The Beach
~Four Days Later || 9:01~
Baekhyun strolls down the streets of his old home, his hands buried in his pockets. New York City isn't what it used to be, that's for sure. He managed to patch things up with his old friends. He went back to his old college and watched it. Every day for three whole months. He probably looked weird doing so, but oh well. He's been staying in an apartment, working as a fast food employee just to have something to do.
Of course, he's been recognized on the streets before several times. He's been called a literal 'legend', and rumors of his arrival in the city have spread like wildfire. He'd often see people following him, but he knows how to get them off his tail by now. Baekhyun has lived his whole life in the city. That's kind of a necessary skill with how much the crime rates are skyrocketing. Regardless, he sighs, his fingers clutching at the fabric of his jacket's pockets as he traverses down the sidewalk.
The city is gorgeous if you look at the structures. The entire place is full of tall skyscrapers. They're so tall, you can barely see the sky in certain places. Central Park has had a lot of changes too. Lots of billboards and holograms littering the grass and nature. Baekhyun can't complain: he likes technology. He's one of the few people who prefers this Earth rather than the old one. Hoseok was right, Earth has more technology than nature. At this rate, Mars has more nature than Earth and they're literally called the 'Red Planet'.
After months of being here, Baekhyun has tackled a lot of his problems. His friends forgave him, the girl he liked did too, and the old bullies he used to have? They looked at him in fear. He didn't find all of them, unfortunately. His tracking skills aren't that good. Baekhyun's no Hoseok, but still. He's just proud of himself for getting as far as he did. His anger didn't even get out of control at any point, and that's the whole point of this. Working on himself.
Now he's on to the final part of his journey: his parents. It's something he needs to tackle. He hasn't spoken to them in, wow, too long to even remember. Baekhyun isn't sure if he remembers what their voices sound like. Is that strange? Not knowing what his own parents sound like? It's not like he had any pictures or videos or mementos to remember them by. Maybe that makes him weak, but oh well. He can't exactly turn back time and erase his mistakes. Truthfully, he wouldn't want to.
Baekhyun continues his trek, shaking his head as he approaches his childhood home. It's part of a complex. Very nice apartments that feel more like full blown houses. For New York City, his parents did well. They had stable jobs and knew when to spend and save money. That trait rubbed off on Baekhyun. Maybe that's why he's living in a nice place now, and if he ever returns to his crew, he'll be staying in a damn mansion. Baekhyun could afford a mansion in the city right now if he really wanted to. Money isn't exactly an issue with him working and having those funds from being part of the crew.
Speaking of the crew, he decided to start some social media accounts to talk about them. Nothing bad, of course. He loves his crew. The social media he's on has garnered a lot of attention, with his Twitter already gaining over five million followers in three months.
He glances up at the nearest skyscraper, a hologram on the exterior of the building. It's an ad for Sony, a company. When Baekhyun looks around more, all he sees are a bunch of ads on the buildings. Cities are nice, but the ads aren't. It's to the point where everywhere he walks there's something being flashed in his face. He frowns but decides to instead go closer to the tall building known as his childhood home.
It's certainly been changed. Probably for the better. It looks taller than Baekhyun remembers, maybe a little wider too. They definitely repainted it, and even a small detail like the doors appear better. With one last deep breath, he enters the complex and is immediately met with a sharp blast of AC. Well, that's new. The AC this building used to have was so weak he could barely feel it. This place really has done a full 180.
He shivers, closing the door behind him and trying to ignore the current brushing by his skin. He notices a man sitting behind the front desk and approaches. The man peeks up, eyeing Baekhyun. "May I help you?" he asks, the older man's voice low and hoarse.
"Room 807, is the Byun family still living there?"
"I have no idea, let me check." The man works fast, scrolling with his finger on the hologram in front of him. "Hmm, I don't see them here. You can go up and ask though, it says that the Kim family lives there now." Baekhyun sighs but nods. "I'll check and see if I can find records for the Byun family while you go ask them, okay?"
