PART 3 FINALE 2/2: Young Forever

A/N: Oh my God look at him... he's so beautiful. I'm crying he's so beautiful

This chapter is kind of like a love letter. Last chapter had some major crew moments (cough OT7 BITCHES cough), but this one is like the Avengers: Endgame of this story. The moments you've all been waiting for... all the crew members are badass as fuck in this chapter and you're not ready for it.

Jungkook in this chapter >>>>>>>>

PART 3 FINALE: 2/2

~15:34~

Jungkook frowns, carrying Jimin's weightless body in his arms. The crew's trudging forward, not talking, their heads down. He's been leading them down this road for several minutes now, but he isn't sure where else to go. So, he sighs. "Let's stop here," Jungkook says. Although confused, everyone quickly agrees, finding a spot to sit and plopping down.

Jungkook pulls up his map, looking over the terrain even with Jimin in his arms. "Tae, a little help?" His husband walks over, taking Jimin's body instead. Jungkook peers over the map, thanking his husband as he stares, absorbing all the data.

"What do you think?" Tae whisper-asks.

Jungkook shakes his head. "Well, it's not like we're in a rush anymore." He pauses to motion to Jimin's pale form. "I think we should rest for a moment, my hip is still hurting like crazy."

Taehyung frowns. "You should let me carry him from now on."

"I... I want to carry him," Jungkook weakly mumbles. He really, really wants to carry his Captain to safety. Speaking of Captains, Namjoon isn't too far away. He's the only crewmate standing, glancing around the road. "Joon," Jungkook calls, still amazed that he even can call out to the man. Namjoon turns, raising a brow. "Can we talk?"

Namjoon comes over and nods, kneeling in front of Jungkook. The Executive takes a few moments to compose himself, then lets out a breath. "I let you go. I thought I... why are you here? How are you here?"

"You needed help, how could I not come back and help you?"

"But... how?"

"I may not be able to physically do anything for you anymore, but I'll always be here watching over you." Namjoon reaches out, almost as if wanting to touch Jungkook, but he knows he can't. "You may have let me go, but I'll never let you guys go." He motions to Yoongi and Tae. "Even the ones I didn't personally know. I'll always look out for you."

Tae's eyes soften as Namjoon directly addresses him. "Thank you for taking care of my son. You're a good man, Jeon Taehyung. There's no one better for Jungkook than you." Well fuck, now Jungkook's crying. Namjoon peeks down at Jimin, a frown on his face. Jungkook brushes a strand of Jimin's blond hair out of his face, gazing at Jimin's pale, sweaty skin.

"Please hold on. Just a little longer," Jungkook pleads.

"He should be stable, the blood Yoongi gave him should at least hold him over until he gets proper treatment. I just hope the wound doesn't start bleeding again," Hoseok says, placing a hand on Jimin's forehead. "He's burning up though. He might have an infection."

"That's the last thing he needs," Yoongi grumbles.

"It's not like there's many hospitals around. Should we turn back and get to the military tower?" Jin asks.

"There's Martians swarming that sector, but maybe it's worth a try," Jungkook says.

"The military tower," Hoseok mumbles before bringing his comm up to his lips.

"Hobi," Jungkook sadly says, but Hoseok ignores him to press on the comm.

"Seul, come in." Dead silence. They already tried contacting their teammates, but they all got the same thing. Dead silence. All their comms are broken. Regardless, Hoseok keeps trying. Jungkook admires his effort but knows nothing will come of that.

The group of boys mentally decide to stand, trekking in the opposite direction. "It's Jimin's only chance. Jungkook, keep an eye on his pulse. If it starts to drop, let me know, he might need more blood. Yoongi, how are you feeling?" Hoseok asks.

"Exhausted."

"Hopefully you won't need to give more blood, but just in case be ready."

Yoongi manages to nod. "Anything for our Captain."

Everyone moves together for several minutes, slightly faster than they were moving before. Soon enough, they hear gunshots, causing everyone to go still. "Well, what are we waiting for? Move out! Taehyung get behind us, keep Jimin safe!" Jungkook shouts.

"On it Capt'," Tae calls, doing as Jungkook says. Ah great, Jungkook's the Captain again. Great, that's exactly what he needed today.

They see the tank they were at before, the thing deactivated, but what surprises Jungkook most is that there's four people hiding behind it. The girls. "Y/N!" Jungkook yells, the gunfire whizzing past the tank.

Y/N turns her head, eyes widening. "Bunny!"

Jungkook runs over to her, turning to the crew momentarily. "Take cover! We won the last fight, we're winning this one too!" The crew obeys, getting their weapons ready. "Remember what I told you, Tae!" Jungkook says to his husband.

"On it!" Tae says back.

Jungkook kneels next to Y/N, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. Jesus, she's looked better. Her eyes are bloodshot, her skin sweaty and sticky, her body shaking. "There aren't many left, we've been at this for a few minutes now," she says, clearly not exactly here. Her mind is elsewhere right now. Her eyes are searching over the boys, her frown only increasing.

A bullet bounces off the tank, making Jungkook yelp and nearly fall over. He groans, holding his hip as the pain shoots through him. "You're hurt," Y/N whispers, placing a hand over Jungkook's injury.

"It'll heal," Jungkook grumbles. "Let's kill the Martians, then we can give you the report." She nods, a hint of fear in her eyes as she holds her AR close to her body, preparing to fire again.

Hoseok guns down two Martians with Yoongi, the pair going at it. Jungkook watches in awe as the two rush forward, eager to finish this fight. Half of Jungkook wants to tell them to slow down, the other half just watches as Yoongi and Hoseok work as a team to take out the remaining Martians. They toss ammo to each other, Hoseok reloading while Yoongi fires, then Hoseok firing while Yoongi reloads. It's honestly kind of entertaining to watch.

As soon as the last Martian falls due to Yoongi and Hoseok's effort, the crew takes a few deep breaths. Jin comes running over to Anya, sweeping the girl up in his arms. "I was so worried," Jin murmurs, Anya hugging him back tightly. Jungkook turns to Y/N, but her eyes are wide, her jaw dropped. Jungkook shifts to see where she's looking, watching as Tae approaches, Jimin's limp body in his arms.

"Jimin!" she shouts, running towards Tae.

"Y/N!" Jungkook calls, running after her.

"N-No, Jimin. No, no, please this can't be happening," she says, slowing to a stop.

"Y/N, hey, sweetheart please calm down."

"How can I be calm?" she desperately asks.

"He's stable," Jungkook blurts out.

She goes still, slowly turning to look at him. "He's alive?"

Jungkook lets out a breath. "Yes, he's alive." For some reason, the words comfort even Jungkook as he says them. "We need to get him to the military tower as fast as possible, he needs meds and he needs them fast."

She places a hand on Jimin's cheek, brushing over his skin. "Hang in there, baby boy. We'll get you out of this."

"It's a straight shot from here to there, we just need to get him there in one piece. We don't know how many Martians are in the way," Jungkook says.

"We're about to find out," Y/N replies as the others gather round.

Seulgi's lower lip quivers, her shoulders slump. "I'm sorry I split us up. It really cost us," she says in a mutter.

"Don't be sorry, you had good intentions. I know you thought that the fewer the people, the easier it would be to slip around the Martians," Jungkook says, then, he pauses and counts the crewmembers. "Um, I know my math has never been good, but we're missing people. Where's Baekhyun and Jace?" Jungkook asks. Instantly, all the girls go quiet.

"Oh no," Yoongi mutters.

"Jace was a traitor," Seulgi says.

Hoseok rushes up to her, wrapping an arm around her side. "It wasn't your fault. Don't blame yourself, please?" he asks. She looks at him, deciding against answering.

"And Baekhyun?" Jin asks.

"He got shot. We got captured by Martians and split up. We actually just got back to the surface," Y/N explains.

"Wait, they took you up there?!" Jungkook asks in disbelief, pointing to the sky. The girls nod, leaving all the boys shocked.

"We rammed a battleship into their main weapon. Hopefully that turned the tide," Y/N says.

"Are you kidding? That probably won the battle in the sky, now it's on the ground," Jungkook replies.

"Does anyone know where Clementine is?" Yoongi asks. The girls shake their heads.

"If we get Clementine, Mars has no leaders left. It'll mean the end of the war," Sapphire says, causing the others to nod in agreement.

Yoongi, Jin, and Hoseok are right by their girls, meanwhile Y/N is staring at Jimin as if her stares will wake him up. "He was thinking of you the entire time," Jungkook says to her as they start their hike. She nods, sniffling before focusing on the trek. The journey quickly turns into a jog. It's not far, so the jog should help, but there could still be Martians on the way. Hopefully they don't run into too many if they do.

"I'm guessing no one got a comm from Mr. Blaine?" Sapphire asks.

"Not a peep. I'm guessing he's fighting," Hoseok replies.

"Where the hell is the Earth military?" Anya mumbles, shaking her head. Jungkook can't help but ask the same question. Where are they? Are they in the city? That's where a lot of the Martians seemed to went, although Jungkook's sure most of them landed in Binghamton and London. That's where the leaders are, so that's probably where the Martians want to be, especially after Jungkook, Jimin, and Y/N took out their leaders.

"The military tower is approximately five minutes away if we keep up this pace," Seulgi says, looking at her map.

"Let's make it three, come on, keep moving," Jungkook says. Everyone is quick to obey. Jungkook has a searing pain in his hip as he moves, but does he care? Hell no. Jimin is much more important right now. If Jimin survives, so can Jungkook.

The crew moves together for several more minutes, but as soon as they approach the military tower, they see a group of Martians coming close to it. "Keep moving! Saph and I got this!" Yoongi shouts, tossing a pistol to her. She easily catches it, taking her other pistol and bringing it forward. Great, Sapphire has two pistols. Who the fuck gave the angry woman two pistols? Well, Yoongi did, but that was probably a bad idea. Or the best one ever.

"Go left, I'll go right," Sapphire says, Yoongi nodding in agreement. They split off, Sapphire flanking them. The Martians have their backs turned, and there's only about five of them, so it's safe to say Yoongi and Sapphire take them by surprise. They fire, taking out three almost instantly, shooting the other two in the legs. They fall over and scream with pain, Yoongi and Sapphire running forward. They quickly execute the two on their knees, looking at each other with smug smiles. Almost as if running on the same brain cell, they fist bump, leaving Jungkook speechless. Well, looks like Yoongi and Sapphire have an interesting definition of the phrase 'couple goals'.

Regardless, Sapphire opens the door for them, allowing them to go inside. However, Tae hands Jimin to Hoseok, who, though confused, takes him. "We need someone to guard out front, and I'm one of the best shots you have," Tae says.

Jungkook's hesitant but eventually nods. "Fine. You, Jin, and Anya stay out. Sapphire and Yoongi, you wait in the lobby in case they get past those three. Everyone else, with me."

Everyone is quick to follow Jungkook's orders, moving in their assigned groups. Y/N stays right next to Jimin, peering at his frail form. Jungkook honestly feels bad for her. How can he not? He's already worried enough about his brother, but Y/N is his damn fiancée. He can't imagine how she feels right now. As if she doesn't look horrible enough from the events of the day, but now she has to deal with this.

They make it inside, greeted by Earth military pointing their weapons up at them. "Help! Please! Commander Park is hurt!" Jungkook calls. The military men lower their weapons, Sapphire and Yoongi joining them in the lobby to help protect it. Soon enough, they're being led away. Jungkook follows, Hoseok increasing his pace despite carrying a whole man. Granted, Jimin isn't that heavy, especially when he's lost a lot of blood, but still.

"Right in here," one of the men says, opening a door for them. They enter, a doctor taking care of another patient inside. It's a small room, clearly meant for higher ups. There's only four beds, one of them consisting of a man, the other three vacant.

"Who the hell is that?" Jungkook asks Seulgi, who scoffs.

"Admiral Eli. Looks like things didn't work out down here too well."

"I'm sorry, do we know him?" Jungkook asks.

"You, Jimin, and Y/N don't, but the rest of the crew does. Some power hungry asshole who wanted to control us. Sapphire, Yoons, and Tae put him in his place."

"That's my crew," Jungkook proudly replies, watching as Hoseok places Jimin on one of the beds.

"What happened to him?" the doctor asks, coming over and inspecting Jimin's wrist.

"He was shot. We gave him blood and bandaged him, but his body still seems to be weak, maybe an infection," Hoseok explains.

