he'd comm you and say how much he loves you. You know that. He has to be alright. He has to be. "He's fine. He's fine," you say, but the words feel weak as they pass your lips.

Anya rushes back over to Baekhyun, checking on him. "Do you feel anything yet?"

"N-No, not at all," Baekhyun replies.

Anya sighs, looking up at you. "I know this is an emotional moment, but we need to move. The bleeding isn't stopping, he needs a hospital and now."

"Are there any even operational?" Sapphire asks in disbelief, Seulgi coming back over.

"Emergency ones, yeah. The main military tower is where we should go. It has a hospital built into it," Anya says.

Sapphire keeps her eyes on Jace, scoffing. "You're an absolute disgrace," she mutters, clenching her jaw. You're never seen her so angry.

"Guys, please, we need to get there now!" Anya begs.

"Alright, girls, let's carry him back. Sapphire, make sure you monitor your tracker. Let us know if any Martians are incoming. We need all the data we can get. Y/N, get his legs, Anya and I have his upper body, got it?" Seulgi says. You nod, about to rush over to help when Sapphire draws her pistol.

"Saph, what are you-"

"Rot in hell." She shoots Jace in the head, not caring about the shocked state of the crew.

"Saph, what the hell!" Anya shouts.

"Are you kidding? Good fucking riddance," Seulgi says, going over to Baekhyun to pick him up. Honestly, you agree with Sapphire here. He's too dangerous to keep alive. This is coming from you, Y/N L/N, the one who hates killing with every fiber of your being.

"Come on, let's go, we need to get moving," Sapphire says, disregarding Anya's glare. Despite everything going on, you rush over as well, helping pick up Baekhyun.

"Alright. On the count of three, ready?" Seulgi says. "One, two, three!" With all your remaining strength, you pick up Baekhyun, groaning at the effort. Your body is still weak from the explosion. Yeah, getting thrown back isn't as fun as it sounds. "Go back, it's easier to go back the way we came than to keep going."

Obviously, you're in no position to argue. So, the five of you head down the hall again, panting from the effort. God damn he's heavy. Or maybe he's just heavy because you're weak and so are the other girls. You've been beat up today, that's for damn sure. Not as badly as poor Baekhyun though.

Why did he take that bullet for you? Without hesitation he put himself between you and the bullet. You'd expect it from Jimin and Jungkook, hell maybe even Seulgi, but Baekhyun? It just makes you feel terrible. You should be in this position right now, not able to feel anything, being carried out... injured. Of course, it was his choice and you know he'll tell you to not feel bad, but you can't help it. If you only paid a little more attention. If you just tried harder. If you pulled your pistol out before Jace. Maybe none of this would be happening.

Regardless, you focus on holding Baekhyun up. The last thing he needs right now is to be dropped and hurt even more. You keep his legs up as you hurry to the end of the lobby. It only took a few minutes to get back the way you came, the group of you bursting through the doors, practically panting as soon as the fresh air hits your lungs.

"Oh my God," Sapphire mutters, placing a hand over her mouth. Everyone peeks up with her, eyes widening and jaws dropping as they take in the sight. Martian ships everywhere. That's to be expected of course, they're invading, but that's not the only thing that's so groundbreaking. The one thing you love the most is gone. Completely gone. The sky isn't blue anymore.

It's red.

"What the fuck?" Anya asks in disbelief.

"Ask questions later, get Baekhyun to safety now," Seulgi says, bringing everyone out of their shock. Despite how much you want to stare at the now-dark sky, you obey Seulgi. Thank God at least one of you can think under massive pressure. Sapphire keeps peering at her tracker as the group continues, going down the road, Seulgi keeping her map open.

It's hard for her to see her map since she's holding Baekhyun, but she makes it work. "This way," she says, motioning with her head where to go.

"Guys, stop!" Sapphire calls, causing you to go still, Anya and Seulgi doing the same.

"What is it?" Seulgi whisper-asks, her form just barely covered by a building next to her.

"Look," Sapphire whispers back, coming closer. She shows Seulgi her tracker, and Seulgi's posture immediately slumps.

"What's wrong?" you ask, barely holding Baekhyun's legs up.

"Fucking hell. Why us?" Seulgi mutters. You and Anya share a look of confusion before turning back to the other two girls in the front.

"Anyone want to fill us in?" you ask. Baekhyun, despite his state, nods in agreement. Or at least, he gives the best nod he can.

"We're trapped," Seulgi says in defeat, showing you the tracker. Oh no. There's Martians only about fifty feet from your position. They're staying still, waiting for you to move. "Can we go back in? Come out the other way?" Seulgi asks Anya, who shakes her head.

"He won't survive that long, he needs medical attention as soon as possible. My medkit can only do so much for a spinal injury." Baekhyun's eyes jump, which only makes you feel worse. This is bad. This is really really bad. Scared is an understatement. You're fucking terrified.

"We don't have much choice, we have to try and stay on course. Sapphire, you're on guns, protect us. Y/N, you do the same. Anya, switch to the back and grab his legs. We may be slower that way, but we'll be safer," Seulgi says. Anya nods, the two of you quickly switching positions. You take your AR off your shoulder, checking to make sure it's loaded. "Alright, let's move out. Baekhyun needs to get out of here."

Everyone follows Seulgi's orders, but, as soon as they turn the corner, a whole group of Martians are there, waiting for them. It's an entire roadblock, in a way. You and Sapphire whip up your guns, preparing to fire, but you hear a commanding voice boom out to you. "Hold your fire, you won't win this fight." You hold your ground, digging your feet into the gravel beneath you. What kind of girl are you if you don't at least try?

"Steady," Seulgi whispers.

"Drop your weapons!" the same male voice calls. You and Sapphire share an uneasy glance, then do as he says. Reluctantly, you slowly drop the weapon, placing it on the ground in front of you. "Kick it away." The two of you do. "Now pistols."

"Fuck," you say to yourself, grabbing that and tossing it away. Sapphire mimics your actions, glaring down the Martians.

"Hands up and drop the one you're holding."

"He needs medical attention or he dies! He has a spinal injury, please!" Anya shouts as the Martians come closer.

"I said hands up! Drop the one you're holding!" Seulgi tells Anya to listen to the man, and they do, gently placing Baekhyun on the ground before joining you and Sapphire in front, their hands going up in-sync with yours.