Baekhyun smiles. "Thank you so much, that means a lot." The man smiles back but doesn't reply, so Baekhyun strolls away.
He approaches the elevator, clicking the 'up' button and waiting. No one's around this early, which he's fine with. Most people are either still sleeping or getting ready for work, so he doubts he'll run into anyone important. The elevator opens, and Baekhyun heads inside, clicking the eighth floor. The machine zooms up, but Baekhyun doesn't feel it. Power of technology, right? Baekhyun chuckles to himself as the thing slows to a stop, opening.
He rushes into the hall, noticing that it's empty (like the rest of the complex). He lets out a small sigh of relief before sauntering down the familiar path. Are his parents gone for good? Is that what happened? He gulps down his fear, instead deciding to navigate the complex. For his entire childhood, he lived here. They never moved once, so if they did, that would shock him. He hopes that's not what happened, but after his departure, he wouldn't blame them for wanting to leave New York behind. Baekhyun tried to close a chapter of his life that way. Maybe they did too.
He locates room 807 and trembles, holding his fist out to knock on the door. He wants to, but he can't. What if they're still sleeping? What if it really is someone else? As much as he'd love to dwell on those questions, he's come this far, hasn't he? He's patched up with his friends, he's talked to his ex crush, and he put his ex bullies in place. This is the last step before Baekhyun can start forgiving himself for his past mistakes. So, he softly raps on the door. He still doesn't knock too loudly in case they're sleeping, but loudly enough that anyone getting ready for the day can hear it.
In the few seconds he's left alone, Baekhyun feels nervous as hell. However, his wait isn't too long since the door opens. A woman stands there. She seems middle-aged with tan skin, slim eyes, and an average body size. "I think you have the wrong apartment," she says. So much for New Yorker's being nice.
"Hi. Sorry, I don't mean to bother you. My name is Byun Baekhyun-"
"I don't want any Girl Scout cookies. Sorry."
"Do I look like a- okay, I'll get to the point. What happened to the Byun family?"
"How would I know?" she asks.
"They used to live here."
She shrugs. "Sorry, I couldn't tell you."
"Marie, be a little bit nicer please," a male voice says. The woman moves aside with a huff as a man comes up, eyeing Baekhyun. He's also middle-aged. "I'm sorry about that, what was your question?"
"The Byun family, they lived here once. Do you know where they went?"
"Oh gosh, they moved out a bit ago, had to be this time last year. Nice people, they even helped us move in. They said something about scoring a better house out of state. I'm sorry, I don't remember exactly where they were going."
Baekhyun politely bows. "That's a massive help, thank you. Did they mention any other reason why they left other than scoring a better house?"
The man purses his lips in thought, then lights up. "Something about a better job opportunity too. Not much else though." Baekhyun mentally groans, but externally smiles.
"You've helped me a lot, thank you so much. I'm sorry to bother you, have a good day." The man returns his sentiments, then they part ways.
Baekhyun rushes as fast as he can back to the elevator, frowning and trying to piece together this whole thing. Why would they leave for a better house and job? They loved their jobs, and Baekhyun likes to think they loved the city too. Unless they moved to another city, then he would understand. Regardless, he feels bad. He knows deep down he caused most of this. They probably wanted to get away from such a bad chapter of their lives. Losing a son, that can't be easy. Baekhyun isn't sure what he'd do if he lost a member of his crew, and that's just his crew. He's only known them for about nine months. Losing a son would lead to even more heartbreak.
As soon as the elevator doors part, Baekhyun dashes back into the main lobby. The same man looks up, smiling at Baekhyun. "Did you find what you were looking for?" the man asks.
Baekhyun hesitates, then hums. "They're not here anymore. Apparently they moved to a new, better house."
"Yeah, that's what I found in our records."
"Records?" Baekhyun lights up. "Wait, does that mean you know where they went?"
"I know the state and address."