The doctor motions to Jungkook. "I see your hip. Sit." Jungkook reluctantly does as he's told, plopping down on the bed next to Jimin. The doctor observes Jimin. "I agree, I think he has an infection. There's medicine in the cabinets. You're a medic?" Hoseok firmly nods. "Get medicine for your friend, I'll get it for Commander Park. Follow me."

Together, the two rifle through the cabinets, the doctor grabbing multiple things while Hoseok just grabs one. He comes over to Jungkook, handing the pill bottle to him. "Very, very strong painkillers," Hoseok says.

"How strong we talking?"

"Stronger than you on enhancements."

Jungkook's eyes almost pop out of their sockets. "Shit."

"Take them, you'll need them to get through this fight. Two." Jungkook nods his thanks, doing as he's told. He can barely get the top of the bottle off, but he manages, popping two in his mouth and dry swallowing them. It hurts to do, but he knows he has to.

"Here, L/N, you need to change out of that crappy jumpsuit, I have some standard issue shirts and pants," the doctor says, pointing to the cabinets. "Put them on then your armor." She peeks at her broken armor, letting out a huff before grabbing the clothes behind the cabinets. As soon as she's all changed, Jungkook hears chaos outside.

The door bursts open, revealing a panting Sapphire and Yoongi. "We're under attack! We need all the backup possible!" Sapphire calls. Jungkook jumps up, the doctor and Hoseok instantly protesting.

"Taehyung is out there," Jungkook says in a grumble, storming right past them and drawing his AR forward. The others nod in agreement, and although Y/N clearly wants to stay with Jimin, she follows Jungkook out of the room.

There's Martians in the lobby, firing away at the Earth military, but the crew joining the fight turns the tide. What went from an even battle goes to Earth outnumbering Mars by a lot, so the fight ends as quickly as it began. Jungkook searches the room, his heart stopping. He glares at Sapphire and Yoongi. "Where the fuck is my husband?" Jungkook asks.

Yoongi trembles as he scans the room. "I don't know."

Jungkook rushes outside, looking around the area desperately. "Tae!" he shouts, but there's no response. "Tae!" he repeats, louder. Again, nothing. "No no no, this can't be happening. I was gone for two fucking minutes!" He kicks the ground, pacing back and forth. The only good news: no bodies. Jin, Anya, and Tae are gone. Yoongi comes rushing out, looking for Tae as well.

"Where's Tae Tae?" Yoongi mutters, knowing that Jungkook doesn't have an answer.

Jungkook grits his teeth, going for his comm. Jungkook wants to activate it, to ask where he is, but his instinct is telling him that Tae's in trouble. If Jungkook tries to talk to him, it'll reveal Tae's location to the enemy. So, he decides against speaking. Instead, he gets to work on tracking. His training as an Intelligence Officer really paid off, seeing as he's able to get a read on Tae's location. He's moving fast. He must be in a vehicle or something.

Two military men rush out to join them, glancing at Jungkook. "What is it, sir?" Oh, that's right, Jungkook is acting Captain of the Moonchild, so he kind of runs the show in Jimin's place.

"My husband is missing, but I know where he is."

"Why would they take him, sir?" one of them asks.

"Good question," he grumbles, looking at his comm. "Are there any cars left?" They shake their heads.

"Mr. Blaine has his motorcycle, sir. That's about it."

"Is Mr. Blaine here?"

"No sir, he's been MIA for a while now." Jungkook slowly nods, Yoongi coming forward.

"You can't, you're injured," Yoongi says before Jungkook can even part his lips.

"Tell Seulgi her and Hoseok are in charge now," Jungkook replies, reloading his AR and pistol. "Give me the keys to his ride." Although confused, the soldiers nod and rush off to find them.

"Jungkook, you got shot. You're barely standing-"

"And my husband is out there, kidnapped by Martians for God knows why. Every second I wait is another second he's more likely to be dead," Jungkook interrupts, glaring right at Yoongi. "Get in there and follow Seulgi's orders." Jungkook swings his AR around his shoulder once it's fully loaded, poking his tongue against his cheek.

"Tell them I'm going to find my fucking husband."

~16:03~

Jin kneels, looking for a way out. "Any idea why we're here?" Anya asks.

Jin shakes his head. "I wish I knew the answer. Tae was smarter than us, that's for sure, slipping his comm in his back pocket." Jin pauses for a moment, looking at Anya. "Someone will come for us. They'll track Tae."

"Only problem with that is, where the fuck is Tae?" Anya asks. Jin doesn't have an answer either, so he keeps his mouth shut.

The military tower is a hot target for Martians, seeing as they stormed it almost immediately after Jungkook and the rest of the crew went back inside. For some reason they took them and put them in a truck. There was a bunch of Earth men in there, all tied up. Jin and Anya are in what looks like a camp, metal fences surrounding them. It seems like it was just set up an hour ago, several Martian soldiers surrounding the area.

Jin and Anya are alone in this area, so this must be one of the more important sections. There's Martian patrols, two guards right outside, but they're talking on their comms. "How do we get out of here?" Jin mutters, mostly to himself.

"There has to be a weakness in the fence, it looks like it was put up in five minutes," Anya replies.

Jin nods in agreement. "How do we get out and past the guards?"

"Hope there's a hole we can manipulate and you cover me. I'll take them out."

"You'll take both guards out?" Jin asks in disbelief. Anya gives him a sly smirk before moving down the fence, playing with it.

"It's weakly built, do you have anything that they didn't take away?"

Jin searches himself but finds nothing. "They took everything, even my screwdriver," Jin says.

"Oh no, not the screwdriver," Anya sarcastically replies, pulling on one section of the fence.

"Ha," Jin blankly says, kneeling next to her.

"Even for a fence that feels like it was built in an hour, it's pretty sturdy." She gives up, plopping on the ground. "I guess all we can do is wait."

Jin gazes at her pretty side profile, resisting the urge to close the gap and kiss her. In a situation like this, he doubts kissing will solve anything. "Kiss me," Anya whispers, sensing his thoughts. Well shit, why the fuck not? Jin leans forward, brushing his hand across her jaw. She tilts her head towards him, the two locking eyes. He takes a moment, then softly kisses her. Their lips mold together, the kiss almost like a goodbye.

When they break apart, Anya sniffles. "I'm sorry we didn't get to see our future," Anya mumbles.

"Hey, don't say that, we still have a fighting chance. Anya Forester and Kim Seokjin? No one can stop them, let's be honest," Jin replies, trying to cheer her up. She gives him the best smile she can manage, nodding.

"Alright, I'll have a little bit of hope, but only a little."

"Taehyung wouldn't leave us. If someone finds him, they'll come looking for us," Jin says.

"Jin, no offense, but he wouldn't leave me. I don't know about you though. How many times has your own crew threatened to blast you out an escape pod?"

Jin chuckles. "I really hope they didn't mean it. Plus, you wouldn't leave me, right?" Anya winks, turning and going to the other side of the fence. Jin gulps. "Right?!" She doesn't reply, she only smirks as she observes the fence again, pushing on all the points. Jin decides to drop the topic, coming over to join her.

She points to the links on the fence. "These sections are weaker than the others, but not weak enough to burst through. We'll need time to get them-"

'Bam!'

Jin jumps at the sound of gunfire, him and Anya whipping around in time to see one of the guards outside their cell on the ground. The other gets rammed into, a male figure knocking the guard on his ass. It's Jungkook. Jin stares in astonishment as the guard groans, Jungkook standing above him triumphantly. Jungkook reloads his pistol as the guard struggles to stand, Jungkook taking his time as he places the mag inside. As soon as it's loaded, he fires once, hitting the guard in the head.

"Kook? What are you doing here?" Jin asks.

"Saving our asses, obviously," Anya whispers to Jin. Jungkook lets out a few breaths, then, he turns his head. Jin feels all his air leave his body. Actually, more than that. It's like for a full minute, the world stops spinning. Jungkook is here, coming to rescue them, but he's not right. He's different, and Jin isn't sure if it's in a good way or not.

Jungkook's eyes are red.

"I'm here to save my fucking husband," Jungkook says in a low tone that Jin doesn't recognize, ripping the lock off the door. It falls uselessly to the ground, the door opening.

"What the fuck," Anya mutters, her eyes wide. That's what really surprises Jin. Anya doesn't curse that much, let alone the f word. When the scientist is cursing, that's how you know it's going down for real. "How are your eyes... how?" Anya asks, standing and approaching him.

"We can inspect my body later. For now, I want to find Tae." Jungkook shows them his comm. "Tae's close. Get out of here as fast as possible, make it back to the military tower if you can. Hotwire a car. Jin, you're an engineer, so you can do that right?"

"Probably."

Anya harshly nudges his elbow. "You're basing our survival on a probably?!"

"Probably is better than a maybe!" Jin says.

"I don't have time for this. Get out of here and get out of here fast, make it to the military tower. Track Hoseok's comm if you have to. Do you know how to do that?" Jungkook asks.

"No and it doesn't matter anyway, I don't have a comm," Jin says.

Jungkook grits his teeth, ripping a comm off of one of the fallen guards. He fiddles with it, motioning to Jin and Anya. "Get their weapons, you'll need them." Jin is quick to obey, grabbing an AR and pistol for both him and Anya. He grabs some ammo, strapping it to his now-empty utility belt.

"I can't get this one to work, I don't remember Hoseok's frequency off the top of my head. Not that it matters, Martians are assholes with different tech than us." He tosses the comm to the ground, taking off his. "Keep my comm safe," Jungkook says, switching it to Hoseok's frequency, tracking it.

"Wait, how will you find Tae?" Anya asks as Jungkook hands them his comm. Jin takes it, strapping it around his wrist as Jungkook glares at them.

"He's my husband. I'll burn down this entire fucking place to find him. Don't worry about me, just get out of here."

Jin and Anya share a look, then nod. "Be careful, okay?" Anya says. Jungkook shoots her a smug smile before turning, clicking the safety off to his AR as he swings it forward, rushing forward. Well, Jeon Jungkook is about to go kick some Martian ass. Part of Jin wants to be around for it, the other part wants to get the hell out of here. So, he listens to his rational half and leads Anya in the opposite direction.

As soon as they start down the cold ground, more Martians come into view. Jin clicks off his safety, firing away. There was only five, and since they had the jump on them, they downed them easily. First group of Martians gone. "This way," Jin says, guiding Anya to the left.

"How do you know?"

"I'm following the tracker," Jin replies, looking at his beeping comm.

"You can read that?"

"Barely. I don't know what half of it means, all I know is left, right, and dead ahead. Right now, it's telling me left."

Anya doesn't question it as they burst through to a clearing, a whole bunch of cells in the corners of the area. There's no guards in this sector. Jungkook must have taken care of them. "We can't let these people die," Anya says.

"That's what I was thinking, but how do we unlock them? We don't have the keys and we sure as hell don't have Jungkook's strength. What was up with that, by the way?"

"If I knew the answer to that, I'd tell you."

"Hypothesis?" Jin asks.

"That's a big word for you. I'd guess that some of his enhancements are still in his system, but not enough to be there permanently. Only in moments where his adrenaline is at its peak. This is obviously one of those moments."

"So does that mean you could have remnants of them?"

Anya shakes her head. "I highly doubt it. Jungkook had them for years, I had them for months."

Jin nods in understanding, seeing several fallen guards in the center of the area. "Grenades," he mumbles, rushing towards them.

"What?" Anya asks, rushing over with him.

"Grenades. Look, if we throw them towards the cells, they'll open."

"We need to get the people out of the way."

"I'm sure they'll be fine with that," Jin replies, gathering as many grenades as possible. Ten. There's eight cells full of people. Perfect. "Everyone! I need you to stand back! Get to the corner of your cells! We're blowing these bitches open!" Jin calls. Anya double checks to make sure they don't have any keys, then comes over to them.

"None of them have even a single key, looks like the grenade plan will have to do."

"Guards don't have keys," Jin says in disapproval.

"I'm guessing there's a few master keys around, but that's about it. We'd have to find a leader for that." Jin nods, checking the grenades before zooming over to the first cell.

"Honey, please stay back," Jin says.

"On it," she replies, staying in the center of the area. Jin activates the grenade once he sees the people away from the cell. He drops it right in front of the door, sprinting away and practically diving to Anya's position just as the explosion goes off. It wasn't too big of an explosion (thank God). It took out the door and some of the ground, so it works out.

The prisoners rush out, thanking Jin for his work as they come over, taking ARs from the fallen guards. "Earth soldiers?" Jin asks the closest one.

