A/N: This chapter is pretty much just the Jibooty and I'm not sorry
~~~
Jimin bounces up and down, anxiousness creeping up his spine as he follows his crew. "You ready?" Namjoon asks, and Jimin shakes his head.
"Not at all." He's not sure why he's nervous, but this is a big moment. For the first time, he's going to see her. Really see her. The entire crew is heading towards the medbay together. Namjoon leads the way, keeping his posture straight. He really does look like a Captain. He just lost his friends, but he's still pushing through. Jimin respects that massively.
They stop in front of the familiar red door, Namjoon stepping forward. He pauses to sigh. "Don't scare her. Please."
Baekhyun chuckles. "No promises. Pilots get along well, I might come off as..."
"Eccentric?" Hoseok finishes.
The Pilot nods. "Eccentric. I'll try not to completely scar her for life." Namjoon sighs. Jimin can practically hear his thoughts. 'I don't get paid enough for this', is probably what the Captain is thinking.
Namjoon lets out one last breath before stepping up to the comm and pressing on it. "Y/N, good afternoon. I have the whole crew with me." There's a small pause.
"Good afternoon, I'm excited to formally meet everyone. That little slab of glass hasn't exactly been... helpful."
Namjoon chuckles. "I agree, I may have met you already, but these rookies haven't. Everyone, let's meet Y/N L/N officially."
Jimin watches as Namjoon presses the button to release the poor girl. The door hisses, taking a moment before fully opening. His eyes adjust to the new space, blinking a few times before locating the girl in the center of the room. Jimin stares at the girl in amazement. She's beautiful. He got a glimpse of her once, but this is different. She has to be one of the most gorgeous women he's ever laid his eyes on. His heart speeds up as her eyes meet his.
Jimin feels his air leave his body as he meets her eyes. The way he falls in to them, the way she scans over him. He loves it. He craves more of her eyes. Jimin tries to hide his nervous state, calming his face and focusing on staring at the girl. "Jimin?" she asks. Oh gosh, and the way his name rolls off her tongue. He's not sure what it is, but there's something about the way she says his name that makes his tongue go dry. Since he can't verbally reply, he nods instead. Her eyes linger on him, his heart refusing to slow down. After another two seconds, her eyes go to the others.
The rest of the noise falls away. All that matters is the noise in Jimin's mind. He keeps staring at her, drinking in her presence. What the fuck is this feeling? Why is his heart refusing to slow down? Why is he forgetting how to breathe? Everything has fallen apart, but when he looks at her, it's like none of that matters. She says something to Seulgi, but again, all noises leave Jimin's senses. All he can hear is his own thoughts.
After a few moments, Y/N starts forward. The crew parts for her, watching as she strolls by. Out of instinct, Jimin goes right after her. "What are you doing?" Baekhyun asks as the crew follows her to the cockpit.
"Staring at the controls and trying not to bust a nut." Jimin nearly chokes on his spit, trying not to laugh at her words as she takes a seat in the pilot's chair. She looks at the controls with amazement in those gorgeous eyes.
"Hey, this is my baby!" Baekhyun says in a whine, causing Y/N to give him a smug smile.
"Wow, you're beautiful," she whispers.
Jimin sits down next to her in the co-pilot's chair, gazing at the controls with furrowed brows. "You know, back in university, they made us go through a course on flying. I still don't understand the controls though."
She laughs. "It takes a long time to learn, much more than a single course." Jimin is about to reply, to try to say something to get his mind off of his racing heart, but Namjoon approaches and interrupts him.
"The engineer and the pilot, huh?"
Jimin nods. "I guess so."
The girl smiles up at Namjoon. "From the looks of it, the Athena is in pretty good shape. Man I'd love to get a ship a little bit larger than this one day." Her eyes flicker over to Jimin, which makes his current nervous state even worse. Her eyes widen as she looks out at the stars, her body slightly coming up off the seat. "Wow," she whispers, her eyes holding tears.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Jimin says as Namjoon goes back to join the crew near the entrance. Jimin doesn't care about the stars. He wasn't even talking about them. Jimin's staring right at her. She meets his eyes, her breath getting caught in her throat for a moment.