"They're my parents, if you couldn't tell," Baekhyun says.
The man chuckles. "Everyone knows who you are, Baekhyun. I figured they were your family. Now, as for where they are..."
Baekhyun gulps, fearing the answer. "Where?" he asks. The man gives him a glance, then sighs.
"They're in California."

Jimin wanders around the park, peering at the people and blinking rapidly. He can't find her anywhere. Where is she? He huffs, placing his hands on his hips. The park is swarmed with people. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. He sprints down the sidewalk, ignoring the glances he gets from the crowds and keeping his eyes peeled. He wants to tease her, tell her he's going to find her despite her best efforts to hide from him. He has an inkling that she'll be somewhere near the trees, so he goes into the clearing and searches.
A whole bunch of trees are in the distance, but Jimin still gets paranoid. He told her not to go too far. Jimin sees a whole bunch of older men in the area, making him nervous. "Where are you...?" he murmurs, watching the people closely. He gulps, his throat dry. Jimin jogs forward, coming closer to the trees. "Princess?" he calls out, looking around. "Come on, honey. Daddy wants to find you!" His eyes dart around the area, but still: nothing. Okay, now his paranoia is becoming too much.
"Irene Park, come out right now!" he says. After a few moments, a shuffle is heard. A small body peeks out from behind the nearest tree.
"But daddy, we're supposed to be playing hide and seek!" she says.
Jimin sighs, kneeling as she approaches. She walks into his outstretched arms, Jimin hugging her tightly. "I'm sorry, baby. You know how daddy gets paranoid."
"Yes, yes he does," Y/N's voice says.
He turns around, seeing his beautiful wife and son not too far away. "Joonie! Come here you little bugger!" The boy jumps forward, diving into Jimin's arms. He chuckles, kissing the top of the boy's head. "Daddy missed you, buckaroo. Did your mommy get you ice cream yet?"
"I thought we were watching what we ate?" Y/N asks, raising a brow.
Jimin gives her a smirk. "One day off won't hurt." He turns to Irene. "What do you think, princess?"
She's quick to grin. "Ice cream!"
Y/N chuckles as Jimin stands, approaching her. "How's Mrs. Park doing on this fine day?" Jimin asks.
She pretends she isn't flustered, but Jimin knows his effect on her. "Better now."
He gives her a quick kiss, earning him a gag from his two young ones. "Ewww, don't suck face in front of us!" Joon says in a whine.
"Do you want ice cream?" Jimin asks. The two smile. "Then no complaining!" Y/N brings his face back to hers, giving him another kiss.
"You spoil them too much," she whispers once she pulls back.
"Just like how I want to spoil you. Now come on, ice cream is calling our names."
"Come on kids, let's get you your reward for putting up with us," Y/N says with a giggle. Jimin entwines his hand with hers, smiling like an idiot as their children rush forward and lead the way towards the ice cream truck.
"Irene!" Jimin calls. The girl turns, and so does Joon. "Here, get what you want. I need to talk to your mother really quick." He reaches into his pocket, pulling out his wallet and giving the girl his card. She eagerly takes it and thanks him, guiding Joon to the truck.
Him and Y/N watch as they get in line, bouncing up and down in excitement. "So, you needed to talk to me?" she asks, peeking at him.
"I just... everything is perfect. I love our children so much."
"Baby does too. She loves having tiny play buddies."
Jimin snickers, giving her hand a squeeze. "God, I love you." He brings her hand up, looking at the ring on her finger. He kisses it, then goes for her lips. She gladly connects her mouth with his, smiling into the kiss. Her free hand snakes up to his hair, grabbing at his blue locks. She pulls back and gives him a soft look. "You know, I think the kids could use another sibling. What do you think?" he asks, kissing her cheek.
She laughs, squeezing his wavy hair with her fingers. "Sure, I hope we get another boy so I don't have to give the period talk again."
He kisses her jawline as he chuckles, holding her close. "Can we make one tonight?" he whispers.