He nods. "Earth soldiers. We're in your debt." Jin stares at the grenades, then their ARs. Anya gives him a knowing look, then a firm 'I agree with you' nod as if reading his mind. Jin turns back to the man closest to him, handing him a grenade. Jungkook needs to find Tae, right? Might as well distract the other guards, and Jin has the perfect plan for that.

"So... how do you feel about starting a riot?"

~16:10~

"I-I don't know where he is!"

Jungkook slams the man's head into the wall again, making him whimper and cry in pain. "Where the fuck is he?!" Jungkook shouts. The man trembles, staring at Jungkook with his eyes bulging from his skull. "You know what? I don't have time for this." Jungkook lets go of the man's hair, letting him slide to the floor, blood dripping down his face. Jungkook treks away, shooting the man in the head with his pistol as he does. Does he care? No. The only thing that matters is Taehyung. He'll always be the only thing that matters.

He bursts out of the command center, glancing around at the chaos. Jin and Anya must have wrecked havoc seeing as all the Martians are heading in one direction: the direction Jungkook came from. He's not complaining. He goes down the way he hasn't explored yet. Everyone's in too big a panic to stop him, plus, with the setting sun, no one recognizes him. Everything is going too fast for anyone to. Looks like things are finally turning in his favor.

Jungkook desperately searches the cells on his left and right as he traverses down the narrow corridor, metal fences on either side of him. He doesn't see any familiar faces. "Tae! Taehyung!" he yells, cupping his hands over his mouth. "Tae!" he tries, but again, no answer. He turns right, rubbing his hands together while he picks up his pace, his body shivering despite it not being cold.

Again, no sign of Taehyung. Jungkook swings his AR forward, increasing his pace. He doesn't even break a sweat when he sprints, the air entering his lungs almost burning him as he locates the next batch of cells. "Tae!" Jungkook yells. He slows his pace, glancing around at the cells full of people. "Tae," he murmurs, searching and searching but to no avail. When he thought he'd find nothing, his ears faintly pick up a scream from the distance.

"Jungkook!"

Jungkook instantly goes to action, running at full speed down the road, the dirt beneath him flying off his shoes as he goes. That scream sounded exactly like Taehyung. Whatever's happening to his body right now must be because of his enhancements, but he's not complaining. Right now, he's stronger and faster than ever before, and he has his enhanced hearing. He doesn't care if it hurts him: he needs to find Tae.

"Jungkook!" That one was closer. Jungkook keeps going, turning until he reaches a clearing. He's surprised to see a bunch of people being lined up, fires started, the setting sun illuminating the space. There's several Martian guards there, standing across from the people lined up, holding ARs. Something Jungkook also notices: there's a camera in the center. Oh gosh, are they killing people and broadcasting it? Are they this sick? Jungkook's eyes scan over the crowd, and that's when he sees him.

Taehyung.

Tae's enhancements are shining as he tries to break free from the rope that binds him, but it doesn't work. Jungkook feels his entire body fill with hatred. His vision turns red, everything halting for a moment. Saving Taehyung is the only thing that matters. It will always be the only thing that matters. So, Jungkook sprints into action just as they're about to execute the prisoners.

"Ready, aim..." Jungkook fires on the Martians, them shocked by the sudden entry. They move to fire back, but Jungkook's speed is too much for them to handle. He rushes forward and downs them all, not caring about the consequences or if there's any lurking in the shadows. As soon as the last Martian falls, Jungkook starts to pant, holding his injured hip. He peers up and sees Taehyung staring at him in shock, Tae's enhancements slowly fading away.

"Jungkook?" he whisper-asks, confusion in his eyes. Jungkook nods, stepping forward. He rips the rope off his husband, the man stumbling forward, falling into Jungkook's arms.

"It's okay. I got you," Jungkook mutters, bringing Tae up against his body.

Taehyung hugs him tightly, sniffling. "H-How. Why?"

"I don't know, and quite frankly, I don't want to know. What matters is getting out of here. I found Jin and Anya, they should be safe. Now it's our turn to leave."

Tae brings his comm out of his back pocket, strapping it around his wrist. "I'm glad you got my message," he whispers.

"I'm glad you were smart enough to hide it," Jungkook whispers back.

When Jungkook pulls away, Taehyung nods. "Alright, let's go, but let's free them first." Jungkook agrees, freeing the other prisoners trapped by rope. As soon as they're all good, Jungkook holds his hand out to Tae, and he takes it.

"Take my pistol, I'll have the AR," Jungkook says. Tae obeys, grabbing Jungkook's pistol with his free hand and clicking off the safety.

"Where do we go?"

"Follow me, we're going back the way I came," Jungkook replies, pulling Taehyung down the path.

"They got him," Tae says.

Jungkook lets out a huff as he guides them across the roads. "Who?"

"The Weapon's Administer. Alex Blaine, they got him."

"Where is he?" Jungkook asks.

"No, he's gone, Kook. They executed him."

Jungkook practically falls over. "What? I thought he was MIA?"

"He was. Apparently they brought him here. I... I watched..."

Jungkook shushes him. "It's okay. What matters is you're safe. We'll figure it out, don't worry," Jungkook says.

"What about Jimin? Who's leading us right now?"

"Seulgi and Hoseok. It's okay, they'll do a good job."

Taehyung sniffles and nods, rushing down the roads with him. Since they're both on their enhancements right now, they're moving pretty quickly. The Martians passing don't seem to notice (or care) about them, clearly more concerned with getting more prisoners to the execution site. Eventually, after a few minutes of running, Jungkook and Tae are shocked to see prisoners rallying, firing on Martian guards.

Jungkook blinks in shock, then, he's even more surprised to see Jin and Anya leading them. Jin guns down a Martian, Anya taking out the one a few feet behind them. They're covering each other's backs, firing constantly. So this is where the Martian guards were all heading to. Did they honestly think they could contain Anya and Jin? Idiots, not even the Moonchild crew can contain them.

"Come on, let's keep moving, looks like Anya and Jin have this covered," Jungkook says.

Taehyung nods. "I agree, but how the hell do we get through them?"

Jungkook sucks in a deep breath. "Jin! Anya!" he shouts. The two look up, surprised to see Jungkook and Taehyung there. They motion for them to come closer, so Jungkook drags his husband through. Together, they make it to the pair, who are still blasting away. "We need to get through, any suggestions?!" Jungkook asks, although he's mostly yelling.

"Follow us! We'll get you through!" Anya yells back.

Jungkook makes sure his AR is loaded before following Jin and Anya through the crowd, them firing on any Martians they see while Jungkook keeps Taehyung near him, ready to take any bullets for the man. "Are you okay?" Tae asks Jungkook, motioning to his gunshot wound from earlier.

"I'll live, it's not bleeding so I'll be fine." Although he's unconvinced, he nods and soon enough, Jin and Anya lead them to safety.

Taehyung and Jungkook pant at the effort, turning to look back at their friends. "Thank you," Jungkook says.

"Go, we'll take care of this mess here. If we get any information on where Clementine is, we'll beam it your way," Anya says.

Jin holds up the comm Jungkook gave them. "Hoseok will be the first to know."

Jungkook nods. "Good job. Are you sure you'll make it out alright?"

Before Jin can answer, a Martian comes charging at them. This one looks beat up, only holding a knife. Anya jumps forward, disarming the man immediately. Just in time too seeing as Jin hits his shot, shooting the man right in the head even over Anya's body holding him down. Jin's a good shot, Jungkook will give him that. Anya blows a strand of hair out of her face, turning to look at Jungkook.

"I think we'll be fine," she replies.

"Yeah I think so too," Tae says, nodding rapidly.

"We'll hotwire one of their cars or trucks, just get out of here and help Seulgi and Hoseok. We'll free all these prisoners and stick on this side, it looks like most of the Martians came to the city," Anya says. That's right, they're close to NYC. Binghamton is rather far from the city, but luckily the trucks and cars and motorcycles they've been given are fast enough to get them there in only minutes. Jungkook almost feels bad about using Mr. Blaine's motorcycle, but he knows deep down the fallen leader would be proud that he's still helping the fight, even after death.

"Be careful," Tae says.

Anya and Jin nod. "You too," Jin replies before turning, bringing him and Anya back into the fight. Jungkook and Tae share a look before running in the opposite direction.

"Come on, this way!" Jungkook says, bringing Tae towards the motorcycle hidden by the nearby trees. He gets there as fast as possible, bringing it forward.

"Helmets?" Tae asks.

"Jeon Taehyung you are absolutely adorable, but do you really think I had time to find helmets for us?"

"Safety first," Tae mumbles, causing Jungkook to chuckle as he starts the vehicle.

"Get on the back, wrap your arms around me," Jungkook says.

"Bossy, I like it-"

"Babe, we're in the middle of a war, we can make sex jokes later."

"Can't blame me for trying," Tae replies, sitting on the back of the bike. He does as Jungkook says, wrapping his arms around his stomach. Just in time too; Jungkook starts the thing and takes off, zooming down the road. "Holy shit!" Taehyung yelps, wobbling but managing to hold on.

The wind brushes by them, blowing their hair back. Jungkook smiles, the gunfire fading away, signaling that they're safe. "Are you holding on tight?" Jungkook asks as they reach the main road, going down it. Jungkook, being an Intelligence Officer, made sure to memorize the way he came. Sometimes his training really does pay off, doesn't it?

"Uh, yeah. Wait why? Oh God, Jeon Jungkook, what are you- AH!" Jungkook presses a button, the bike changing in a heartbeat. "What is that?!"

"Everything's alright, babe. Just hold onto me, okay?" Tae takes a moment, then, he agrees, holding on as tightly as he can. The bike slows its' speed, taking a moment to shift gears. "You really think Mr. Blaine didn't have the money for an advanced bike?" Jungkook asks as the motorcycle completely stops.

"What does that mean?" Tae asks. Jungkook peeks over his shoulder, shooting Taehyung a smirk. "I don't like that look, Jeon."

"No one ever does. I hope you're not scared of heights."

"Wait what?" Before Jungkook can answer, the bike springs upward, going about ten feet in the air. Tae screams, burying his head into Jungkook's back. Jungkook laughs at Tae's expense, watching as the bike hovers above the air.

"Alright, everything's good to go. Ready to fly?" Jungkook asks.

"Are we riding a motorcycle or an airplane?!" Tae asks back.

"Both babe, both. You know how only the upper class citizens can afford a flying car?" Taehyung nods against Jungkook's back. "We're one of them, Tae Tae. Are you ready?" Tae peels his head away from Jungkook's back, looking down at the ground ten feet below them.

"Not in the slightest."

"Good enough for me."

Jungkook flies upwards, Tae yelping at the sudden speed. Jungkook keeps laughing, going higher in the air. He goes about fifty feet up, knowing poor Tae probably can't take much more. Jungkook slows the speed, gazing at the sunset. Tae does the same, the light illuminating their faces. "Wow," Tae mutters.

"Wow is right," Jungkook says. Tae kisses Jungkook's cheek, squeezing him tighter.

"I love you. Thank you for coming back for me."

Jungkook smiles, taking in a deep breath. "I love you too, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat." Jungkook pauses, glancing back at Tae. "Now let's go save our friends."

~16:25~

"This is from twenty minutes ago," one of the men say, showing the hologram on the screen of Mr. Blaine. He's tied to a pole, Martians surrounding him. Soon enough, the bullet comes, and he falls over. Dead.

"Fuck," Hoseok says, gritting his teeth. "That's vile. How can they... how?"

"I don't know," Seulgi mutters.

"They just executed him on live TV. What the fuck?!" Hoseok says, kicking the bottom of the table.

"What now?" Seulgi asks, causing Hoseok to shrug.

"How are we supposed to find Clementine? She was with Jimin not too long ago, right?"

"Right, but how can we track her?" Seulgi asks.

"I wish I had the answer to that, Martian codes are much more complex than Earth ones." Seul holds up one of the comms the Martians invading them had.

"There's thousands of frequencies on here, it'll take days to go through."

"It's worth a try, comm every single one and try it," Hoseok says.

She nods, going through the frequencies and asking if anyone's seen Commander Clementine. Of course, she gets no answers. There are so many Martians in Binghamton, most of which dead thanks to the crew and the Earth military. Despite how down things are looking for tracking the Commander, Seulgi keeps trying. Hoseok can definitely admire her determination. Never giving up is something Seulgi has always been good at.