"I've never looked up and not seen the giant Red Dot staring right back at me."
He gives her a sad look. "That sounds... terrifying." He's trying to pay attention to her words, but her eyes draw him in so much.
She sighs, sinking back down to her seat. "It was. There was never anything special about being close to a Gas Giant." They share a comfortable silence, Jimin still watching her with curiosity. He feels weird just staring at her, but he can't help it. His eyes refuse to look anywhere else. The sparks and fireworks erupting in his body make him confused. This isn't just nervousness. What is it?
"Gorgeous," she whispers. An idea pops into Jimin's head, so, he acts on it.
"Thanks, I try." She goes still, slowly looking over at him. He offers her a smirk, which makes her burst out laughing.
"That is so something I would say."
He tries not to fluster at her words. "I'm not going to lie, that was the first time I've made a joke like that. This whole confidence thing is new to me." She smiles, giving his shoulder a nudge. He goes still at the contact, his skin tingling like crazy. Does she feel this too? Is it only him?
"It suits you."
His eyes light up. "You think?" She hums, smiling. "The other crewmates are watching us just so you know."
"Oh I know," she replies, looking back at them. "What, you guys never see a female before?" Jimin laughs, watching as Hoseok and Baekhyun turn red. "How many quarters are on this ship?"
"Eight, so we definitely have one for you. I'll show you it, if you'll follow me this way," Namjoon says. Y/N slips out of the chair, giving Jimin one last glance with a soft smile before following Namjoon. Jimin's gaze stays on her form as she walks away. That's when it hits him: he doesn't want her to leave. He wants her to stay. As soon as she's out of sight, he instantly wants to see her again.
He lets out a breath he didn't know he was holding, as cliché as that sounds. His heart filling with joy. Seulgi glances at him, noticing his strange behavior but refusing to comment on it. "Shit," Jimin whispers, staring back up at the stars. In a strange way, even though she's not in the room, he feels connected to her. Like a mental connection. Maybe it's because he's under the stars, or maybe it's something else...
~12:00~
Jimin stares at the ring, coming out of his memory of meeting her for the first time. If only he knew back then where it would end up. He twirls the jewel around his tiny fingers, appreciating the cool metal and trying not to overthink this. Just get on one knee and propose. It's not that hard. Probably.
He groans. He's not even proposing today: he's not sure when, actually. Still isn't. Jimin has a lot going on right now to say the least. He's a businessman who just witnessed his two best friends being married, he has to set up the day he proposes to his girlfriend, and to top it all off, he's planning a party. Like a second reception for the wedding, except it's mostly an excuse to drink.
"So are you gonna just stare at your ring or are you gonna help?" Seulgi asks, tapping on Jimin's shoulder. He jumps, whipping around and meeting the girl's eyes. She raises a brow. "Well?"
"Y-Yeah, sorry." He places the ring back in the box, shoving it into his pocket. Everyone knows about his plan to marry Y/N. Well, except for Sapphire and Anya, and of course Y/N. That's kind of the whole point. So at every turn he's being teased for it. They're lucky Y/N's in class right now. Jimin got the week off since next week he'll be going on a small business trip. The day after the party he'll be going to Massachusetts to scout for Johnathan. He wants to see if he can expand the business to more than just New York.
Jimin can respect that. Expanding the empire, maybe make it more of a national thing. He'll be inspecting office buildings, conducting surveys, printing out flyers for their online website: all that fun stuff. And of course by the end of his five day long business trip, he'll have to give a detailed synopsis of the goods and bads of opening their business in another state.
He follows Seulgi into the bar, watching as Hoseok, Yoongi, and Jin count how many paper plates they have. "Jin, how are the speakers?" Seulgi asks.
"One hundred percent operational. You want color-changing lights too?"