"Cuff em'," the man says, several Martian soldiers coming up to you. There has to be at least two dozen. Jesus Christ, what the hell? They really were ready for you, huh? Jace told them everything about your position, everything about your condition, where the Moon was, and probably where Jimin went. Not Jimin, please not Jimin. You bring your comm down to your lips, making the soldiers raise their weapons.

Of course, you don't give a shit. You change the frequency to match both Jimin and Jungkook's frequency. "Koo, I'm so sorry... Jimin, I..." The Martians cuff your friends, coming over to you, holding a pistol up to your chest. "I love you, Jimin. I love you so much." You cut the comm in time for them to forcibly rip it off your wrist, making you wince. Your wrist throbs from the harsh action, but you're in no position to argue.

The closest Martian soldier crushes the comm, the others taking the comms from your group, doing the same thing. Even if Jimin's alive, you won't be able to talk to him. However, before you can keep mentally panicking, a Martian cuffs you and brings you forward. "What do we do with them?" a male soldier asks.

"Bring the injured one to the relief station, that's Baekhyun, I hear Clementine wants a word with him," the man who you think is in charge says. Then, he motions to the others, including you. "As for them, bring them on board."

Your eyes widen. "What? On board? Where are you taking us?"

The man shakes his head, typing something into his wrist comm. "Clementine is still with Commander Park. Get those broadcasts ready boys and girls."

"What the hell is she doing to him?!" you yell, thrashing in the Martian's hold. He keeps you steady, but that doesn't stop you from jerking rapidly, trying to break free.

"Your little fiancé is getting executed on live TV, sweetheart. Right in New York City for everyone to see," the man says, snickering.

"No!" you shout, trying even harder to get out of the man's grasp. "Fuck you! I'll fucking kill you! I'll kill her! I'll kill everyone!" You squirm and squirm, but to no avail.

"Sedate her and get them on the battleship. Take them back to Mars," he says.

"Mars?!" Seulgi cries. Sapphire is rather quiet, her eyes on the ground. Anya, on the other hand, is more worried about Baekhyun behind the four of you.

You thrash harder, gritting your teeth. "Fuck you! Get that thing away from me!" you say, trying to get away. A man approaches, flicking his finger at a needle while the Martian soldier holds you in place. You're not going down without a fight. You try kicking the man coming closer, but he easily dodges. "Get the fuck away! No! Jimin!" you cry out of instinct, wanting to see his face one last time. The needle enters your neck, and you whimper, your lower lip quivering as whatever sedation they're using enters your veins. Almost all at once, your body gets weak, your actions slow. "Jimin," you softly say, your eyes blinking slower than normal.

Then everything goes black.

~Unknown~

"Ugh... fuck..."

Everything hurts. Literally everything. Your body feels weak, everything feels horrible. With a small blink, you start to come back into consciousness. You blink and blink, finally realizing that you're right back where you started. A damn locker. Back when you were caught as a stowaway, those men threw you in one of these. It's bigger than the average locker, it can fit around three people, the gravity turned off for this area. So, you're floating in 0g.

With a groan, you kick off the closest wall, your legs throbbing at the contact. Despite the pain, you go over to the door, placing both your hands on it. You can't see out of it, so there's not much use there, but you can still hear. Of course you hear nothing, so there's no point, but still. Last time you were in this situation, you tried to get out of the locker. Did that work? Hell no, it only worked when the emergency lights came on.

Great, you're completely alone. Part of you wonders where Jimin is. Is he okay? There's physically nothing you can do for him, but you can think. Thinking normally causes most of your problems. Thinking leads to overthinking, leading to panicking, leading to rash decisions, leading to you getting hurt. Sounds like an average day in your life at this point.

Alone with your thoughts. Who's idea was this again? You start thinking of all the previous events, then, your eyes widen. Baekhyun. Is he okay? They said they would take him to safety, but did they keep their promise? Clearly you're on a ship, a battleship is what they said, so you're not on the ground. Even if you manage to get back on the ground, how are you going to find Baekhyun, Jimin, Jungkook; hell, everyone?

What about Mr. Blaine? Did he get hurt? Is he okay? He was in Binghamton when the Martians touched down. You know what? What about the rest of the damn world, clearly it wasn't only Binghamton that they went to. They had too many ships to just land in New York. You grit your teeth, your head hurting from thinking too much. So, you push yourself away from the door, going to the center of the room and floating. You keep floating, curling yourself into a ball and not thinking about anything else.

Five minutes pass. Then ten. Then fifteen. Then, there's an alarm in your room. Although confused, you have enough pilot training to know that means they're turning on the gravity to your chamber. You straighten yourself, giving your legs the proper position for when you land. After five seconds, the gravity turns on, you falling to the ground. Even though you expected it, you still yelp at the sudden feeling of falling.

Your feet hit the ground, you almost falling over at the impact. You place both your hands on the metal, coughing as the door to your locker opens. Before you can even ask anything, you're harshly grabbed by two guards, them picking you up by the shoulders and leading you out of the room. "Hey!" you shout, feeling pain as your feet try to keep up with them.

They drag you out of the locker, your eyes widening when you see that you are in fact on a battleship. Looks like you're a prisoner of war. Great. Wonderful, this is exactly what you needed today. Although you want to ask where the fuck they're taking you, you know you won't get an answer. Silence is the best option. The lights flicker to emergency lights, making you jump. Alright, something's not right.

As soon as you start thinking of all the possibilities, the ship lurches, the guards' grip slipping on you. You fall to the ground, groaning as your face hits the deck. "God dammit," you mutter, holding your head. You turn in time to see the guards on the ground too. Before anyone can react, another lurch goes off, this one harder. The entire ship rattles, throwing you and the guards across the floor.

The guards hold their stomachs, groaning. The area you're in is a large hallway. Like, really large. In width and height, it's gigantic. If you slip away now, maybe you can get out of here. Granted, you have no idea where you're going, but you can figure it out. Battleship handbook: you remember it well. Janitor closet. That's your best bet. That's right, your survival is relying on a damn closet. Whatever, you don't have time to question it.