The doors to the top of the tower burst open, a group of Earth soldiers sprinting in. Hoseok and Seulgi glance up at them. "Report?" Seulgi asks.

"We've pushed the Martians back, we took a few alive. Would you like to interrogate any of them? See if they know where Clementine is?" the first one asks.

"Send Yoongi and Sapphire in, I trust them the most with this kind of stuff. When it comes to interrogations, they're now in charge. You listen to them, got it?" Hoseok asks. The group of soldiers nod. "Hold your positions, I want trackers set up outside. We can't have any more surprises. How are our troops on the field?"

"Good, we're successfully pushing them back, sir. We're hoping to reclaim Binghamton once and for all. The rest of the world is a little messy, we haven't heard any updates from them in a while."

"Thank you. If that changes, let us know immediately. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to find Clementine, we're all ears. Other than that, you're dismissed," Hoseok says.

With one last nod and salute, the soldiers leave as quickly as they came. Hoseok turns back to Seulgi, the higher ups rushing around the room an afterthought as she switches through the frequencies. "Does anyone know where Commander Clementine is?" Seulgi asks the comm.

"Who is this? What's your identification number?" a male voice asks back.

"Suck my dick," Seulgi replies, turning off the comm with a groan. "Do we know what body we got this comm from?"

"I don't remember," Hoseok replies.

"You," Seulgi says, pointing to one of the men rushing around. He stops, standing at attention for his commanding officer. "Go find one of the Martian bodies and bring it up here. We need a comm and identification number."

"Ma'am, those aren't on their armor. It's through memory to prevent this sort of thing," he replies. Seulgi takes a moment, then sighs.

"Go down to the interrogation rooms, have Sapphire and Yoongi interrogate one of the Martians for their identification number and name," Hoseok says. Seulgi looks at him in shock, but he ignores it.

"Right away, sir," the man replies, bowing before leaving to complete his task.

Seulgi and Hoseok lock eyes. "Not a bad plan," Seulgi says.

"It's all we can do right now. I trust Sapphire and Yoongi will go berserk on their asses."

"Should we go down and watch?" Seulgi asks.

Hoseok almost wants to laugh, then, his eyes widen. "You know, that's not a bad idea."

"Wait really?"

"The quicker we get the information from them, the quicker we find Clementine before she moves again. We shouldn't have a messenger telling us this, we should hear it ourselves."

Seulgi nods in agreement, turning to the rest of the room. "Alright listen up!" Everyone stops moving. "Hoseok and I are going to oversee interrogations, if you need anything, comm one of us. If there are any movements or an emergency, you come get us immediately. Understood?"

"Yes ma'am," a chorus of voices call back.

"Good, stay strong, stay safe," she replies, nodding to them before leading Hoseok to the elevator.

They quickly go down it, the seconds ticking by as they reach the third floor, where interrogations take place. They get out of the elevator, glancing around the hallways until they see Sapphire and Yoongi standing outside a door.

"Saph, Yoons," Seulgi calls. They peek up.

"Good, you're here. I just heard you want us to interrogate them for their identification number and name?" Yoongi asks with a head tilt.

"We need to find Clementine, we're hoping that someone from the Martian battlefield knows. If we use their comm to find someone, maybe that person will know where she is," Seulgi says.

Sapphire nods. "And... what can and can't we do?"

"What do you mean?" Hoseok asks.

"Is there any limit to how hard we go on them?"

"We need to end this war, and the only way to do so is killing their last leader. You have my permission to do whatever you want. I'll take full responsibility and any consequences for your actions," Seulgi replies. Sapphire and Yoongi seem scared for a moment, then agree.

"Let's go in then," Sapphire says. Together, the four of them enter the interrogation room. It's set up like any other, a front room with one-way glass, a door in the corner to the main room.

"Good cop bad cop?" Hoseok asks.

"Huh?" Yoongi asks back, Sapphire looking equally confused.

"They're not Earthlings, remember?" Seulgi tells Hoseok with a small chuckle.

"Ah, right, Yoongi's never seen a movie and neither of them know Earth expressions."

"Oh shush, you don't know Ganymede expressions," Sapphire replies, sticking her tongue out at them.

"As much as I'd love to hear the expressions from Ganymede, we don't have much time. The longer we wait, the more likely Clementine gets the jump on us," Seulgi interrupts. Sapphire and Yoongi nod in-sync.

"You two stay out here, let me get his comm," Sapphire says. She wordlessly goes over to the table placed in front of the one-way window, a bin on top of the wooden structure. "Here, his comm is here," she says, bringing it out of the evidence bin.

Seulgi takes it, handing the thing to Hoseok. "It's a guy," she says, and he nods.

"Alright, we'll go in, rough him up a bit, get what you need," Sapphire says.

"Good luck," Hoseok replies, giving them one last nod before they enter. They make sure to close the door behind them, approaching the man handcuffed to the table. He glances up, his tan skin shimmering under the light. It seems like all Martians are tan, Hoseok can't help but wonder why. Out in the outer rim, most people are pale due to the lack of sun. Maybe that has something to do with it; maybe the Martians have an artificial sun in their domes or something. It's not like they're any closer to the sun than Earth is, so how are they so tan?

"I'm Sapphire, this is Yoongi," Sapphire says, sitting across from the man while Yoongi stands. "What's your name?" she asks. The Martian stays quiet, keeping his eyes on the table. "Look, we have a whole ass war we're fighting in, if we had time for this bullshit silence, I would be a lot more patient. I highly suggest you tell us your name. Come on, start small."

She has blood and dirt all over her skin, so when the man sees that, he almost looks scared but tries to mask it. "Ian. Ian Gavil." Hoseok remembers that, preparing to talk into the comm as soon as he gets the identification number.

"How old are you, Ian?" Yoongi asks.

"Thirty-two."

"Rank?"

"Sergeant."

"Ohh Sergeant, so this isn't your first rodeo," Sapphire says. She glances at the glass, giving Seulgi and Hoseok a wink. "The Martian Civil War is a little before your time, right?" Sapphire asks.

"Right," Ian says slowly, raising a brow. "What do you want?"

"I want to get to know you, Ian. Tell me, who are your friends?" Sapphire's getting as much information as possible, just in case they question Hoseok's true identity. Can't say he blames her: it's a clever move.

"This is war, we don't have time for friends."

"But you do have time to memorize identification numbers. Care to share? I hear they're very important," Sapphire says, leaning forward. God damn, she looks intimidating from out here, Hoseok can only imagine what the man is thinking.

"Why would I tell you that?" Ian asks.

"We can easily make up numbers and hope they won't check, so you might as well tell me," Sapphire says.

"You can't do that."

"Oh yeah? Why not?" Yoongi asks.

"Whenever you comm someone, your name and identification number show up as a hologram. That's how we crack down on people stealing our comms and using them to find information. Does Earth not do this?"

"Our comms are a little different," Sapphire explains. "But this isn't about Earth, this is about your identification number. I strongly suggest you tell us. My boyfriend here is not very friendly or patient."

Ian leans back. "I thought women were the impatient ones." Sapphire shoots him a smile. Then, within a flash, she punches him right in the face. He jumps back, pulling on the handcuffs as blood pours out of his nose.

"Oops, I think I might have broken your nose. You know what? You're right, maybe women are the impatient ones, which is exactly why you should tell me your fucking identification number before I break something else."

Hoseok can just barely make out Yoongi stifling his laughter and his smirk, his hand placed over his mouth to hide it. He must be so proud. "What are you going to do with it?" Ian asks, panting.

"I'll tell you if you tell me your number first."

"You wouldn't."

"You wouldn't be able to do anything about it if I did, so what the hell? Why not?" Sapphire asks.

Ian seems unconvinced, "I don't trust you."

"I'd certainly hope not, we're literally in a war against each other," Sapphire replies.

"Smartass," Ian mumbles.

Yoongi punches Ian, gritting his teeth. "Answer her," he says.

"Oh by the way, my boyfriend has intelligence enhancements. He knows every spot on your body he can break to make this even more painful. So, still want to stay quiet? Or maybe you can tell us and let this be over with," Sapphire says, smiling. Ian coughs out some blood, then, he lets out a sigh.

"RED70903," he mumbles.

"I'm sorry, one more time?" Sapphire says.

"RED70903," he repeats, louder.

Hoseok changes frequency, pressing on the comm. "Hello? Hello can anyone hear me?" Hoseok asks.

"I'm here, who is this? What's your identification number?" a male voice says.

"Sergeant Ian Gavil, RED70903. Where's Clementine? I have something she might like."

There's a few beats of silence. "What do you have?" the male voice replies.

"I found a member of the Moonchild crew, Kang Seulgi. I thought the Commander might like to have her. She's injured, unconscious for now. I don't know why she's out in the middle of the road, but who cares, we have her and that's what matters, right?"

Again, more silence. "Right. I don't know where Clementine is, I know she was going for Commander Park a little bit ago but fled the fight. Ask someone else." Just like that, the comm goes dead.

"Well, it's progress," Seulgi says as Sapphire and Yoongi strut out of the room.

"Any luck?" Sapphire asks.

"We only commed one. They accepted the identification number. Now it's finding someone who actually knows where Clementine is," Seulgi says.

"Let's get back to the main room, we need a big map we can show everyone once we pinpoint her location," Hoseok says, causing the other three to nod in agreement.

They rush out of the room, running towards the elevator. Y/N rushes into view, two soldiers behind her. "Wait, guys!" she calls. The four slow to a stop only a few feet away, surprised to see her here.

"How's Jimin?" Yoongi asks.

"He's still under, but the doctor seems confident the medicine will work. He's doing all he can. But that's not what's important right now, they were trying to comm you but it wouldn't work. Someone's hacking into our comm system and blocking us out-"

"Kang Seulgi, Jung Hoseok, Y/N L/N, and who else is there? Is the researcher there? Sapphire? Yoongi?" a female voice says over the speakers. The entire crew goes still, the only audible sounds between them being their breathing. "This is Commander Clementine speaking, we have the entire building surrounded. This fight is over, Mars will win once we take you out. Come out, unarmed, your hands up or else we storm the building. I know you may think you have the numbers to beat us, but I guarantee you: you don't. I have an army, a damn tank. What do you have? The answer is nothing."

Hoseok glances around at everyone, seeing their panicked expressions. "If you come out and follow my terms, I'll leave the rest of the tower alone, the rest of your fighters alone. I know you don't trust me, but I'm a woman of my word. I'll leave the other men and women alone. I just want the five that I said. Seulgi, Hoseok, L/N, Sapphire, and Yoongi." There's a pause. "Come out with your hands up, unarmed, or I storm the building. You have two minutes to comply." And just like that, the comm goes dead.

Almost instantly, Y/N grabs her knife, pulling it out of her holster and hiding it in her waistband. "You're insane," Hoseok says.

"No shit, have you met my family?" Y/N replies, making sure her shirt and broken armor completely cover it.

Hoseok lets out a sigh, looking at Seulgi. "We have to do this, don't we?"

Seulgi sadly nods. "We can't let all these people die." She turns to the two soldiers around Y/N. "Can I get a visual on the outside?"

"I'm sorry ma'am, but they're blocking all our tech. That's why we couldn't tell you sooner, they're blocking our trackers, comms, and maps. We're in the dark for this one. The best we can do is look out the window."

"We only have a minute and a half left, we need to hurry before more people die," Hoseok says.

Seulgi takes a moment, then lets out a huff. "Fine, drop your weapons." Everyone does, tossing them on the ground.

"How are we getting out of this one?" Sapphire asks. Seulgi peeks around at her crewmates, and after a few seconds, her eyes lock with Hoseok's. Just by looking at her, he knows that these are their final moments. So, Seulgi sighs.

"We aren't."

~16:34~

You watch as Hoseok and Seulgi hug, Yoongi and Sapphire doing the same. You're kind of awkwardly standing in front of the door, unsure of what to do. God what you'd give to have Jimin here right now. Just one more look at him. One more look. Anything to see that smile again. You tear up, staring at his comm that you picked up earlier. The inscribed date on it only makes your tears fall.

There's a few Earth soldiers behind you, so, you sigh and turn around. "Here," you say, handing the broken comm to the closest one. He looks confused but takes it. "Give this to Commander Park, and can you tell him something for me?"

"Of course ma'am."

"Tell him that I'm sorry and that I want him to live an amazing life. To go on and have a good family. To..." You break off, choking up. "Tell him I want him to be happy." The man nods, and you let out a shaky breath. "Thank you."