"I don't see why not. We could convince Tae to watch the kids, go to the lake for a bit..."
"Mmm, I've always wanted to have sex near the water..." She laughs as he pulls back, looking over at his two angels. Joon and Irene are next in line, laughing and talking to each other while Irene holds Jimin's credit card with her tiny hand. "Is Tae bringing Jungkook?" Jimin asks, his eyes still on the kids. She goes still besides him, making him peek over at her in concern. "Everything okay?"
Y/N looks at him in confusion. "Min... Jungkook died years ago."
"What?"
"I know it feels like he's still here sometimes, but he's gone," she says in a mutter.
"N-No. Wait, how?"
"His enhancements, remember?"
Jimin takes a step back, his hand slipping away from Y/N's. "He's... gone?"
"He has been for years. Come on, let's go back to Irene and Joon," she says, trying to distract him. Jimin manages to nod, tears falling down his cheeks.
He glances down, taking a deep breath, then looks back up to talk to her. She's gone. He blinks, rubbing his eyes. "Jagiya?" he asks, stepping forward. He peers around the grass, but everyone's gone. Including his kids. "Irene?! Joon?!" he calls, but there's no answer. "Oh God. Where are you?" he whispers, running to the sidewalk. "Y/N! Baby, where are you?" He sniffles once he hears no answer, panting and feeling tears burn at his eyes.
"Irene? Joon?" Again, no answer. He rushes down the concrete, finding another clearing not too far away. "Angel, where are you?!" Jimin sees a single person laying in the grass in the clearing. He gulps, going down the small lip and approaching. "Y/N? Baby, is that you?" As he gets closer, he notices it's a male figure, but he's too tall to be Joon. No, this is a fully grown man, not Jimin's son. The thought disappoints Jimin, but maybe this man can help him find his family.
"Hello? Excuse me, sir. I could use some help. M-My family, I don't know where they are..." Jimin stares at the man, then he gags once he notices the blood. He coughs and wheezes, his eyes burning as his tears fall. "F-Fuck that's vile," he says in a murmur, peeking at the corpse. What the hell is happening? He really needs to find his family. "Y/N! Irene! Joon!" he screams, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down as fear overtakes his body.
Jimin glances down at the corpse again, sniffling. His face is turned away from Jimin, so he walks to the other side to see who it is. He nearly falls back once he sees the face, his entire heart stopping. "N-No. Baekhyun... no!" Jimin kneels, inspecting the man's body. "Baekhyun? No, you can't be gone. No!" Jimin shakes the fallen pilot, trying to get him to wake up. "No," he whispers, realizing that he's gone. "Why me?" Jimin asks, realizing what's going on. "Stop doing this to me." Jimin places his forehead on the top of Baekhyun's head, crying softly. "I just want to wake up... please let me wake up..."
~10:23~
Jimin snaps awake, holding a hand over his bare chest. He relaxes once he sees the window not too far from their bed. The beach. He's in their beach house. He's alright. Jimin turns and sees Y/N groggily waking up, her body close to his. He leans back down and sinks into the pillows, entwining his hand with hers on his chest. They arrived last night but decided against going on the actual beach yet. She wanted to see it during the day time, so she tried to avoid even looking at it. That's kind of hard when their bedroom has a giant window with a perfect view of the sand, but it's the thought that counts.
There's curtains to cover the glass (very necessary for their night time activities), but for the first night, they decided against using them. They wanted to wake up and see the beautiful blue water. Jimin is grateful they made that decision. Now he can wake up in peace. That nightmare was rough. Granted, he got to see their future, but that doesn't change how terrifying it was. It seems as though his future consists of a lot of goods and bads.
Y/N peeps up, her eyes fluttering open. "Good morning, baby," he murmurs, kissing her nose.
"Everything okay?" she asks, and he flusters.
"I, uh..."
"Miiiin," she says in a groan, and he chuckles, wrapping his free arm around her body.
"I may or may not have had a dream about you."