"Nothing beats playing pool under purple lights," Seulgi replies. Jin nods in agreement, writing that down in his tablet.
"What else do we need?" Jimin asks.
"Well all the decorations can wait until the day before, for now we need to make sure the checklist is right," Seulgi explains.
As if on cue, Yoongi comes over holding the digital checklist, showing it to Jimin. "Plates, napkins, a lot of take out, decorations..." Jimin keeps muttering the items as he scans down the list.
"Everything seem right, Capt?" Hoseok asks.
"Um, no. We're missing something." The others go still. "You wrote down 'a lot of take out' but not 'a lot of alcohol'. How could you forget that?"
Seulgi sighs. "Leave it to Jimin to remember that."
"Someone buy anti-horny pills for Jimin too," Yoongi says in a grumble.
"What? I won't need those!" Jimin says with a scowl.
"Yes honey, yes you will," Seulgi replies, shaking her head.
"I can contain my horniness!"
"Oh look, Y/N's walking down the stairs naked!" Yoongi shouts.
"Where?!" Jimin looks right at the stairs, but his girl isn't there. He pouts. "Okay, that was just mean."
"But it proves my point. She could walk in and call you 'daddy' and suddenly we wouldn't see you for a good ten minutes," Yoongi says.
"Probably twenty. Just going one round is boring."
"I hate you."
"I hate you too, Yoons."
Hoseok rolls his eyes. "Sober Jimin is horny enough. Drunk Jimin is somehow even worse."
"How would you know?"
"Remember the party where you got promoted to platinum?" Hoseok asks.
"I got wasted, how would I know?"
"Exactly. Y/N escorted you to bed and came back with hickies. Explain that."
Jimin gulps. "Maybe she fell-"
"Riiight. And you two weren't even together at that point. Go to horny jail, Jimin," Hoseok says, huffing.
Jimin pouts again. "Do you want my help or not?"
"Not really." "No." "Eh."
"Wow," Jimin replies. "Seulgi, you were the one who brought me down here!"
"And I regret it."
Jimin frowns. "So mean. My own crew doesn't like me. You know what? You're all demoted."
"I take it back!" Seulgi says in a squeak.
"Too late. Demoted. All of you back to bronze."
"Wow, that was uncalled for," Yoongi says.
"You speaking was uncalled for." Yoongi blinks at him. "I'll go back to staring at my ring now-"
"Waaait Jimin, we do need you. How else will we remember the booze?" Hoseok asks.
Jimin sighs. "There's only one way we can solve this..." Jimin smirks, causing the crew to gulp. "Yoongi, you said Y/N was walking down the stairs naked. Go find her and make that come true..."
~14:56~
Jungkook glances around in amazement, his hand in Tae's as the sun shines on them. "I'm convinced Venice is the most gorgeous place on this planet," Jungkook says, and Tae giggles in agreement. They stroll down the sidewalk, the sights absolutely stunning to the pair.
"City of boats, right?" Tae asks, and Jungkook nods.
"City of boats. We should definitely get on one before we leave."
"Why not right now?"
"Right now? Well that's up to- woah!" Tae pulls Jungkook away with a laugh, bringing him up onto a bridge. "Also the city of bridges," Jungkook says as he looks at the view. Gorgeous. Breathtaking, really. There's pristine water and several red and white buildings and boats littering the liquid below them.
"Shit, I see why. Look at this! This is amazing! Now we have to get on a boat. Right now," Tae says.
"Alright, lead the way. Let's get a gondola tour, shall we?"
"Oooh fancy wording, I like," Tae teases, giving Jungkook's hand a squeeze before moving off the bridge.
They go down to the streets near the water, several boats lined up on the side. There's a small dock up ahead, so Tae leads him there. It's day time, so the rides should be cheaper. Equally as romantic. Plus, they can come back at night and do it again if they really want to. Honestly doing it both at day and at night sounds like a fun time. Jungkook would love to take Tae out on the water under the stars. Maybe make out a little bit. Just a little though.