The two couples break apart, trying to hide their tears. They both share their last 'I love you's, holding up their hands as they start forward. You follow, keeping your hands up when you go through the doors. The setting sun hits your eyes, your breath leaving you for a few seconds. You're greeted by ARs pointed at you, a good three dozen Martians (and yes - there's a tank) surrounding you. Well fuck, there really is no way you're getting out of this one, huh?

All five of you keep your hands up, facing down a familiar face standing in the center of her goons. "L/N, we meet again. Boy I'd love to have your head," Commander Clementine says.

"Come get it," you say.

"So determined. You have my respect, I'll give you that. I'd rather a challenge than someone so willing to give up."

"Then come fight me, I'll give you a challenge. Tell your goons to drop their weapons."

She chuckles. "As much as I'd love to take you up on that offer, you and I both know we don't have much time left."

Well, she's not wrong. Neither side has much time left. Mars is running out of leaders, Earth is running out of patience. Clementine is the last one standing. Without any direction, the Martians will fall apart and easily be driven away from the planet. Granted, it'll still take a lot of work to drive them away, but it'll be worth it. This is your turf now: you make the rules. You have a small amount of hope you can make it through this. A very small amount, but enough.

"Come forward please." The five of you do, and almost instantly, the Martians go to your group, about to handcuff you.

"Where are you taking us?" Seulgi asks.

"To your deaths," Clementine replies. "Executing the Moonchild crew on broadcast? Earth's hope would be crippled. An easy victory for Mars. Once and for all we'll be the rulers of the solar system again. Actually, I'll be the leader of the solar system. Just watch, Triton will be saved, the Belt will be reborn, Ganymede will flourish, all because of me. Think about what we can do for the system. Think of the hope we can restore just by having new leaders. Earth has failed us. I know you don't want to believe it, but look around. Look at the death of Triton, or the destruction of the Belt. I want to change that. The solar system needs change. Real change."

"So you do that by ignoring peace negotiations and slaughtering people? No. You're nothing more than a power hungry monster," you say, eyeing the Martians approaching you. Before they can handcuff you, a loud roar is heard overhead. Within only a few seconds, there's something coming at you from the sky. And it's coming in fast.

'Boom'

You're knocked to your feet, the Martians going flying with you. Your ears ring, everything going white for a few seconds. "Y/N!" a male voice calls, gunfire breaking out. You groan, holding your head as your vision comes back to you. More gunfire sounds off, the noise bringing you back to reality. As soon as you can see again, you look up in time to see a giant fire not too far away, where the tank once was. A motorcycle is crashed into it.

Jungkook and Taehyung are hidden behind abandoned cars, blasting away at the Martians. That explosion must have taken out a bunch of them, but that doesn't matter. What matters is Clementine. You sit up, glancing around but seeing her no where. No, she couldn't have gotten away again. Not this time. She knows how important she is, she knows she needs to stay alive, but she wouldn't run from this. This is her chance to get most of the Moonchild crew. She's going to take it.

"Seulgi, Hoseok!" you say, peering over at your fallen crewmates. Sapphire is on her hands and knees, nudging Yoongi, who's slowly waking up. Seulgi and Hoseok are still on the ground, their eyes squeezed shut from the shock. It seems as though the Martians aren't focused on you, they're more focused on Jungkook and Taehyung. So, you grab the knife and pull it forward. You can't take out these Martians with a knife, but you can at least try and do something.

You search and search, spotting Clementine hiding behind the ruins of the tank, treating one of her wounds on her shoulder. A piece of debris must have hit her or something, but you don't care. Your entire body is screaming at you to sit down for a minute, but you can't. Jungkook and Taehyung seem to have the upper hand, seeing as they got the jump on the Martians. However, what shocks you most is the doors to the tower opening, several Earth soldiers pouring outside. They fire on the Martians, some of the Earth ones falling and getting killed, but they keep fighting. They must have heard the explosion.

You take your chance, getting up and running over to the car Jungkook and Taehyung are hiding behind, sliding next to them. "I'm glad you guys are alright, but where's Jin and Anya?" you ask.

"They're still in the city, they're freeing the other prisoners that were there. We got out while we could. Trust me, they're okay, they're leading a whole ass rally," Jungkook says.

"And how did you guys get here?"

"On that lovely bike that's now destroyed, but it was worth it. Taehyung grabbed me and jumped off the damn thing."

Tae looks at you and smiles, pointing to his cheeks. "Super strength." That's right. Enhancements. He's quite literally superhuman. "Swung Jungkook onto my back and landed on the ground just in time for the explosion to knock us back some more," Taehyung says, looking proud of himself.

"Thank you guys. I don't know how we would've gotten out of that."

"Don't thank us yet, looks like we're losing more soldiers than Mars is," Jungkook replies, peeking over the car and shooting.

You peep over at the tank, seeing Clementine preparing to run. "Clementine," you say, about to dash to her when Tae grabs your elbow.

"Wait, there's still a good ten Martians left, you don't want to risk getting hit-"

"We don't want to risk her getting away, cover me!" Before the two of them can stop you, you jump out of their reach and run out of cover. Almost instantly you hear bullets whiz by, but Jungkook and Taehyung cover you like you asked them to.

As soon as you reach the tank, you grab Clementine by the back of her armor, using all your strength to pull her back. She lands right in front of the tank, the fire from both sides momentarily stopping. The Earth soldiers are pretty much gone, only two left. The Martians are also pretty weak, only five left. But this isn't about them. It's about you and Clementine.

"Hold your fire!" you say, sauntering towards her with your knife drawn. "I got this."

Clementine stands, holding her fists up. She must have lost her weapons in the explosion, but you're not complaining. The two of you go at it right away, getting into a fight. You slash at her but hit nothing, her blocking all your strikes. She pushes you back, and you try to kick but fail, her knocking your leg away like it's nothing. You stumble back, panting as you tighten your grip on your knife.

Earth and Mars go back to fighting, working around the two of you as Mars uses what resources they have left to try and stop Earth. You don't pay attention to that. You charge right at her, swinging. Due to your speed, you manage to cut her bicep, but she jumps back, landing a quick punch to your cheek. Your already weak body doesn't help with the pain that shoots across your face, you staggering back and holding your sore spot. "Fuck," you grumble before shaking your head, trying to shake the injury off.

She doesn't give you a chance to breathe. She comes right at you again. Clementine knocks you to the ground, all your air leaving you as she pins you to the road. You go at her with the knife, but she holds it with her free hand, using the other one to choke you. You gag, kicking rapidly, but nothing works. Your other hand tries to grab at her throat, but she's just out of reach. Your vision gets hazy, but you don't give up. With all your strength, you manage to punch her as hard as you can.

You cough as she falls off you, but you know you won't have any chance to recover. This is a war veteran, there's no way she'll stay down for long. You cough one last time before peeking up. She's about to kick you, but you manage to block it in time, rolling away to stand again. She hops to her feet, coming right for you. God damn, she's aggressive as hell. You go to stab her, but she ends up grabbing your hands, keeping you in place as you desperately try to lower the knife. This feels scarily similar to the time you fought Chaeyoung.

The chaos around you stopped. Clearly one side won, but you don't look to see which. You grit your teeth, trying to lower the knife more when she gets the upper hand. She side steps, causing you to stumble. Within the blink of an eye, she grabs your hair and brings you up against her chest, taking the knife from you. Before you even know what's happening, she has her back facing the tower, your knife pressed against your throat.

"Everyone drop your weapons!" she shouts. You glance around, seeing that Earth won, but there's only your crew left. Jungkook and Taehyung come out of cover, dropping their weapons and holding up their hands. "Good! Come in front of me where I can see you!" They do, the entire crew holding their hands up as they look at you. God dammit, why couldn't you win this one fight? This was the only one that mattered.

"I'm taking all of you! You're mine! I'm going to kill every last one of you, fuck the broadcast! I'm doing it now! Starting with your lovely Miss L/N!" Clementine yells. Time seems to go still as you feel the metal on your skin. You're about to die, and for once, there's nothing you can do about it. You failed. You failed miserably. The tears at your eyes fall, you closing your eyes and accepting your fate. However, someone comes along. A miracle comes along.

"You're wrong. Her name isn't Miss L/N."

"Excuse m-" But before Clementine can turn, a gunshot goes off. It hits her in the shoulder, narrowly missing you. You gasp, pushing away from her as soon as the knife lowers from your throat. You don't waste any time: you elbow her in the face, causing her to stagger back. She's about to charge you again, but you do the one thing you didn't think you could do. You do a roundhouse kick. A successful one, hitting her in the stomach. She gags, dropping the knife as she slumps to the ground. Her back hits one of the abandoned cars, her panting. You turn in time to see who saved you. Your jaw drops.

Jimin.

He holds his injured wrist in a splint against his chest, a pistol in his free hand, his face pale, and his skin glistening with sweat. Jimin is hyperventilating, stumbling forward with a limp. Clementine is staring at him with awe. Right when it seems like she's about to get up, Jimin scoffs.

"Her name is Mrs. Park."

As soon as the words leave his mouth, he fires, hitting her in the head. Her dead body falls over, blood pouring out of her forehead where he shot her. Jimin holsters the weapon, not caring about what he just did. His eyes are on you and only you.

In a heartbeat, you engulf him in your arms, him groaning at the contact but quickly hugging back. "You're okay. You're okay," he whispers, his good hand going to the back of your head, his fingers digging into your locks. You sniffle, laughing slightly as you cry.

"I should be saying that to you."

He pulls back, his good hand trailing around to your cheek. His thumb brushes over the skin there, his eyes full of love and tears. "Y/N, when I heard your comm to Jungkook, I thought that was the last time I'd ever hear your voice whether I survived my injury or not."

"It was Ganymede all over again," you whisper, and he agrees. He shakily raises his other hand, placing it on your cheek. You feel how weak his fingers are, but you don't comment on it. He needs this.

"And just like Ganymede, we found each other," he whispers back.

"We'll always find our way back to each other," you say, letting a few tears fall. "Always."

He leans closer, his nose touching yours. "I love you. I love you so much." Without giving you a chance to reply, he kisses you. The fires surround you, sparks in the air, but you don't care. You kiss him back, placing both your hands on his shoulders as everything else falls into the background. Jimin's here. He's actually here. The relief you feel overwhelms you, causing more tears to fall as he gingerly pulls away.

Both of you are a mess of blood, sweat, and tears, but again, neither of you care. All you want is each other, that's all you've ever wanted. "I love you, Park Jimin," you whisper, placing one of your hands on his neck. He kisses your forehead, his eye smile coming out.

"I love you, my Y/N Park..."

"These were the coordinates on her map. He has to be there," Jimin says, peeking at Hoseok. "I'm sending you after him."

"Just me?" Hoseok asks.

"Just you. Go in with Martian armor on, get him out of there. I'll have the rest of our troops coming in right after you to bomb the place. That's the last Martian outpost in Binghamton. We take it out and Binghamton is ours again. All that's left is helping the rest of the world recover from their attacks."

Jimin glances around at his crew, giving them solid nods that they're quick to return. "We may not be able to help in the Moonchild, but we're going to make sure we win this fight. I'm hearing all good things from our friends in the sky. It looks like we won the space battle, now it's on us on the ground." Everyone seems pleased by that, so Jimin continues. "I'm sending out patrols along these sections." He pauses, pointing to the spots on the map he wants to use. "Hoseok, I want you to go here." He pauses again, pointing to the spot where the outpost is on the map.

Hoseok has Seulgi mark it in his personal map, the two quietly talking to each other for a few moments. "Alright, I got it sir. Anything else?" Hoseok asks.

"No, that's all I have for now. I expect patrols to be sent out in the next five minutes, understood?" Jimin says. The soldiers surrounding them all nod. "Good, dismissed to do your tasks. I'll let you know any updates." The soldiers move, hustling into action.

"I'll be back before you know it," Hoseok says, making sure his armor is secure before checking his AR.

"I trust you, Hobi. There's no one else better for this job. Go grab one of the countless Martian helmets we have lying around. I know you can sneak in and out undetected. Go bring our pilot home."

"Yes sir," Hoseok replies.

"Comm me if anything changes." Hoseok nods, giving Seulgi a quick kiss before rushing over to the elevator and departing to perform his task.

"What do we do?" Sapphire asks.