Despite the pain in your body, you wobbly stand, the guards not noticing as they check on each other first. The red lights and crowded area make it harder to see you, so you take your chance, running away from them. The crowd starts moving again, everyone standing and rushing to get to their stations. You cut straight through them, blending in completely. Closets should be in the corner of the ship, down one of the hallways.

You break through the crowd, finding one of said hallways, zooming down it. Everyone's too preoccupied with the current situation to care, so you locate one of the janitor closets and slip inside. With a huff, you close and lock the door behind you, turning to look at what's inside. There's some jumpsuits, supplies, hats, carts... wait, jumpsuits and hats? Score. Finally, something goes right.

You take a hat, tucking as much hair as you can into it, taking off the ugly gray jumpsuit given to all prisoners. Granted, the janitor jumpsuit is a faded blue, but still. It's better than the gray, at least you don't stick out like a sore thumb anymore. As soon as the jumpsuit is secure, you turn around and leave the closet. Where to now? Get your crewmates? You're looking for Sapphire, Anya, and Seulgi. Three people. How will you find them? Open a bunch of storage lockers and pray. Granted, with emergency lights normally that means the power is cut to storage lockers, but still. There may be guards outside you need to take out. You're more than happy with doing that.

The crowd comes into view again as you reach the main corridor, glancing around. The other side of the hall is where the lockers are; you're going to have to make it over there. You wonder if anyone's searching for you, or if they're too preoccupied with self-preservation. You're guessing it's the latter, seeing as no one even peeks in your direction as you cut back through the crowd.

Claustrophobia was not something you thought you had, but being this close to this many people is frustrating and suffocating as hell. You shove through, not caring about how much attention you draw to yourself. You break free from the crowd, finally making it to the other side. More lockers. Lockers upon lockers upon lockers. You see the closest locker and run up to the control panel, popping it open.

You notice that it's open already, so you push the door. A guard is inside, trying to grab a girl. It's not one of your girls, but still a girl who needs help, so you rush into action. You jump forward, knocking the guard off of the girl. With just one glance, you see that the poor lady is all beat up, crying, bruises and blood littering her skin. Yeah, she's in no condition to fight. This is on you. Yoongi's training prepared you for this.

The guard knocks you away from him, but you expected it. He faces the door, you standing in front of the woman who's laying on the ground. You huff, holding your fists up and preparing for a fight. However, you don't get a chance to fight him since another figure comes dashing into the room.

The figure grabs the guard, pinning him to the wall. Your eyes widen as you watch the scene. She grabs the pistol from the guard's holster while he's pinned, shooting him in the head.

"Are you alright?" Sapphire asks when it's over, breathing heavily as she turns to look at you.

"I should be asking you that," you reply, going up to her. "How did you get here?"

"They started dragging me away, but the ship kept knocking us down. I got out of there. They were looking for me, but I think they gave up. Honestly, I would have done the same thing in their shoes."

"I was the same way." You turn to face the injured woman, kneeling. "Are you okay?"

She seems hesitant, then nods. "Thank you for saving me," she mutters. Saving prisoners is probably not a great idea, but you need to get your crew back. Plus, these are prisoners against Mars. You're sure most of them are good people, or at least, their hearts are in the right place.

"I'm glad we did. Get to an escape pod, they won't notice you're gone. They didn't notice we were." You motion to Sapphire and you.

The woman nods in understanding. "Thank you again. Good luck."

She stands, giving you and Sapphire one last appreciative look before departing the room. "Alright, what now?" Sapphire asks.

"We need to find Anya and Seulgi, any idea where they are?"

"I wish. Don't worry, we'll find them, we just have to move quickly."

"Follow me." She does, you leading her out of the small locker. Looks like all the gravity got turned on for the lockers when the emergency lights came on. Last time you were in a locker, it was the opposite. The entire ship turned to 0g. Maybe that goes to show the power of battleships.

"I'm going right, you go left. Meet here in five minutes?" you say.

She nods. "Works for me. Hopefully Seulgi has a plan for after since I have no idea what to do."

You sigh. "Neither do I. Let's go." The two of you split up, you going right, her going left. You search every locker but see that they're empty. The first one: empty. Second one: empty. Third one: empty. How the hell are you going to find them if the lockers are all empty?

However, you do see someone peeking inside a locker not too far away, so you rush forward to hear what they have to say. "Y/N? Anya? Sapphire? Fucking hell, where are you guys?"

"Maybe closer than you think." Seulgi jumps and turns around, seeing you there.

"Oh thank God you're okay. I was about to tear this whole ship apart to find you," she says.

"I was the same way. Sapphire's in the other direction, now it's just Anya."

She nods, then, pauses. You look at her in confusion, then she sighs and steps forward. She gently embraces you, making you go still for a few seconds. You quickly hug her back, smiling. Although you definitely don't have time for this, it's nice. It's what you needed. After this whole crazy ass day, you've needed this. She pulls back after only a few seconds, giving you a frown.

"I'm so sorry. If I wasn't such an asshole who insisted on going separately from the others..."

You cut her off by shaking your head. "You did what you thought was best. We had a better chance going in smaller groups to sneak by, they just had the upper hand. Either way we would have got caught. You heard Jace. He said that Jimin... he got caught by Clementine..." The realization hits you, causing you to stagger back, "H-He got... he got caught and..."

Seulgi shushes you, stepping forward and placing her hands on your shoulders. "You know Jimin, he'll find a way. You know the boys. Taehyung and Yoongi? They have enhancements, which gives them a better chance than it gave us. They'll find a way. Jimin always finds a way." She pauses for a moment, sadly smiling. "For you. He'll find a way to see you again, even if it's only for one last second."

You sniffle, tearing up as the panic around you falls into the background. "Thank you," you whisper, barely heard over the screams of the Martians running down the hall.

"It's only the truth," she whispers back.

Before you can spend any more time standing here, you motion for her to follow you. "Come on, let's go find Sapphire." She nods, sprinting with you as you go back down the hall. Seulgi searched all the other lockers, so going that way is pointless not to mention the lockers are already open. Anya's smart, she would have figured that out.

The two of you keep moving until you find Sapphire down the left side, her opening a locker. "Saph!" you call. She turns, looking up with hope in her eyes. Her happy mood quickly falters when she only sees you and Seulgi there.