There's a man waiting for them at the dock, looking up as they approach. "Good afternoon," Tae says, and the man warmly smiles.
"Hey hey! Good afternoon, welcome to my docks! Interested in a gondola ride?" he replies. Of course he has a thick accent, but it adds to his character, so Jungkook smiles.
"Of course, how much?"
"80 euros for half an hour."
Taehyung leans to Jungkook. "Is that good?" he whispers.
"Just because I'm an Intelligence Officer doesn't mean I know everything, babe. Even I, the great Jeon Jungkook-"
"We'll take it," Taehyung says loudly, interrupting Jungkook.
The Executive snickers, watching as the man goes over to the edge of the dock. He brings a gondola forward, motioning for them to hop in. They do, sitting down and smiling to each other. The boat itself is large and black. Very elegant to say the least. The seats they're in are red, matching the color of Jungkook's enhancements. Hopefully nothing happens that will bring that color out, but it's a nice, almost comforting thought.
Tae holds Jungkook's hand, nuzzling into his side as the boat takes off. The man hums to himself, pushing the boat away from the dock and commencing their tour of the water. Jungkook lets a bunny smile grace his features as he peeks around at the many buildings painted in solid, bright colors. Lots of bright reds, whites, yellows. All that fun stuff. There's even a pastel blue one up ahead.
"Hey Tae?" Jungkook says, causing the boy to look at him. Jungkook smiles, leaning closer to him. "This is perfect. If you asked me five years ago what my perfect, ideal life would be. It would be this."
"You didn't know me back then," Taehyung teases.
"I would have said the love of my life with me, and you're just that sooo..."
"Fair, we're here on our honeymoon after all," Tae says, adding a lot of emphasis on the word 'honeymoon'. "I have something to tell you too." Jungkook raises a brow. "If you asked me five years ago what my perfect, ideal life would be-"
Jungkook cuts him off by laughing. "You're too cute."
"I was going to say it would be this but more sex." Jungkook blinks. Oh. More sex. Taehyung smirks at Jungkook's flustered face. Yeah, there's a man like five feet away from them operating the gondola, and Tae is talking about sex. Jungkook's mortified to say the least.
"Why did I agree to marrying you again?" Jungkook asks. Tae reveals a boxy smile. "Oh yeah. Thanks for the reminder," Jungkook teases. Tae snickers, giving Jungkook's cheek a kiss before looking back out at the sights. A lot of other gondolas pass, some of the passengers even waving to them. Of course, being the cheeky bitches they are, Jungkook and Taehyung wave back. But not only that, they wave back very intensely. Very, very intensely.
"We're crackheads," Tae says.
"Nooo, what gives you that idea?" Tae snickers, shaking his head at Jungkook. For a moment, they lock eyes and just kind of stare. Jungkook loses his breath, his eyes falling into Tae's. One of the most romantic places on Earth, and they're on a boat ride. Should he go for it? The answer is obviously hell yes. Yes he really, really should. Jungkook was raised to be a big baller, so that's exactly what he's going to do.
Jungkook kisses Tae, who's surprised but kisses back right away. Jungkook smiles, cupping Tae's cheek with one hand. It's a delicate, sweet kiss. A kiss they definitely needed after the life they've had. It's almost like it makes up for all the bad, in a strange way. Maybe that makes him a little weird, but Jungkook doesn't care. If a kiss can cure all of his problems, then why not let it help? He'll kiss Tae all day if he has to.
He pulls back in time to see the sun shining directly overhead. It's like a spotlight beaming down at Tae and Jungkook in particular. Taehyung smiles, looking over at Jungkook once again. For what feels like the thousandth time today, they meet each other's eyes and instantly fall in. Jungkook loves this boy more than anything. He's said it before, but he needs to say it again. So, he speaks.
"I love you, Tae." The boy kisses his cheek in response, giving Jungkook's hand a solid squeeze as the breeze brushes by them.