"I think we've done more than enough for one day, don't you think?" Jimin asks. The others sadly nod. "Yoongi, Jungkook, oversee patrol preparations and make sure everything is in order. Sapphire, Seulgi, go oversee the prisoners. Taehyung, stay up here and work with the other agents, I want every tracker and comm back online. Override whatever it is Clementine did to our systems."

"She hacked them, should be an easy fix," Tae says.

Jimin nods. "Good. Y/N, stay with me. You and I are running this operation now." She agrees, coming to his side. "Dismissed, go do your tasks."

"Yes sir," they reply, dashing off to do what they were told.

As soon as Jimin is left alone with Y/N, she grabs his wrist splint. He still hisses from the pain, causing her to wince. "Sorry," she whispers.

"Don't apologize, I have to get used to it. That asshole got me good. Completely broke my comm."

"Speaking of your comm," she mutters, motioning to one of the Earth soldiers. He comes forward, holding out Jimin's comm. Jimin gratefully takes it back, nodding to the soldier.

"Thank you." The soldier returns the nod before departing without a word, going back to his station.

"I found it and brought it back. I figured you'd want that one more than a new one," Y/N says.

Jimin nods, peering at the date on the back of it. "Now why would I ever want to replace this?"

Y/N chuckles, motioning to his splint. "Want me to kiss it better?"

"Just like you did with my leg back on Ganymede?"

She hums. "This seems a little worse, but please don't fight Goliaths again, that wasn't good."

"Trust me, I didn't like doing it either," he says. She kisses the splint, causing him to sigh. "Now, you know what I'm gonna say."

"Your lips also hurt?" she teases.

"Oh, you have no idea. They hurt worse than my wrist. They might need a deep, long kiss. Or two. Or three. You know what? How about an hour long make out sessio-" She interrupts him by kissing him, being careful not to hurt him. He kisses back, keeping his good hand on her cheek. He's alive and well, with the love of his life.

Soon enough, they part, leaving him breathless. "I said or two... or three," he says, causing her to roll her eyes.

"You're ridiculous."

"Runs in the family. What can I say, our kids are gonna be crazy bastards."

"And horny bastards," she replies.

"Definitely. Would it be weird to fuck in the middle of a war?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, but what if my dick hurts worse than my wrist and lips? Will you kiss it too?"

She playfully smacks his chest. "Park Jimin!" He laughs, his squeaky sounds coming out.

She joins in on his laughter, smiling brightly. God it feels so good to have her back. As soon as they dial down from their laughing spree, he gives her a sad smile. "When we fought the Martians, do you know who was there?" She raises a brow, shaking her head. He lets out a breath. "Joon. He was there. And it wasn't just in my head. We all saw him. All of us."

She's shocked to say the least. "Like... he was a ghost?"

He nods. "He was fighting by our side, talking to us even. He made a plan that got us out of that mess."

"Where is he now?"

"I don't know, it's like he disappeared."

She entwines her hand with his good one, leaning against the table. "Is it possible that you and him are connected? You always tell me about times where he's with you. Like the broadcast on Ganymede, and in your dreams, and even right before your coma. Now this. He seems to come to you whenever you need it most. There has to be a reason for that." Jimin purses his lips, considering the thought. "It's because he loves you, Min. He loves you dearly. And even more than that. He's still with you."

"But shouldn't I let go? I've been holding onto him for so long, isn't it best if I just..." He breaks off for a moment, sniffling. "Jungkook let him go, why can't I?"

"Jungkook let him go because he was turning in to a mini Namjoon. Not that that's a bad thing, but Jungkook was doing everything for him. He let Joon go because he needed to do something for himself." Y/N squeezes his hand, using her other to brush across his cheek. "All your choices have been your own. Joon may have helped you with them, sure, but you're our Captain. You're Captain Park Jimin of the Moonchild. You named our ship, you brought us together during our darkest times, you killed Park Chaeyoung, you killed Commander Clementine." She pauses for a moment, smiling with tears in her eyes. "You made me yours forever. You did that all on your own. You did. No one else. Namjoon is here to help, but you're still your own person."

Jimin stares in shock, then, he kisses her again. He can't resist: her lips are too irresistible, and what she just said made his heart flutter in a way he can't even describe. She's surprised but kisses him back, the sweet kiss only lasting a few seconds before he pulls back. "Thank you," he mutters. She kisses his nose, grinning. After, she shakes her head, rubbing circles into the back of his hand.

"I should be the one thanking you."

~17:01~

Hoseok gazes at the outpost, gulping. It's smaller than he expected, but that doesn't make it any easier. There's several white tents set up, relief stations like on Ganymede all those months ago. Wow, that's crazy to think about. It's been almost a year since the crew got together. Almost a full year. Hoseok shivers at the thought. Everything is about to change. If they win this war, for the first time in a year, the crew won't know what to do next. They'll actually have a second to breathe, a second to relax.

He thinks about it for a moment, then, he frowns. Is it weird that a part of him is scared for the end of the war? For the first time in a while, there's no set path for him. He doesn't know where he's going after this. That scares him. Of course, he'll still be under Jimin's command, but will that even be necessary? What's the next step?

A life with Seulgi sounds amazing, and of course he wants that, but after a year of constant fighting, he wants more. Even though he's done so much, it's not enough for him. He wants to keep fighting for his home, for his family. Hoseok wants to save as many people as humanly possible. It's like he still wants the thrill. The adventure. Hoseok wants to fight by his crew's side a little bit longer.

Back in the beginning, he hated the fighting. He was so opposed to it, but now he almost craves it. It's a dangerous addiction, but having such a thrilling life is crazy to say the least. Regardless, now isn't the time to think about that. He has to find Baekhyun before Mars takes him somewhere. Clementine is dead, and as soon as they find out, chaos will follow. The outpost will be abandoned, torn apart even. Baekhyun could be executed on spot. The only reason why he was given sanctuary was because Clementine wanted to talk to him, and now since she's gone...

There's several Martians stomping around. Maybe they already know. Hoseok, realizing he's wearing Martian armor, stands and strolls forward. He goes towards the tents, swinging his AR over his shoulder so he doesn't look antagonistic. After a few seconds, he heads inside the first tent, seeing two beds inside. They're both empty, blood on the white sheets. Hoseok gags but decides against saying anything, he just turns and treks out.

"Of course it's not easy. It can never be easy, can it?" Hoseok grumbles to himself, going to the next tent. Nothing. The next one. Nothing. The one after that. Fucking nothing. At this point, Hoseok is getting enraged. He wants to find Baekhyun and go home. In the tents there's either no one or someone he doesn't know. Regardless, he keeps going. He hopes that Baekhyun wasn't transferred anywhere or something like that.

"Can you move him?" a male voice asks. Hoseok ducks behind the tent, peeking out to see two Martian guards standing outside it.

"No, it'll be too painful on him," the other, a woman, replies.

"We have to try. We need to get the pilot to a ship, his crew will come running after him."

"It's over! Clementine is dead!" the woman says.

"If we kill the Moonchild crew, the war turns in our favor!" the man replies.

"We should get out of here while we can. It's not worth losing our lives over," the woman tries, but the man cuts her off.

"If Earth wins this war, we'll be slaves to them. They'll come over and shut us down, keep us on tight locks."

"Maybe we deserve it. If Earth wins fair and square, we have to suffer the consequences."

"Marsha, please..."

"I'm sorry, I'm out. I'm getting who I can and I'm getting out of here." She turns on her heel and storms away, leaving him standing there.

"Marsha!"

He rushes after her, meaning Hoseok is alone. Wow, he just witnessed his own personal drama movie. Despite that, he goes to the tent, zipping inside. "Baekhyun!" he instantly says, seeing the pilot laying down on the bed, actually conscious. The man stares at Hoseok with his eyes bulging.

"Who are you?"

Hoseok takes off his helmet. "What? Don't recognize my beautiful voice?"

Baekhyun chuckles. "I'm surprised you're here."

Hoseok comes over, kneeling next to him. "Jimin sent me. Are you alright?"

Baekhyun bites his lower lip, tears in his eyes. "Not really..."

"Come on, let's go. Tell me on the way and I'll listen to every word, buddy." Hoseok offers Baekhyun his hand, but the Pilot shakes his head.

"Hobi, I can't..."

Hoseok furrows his brows. "Huh? What can't you do?"

"I can't move," Baekhyun mutters.

"The gunshot was that bad? Alright well, you don't look too heavy, I can carry you until you get feeling back-"

"I'm paralyzed."

Time seems to halt for a second as Hoseok absorbs those two words. Baekhyun has tears streaming down his face as he stares, waiting for Hobi's words. "You're... you're what?" Hoseok whispers, keeping his eyes on Baekhyun's bandages.

"I'm paralyzed," he repeats.

"Like... from the waist down?"

He nods. "The bullet did something to my spine. I don't know what the doctors said, as soon as they told me I was paralyzed I didn't listen to anything else, but I can't walk again."

Hoseok almost falls over, staring at Baekhyun with his jaw on the floor. "No. This is a joke, this can't be real."

"It's real, Hobi."

"Oh God. I'm so sorry," Hoseok says, tearing up with him.

"It's not your fault. I made my choice, I don't regret it. If I didn't do what I did, Y/N would be here. Maybe she'd be even worse." Hoseok is about to speak when the tent moves, him jumping and turning towards the entrance.

Two Martian guards stand there. As soon as they see Hoseok, they charge towards him. "Uh oh," Hobi mutters, standing and preparing to fight. He draws his pistol, shooting them both down before they can close the gap. However, two more take their place. A brawl breaks out, Hoseok shooting, but none of his shots connect. They fight hand to hand, Hoseok using the butt of his pistol to do some damage.

He hits one of their helmets with the back of his gun, shooting the guard while he's distracted. The other manages to grab Hoseok and choke hold him, his lungs burning as his grip on his pistol weakens. The guard knocks it out of his hands, sliding it to the corner of the room near Baekhyun's bed. Hoseok gags, trying to bring in more air. However, he turns the tide, headbutting the man and kicking his knee.

The guard goes down with a yelp, nearly bringing Hoseok with him. Hobi coughs, rubbing his sore throat before kicking the guard in the helmet. The thing pops off, revealing a man's face to Hoseok. He kicks the guard again. Hoseok jumps to the ground, pinning the Martian there and drawing the man's knife, stabbing him. Soon enough, the life leaves the Martian's eyes, so Hoseok is left panting.

"Nicely done," Baekhyun says as Hoseok stands, wiping the blood off the knife with his sleeves.

"Thanks, that man took the air out of me. He was even more muscular than Jungkook."

Baekhyun winces. "Ouch."

"Yeah, ouch indeed. Now, let's think of how to get you out of here."

"Put me on a stretcher?" Baekhyun points to the corner of the tent, where a stretcher is. "That should be easy enough, strap me to one, put your helmet on so no one recognizes you."

Hoseok agrees. "Yeah, that could work. Just be ready for me to-"

"Watch out!"

Hoseok yelps, ducking in time for a man to swing at the back of his head. Hobi rolls across the floor, snapping up to see the man charging him. He pins Hoseok to the floor, the knife flying away from him. Hoseok finds himself in yet another choke hold, the man covering Hobi's body. Hoseok fights like crazy to get the man off him, but nothing works. His tongue is dry, his throat in searing pain, his lungs begging for oxygen that never comes. Hoseok sees his life flash before his eyes as his vision goes hazy. Then, a gun goes off, and the man slumps over.

Hoseok coughs wildly, sliding the dead man off of him. The Martian got shot right in the head. But how? Hoseok glances up in time to see Baekhyun on the ground, crying in pain as he holds a pistol in his hand, the same pistol Hoseok dropped earlier. "Baekhyun!" Hoseok says, his voice hoarse. He crawls to his fallen friend, helping the pilot rest. Baekhyun has one hand on his bandages, the other holding the pistol.

"Why would you do that? You could have hurt yourself even worse!" Hoseok says, his throat still burning from the choking.

"I-I couldn't let you die. I couldn't," Baekhyun says, shaking his head. "Just because I'm paralyzed doesn't mean I don't know how to shoot a gun."

"So, let me get this straight: you rolled out of bed to grab a gun just to save me?" Baekhyun nods. Hoseok lets out a small breath. "Jesus. Well, I'll give you one thing, Pilot Byun." Baekhyun raises a brow. "You're pretty badass."

~20:36~

Jimin stands on the balcony of the military tower, peering down at the city. Some distant gunfire is heard, but for the most part, the war is over. They did it. They won. The thought makes Jimin smile as he holds the railing with one hand, his other held up on his chest. He's in a sling now, his wrist splint still on as well. Double protection apparently. Jimin isn't complaining: he's on the strongest painkillers humanly possible, so he feels nothing.