"It's the morning, do I really need to suck you off already?" she asks.
"Well no, it was a cute dream, but feel free to." She snickers, diving under the covers. "Woah wait, I was joking-" His protests are cut short by her hands, pleasure tingling up and down his legs.
"Keep talking, I'm just gonna do some stuff."
He gulps, nodding as he feels his sweatpants and boxers being lowered. "I had a dream we were in a park," he starts, but once he feels her mouth, he goes still for a few moments. He lets out a rushed breath. "We were a little older, but only by a few years. We had kids. Irene and Joon Park." She hums, the vibration hitting him and he gasps at the sensation.
"I kissed you, and of course they teased us for sucking face in front of them." She doesn't reply, instead she keeps going. He's not complaining: the pleasure is fantastic. "H-Happy eight months, by the way."
She pops up, peeking out from under the covers. "Happy eight months," she says, smirking. They lock eyes, but no words are exchanged for a few moments. "Oh sorry, did you want me to keep going?" she teases, and he rapidly nods.
"Please do. We have a beach to explore."
Her eyes widen. "Oh shit, we do. Alright Min, I hate to phrase it this way, but for once can you be a minute man?" she asks.
"If you're good enough then-"
"Don't finish that sentence."
"Alright, I'll finish in your mouth instead." She rolls her eyes but gets flustered, going back down and throwing the thick blanket over her head and his lower half. He throws his head back as he feels her warm tongue work against him. "Fuck baby, don't stop..."
She doesn't, continuing to give him morning head. This is the best remedy for nightmares, he knows it now. He should probably tell her that, but he knows if he opens his mouth, he'll moan like a little bitch.
After a few minutes of her sucking him off, he releases inside her mouth like he said he would. She comes up smiling, giving him a kiss. He can taste himself on her but doesn't care. He brushes his hand across her cheek and deepens the kiss. Her lips leave his for a moment, about to switch sides when his hand stops her. Jimin pushes her hair out of her face, memorizing the look of her.
"You're the most gorgeous woman I've ever laid my eyes on," he whispers.
She furrow her brows. "Everything okay?"
"Am I not allowed to appreciate my girlfriend?" he asks, amusement in his tone.
She giggles, kissing his nose. "Of course you are, you're just acting strange. I gave you morning head and now you're getting all sappy on me? Something isn't adding up."
"It was the dream. Seeing you as my wife with our two kids? The most perfect life ever."
She presses her forehead against his, and the proximity has him stumbling over himself. "We'll get there one day. I know we will," she says. His lips dance across hers, bringing her body onto his and deepening their kiss. His actions scream 'I love you', and he's glad. He needs her to know it. She gingerly pulls away, her eyes opening and locking with his.
"Want to go to the beach now, Jagi?"
She hums. "I'd love nothing more."
Jimin watches as the girl swings around, hopping off of the bed and humming to herself. She goes to their dresser, opening it and throwing on a bathing suit. It's cute. A one piece, primarily black with strings holding it up. She ties said strings into a bow, turning back and glancing at him once she's done.
"Well?" she says. He realizes he's just staring and gulps, nodding before jumping off of the bed. He changes as fast as possible, refusing to put a swim shirt on. He shouldn't hide his beautiful abs from her. That has to be a war crime or something.
She snickers before entwining her hand with his. "Ready to feel the sand for the first time?" he asks with a cute smile. She leans up and gives his pouty lips a small peck. He starts to move, but she stops him. Jimin stares back at her in concern only to see her eyes staring back. She has pure love in her eyes, and the sight makes his heart melt.
"Hey Min?"
"Yes baby?"
"That dream about us being married and having kids? I had that dream too." His eyes jump at that. "A few days ago. Remember when you woke up to me kissing your face?" How can he forget that, it literally just happened. "That was why I did it. I was so happy I couldn't even describe it. So I thought maybe by shamelessly kissing you I could get my feelings across." He sniffles, refusing to cry right now. He walks toward her, bringing his free hand up to her cheek.