"I love you too, Jungkook."
Jungkook lights up at that, booping his nose off of Tae's. "Can I tell you something?" Jungkook asks.
"Probably. Unless you lose the ability to talk in the next five seconds."
"You're ridiculous. What I was going to say was that I'm glad I married you."
"Still glad?"
Jungkook gets serious, using his free hand to cherish the skin on Tae's face. "I'm so, so glad Tae. You have no idea how much you mean to me."
"I think I do."
"Oh yeah? Why's that?" Jungkook asks. To his surprise, Tae grins.
"Because you mean the same amount to me."
~22:00~
"What's this?" Seulgi asks, raising a brow at the crew.
"Come on, let's do it," Hoseok says, holding the thing in his hand. All of them are holding one except for her.
"What are those?"
"Lanterns, duh!"
"Sky lanterns," Jimin clarifies.
"Where the hell did you get those?" Seulgi asks, looking over the rectangular items. They appear as thin as paper, an opening underneath them.
"Dollar Store," Jimin says.
"Holy shit, Earth has Dollar Stores?" Yoongi asks, eyes wide.
"Yeah, had them since well before we were born. Why?" Jimin asks.
"Those were myths on Triton. Legend had it that Earth was the only place that had them."
"Well, I guess in a way the legends were true."
"What do we do with them?" Seulgi asks in confusion.
"You light the burner and watch it go up into the sky," Jimin explains. "Figured it gave us something to do tonight. Take a break from the party." Seulgi slowly nods in understanding. Her artsy side is loving this despite how confusing it is. Who had the idea of making lanterns out of paper? Aren't lanterns supposed to be a really old way of lighting rooms? Whatever, Seulgi doesn't feel like thinking about it.
"Alright, then let's go outside and do it. Yoongi, you got a lighter?" Hobi asks.
"No but I know where one is."
"Why am I not surprised," Hoseok says before giving Yoongi a playful nudge.
"I know where you sleep."
"I'll keep the door unlocked," Hoseok replies.
"Someone's not waking up tomorrow," Jimin says.
"I'm so done with you people," Seul says with a huff.
"Seulgi! Even me?!" Hoseok says, whining like a baby.
"Yes, even you. Especially you. You're whipped for both Yoongi and Jimin."
Hoseok blinks. "Have you seen Yoongi." He points to the man. "Have you seen Jimin?" Again, another point.
"Yes, your point?" Seul asks.
"They're hot!"
Jimin smirks while Yoongi sighs. "Come on, Seul. It's not my fault my ass is bigger than your problems. Who wouldn't be whipped for that?" Jimin asks.
Everyone stares at him. "Wait, now I'm curious. Turn around," Hoseok says.
"Oh my God-" She cuts herself off when Jimin turns around. Oh... oh. Oh shit. He... may or may not have a fat ass. Seulgi doesn't want to admit it, but yeah, it's bigger than her problems. Jimin has a shit-eating grin on his face, watching each member's reaction. Yoongi licks his lower lip, then moves forward.
"Hey guys what did I-"
'Slap'
Jin stares in astonishment at the scene he walked into. Yoongi just slapped Jimin's ass. Not Hoseok. Not Seulgi. Not even Jimin himself. Yoongi. Min Yoongi just slapped Park Jimin's ass. Jimin stares at Yoongi in shock for a moment, then slowly smirks. "Harder."
"Bye!" Jin yells, running back up the stairs.
"I hate you," Seulgi says to Jimin.
The Captain only shrugs. "Well now I know I like spanking. I thought it was me doing the spanking not receiving-"
"Shut up."
"Yes ma'am."
"At least he didn't say 'harder daddy'," Hoseok grumbles, which Yoongi nods in agreement to.
"You!" Seulgi says, pointing to Yoongi. The man raises a brow. "Why? Why did you do that?"
"Does anyone care that Jin left?" Jin's voice yells from the top of the stairs.
"No!" they call back in-sync.