Jungkook is next to him, gazing up at the stars coming out. It's night now, the sky dark, the air cold. Everything seems to be peaceful despite the war they just fought in. "How's your hip?" Jimin asks.

"It'll be okay, nothing I can't handle."

"I don't think there's a single thing you can't handle." Jimin turns to Jungkook, who raises a brow.

"Sir?" he asks, and Jimin softly smiles, taking a step forward.

"Jungkook. I need to talk to you."

"About?"

"The crew."

"Do I want to know?" Jungkook asks, his tone wavering between amused and terrified.

Jimin takes a few moments, then sighs. "You're my Executive, so..."

He sighs with Jimin, nodding. "Alright, hit me."

Jimin stares at him, admiring the man's face before speaking. "It's been almost a year since we got together, and everything is different. Literally everything. We went from complete strangers to closer than I am with my own parents. The war's over. We're done fighting. For the first time since we met, we don't have to worry about a war, or Ganymede, or the Ring. Anything."

Jimin pauses for a moment, shaking his head. "For the first time in a while, we can relax without a care in the world. And one day, I'm sure something will come along where we have to fight again. But until then, we relax."

"What does this have to do with the crew?" Jungkook asks, leaning against the railing.

Jimin softly smiles. "I was thinking... maybe I don't want to be on Earth anymore."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

Jimin keeps his smile, staring up at the stars. "We were never meant to stay in one place, Jeon. You and I both know that. I was thinking maybe we start a transportation company. Get a new ship, transport minerals across the stars. Together." Jimin turns back to Jungkook. "But more than just a transportation company. I want there to be kids and animals. Families. I want it to be more than a job. I want it to be a home to others who are like us."

Jungkook softly smiles. "Like us?"

"Assholes." Jungkook laughs, Jimin laughing with him. "No no, in all seriousness, I want to find people who need help."

"Oh yeah, that's definitely like us."

"Oh shush, you know what I mean. People who are like your husband, recovering from Triton. People like Yoongi. People like you and I." Jungkook's eyes widen, tears swelling and threatening to fall. "People mourning. Never truly over a death no matter how hard we try to let go."

Jimin feels a strong wind blow by him, making him close his eyes with a sigh. He focuses on the feeling for a few seconds, then, he opens his eyes and looks to the side. Jungkook is crying now, looking with him. Both Namjoon and Kai are there, their silhouettes smiling at the pair. Jimin sniffles, chuckling.

"God damn you assholes. Making us cry on a nice night like this," Jimin murmurs, causing the ghosts to smile brighter, amusement in their eyes.

Jungkook swings an arm around Jimin, pulling his Captain closer. "You know what? I think the transportation is a great idea."

"Yeah?" Jimin asks, his lips creeping up into a grin.

Jungkook nods, keeping his eyes on the ghosts. "Yeah. Maybe Kai's family would like to join." Kai goes still, his expression filled with longing. Although their faces aren't quite there, Jimin can tell tears are forming in the late governor's eyes.

"Jungkook, Jimin! Jin and Anya are back!" Seulgi's voice calls from inside.

Jimin glances back and sees the two walking in, greeting their fellow crewmates. He smiles, turning back to Namjoon and Kai, but they're gone. Jimin and Jungkook share a look.

"We're not alone," Jimin whispers. Jungkook comes closer, bringing his Captain into a hug. Jimin hugs back as best as he can, closing his eyes and burying his head into Jungkook's shoulder.

"We're not alone," Jungkook repeats, confirming Jimin's words.

They hug for several seconds, the world not important to them as they focus on staying with each other, their eyes closed as their skin basks in the moonlight. "I just want you to know that you're more than my best friend," Jungkook mutters. "More than even my brother. You're one of the best things that's ever happened to me. Jimin, I never want to be in a world without you. Taehyung, Y/N, you, this crew... I asked Namjoon if I would be happy without you guys, and..."

"He said no?" Jimin asks, although it's more of a statement. Jungkook replies by squeezing Jimin tighter, his warmth seeping through Jimin's body. "Mars was your home once. I'm so sorry we had to go up against it," Jimin whispers.

"My parents are okay, the battle wasn't on Mars so they're okay. That's all that matters. My home isn't Mars. It never was. I may have had a decent childhood there, but my home is..." Jungkook pauses to pull back, placing his hand on Jimin's shoulder. "You. My home is you, and this crew. I was on the Belt, and I thought I'd stay there my whole life. I was supposed to be an agent hopping back and forth, but then, you and Joon showed up and I found something I didn't even know I was looking for."

Y/N and Taehyung come out onto the balcony, looking at their lovers. "Everything okay?" Taehyung asks.

Jungkook keeps softly crying, smiling at Jimin before turning to his husband. "I love you. All three of you." Y/N's eyes soften as she comes closer, hugging Jungkook. He laughs, hugging her back, kissing the top of her head. "I'm so glad you're alright. When Clementine had her knife around your throat I... fuck, I wanted to kill her."

"So did I," Jimin says.

"You did!" Taehyung shouts, causing the four to laugh.

"I love you, Y/N. I love you so, so much," Jungkook murmurs. He pulls away from her, letting their friendship bracelets come together. She lets out a breath, looking at him.

"You're the order I need," she whispers. He nearly breaks down at that.

"And you're the chaos I desire," he whispers back, placing his forehead on hers. Jimin goes over to Tae while Jungkook and Y/N whisper sweet nothings to each other.

Jimin instantly brings the man into a hug, holding him close. "I heard you got taken while I was under. I want you to know that if I was awake, I would have came after you too."

Taehyung chuckles, squeezing Jimin until Jimin swears he'll lose circulation. "I know. If the roles were reversed, I'd come after you too... Captain Park."

And the group stays close, continuing to hug under the moonlight and refusing to let go.

~~~
Sapphire rushes up to Yoongi, grabbing his hand. He glances back at her, shock evident in his expression. "I love you," she instantly says.
He softens, bringing one hand to her cheek. "I love you too. Is everything okay?"
Sapphire refuses to tear up: she refuses to. "Today was so crazy, and it's still not even over. We could have died so many times today. In fact, we almost did, and it made me realize something."
She stares at him. She looks at his face, studying everything. Every moment with him has been the best of her life. There's not a single person she'd trade him for, not a single person. Throughout her whole life, she didn't know if she'd find love and or keep it, but he showed her how wrong she was to ever doubt herself. Sapphire knows what she wants. Actually, it's not what she wants, it's what she needs. She needs Min Yoongi.
Yoongi raises a brow. "Realize what?"
"I want you, Yoons. I want you more than I've ever wanted anything in my life." His jaw drops as he processes her words. She sniffles, giving him a soft smile. "And maybe you don't feel the same way, but I'm not going to hide my feelings. We all know I suck at doing that, so I'm not even going to bother. I love you more than anything in this damn universe, and I'm willing to fight for you. I'll fight for you until my last breath if I have to."
He slowly nods, and as soon as the words click in his brain, he kisses her forehead. "Would it be cheesy to say I feel the same?" She smiles brightly, shaking her head.
"No Yoons. No, not at all. Thank you for showing me what I needed." He smiles back, gently massaging her cheek while his eyes show his passion and love for her.
"No... thank you for showing me what love is."
~~~

As soon as they're done reuniting with everyone, Jin and Anya move to the corner of the room, secluded from the rest of the people. Jin keeps Anya close, admiring every detail of her face. "We freed a whole damn camp full of people. We practically started a revolution on our own, you realize that?" she murmurs.

"Yeah we did. We did it in style too. Well, everything I do is in style." Anya laughs, shaking her head in disbelief.

They stare for a few more moments, then, Anya sighs. "Jin?" He nods. "I'm so sorry."

"For what?"

"For you ever doubting yourself, for you ever not receiving love. Yeah, you're a narcissistic asshole, you're a bit obnoxious at times, maybe a little too loud-"

"Is this supposed to be sweet?" Jin asks, but his expression shows his amusement.

Anya grins in response. "But you're the strongest guy I know, you just hide it behind your little mask. I know you always appear happy, you always try to be energetic and upbeat, but at the end of the day, you care for this crew more than you care about yourself. To the point where you don't think you mean as much as the others, but trust me, you do." She holds both of his hands, nodding rapidly. "You do. You mean everything to me Seokjin. Literally everything."

"Full name," he whispers with a smile she's quick to return.

"The point is I love you." She pauses, her heart jumping to her throat. "I love you, Kim Seokjin." He kisses her, her kissing back right away. The gentle kiss is slow but passionate, their feelings coming out through this one action. When he pulls back, their eyes meet. Jin feels like a whole new person when looking into her gorgeous eyes.

"I love you," he whispers. Almost instantly, she kisses him again.

And it feels like that goes on for an eternity...

Baekhyun peers at the wheelchair with his jaw on the ground. "A wheelchair?" he asks.

"It's the best way to get you moving. We're thinking eventually prosthetics can help you, but we doubt you'll ever get feeling back in your legs," the doctor explains.

Baekhyun stares at it for a few more seconds before nodding. "Fuck it, better than being bedridden my whole life." The doctor softly smiles, nodding politely.

"Oh, sir. We have a surprise for you."

"We?"

The doctor leaves the room, and after only a minute, he comes back inside, holding something behind his back. "Commander Park arranged for this, sir. You can thank him, not me." Baekhyun raises a brow as the doctor comes closer, letting out a small breath before revealing what he's holding. Baekhyun eyes it for a few seconds, taking in the metal before his eyes widen. Is this... No, it can't be...

A piece of the Moonchild.

It's the crest of the Moonchild, the metal plate having the familiar letters on it. "Commander Park said you deserved it, sir." Baekhyun feels more tears well up in his eyes as he sniffles.

"Thank you."

"Mrs. Park also got you this."

"Mrs. Park- oh Y/N, you sly bastard." The doctor hands him the yoke to the Moon, the beautiful joystick Baekhyun once used to duck and dive now detached from his beautiful ship.

"The dig team found a few more things if you'd like to look through them. Mr. and Mrs. Park said it's all yours."

"I'm surprised my co-pilot is so willing to give all the pieces to me."

The doctor shrugs. "Something about 'you saved my life, you deserve it'."

"Ah, that girl. When will she realize I did it by choice?" Baekhyun asks with a chuckle. He takes a moment, shaking his head before locking eyes with the doctor. "Thank you. I mean it."

He nods. "Of course, sir." He pauses for a few moments, then, motions to the wheelchair. "Would you like to try it out?" Baekhyun lets out a breath, softly smiling.

"I'd love to."

Hoseok paces back and forth, biting on his nails while Seulgi watches. "Babe, will you slow down for four seconds?"

"I can slow down for two, but definitely not four," he mumbles. Seulgi sighs, going in front of him. Hoseok slows to a stop, meeting her eyes.

"It's over. The war is done. Earth won. Isn't that great news?"

Hoseok goes to nod, then, he stops. "What if I don't want it to be over? Would that be a weird thing to say?"

Seulgi only seems confused. "Depends on what you mean. Why don't you want it to be over?"

He leans against the main table, looking around the room. Taehyung, Jungkook, Y/N, and Jimin are outside, talking, hugging, and laughing. Yoongi and Sapphire are not too far away, whispering to each other. Jin and Anya are in the corner of the room, going back and forth between kissing and hugging. Meanwhile, Hoseok is standing in the center with his girl, unsure of what to say or do.

"What will happen to the crew?" Hoseok whisper-asks, almost scared of the answer.

Seulgi knits her brows together. "Nothing will happen. We'll be one big happy family as always. Isn't that a good thing?"

Hoseok gives her a reassuring smile. "Of course it is, hon. I just don't know where to go from here. After everything, isn't it weird? I should feel relieved, but I almost feel even more scared for the future."

Seulgi lets out an 'ah' noise, placing her hand on his shoulder. "Is it because before we at least knew where we were heading, and now we don't?"

Hoseok lets his shoulders relax. "You always get it."

She hums. "It's a special talent we women have. Every once in a while we can read your minds."

"What am I thinking right now?"

Seulgi stares at him, pretending to think for a few moments before smiling. "You're thinking about how much you love me."

He places his hands on her hips. "When am I ever not thinking about that, my dear?"

She snickers. "Smooth, Jung. Smooth, I'll give you that."

"Smooth enough to earn a kiss?"