"I love you so much, Jagiya. No words or actions can describe how much."
"I feel the same way, Mochi."
He brushes her lips across hers, and the small kiss is enough to confirm their love for each other. She kisses him back softly, letting his thumb rub small circles on her cheek. Jimin pulls away, keeping his face close. He stares into her eyes, cherishing the feeling of her hot skin on his.
"I love you," he whispers.
She breaks out smiling. "I love you, Park Jimin." He places his forehead on hers, an indescribable feeling in his stomach. How is he so lucky? How?
They stay still for another few seconds, then the crashing of waves reminds them that they have a beach to get to. "Ready babe?" he asks.
"I get to see my first beach with you." He lets out a small 'awe' at her words, squeezing her hand and opening the door. He guides her outside, a ramp leading down from their house to the beach. They only rented out the beautiful beach house, but maybe he should just buy it. They're rich, and when the Earth Mars war starts again he's sure they'll be even richer. A beach house is probably nothing right now.
They head down the ramp, Y/N glancing around the beach with awe. It's rather empty this morning, very few people scattered around. There's an area with plenty of rocks, rather secluded from plain view. He should bring her there. So, he does just that. He practically pushes her onto the sand. She lets out a 'woah' as her bare feet touch the hot surface. Time seems to go still for a moment. Her toes dig in to the substance.
"Happy eight months, princess," he murmurs, back-hugging her and kissing her neck.
"Wow, Min this is..." she starts, but she can't even finish the sentence. "Eight months," she whispers instead, leaning into his hug while staring at the ground. "We've really lasted eight months."
"Somehow," he jokes, causing her to chuckle.
"Here's to plenty more, right?"
"Hopefully years, not months," he replies, continuing his barrage of kisses against her neck.
"You said it yourself: six months marks us as serious. What are we now?"
He shrugs, savoring her sweet skin while he moves around it. He takes a moment to pull back, his lips still close to her. "Really serious?" he asks, waggling his brows.
She giggles. "Like how serious?"
"Like... really, really serious." Without another word, he goes back to trailing his lips down her exposed neck. She's focusing on the beach, but he doesn't mind.
"As much as I'd love to make out with you endlessly..."
"You want to feel the water?" Jimin asks. She hums, snickering. "A few more?"
"Fiiiine." He chuckles against her skin, giving her neck the pampering it deserves. He leaves a trail of kisses from the back of her shoulder to her jawline, holding her tightly.
"I love you, baby. You know that?"
"I know, Mochi. I know." He's said those words a lot today, but it is a special day. Eight months isn't easy to reach for a lot of people. They're fortunate. They love and support each other. It's honestly sad that it's rare, but it is.
"Let's go swim, baby," he murmurs, finally moving away from her back. She entwines her hand with his and nods, dragging him off towards the waves. He laughs the whole way there, rushing into the water with her. His burning feet relax, relief flowing through his veins. It's so hot outside: water is exactly what he needed. She lets go of his hand momentarily to keep moving, letting the water come up to her knees.
"Woah baby, slow down," he says in a whine, sprinting after her. She laughs in response, continuing to go in until the water is up to her hips. He pants as he slows to a stop next to her, riding the waves.
"Oh um, I'm not the strongest swimmer," she says, sheepishly smiling. He smiles back, standing next to her and kissing the top of her head. That makes sense: she grew up on Ganymede. The only pools she's probably been to were at hotels, and she had no real need to go to hotels from what he can tell.
"I'll help you, baby." She nods as another big wave comes near. She gulps, jumping just as the water crashes into them. Jimin laughs as the saltiness of the ocean hits him. She lets out a small yelp.
"Ewww why does it taste like that?" she asks.
He giggles, holding her and shaking his head. "The ocean is saltier than Seulgi."
"I'm telling her you said that."