"Anyway," Seulgi says, glaring at Yoongi. "Why would you spank the horniest member of our crew? I'm half surprised he didn't moan."
"Oh, did you want to hear one? Go ahead, Yoons. It's a big target, try again," Jimin replies, wiggling his ass around.
"Min Yoongi, I will tell your girlfriend that while she's gone you're spanking another man," Seulgi says.
"Do it."
Seulgi stares, preparing to hear Jimin make a sinful noise. "Just... get it over with."
"Seulgi, we've heard him moan before. Pretty loudly too. Remember when-"
"Yes. That led to me sucking your dick. I remember," she says, giving Hoseok a glare.
"Woah, that led to you getting head?" Jimin asks Hoseok, who nods. Jimin looks so proud. Despite all their hardships and accomplishments, Jimin still looks more proud now than he ever did during their journey together. "Good shit dude! Congrats!" They high five, leaving Seulgi to question her life decisions. "If you want, I'll fuck Y/N here more often so you can-"
"Shut up Jimin," Seul says.
"Rude."
Hoseok smirks. "Good idea."
"Not you too!" Seulgi says, whining.
Jimin motions to Yoongi. "Well? My ass is on display." Yoongi pokes it. "Harder daddy," Jimin says, batting his eyelashes at Yoongi.
"I hate you." "Jimin shut up." "Jesus Christ."
Jimin peeks around at the three with bewilderment in his eyes. "What? I'm tryna get spanked."
"Go home, Jimin!" Seulgi says.
"Home is right here," Y/N's voice says from behind them.
Jimin snaps up, staring at the girl who's standing at the end of the stairs. "Baby!" he shouts, rushing over to her.
He engulfs her in his arms and spins her around, making her laugh. Okay, even Seulgi has to admit, that's cute. She knows it won't be cute for too much longer, but still. Once he sets her back down, they kiss, causing everyone to gag. "Get a room!" Seulgi says.
Jimin pulls away from her lips to stare at Seulgi. "You'll still be able to hear us, so what's the difference?"
"I hate you."
"Wait, babe?" Y/N asks, causing Jimin to hum. "Can you turn around?"
Jimin immediately does. "Oh God no-" And of course, she slaps his ass... hard. Poor Jimin is so shocked that he makes a noise that sounds like a mixture of a moan, a yelp, and a gasp.
"Shit, I really am into spanking," Jimin says.
"Can we go throw the lanterns now?" Seulgi asks. They've been talking about spanking too much, and it's scaring her. She's supposed to be an innocent little girl, but no. Jimin and Y/N had to ruin it for her. And maybe Hoseok. Just maybe.
"Sure honey," Hoseok says with a smile. He leads the way up the stairs, the rest following. Jin waits for them at the top, letting out a dramatic sigh as soon as everyone appears.
"Oh finally, you guys missed me. I know, I know. My face is gorgeous you don't have to tell me." The entire crew mentally agrees to ignore Jin. In fact, they all walk right past him. Everyone can hear his scoff. "Rude!" he calls, but no one answers. Seulgi struggles to stifle her laugh as they make their way to the grand staircase.
They go up the stairs, following Hoseok to the balcony. Soon enough, they're all there, the wind brushing by their skin. They all look like models right now. Seulgi can't help but swing her hair back sassily, feeling like she's a movie character about to do something badass as fuck.
Hoseok heads over to her, handing her his lantern. "Yoongi, want to get the lighter?" Hoseok says.
"I got it on the way up."
"What? How?" Hoseok asks in disbelief.
"Magic," Yoongi blankly replies, yawning.
"That man really is magic," Hoseok murmurs, shaking his head.
Jimin turns to Y/N. "What are you doing here, by the way?"
"I missed you, is that a bad reason?"
He softly smiles. "No babe, of course not-"
"Jimin, shh. I wasn't talking to you." He looks offended as she points to a smirking Yoongi. "I was talking to him."
"Hell yeah, Muffin. You know it." They fist bump, which leaves Jimin standing there regretting his life decisions.