"Seul, I'm glad you're alright don't get me wrong, but... Anya?"

"I don't know, how many more lockers are there?" you ask.

"Only three on this side," she sadly mutters, opening the next one.

Seulgi checks the one after Sapphire, then sighs, looking down. "Nothing."

Sapphire checks the last one, her posture going still. "Nothing," she whispers.

"Hey, don't worry, that just means she's around here somewhere. Maybe she's like us, she was getting taken but the guards got knocked bac-" There's another rumble that hits the ship, making the three of you fall to the ground.

There's a chorus of groans that sounds off from the three of you, your head throbbing. God damn, this day never ends, does it? Where the hell is Anya? You shakily stand, your legs wobbling as Seulgi and Sapphire stand with you.

"Are you guys okay?" Sapphire asks, rubbing her head.

"I'll live," Seulgi says, and you nod in agreement. "The best thing we can do right now is probably an idea you won't like."

Sapphire waves the pistol she stole from the guard around. "Whatever it is, I'm ready."

Seulgi softens at her determination. "We need to get to the bridge. If Anya got taken, that's where they took her. If she managed to escape then she could be anywhere. Our best bet is the bridge."

"If we take it, we can see what the hell is going on," Sapphire adds, causing you to agree.

"Let's get moving, we should know a Martian battleship well enough by now, right?" Seulgi jokes. You grunt, but you're glad someone is trying to take the edge off.

The three of you move down the hall, the other Martians ignoring you as sparks go off around the ship. This battleship isn't going to last long, that's for sure. There's something wrong here. Earth must be putting up a good fight. That fills you with pride, but you don't really have time to think about that right now. You focus on moving down the hall, Sapphire holding her pistol up. You're about to question her, but she interrupts you by opening fire.

You and Seulgi jump, about to yell at her when you see she downed three guards. "Come on!" she shouts, rushing over to them. She takes an AR from one of them, but the others don't have them, so she grabs their pistols. She takes the extra one, handing one to both you and Seulgi. Although the two of you are confused as hell, you don't even care. Some of the Martians took notice of the commotion, but of course, what's an unarmed Martian going to do about it? They just stare in shock before running away again. The three of you take their armor before starting your movements again.

Sapphire leads the way, going in the direction of the bridge. You and Seulgi don't question her, you decide to follow. Only about a minute away. Great. How are you going to take a whole ass bridge? Granted, you have the element of surprise, but still.

"Where are the escape pods?" Seulgi asks.

"On battleships, they're everywhere," you explain, pointing to the walls. "It's mandatory to have at least five per sector, and there's a lot of sectors."

"Good," Seulgi whispers as the door to the bridge comes into view. What's even better, it's already open. As you slow down, you peek inside the room. It's completely frantic, everyone rushing around and shouting orders. This is perfect. There's about fifteen people inside, all distracted. Literally a perfect opportunity to take it. Sapphire and Seulgi seem to share the same thoughts as you seeing as they click off the safety's to their weapons. The three of you share a nod before rushing inside.

Sapphire blasts her AR all around the room, downing as many as she can. Despite your hatred of killing, you shoot with your pistol, taking out the ones who have their backs turned. The three of you caught the entire bridge off guard, killing them all in less than a minute. As soon as the last body falls, Seulgi motions for the two of you to keep your weapons raised, so, you do.

"Check to make sure there's no survivors. Last thing I want is a bullet to the back," she mumbles, creeping forward. You check the pulses on the ones shot, most of them dead. One of them wasn't, so you shot him in the head. Other than that, everyone is gone. "Y/N, give us a report."

You rush towards the pilot's chair, pushing the dead pilot off and taking his place. "Look, the weapon!" Sapphire says, pointing to the outside. You look, noticing how one of the ships has the weapon. It's just as big as the battleship you're in, but the weapon seems like it's already been used.

"Wait, these readings," you mumble, looking down at them.

"It looks like they're charging it again," Seulgi says, panic in her tone.

"What do we do?" Sapphire asks.

"Well, we can either sit here, or we can do something really stupid," you reply.

The two slowly turn to look at you. "What's this 'something really stupid' plan, dear Y/N?" Seulgi asks, blinking at you.

"Well, we need to find Anya. But afterwards, we ram the battleship into the flagship."

"What?"

"Look, the bridge has escape pods. We can set it on course, and a minute before impact we abandon ship and get back down to the surface," you explain.

"You know, you guys should really lock the door." Everyone snaps around at the new voice. Anya stands there, closing the door to the bridge. "Oh, never mind, it doesn't lock," Anya says, uselessly tapping on the lock. "Malfunctioning, great. I'll block it instead-" She's interrupted by Sapphire rushing up to her and hugging her. Anya softly chuckles, hugging back. "I missed you too. Now come on, let's block this door."

Sapphire pushes her blonde locks back as she grabs a large table, motioning for Anya to help her. Seulgi stays next to you, looking over the readings. "We have Anya. I like your plan, let's do it."

"I'm sorry, what plan?" Anya asks with a grunt, her and Sapphire pressing the table against the door. It'll still open since it's a metal, sliding door, but the table should stop anyone from just running inside.

"Sapphire and Anya, start up one of the escape pods," Seulgi says, pointing to the corner of the room.

"On it boss," Sapphire replies, rushing over, Anya right on her tail. You set up the course, starting the ship. She rumbles underneath your touch, making you softly smile.

"The last time I flew a battleship, it was to blow up Jackson's ship," you say.

"Why is it whenever you fly a battleship, we're blowing up something big?" Seulgi asks.

You shrug. "I'm marrying Jimin of all people. Chaos follows me everywhere thanks to that, but I'm fine with this. Let's ram the ship into this big ass weapon."

You turn up the thrusters, turning the ship towards the flagship and going as fast as you can. Almost immediately, there's a comm to you. "Captain, why did you suddenly change directions?" a male voice asks.

Seulgi clears her throat. "We're taking heavy fire, we're moving our position in hopes to have a better angle of attack, please do not be alarmed." After a few seconds of tense silence, he speaks again.

"Understood, please slow your speed."

"Yes sir, just give us a few seconds our thrusters are acting up."

You cut the comm, turning up your speed even more. "Impact in forty seconds, please tell me the escape pod is ready!"