"Oh gosh not you too-"
She cuts him off by giggling as another wave, this one bigger, comes close. She jumps in fear, the wave hitting her hard. She loses her balance and falls over, making him worried. "Baby?!" he says as she goes under. The wave passes, causing her to fall back with it. He goes after her, swimming to her body as she breaks through to the surface. She comes up with a look of surprise in her eyes.
"Hey, baby are you okay?" he asks in a panic, bringing her up against his chest. She coughs, some water hitting his chest. Another wave comes, but he's protecting her so it doesn't move them this time. "Baby girl?" he asks. She peeps up at him, smiling.
"I'm okay."
He lets out a sigh of relief, kissing the top of her head. "Maybe not this far out yet, okay?"
"Okay," she says. He helps her up, waddling back to knee deep water and sighing in relief once he sees the waves are much, much smaller. "Thanks for being my knight in shining armor, Jiminie," she teases, poking his cheek.
He giggles, wrapping an arm around her waist. "Now I'm not letting you go." She goes quiet for a moment, causing him to look down at her. "Baby?" he asks.
She bites her lower lip. "Hey Min?"
"Hm?"
"Can you uh... can you maybe..."
"What is it, babe?"
She fiddles with her fingers. "Can you teach me how to swim?" He breaks out smiling, unable to help himself. He gives her a cute peck on the lips, guiding her back to the shallow water.
"Of course I can, princess. I'd love to."
"Did you swim a lot growing up?" she asks, and he hums.
"Jihyun loves the beach, we went at least four times a year. At least. It's honestly a little scary how much that boy loves water. Since him and I were partners in crime..."
"You both swam a lot."
"Exactly. So don't be shy, let me teach my baby how to swim." She doesn't disagree. "Alright, first, let's see what you got so far." She does as she's told, laying down and letting the water cover her. She pushes off, swimming like a little puppy. "You're adorable babe, but that's horrible technique." She pouts, kneeling and halting her movements. "Are you a visual learner, Jagi?" She nods. "Perfect, then just watch me, okay?" He does a small demonstration, doing a basic stroke. Jimin makes sure his entire body is on display for her as he moves his arms and legs together. He stops once he's in front of her, smiling. "That's a freestyle."
"Freestyle?" she asks.
"Freestyle stroke. I could always teach you a backstroke or butterfly if you wan-"
"I can barely do a doggy paddle, Mimi. I'll try the freestyle first." He giggles as she follows his demonstration, mimicking his actions and using her arm and leg muscles. He can't help but lick his lower lip as she swims back to him. "How was that?" she asks.
"Damn baby..."
"Shut up!"
Jimin laughs, nearly falling into the water as she splashes at him. "O-Oh, another important thing," he says, shaking his head as he dials down from his laughter. "If you feel yourself being pulled out to sea, don't panic or exhaust yourself. Swim parallel to the current and yell for help. I'll be by you the whole time, but just in case we get separated. I don't want anything happening to my baby."
She paddles up to him, giving his plump lips a quick peck. "Thanks babe."
"You're welcome," he replies confidently, smugly smiling. "Rip currents are dangerous, Jagi. The ocean in general is, so don't go too far okay?" Overprotective Jimin alert. He's not ashamed: if anything happened to her, he's not sure what he'd do.
"I won't, don't worry. I'm not that confident in my swimming. I think I need a few more laps before I can even remotely swim."
"Then we'll take those laps together, okay?" he asks.
"I'd like that."
Jimin gives her another kiss, smiling into it. She smiles back, pulling away after only a few seconds. "Let's go swim, okay?" he asks, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Let's go swim."
He pushes off, her right next to him as they freestyle together. Her form is far from perfect, but it's definitely better than her little doggy paddle from before. Jimin can't help but feel his heart burst from happiness. Whenever he looks at her, he knows it. He loves her more than anything. This is his one right next to him. He loves being dramatic, but for once he doesn't think he's being that. He's dead serious. Jimin loves her. So, he gulps, trying to focus on swimming.
He has to marry her. He just has to.