"Welp, I guess I'm not getting laid tonight," Jimin says with a pout.
"Or spanked," Yoongi points out.
"Or spanked," Jimin repeats, disappointment evident in his tone.
"Damn, now I want to be spanked," Hoseok says.
"Alright, for one minute can we stop talking about spanking?" Seulgi begs.
"Alright, I'll start the timer," Yoongi says with yet another yawn.
"Yoongi, I really love you, do you know that?" Y/N asks.
"Love you too, kiddo. Love you too."
"He did not just call you that," Jimin says in a groan.
"Lanterns?" Jin asks, making Seulgi mentally cry in relief.
"Yes! Thank you so so so much, Jin. I could kiss you right now," Seulgi says.
"Ayo chill, these rich lips ain't free."
"I take it back." Hoseok takes the lighter from Yoongi, trotting over and taking the lantern from Jin as well. Jin brought a whole bag full of them, so they have plenty. Hopefully they can stop talking about spanking for a couple minutes so they can enjoy the nice night.
It really is a nice one. The Moon is shining brightly, the stars are out, there's not that much wind, the temperature is perfect: it's a great night for something like this. Maybe for once they can have some nice, cute, PG conversations. With Jimin and Y/N here, that's probably not going to happen, but they can try. Jin approaches Seulgi, holding the bag of lanterns. She lights up, taking one out and thanking the man.
She watches as Hoseok lights his, looking at Seulgi before pushing it up into the air. She stares in amazement, eyes wide as the thing floats higher and higher in the air. "Wow," she whispers as Hoseok approaches. He wraps an arm around her, and she leans closer. "They're beautiful."
Y/N lights one too, getting Jimin to hold it with her. "Together?" she whispers, and Jimin smiles.
"You and me." The two push it, theirs joining Hoseok's. Seulgi lets out a small sigh before looking at hers. "You want to go next, Seul?" Jimin asks as Y/N passes him the lighter.
"Sure," she replies. She takes the lighter, preparing to activate it when she thinks of something. Her brows furrow together as she looks at the white paper making up the lantern.
"Seul? You okay?" Hoseok asks, rubbing her back.
"Better than okay. Do we have markers anywhere? Paint? Anything?" Although they're confused, they nod. "Can someone get me some?"
"On it," Jin replies.
Within only a minute, he comes back into the room, holding a blue box of markers. She snatches it from him, thanking him before kneeling. The crew watches her as she opens the box, going right for the black, red, and sky blue markers. She draws two flowers with the sky blue, then she reaches for the red marker and writes a name. Everyone's eyes widen in shock. Now for the black marker. She uncaps it, preparing to write.
"Hey Jimin?" she asks.
"Hm?"
"What's the best way to say father in Korean?"
He purses his lips for a moment, glancing at the name she wrote on the lantern before answering. "Abeoji," he replies.
Seulgi smiles at him. "Spelling?"
"A-b-e-o-j-i," he spells out, and she hums as she copies it onto the lantern.
"Thanks," she whispers as she stands. She makes sure to hold the lantern, not pushing it up just yet. "Together?" she asks, and everyone nods. All at once, the entire crowd places their hand under the lantern. "I wish we had a picture of his wife and daughter, but for now, this will do."
"For Kai," Y/N murmurs.
"For Kai," the others reply. The lantern has two cute sky blue flowers, 'Kai' and 'Abeoji' written between the two flowers. What better to way to honor their fallen friend than by putting him in the sky? Wherever he is, Seulgi hopes he's at peace. He deserves it.
Seulgi lights it. Then, together, they push it up. They watch as the thing soars through the sky, illuminating their awestruck faces. "Wow," Jin whispers.
Even Jin has a soft spot for stuff like this. Seulgi can't hide her smile, hugging Hoseok and appreciating him being here. "Goodbye, Kai," Hoseok whispers, and Seulgi hums at his words.
"Goodbye, Kai. You will be missed."