"Ready! Get in here!" Anya's voice calls back. You make sure you're still on course, setting up the auto pilot to hit the center of the flagship as Seulgi runs to the pod.

"Y/N! Come on! We have to get out of the blast radius!"

"Hang on!" you call back, jumping out of the chair and rushing over.

The two of you enter, Sapphire closing the door behind you. "Take your seats, we're lifting off," Anya says, sitting down. You take the pilot's seat, flicking a few switches before checking on everyone.

"Everyone strapped in?" At everyone's nod, you take off, the pod slipping out of the battleship and down into free space. You grit your teeth at the sudden dip of gravity, pulling the yoke to make sure you go straight down towards Earth. There's so much debris in the sky, so much fire. No wonder why the sky is red.

You go down and down, getting further away from the battleship. You glance at your monitor, seeing how close the ship gets to the weapon. And after a few seconds, the entire galaxy seems to rattle. The ships impact together, the two of them exploding. Your eyes jump as the color rings around your vision, your other three crewmates staying quiet for a second.

"We did it," Sapphire mumbles.

"We did it," Anya repeats. As soon as the weapon is destroyed, Earth seems to snap to their senses, firing as hard as they can on the Martian ships.

"We're winning," you say in awe, watching as the Martian ships slowly start to dwindle. It's like all at once, everything changed. That one move turned the tide in your favor.

"Holy shit, we're winning!" Seulgi says in a cheer, the four of you all momentarily celebrating. Despite all the happy emotions rushing through your veins, your mind wanders elsewhere. You weren't gone from Earth for too long, but still...

Where's Jimin?

~15:03~

"Get down!"

Jimin does as he's told, ducking below a car as more bullets sound off in the area. It's safe to say this fight is interesting. Jimin is holding his wrist against his chest, panting as he feels the blood dripping down his skin. He doesn't have much time left, that's for sure. He needs blood and stitches, otherwise he's dead. Wrist injuries, what a pain in the ass. Regardless, he gulps, glancing over at Jungkook. He's firing at the Martians, trying not to get hit.

Jungkook swings himself below the car, heaving. "Jungkook?" Jimin asks, not sure if he's okay or not.

"Sorry, I forgot I don't have enhancements and this is taking a lot out of me."

"Stay down," Jimin says, but Jungkook brushes his superior off.

"You're hurt, sir. We need to protect you."

"I'll live," Jimin grumbles back, peeking down the street. There's approximately two dozen Martians left. They managed to take out five Martians as soon as the fight broke out, but there's still twenty-four Martians to deal with. What's even better: Commander Clementine is no where to be seen. She must have fled, knowing that this isn't a fight she'll win.

The crew is skilled, that's for sure. Their pure determination is enough to get them through most fights. Jimin grits his teeth and clenches his jaw, unsure of what to do or where to go. They're pinned down by enemy fire, unable to peek and fire back. The Martians are suppressing them. So what's their play?

"Jungkook, watch our flanks. I think they're suppressing us so some of them can sneak around and end us."

Jungkook hums. "On it, sir."

The others are all ducked behind other cars, Namjoon's ghost next to Hoseok and Yoongi as he observes the fight. Jin and Taehyung are not far away from Jungkook and Jimin. They're ducked under another car, only a few feet behind the Captain and Executive.

"Keep watching at our flanks, I'll see if I can find us an opening," Jimin says, checking his rounds on his AR. He's good, so he kneels, preparing to try and blindly fire back.

"Jimin!" Jungkook calls. He jumps at the sudden voice, whipping around to see four Martian soldiers starting to creep into their view. Jimin kneels next to Jungkook, firing at the four unsuspecting Martians. They go down, them trying to fire back but hitting the car instead of Jimin and Jungkook. Thank God, Jimin can't take any more gunshots.

Jimin feels something brush by him, so he turns, seeing Namjoon kneeling there. "Joon?" Jungkook whisper-asks, noticing the same thing Jimin does.

"How are you here? How can all of our boys see you but not the enemy?" Jimin asks, praying his tone doesn't sound desperate.

"Now's not the time for that. I'll explain later, but for now you need help, and what kind of friend would I be if I ignored you?" Jimin softly smiles, nodding despite the tears in his eyes. "There's twenty left, I counted. Jimin, you need medical attention immediately. You'll bleed out," Namjoon says in an urging tone, but Jimin shakes him off.

"I'll save it for after the fight. For now, we need to win. Any suggestions?"

"Have Hoseok and Yoongi flank, the Martians don't even know they're behind that car."

Jungkook and Jimin share a look, then agree. "Can you tell them?" Jimin asks.

"On it," Namjoon says, going back over to the other two.

"We just talked to a ghost... and he fucking talked back," Jimin says in disbelief.

"I thought we were hallucinating," Jungkook mumbles, rubbing his temple with his fingers.

Jimin peeks up at the red sky, sighing before coming back down to meet Jungkook's eyes. "I guess just like the aliens, some things can't be explained." Jungkook nods in agreement, about to reply when his comm goes off.

"Koo, I'm so sorry... Jimin, I..." Y/N's voice says. Jimin goes still, staring at Jungkook in astonishment. Jungkook shares his reaction, bringing his comm closer to their ears so they can hear better. "I love you, Jimin. I love you so much." The comm goes dead, leaving the two in silence.

"What the hell?" Jungkook mutters.

"Get her back," Jimin says, his voice cracking.

Jungkook fumbles with his comm, attempting to match her frequency. "Y/N? Y/N, come in! Please come in!" He goes still once he doesn't even hear static. They lock eyes, Jimin desperately trying to understand. "It's dead. Her comm, it must have got destroyed." The gunfire from the Martians doesn't even matter anymore, all Jimin cares about is Y/N. He slumps to the ground, falling right on his ass. Jungkook has pretty much the same reaction. They both know what 'I'm sorry, I love you' means.

Even though Hoseok and Yoongi are putting Namjoon's plan into motion, all Jimin can think about is Y/N. However, that quickly changes when Jungkook screams in pain, falling to the ground. "Kook!" Jimin shouts, surprised to see two more Martians rushing forward, flanking them. Jin and Taehyung cover them, peeking out from their cars to gun down the Martians. As soon as they drop to the ground, Taehyung leaves his safe spot, risking getting hit to jump forward.