Instead of verbally replying, she leans up, giving his lips a small peck. "Happy?" she asks with cute puppy eyes. He shakes his head, going back in for another, and then another, and then another. After a few more, he finally has had enough and pulls back, her giving him a cheeky smile as soon as he does.

"Hobi, there's a lot of uncertainty going into this future. But one thing's for sure: whatever it is, we're doing it together. You and me. Forever, if that's okay with you."

Hoseok kisses her cheek, giving her a nod. "It's more than okay with me. And please don't blame yourself for Jace. Please?"

She hesitates, then sighs and nods. "Okay. I'll try not to."

"It was a team effort. Everything we do, we do together. Forever..." He trails off for a moment. "If that's okay with you."

She wraps her arms around his neck, giggling. "I'd love to spend the rest of my life with you. And sunshine?" He nods. "I'm sorry I didn't realize it sooner. The fact that we broke up at all..."

"Hey, the past is the past. Let's be honest, Seul. Neither of us were happy with ourselves until after we met the crew and became a part of this... this family, this life. If it weren't for our friends, we wouldn't be who we are today. And you know what? That's okay, because we inspired each other to be better, and that's exactly what soulmates do."

Seulgi sniffles. "Shit, now I'm crying."

"Still gorgeous even when you cry," he whispers, causing her to laugh.

"You always know what to say, don't you?"

"It comes out around you. My caring, sweet side."

She gives him a warm smile, "I love you, Hobi. I love you so much." He kisses her lips sweetly, only taking a few seconds before backing away to pull her into a hug.

"I love you too, Seul. I love you too."

~~~
Jungkook brings Tae back inside, peeking over the room with a sigh before turning to his husband. "Tae, I've known you for a while now..."
"Uh oh, I don't like where this is going."
Jungkook chuckles, placing both his hands on Taehyung's shoulders. "It's nothing bad. Probably. Hear me out?" Jungkook asks with doe eyes. Taehyung raises a brow, giving Jungkook an 'are you sure' look that Jungkook only smiles to. "Please?" Taehyung finally sighs and gives in, nodding.
"Let's hear it, Kook."
Okay, here it goes. "Do you want to get our own place?"
Taehyung's shocked to say the least. "Get our own place?"
"Jimin wants to eventually get off Earth completely, probably in the next year or so after he's married. But until then, what do you say to getting our own place? Our own house?"
Taehyung slowly smiles. "Loud sex?"
"Loud sex," Jungkook confirms with a nod.
Tae instantly beams, bouncing up and down like a child. "I love loud sex!" Tae says, ahem, loudly (haha). They get a few glances from some workers, but they ignore them.
"I'm glad I married you, Tae. I really am."
"Are you sure?" Tae asks, waggling his brows.
"Oh my- yes, I'm glad. Don't make me change my mind. I have the time to divorce you now."
"Oh you'd never, you're just like Jimin."
"Huh?" Jungkook asks, although he's terrified of the answer.
"Too horny to stay away from me."
"Wait, Jimin's too horny to stay away from you-"
"No," Tae interrupts, blinking. "I meant you're too horny to not have sex every other day. That's all I meant."
Jungkook chuckles, kissing the side of Tae's head. "I do love you. You know that, right?" Jungkook asks.
"I do, but please feel free to tell me it more often."
"So charming, Jeon," Jungkook teases, causing Taehyung to giggle, hugging Jungkook.
"I'm glad you're alright, and whatever enhancements are left in your system, I'm glad they're not hurting you," Taehyung whispers.
Jungkook hums. "Me too."
They stay like that for a few moments, deciding against moving. Then, Jungkook sighs and pulls back. He eyes Taehyung's enhancements, the lines on his cheeks almost taunting him. "Do you miss them?" Taehyung asks.
"I did when the war was going on, but now since it's over, I should be a normal person again don't you think? Although..."
"Although?" Tae asks. tilting his cute head.
"I wouldn't mind if you traded energy with me tonight..." Jungkook trails off, and Tae's soft smile turns into a mischievous one.
"You know what? Let's do it."
~~~

Jimin leans against the railing, gazing at her face illuminated by the soft moonlight. "I love you," he whispers. Y/N turns to look at him, gently smiling.

"I love you too. Everything okay, Mochi?"

He motions to his sling. "Still hurts. Kiss it better again? That really worked last time."

"I swear if you say your lips hurt-"

"They do!" he says in a whine, causing her to giggle as she creeps over.

She does as he asked, softly kissing his splint. Then, she comes up to his lips and connects hers with his. He loves her. He loves her so much it hurts sometimes. It hurts his chest containing his rapid heartbeat, it hurts his head containing his cute thoughts, it hurts his... actually, let's not say that one. He loves all of her. Every single inch, every single thought, every single moment. It's all her. And that's enough.

When she pulls back, he gives her a precious look. "You're what I've always wished for in life. Someone to love, to live out my days with me," he whispers, placing one hand on her hip. She wraps her arms around his neck, and together, they kind of just mentally agree to slow dance even though there's no music. "You're my wish. You've been it. Always."

"Forever and always," she corrects, causing him to chuckle and kiss her nose.

"Yeah. Forever and always."

They stay like that for a few moments, enjoying being in each other's presence. He kisses her cheek, then goes to her shoulder. He buries his forehead there, closing his eyes. She wraps her arms completely around his back, holding him close.

"On the day you proposed to me, the shooting star? I wished for us to get married and to last a lifetime. I wanted to be yours forever," she whispers. He nods against her, softly crying from the relief that it's all over.

"You are mine, princess. You're mine until death do us part."

He pulls back, giving her the cutest, most loving smile he's ever given anyone. "Now life can get back to normal. We can go on dates, the people can come out of the bunkers, we can plan our wedding," she says, and he nods in agreement.

"I can't wait to marry you, Jagi. I really, really can't wait."

"I can't wait either Min," she says, kissing his cute little nose.

"Want to go see the crew?" he asks, and she hums.

Jimin takes a moment, looking at her ring and kissing it before entwining his good hand with hers, leading her back into the main room. As soon as they enter, the crew seems to gravitate around the center table, all ten of them (with Baekhyun here in spirit) present. Jimin peers around at every one of them for a few seconds, then, he lets out a breath.

"Look at how far we've come," he says. "From a crew that survived the destruction of the Hep to a crew on the front lines of the biggest war in recent times. I'm proud of you. Each and every one of you. You've grown tremendously, and as a result, you've helped me grow." He brings Y/N's hand to his lips, kissing her skin gently. "I found the love of my life, and it looks like many of you did as well."

"Poor Baekhyun," Seulgi whispers, causing the crew to chuckle.

"Forever the galaxy's biggest third wheel. Oh, and Jin?" Y/N asks, causing the man to look up. "I think you've earned the title. You're not worldwide handsome anymore. You're galaxywide handsome now."

He smirks. "Knew it from the beginning, but thank you for the validation." Y/N laughs, him laughing with her. Even though Jin is a huge narcissist, Jimin can't help but smile at his words. Wow, he's smiling at Jin's words. That's a little insane actually. Regardless, he continues his speech.

"No matter what, this journey will forever be the biggest part of our lives. Let's face it, we are who we are because of each other. Everything we've ever done has led us here, to this moment. Yoongi, one of the bravest men I know. How you survived Kepler, I don't know, but I'm glad you did. I couldn't ask for a better friend. You're truly amazing and quite frankly terrifying. I promise to never wake you up." Yoongi smirks at that. "Thank you, Yoongi."

He nods. "Thank you for believing in me."

Jimin nods back, turning to Sapphire. "To be honest, when I first saw you making out with Yoongi all those months ago, I didn't expect to see you again. I'm glad I did. You're strangely terrifying, just like Yoongi, but maybe that's why you two fit so well. You and Anya saved Jungkook's life, I owe you a life debt for that. Seriously, thank you for being here and for saving Jungkook's life."

She smiles. "Of course, and thank you for taking me in." Jimin brushes the deed off. She's one of them now.

"Jin, you're a bit of an asshole," Jimin says.

Jin winks. "I know."

Jimin chuckles. "But I love you for it, and I mean that. I may have wanted to throw you in an escape pod for a while, but I'm glad to have an engineer buddy... and a good cook."

"No, don't boost his ego," Anya pleads, but it's already too late.

"Thank you for being by my side. I love you. Jin."

Jin smiles. "I love you too, Captain. And yes, you boosted my ego." Jimin nearly snorts, shaking his head.

"Anya, how you put up with Jin, I don't know, but that pretty much makes you the bravest woman here. You definitely have the most patience, that's for sure."

She rolls her eyes. "You're telling me."

"Hey!"

Jimin laughs, watching as Jin pouts. "You helped me through a lot of shit, especially with my coma. That thing still affects me to this day, but if you weren't there, it would probably be worse. Thank you."

She dips her head. "You're welcome."

"Seulgi Seulgi Seulgi, where do I start with you?"

"Good question," she replies with a huff. "Be careful, I'm scary too."

"Okay yeah, you are, but that's one of the things I love about you. You don't take shit from anyone. You've always been the strongest under pressure, a good asset to the team and a good leader. But, that's not why I like you." She softens, and Jimin does the same, staring at her with admiration glistening in his eyes. "I love you, Seul. You take care of my Y/N, you've always been so kind and understanding to me, and you're actually pretty funny. Definitely funnier than Jin."

"Wow." Seulgi playfully nudges Jin, snickering.

"You've always given me a shoulder to cry on, especially when the crew fought for the first time. I can't thank you enough for that."

"Capt, I can't thank you enough for keeping Y/N happy... and for being my best friend." The pair share a smile before Jimin moves to the next person.

"Taehyung, my best friend for life. I'll never forget the day you comforted me after my nightmare. That meant a lot to me, Tae Tae. And I'm grateful for you being here, keeping Jungkook happy. I also want to thank you for coming with me to get my family ring. That was probably one of the most important days of my life, and you being there felt right. There's no one I would have rather had by my side that day. You were the first to see the ring for good reason. I love you, Tae. Thank you."

"I love you too, Jimimi."

"Ugh, I take it back," Jimin says. The crew laughs, shaking their heads as Jimin turns to Hoseok. "You're crazy, you know that?"

"So I've heard."

"But in the best way possible. Your craziness only adds to how much I like you. And believe it or not, despite how extra you are, you're a great leader. That's why you and Seulgi are such a great pair. You're one of the originals. I'll never forget all you've done for me, Hobi. I really, truly appreciate you. I love you, bud."

"I love you too. Would you be mad if I said Jimimi?"

"Very." Hoseok pouts, causing Jimin to laugh. "Cute too. He's a keeper, Seul."

"Oh definitely," Seulgi says, smiling at her boyfriend.

"Jungkook, fucking hell, you asshole. I lose brain cells whenever I so much as look at your dumbass." Jungkook stifles his laughs as Jimin sighs. "What can I even say that I haven't said to you before, huh? You're my brother. Even more than that, in a way. My right hand, my Executive, my everything. Crazy how you were Y/N's ex. Now here we are. You married to my best friend and me engaged to your ex girl who happens to be your best friend. It's almost fate, isn't it?"

Jungkook is quick to nod. "I love you, Min."

"I love you more, kiddo. More than you can even imagine."

"You may be older, but I'm taller," Jungkook says. Jimin rolls his eyes, but he snickers.

"Speaking of people I love more than they can imagine..." Jimin glances at Y/N, and everything stops. Her innocent eyes stare back, looking at him with pursed lips. "I fucking love you," he whispers, losing his train of thought. She smiles brightly, kissing him. For once, the crew doesn't gag, they just let it happen. When he pulls back, he keeps his eyes closed, his forehead pressed against hers. "I love you," he repeats.

"I love you more," she whispers back, nodding.

"I hate to break up the moment, but what are the future plans, Capt?" Hoseok asks. Jimin wraps an arm around Y/N, staring at Hoseok with a small smile.

"Future plans?"

"We're not getting any younger," Hoseok teases. Jimin glances at his crew, then, everything goes still. Two ghosts are there, standing right behind Jungkook and Taehyung. Namjoon and Kai. They lock eyes, and Jimin lets out a small breath.

"Hobi, I don't think you have to worry about that."

Hoseok raises a brow. "Huh? Why?"

Jimin tears up as Namjoon gives him a small wave. "Forever," Namjoon mouths to Jimin. Jimin gazes at the fallen man, holding back a sob before looking up at the rest of the crew and parting his lips.

"Forever we are young."