Tae closes the distance between their car and Jimin's, diving right next to Jungkook. "Hey, Kook, please talk to me," Taehyung says, bringing Jungkook onto his lap. Jungkook pants, crying softly. "Where were you hit?" Tae asks, Jimin kneeling and looking at Jungkook.

"T-Twice," Jungkook says in a pant, pointing to his thigh. "That one I don't think went through, but my... fuck, my hip..." Taehyung peels off Jungkook's armor, noticing the blood dripping down his skin.

"Shit," Jimin mumbles, placing his good hand over the wound and dropping his AR.

"Jimin, stay here, I'll cover you. Keep your hand on it, I'll make sure we win this fight." Jimin nods, agreeing to Tae's plan as he kneels near the corner of the car. He has no idea how many Martians are left. Jungkook is what matters. He's taking a beating. Of course the armor held for the thigh but not the hip. Granted, the thigh isn't a good target either. Lots of blood in there, and the last thing Jungkook needs is to die of blood loss. At least Jimin can try and keep pressure on the wound.

Jungkook shoves him off, shakily standing. "Jungkoo-" Jimin's interrupted by Jungkook grabbing his pistol, whipping around and shooting two Martians trying to flank them. How the fuck did Jungkook know they were there? Jimin's jaw drops as Jungkook holds his wound with the other hand, rushing forward. "You're injured you bastard! You don't have enhancements anymore!" Jimin shouts, but Jungkook ignores him.

"I can bleed after the war's over!" Jungkook shouts back, ducking behind a car only a few feet in front of Jimin.

Well, Jungkook just killed two Martians while injured. This asshat. He's really showing off like that, huh? Competitive little shit. Fine, Jimin will do the same. Despite the pain in Jimin's wrist, he props himself up on the car and grabs his weapon, firing away with his AR. Approximately sixteen Martians left with Hoseok and Yoongi flanking them. This fight is starting to turn in their favor.

Jimin can hear the bullets whizzing by his face, but he doesn't care. He shoots the three Martians on the tank while they got stuck reloading, downing them. His firing isn't very accurate since he only has one hand, but it's better than nothing. Regardless of his pain, he swings his other hand forward, grabbing the AR so his accuracy is better. The kickback on the rifle pounds into his injured wrist, but the pain is an afterthought.

Thirteen left. Hoseok and Yoongi charge the Martians, firing away when they least expect it. Tae, Jin, Jimin, and Jungkook cover them, Namjoon watching the fight from behind the car Hoseok and Yoongi were originally behind. Hoseok and Yoongi double team them, downing four. Nine left. Jimin hits another. Eight. Tae, being the badass he is, rushes forward once he sees their dwindling numbers. Jungkook does the same, limping but not caring. Six. Jin shoots one right in the head, the Martian falling over. Five.

Jimin decides to get in on the rush, running out from behind his car, Jin mimicking his actions. Together, the two shoot three Martians hiding behind the tank. Two. They surrender, dropping their weapons. Hoseok and Yoongi force them to their knees, scoffing at them. Jimin nods to Hoseok, who nods back. Almost in-sync, Yoongi and Hoseok whip around, holding their pistols in their hands. In the blink of an eye, they pull the trigger, no remorse on their faces as the last two Martians fall to the ground, dead.

As soon as the adrenaline of the fight wears off, Jimin drops his AR, looking around at the others. Jungkook is holding his hip but standing, a pistol by his side. Tae is right by Jungkook's side, holding the wound as well. Yoongi and Hoseok are next to each other, staring at Jimin in concern.

Jin comes up to Jimin from behind. "Are you okay?" Jin asks. Jimin stares at Jin, about to reply with a 'yes', but then, he collapses.

Jimin heaves, sucking in the air around him as his body shivers. "Move! Make way!" Hoseok shouts, sliding to his knees. He takes off Jimin's weak armor, locating his wrist injury. "Fuck, he needs blood and he needs it fast. Jimin, what's your blood type?" Hoseok asks. Jimin tries to form words, but he can't. Fuck, just say 'A', it's not that hard Park Jimin! He tries and tries, but his tongue is too dry.

"I'm an O, do you have the supplies on you?" Yoongi asks, kneeling next to Hoseok.

"I have an emergency transfusion field kit, Jin, get over here and help. Jungkook, you and Tae treat your wound too." Jin does as he's told, kneeling in front of Jimin's wrist while Jungkook and Tae get to work. "Hold it up for me." Jin does, Hoseok inspecting the wound. "Fucking hell Captain, why couldn't you just not get shot?"

Jimin dryly chuckles, but it comes out as more of a cough. "Y-Y... Y/N," he mumbles.

"Stay with me Capt, we're going to patch you up, okay?" Hoseok says, although Jimin detects a hint of panic in his tone. "I see an exit wound, the bullet went clean through," Hoseok adds, guiding Jimin's wrist to his lap. "Of course the fucking wrist, of course, couldn't make this any easier could you?" Hoseok grumbles to himself, getting to work with cleaning and dressing the wound. "Get the emergency transfusion kit and prepare yourself, Yoongi." Yoongi quickly follows his orders, digging into Hoseok's medkit and grabbing the thing.

Jimin keeps his eyes on the red sky, panting. "I'm wrapping the gauze around you now, okay Capt? Let me know if it's too..." Hoseok's voice fades out for Jimin. He simply focuses on the clouds. Y/N would love them, that's for sure. Not the red sky, but the clouds. He softly smiles, thinking of her. Where is she now? Is she okay? Is she hurt? Oh who is he kidding, of course she is. That last comm, it has to mean she's dead.

He tears up, his soft smile turning into a frown as his lower lip quivers. Everything hurts, and he doesn't mean physically. He's so tired of not knowing if she's alive or dead. It feels like it happens all the time anymore. He just wants her with him, right by his side. There's always hope. Last time he was told she was dead, she was alive and well. Maybe this is one of those times.

"I'm sorry," Jimin murmurs, feeling himself go.

"Capt, stay with me!" a faint voice says. Jimin tilts his head down, hitting the gravel. His blurry vision still makes out a figure next to him, looking at him with sadness in his eyes. Namjoon. He's kneeling, trying to get Jimin to stay strong. Jimin gives Namjoon a smile, trying his hardest to stay conscious, but it's impossible. So, he does the only thing he can.

"I love you," he whispers with all his remaining strength, hoping that Y/N will hear it, but he knows she won't. His vision fades in and out, a whiteness poking and prodding at the edges of his eyes.

Without another word, he lets himself drift away.

~15:19~

Seulgi steps out onto the surface, observing the new area. "Jesus," she mumbles, eyes wide. They may have won the battle in the sky, but Binghamton looks like a dystopian world right now. The buildings are scarred, fires breaking out, bodies littering the streets. The only good news is, most of the bodies are Martians. That's always the good news. Their leaders are dead, now it's just Clementine.

The pain of Jace's betrayal is hitting full force now, all the emotions swelling in all at once. She trusted him; she brought him into the crew. She sniffles as she walks in-step with her small gang of girls, the three around her quiet. However, that quickly changes when Sapphire draws her pistol, firing once. Seulgi jumps, watching as Sapphire walks forward, a Martian kneeling and groaning in pain, holding his knee.

"Wait-" Sapphire shoots him in the head, storming right by him without a second thought. Although Seulgi wants to say something, she bites her tongue. Right now she's in too much pain. The four girls trek together, going in the direction they remember the boys went.

"Seul, you have your map?" Anya asks. Seulgi snaps back to her senses, bringing it up. Y/N peeks at Seulgi with concern, trotting up to her.

"Anya, Saph, can you scout the area ahead?" Y/N asks. Although hesitant, they nod, looking over the map before doing as they're told. Seulgi sighs, turning off her map again as she faces Y/N. "It wasn't your fault," she whispers, shaking her head as if reading Seulgi's thoughts.

"I brought him into our crew. Baekhyun is suffering because of me."

"He tricked all of us, not just you," Y/N says, placing a hand on Seulgi's shoulder.

"We don't know where the hell Baekhyun is because of me. I brought a damn spy right into our house."

"And we all accepted him with open arms. This isn't only you, Seul. You're not sitting alone anymore, all of us are here. Your decisions are ours too," she softly replies, giving Seulgi's shoulder a squeeze. "Please... don't beat yourself up over something like this. We don't know Baekhyun's fate, you're right, but Jace would have found a way into our lives. This is everyone's fault, not just yours."

At her words, Seulgi slowly starts to believe her. "Still," she mumbles, looking down.

"Look at me." Seulgi takes a moment, then looks up again. "We would never blame you for this. Baekhyun wouldn't blame you either. When this is all over, you can go ask him because we know him. He's a fighter, he'll pull through. Just like our boys. Wherever Jimin and Hoseok are, they're fine. They have to be."

Seulgi sadly smiles at Y/N's distressed state. Clearly she's extremely worried for her fiancé. How can she not be? Seulgi is insanely worried for Hoseok. Where is he? Is he okay? They don't have their comms, so they can't check in with them. Great, today's going well so far. Red sky, separated from their lovers, the Moonchild is gone, Baekhyun missing and injured. What's next? Seulgi doesn't even want to think about something being 'next'. All she can hope for is that no one else gets hurt.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Y/N suddenly says.

Seulgi takes a moment to stare at her in confusion, then nods. "Of course, what's up?"

"Walk with me?" Seulgi nods again, going with Y/N down the road towards Sapphire and Anya's position. "I know this is hardly the time or place to ask something like this, but I think we both need a spirit booster." Alright, it's safe to say Seulgi is extremely confused now.

"What's wrong? Do I need to beat someone up? I'll gladly do that. Did someone look at you funny and needs a talking to? Did-"

"Will you be my maid of honor?" Y/N interrupts, causing Seulgi to trip. She manages to get back on her feet, but she still stops moving, whipping around to look at the girl.

"What did you just say?" she asks, bewildered.

Y/N gets shy, fiddling with her fingers. "Will you be my maid of honor?" Seulgi blinks a few times, her heart thumping against her chest before she lets out a high pitched squeal.

"Fuck yes I will!" she shouts, jumping forward to hug the shit out of Y/N. She laughs, hugging her back.

"Thank you," she whispers, causing Seulgi to giggle.

"I should be thanking you!" she says, bouncing up and down slightly. "Oh my God I'm your maid of honor. You chose me over Jin!"

"Literally in what world would I choose Jin?"

"I thought you would!"

"Oh my God Kang Seulgi," Y/N lets out, exasperated. After a few more seconds of hugging, she pulls back and meets Y/N's eyes. "You're more than my best friend, you know that?" Y/N whisper-asks.

Seulgi chuckles. "I'm your maid of honor, so yeah I got the impression."

Y/N playfully rolls her eyes. "You're ridiculous. I meant you're my sister. You're my family. Honestly, you're..." She trails off for a moment, sucking in a deep breath. "When Jasmine... when she..." She pauses to form her words. "I thought I didn't have family left. I thought that maybe Jungkook is family, but other than that, I had no one. You showed me how wrong I was. You're my sister. Actually, more than that, if that's even possible. I was never alone. How could I ever be alone when I have you?"

Seulgi sniffles, tearing up. "Shut the fuck up before I cry, L/N."

Y/N laughs. "Come here, Kang." They hug again, this time shorter. When Seulgi pulls back, Y/N offers her her hand.

"Let's go find our boys," Seul says. Y/N nods, determined. Classic Y/N, always determined. The two of them meet up with Anya and Sapphire, increasing their pace to a jog as they make their way down the street. The boys obviously had a big head start, so rushing is the best option the girls have right now.

"Watch out!" Sapphire says, shooting to the left. Seulgi yelps, turning to see four Martians there, but Sapphire just downed one of them. Three left. Sapphire doesn't give two fucks, she shoots three more times, hitting all three shots somehow.

"What the fuck?" Seulgi asks, turning to face Sapphire.

She shrugs. "Uh... training?" Y/N and Seulgi stand there, staring at Sapphire in shock while Anya shakes her head.

"Her father was a marksman," Anya says. "When he passed-"

"I took it up," Sapphire quietly mumbles, interrupting her friend.

Seulgi and Y/N slowly nod in understanding, choosing not to press. Without another word, Sapphire starts off again. The other three - although confused - follow her. "I've never seen her like this, don't ask me," Anya quietly says. Seulgi has never been more grateful that Sapphire is on their side.

"Is it because of Yoongi?" Y/N asks.

Anya gazes at Sapphire, observing the girl's every move. "Honestly? I think so. Sapphire isn't the type to get caught up over a boy, but Yoongi seems special to her. Really special." Y/N and Seulgi nod in understanding. "You know, her last relationship was with a boy who cheated on her. Crazy, right? Who would cheat on Sapphire? She's talented, smart, pretty... yet he broke her trust. But with Yoongi it's like none of that even mattered. She went to him so easily. They just fit so well together."

"You and her have been through a lot together, huh?" Seulgi asks, and Anya chuckles.

"You'd think being researchers on Ganymede would lead to a quiet life, not that much drama. But nope, somehow Saph and I managed to get caught up in a lot of it. Relationships, they can never be easy, can they?" Anya says with a sigh. Seulgi and Y/N shrug, agreeing with her. Relationships always have their ups and downs. The most important thing is to remember the love it was built on. That's how Hoseok and Seulgi always survive any disputes they have.

The three catch up with Sapphire, turning down another street, surprised to see a deactivated tank there. Seulgi's eyes widen, looking over the sight. There's a whole bunch of dead Martians around, blood pouring everywhere. Y/N walks to the center of the area, kneeling and picking up a small device. "Oh my God," she says with a gag, coughing and dropping the thing.

"What is it?" Seulgi asks, coming over to her.

"J-Jimin's comm," she says, pointing at the thing covered with blood.

Seulgi picks it up. "Are we sure it's Jimin's?"

Y/N grabs it, turning the thing over. "Look." Engraved in the back is a date, but it means nothing to Seulgi. "The date we got together," Y/N murmurs.

Seulgi's face falls. "Oh God." Y/N puts the broken comm in her pocket, sniffling as she stands, but they're interrupted.

"Park Jimin is dead!"

At the voice calling out to them, everyone jumps and turns towards it, seeing a lone Martian there. He's sitting, his back against the side of a car, blood pouring out of his stomach. He was shot, so he doesn't have much time left.

"Excuse me?" Y/N asks, slowly walking towards him. Seulgi searches the area, seeing several weapons lying around. She grabs one as Y/N talks to him.

"I shot him! I shot the comm off his wrist! I watched him bleed to death!" he shouts in a cheer, smiling brightly. Seulgi grabs a pipe from off the ground, going over to Y/N. She holds it out to the girl, encouraging her. Y/N peers at it as if it's foreign. Then, she takes it, anger flaring up in her eyes. "His little crew tried so hard to save him, but it didn't work!" he adds in a taunting tone. Y/N glares at him, her grip tightening on the pipe.

This is gonna get messy.

~15:25~

You pace back and forth, looking at the terrain as the sole Martian survivor sits there, laughing at you. "I killed Park Jimin~" he says in a singing tone, causing you to grit your teeth.

"You're lying. I don't see a body."

"They took him with them! You should have seen the looks on their faces!"

"How do you know he's dead?" you ask, tears burning at your eyes.

"They tried transferring blood, but it didn't work. I saw the way their faces fell!"

"Did they actually say he was dead?" You fear the answer, but it's a question you have to ask.

"They didn't need to. I saw it in the way the tall boy carried him away without a word. They were all crying, gathering around him."

You stop pacing, standing directly across from the man. "You shot him?"

"Fatally," the man replies with a smile that makes your guts churn.

You slowly nod, your entire body numb. "He's dead?" you ask.

He hums. "Commander Park Jimin is dead."

You stare for a few moments before walking forward, kneeling right in front of him. "I hate killing, did you know that?" The man shakes his head. "I've hated it my entire life, and now I'm stuck in a war with constant killing and death. Do you know how that made me feel?" He stays quiet. "I had nightmares every night, I'd wake up in cold sweats hating myself for killing, I'd never forgive myself for taking human life, even in self defense..." You trail off, squeezing the pipe in your hand. "But this?" you whisper, slightly scoffing, "I'm gonna enjoy it."

Without another word you unleash hell on the man, hitting him in places you've never hit anyone before. You take your time, making sure not to hit his head yet. You go for his arms, legs, balls... then, his wound. You press the pipe against it, him hollering in pain as you glare at him. "You killed him?" He nods, panting. You press harder into the injury, making him scream, tears running down his face but you don't care.

None of the other girls move to stop you, they just let you do your thing. You take a step back after a few seconds, letting him recover. He won't survive much longer, he's bleeding out. You trek back and forth, sniffling. "You killed my fiancé?"

He nods again. "And I fucking enjoyed it you piece of shi-" You whack him in the head with the pipe as hard as you can, him gurgling as soon as it makes contact.

He shakily looks up, blood pouring down his face. You don't even speak, you just hit him again. That blow kills him, breaking his skull. You raise your hands, about to go again when Anya practically tackles you. "Stop Y/N! Stop!" she pleads, causing you to break down. The realization hits you in full, the pipe slipping out of your hands as you fall to the ground, heaving.

"N-No... no..." you whimper, the pain of losing Jimin finally dawning upon you.

You completely lie back on the dirt, feeling numb. Everything hurts, everything. You don't speak or move, you just stare up at the red sky, crying shamelessly. The sounds leaving your mouth are the only audible noises in the area, the other three girls are dead silent, sitting with you. Seulgi slumps to the ground, placing a hand over her mouth as she quietly cries, squeezing her eyes shut. You bite back your screams, trying not to faint.

"Min..." you whisper, lying on your side. You peer at your engagement ring, your hands shaking like crazy. He's gone. Your husband is gone. The shock is what hits you first. You're so unsure of how to react that you just lie there, the strength to move leaving you. You're not going anywhere anytime soon, you just stay still, staring out at the space ahead. "Jimin..." you mutter, seeing his smile in your mind. He can't be gone, he can't be. No, that can't be real. Time seems to stop as you stare, the world crumbling away from you, your will to live gone.

"Wait, what the hell?" Seulgi's voice says.

"What?" Anya asks.

"Look..."

As soon as you look up, you see over a dozen Martians turning the corner, all armed to the teeth. The ache you have fills into your mouth, a bile taste washing over your tongue. Well, looks like you're about to get your wish.

Death is on its way.
