Athena had been walking down the stairs when she heard the ending to Klaus and Rebekah's conversation. "There's something fundamentally wrong with you." Rebekah said and stood to leave the house giving Athena a light smile on the way out. Athena followed Rebekah with her eyes and turned back to Klaus who was casually sipping his drink with a look that seemed like he was in thought. "I'll assume that went well." Athena said and stood in entrance way of the parlor. Klaus only gave Athena a side glance and placed his cup down before standing to walk over to Athena.

"I'll be having a friend over later. Please play nice, 'Thena." Klaus said and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Athena only made a face and leaned on her side before going to the kitchen to get her something to eat. Along the way Athena's phone rang. "Hello?" She answers and takes a sip of her orange juice. "Athena I'm just checking in." Louis had said from the other side of the phone. Athena made a small smile knowing he father is ok. "Everything is fine. Nothing to worry about. He hasn't done anything rational." Athena said and looked out to Klaus standing in the parlor. "Well since we left." She added and turned back to the fridge.

"That's good. Elijah is just going through his fever stage." Louis said. Athena let out a hum in acknowledgment. A knock on the front door had Athena turning and telling her father good bye before walking out to where Niklaus stood. Camille walked in and gave Athena a small wave. Athena only gave Camille a nod in return seeing as she sometimes didn't like the human for being the person Klaus preferred to walk to instead of her. "I'll be in my art room." Athena said and began to walk upstairs. Camille turned to Klaus with frowned eyebrows. "She doesn't like me much does she?" Camille asked making Klaus chuckle. "She is just jealous, darling. Nothing too serious." Klaus said and lead Camille to the parlor.

Athena began to clean up her studio when she stopped halfway to the kitchen when she heard Niklaus and Camille bickering some. "-Look at you. Repeating the same destructive cycles over and over again. You are the architect of you own unhappiness. You're 1,000 years old pretty sure you know how to type. Truth is, you only have one person to talk to, but you don't talk to her because you're scared she'll change her point of view on you. So you compel me to be understood which leads you to compelling me again to forgot all of this, once again being to scared to trust." Athena looks down at the floor feeling upset at how much Camille was right about Klaus not telling her anything. But at least now she knew he didn't tell her anything because he was scared she'll leave him.

"-This is my own time, you steal it from me." Camille snaps and snatches a paper away from Klaus. "You can leave now, Camille." Athena finally stepped into the conversation when things got heated. "We're not do-" Athena stopped Klaus from talking anymore. "I said she can leave. Seems she needs it." Athena glared at Klaus making him shrink some and look to the floor. Camille gave Athena a grateful smile on the way out and Athena only glanced at her. Athena turned back to Klaus with her arms crossed. "I'll assume you'd like to talk." Klaus says and folds his hands together. "Not like you'd say anything to me. I might change my point of view on you." Athena snaps and begins to walk out the parlor back to her art room.

"Do you feel ok, knowing Klaus could've bitten you?" Hayley asked Louis wrapping her arms around her knees. They were sitting outside by the bayou as they let Elijah sleep. "I do not fear death nor do I fear Niklaus. I've been with him for hundreds of years, I've learned to accept his temper." Louis said casually and looked out to the bayou. "The only thing I fear is leaving Athena in my death. I've kept her hidden from this nasty world and from all the things that want to kill her because of who she was born to." Louis added and looked down at his hands with a sigh. "Do you miss her? Your wife?" Hayley suddenly asked feeling as though she'd liked to know about Louis's old love. Louis let out a chuckle and looked down at the remembrance of his wife.

"Oh I miss her terribly. The feeling of knowing you wont be with the woman you love anymore. It is a pain to have but I don't share it alone." Louis said and turned to Hayley. "As you may know Klaus wasn't always the way he is." Louis stated. "Yeah, he snapped when someone he loved died." Louis gave Hayley a small smile. "That someone was my sister. When Lucinda died I realized the pain Klaus has been in for hundreds of years. I finally saw why he is what he is." Louis said and looked over at Hayley. "What made you realize you were turning into Klaus?" Hayley asked. "Athena did. I had my daughter, the one thing a vampire couldn't possible have but I had it for myself. I loved her some much because I knew she was special."

"So I stayed the same because of her. I couldn't let mself become a monster, knowing I had my child to look after. So I didn't change." Louis was stopped from continuing when Elijah began to groan and kicked some pots off a nearby shelf. Louis and Hayley were quick to run inside and see what was wrong. Hayley was the one to put Elijah's head on her lap to make sure he was ok. Hayley's mind were suddenly filled with a girl picking grapes and a smile that could light up the world. "Minerva." Elijah whispered and began to rub Hayley's hands. Hayley quickly let go knowing it was Elijah's private thoughts she had been seeing. Louis frowned his eyebrows at the old name he hasn't heard in ages.

"Hayley? I'm sorry I thought you were someone else." Elijah said and let go of the werewolf. "Minerva?" Hayley asked. "Yes, sorry." Elijah stated. "Well whoever she was she was quite the looker. "How-How?" Elijah asked. "Did I let you enter my thoughts?" Elijah asks and Hayley only looked towards Louis. "I'm not well. I should go." Elijah began to get up but both Hayley and Louis set him back on the bed and prevented him from moving. "Elijah you're sick. We're taking care of you." Hayley said and looked towards Louis who was staring out the window. "We're being watched." Louis said and rushed to the window. Hayley followed and saw the girl from when Tyler brought Hayley and Athena to the bayou. "Hey!" Hayley shouted and rushed out the door, but stopping when she girl rushed away from the three.

"No." Rebekah immediately shut down the idea of having Athena on their side, as suggested my Marcel. "Why? Athena is the only one who has some control over him." Marcel stated and looked at Rebekah. "Marcel even if Athena would like to join our side, which by the way even the way it sounds is stupid, I wouldn't let her nor her father, nor Elijah, heck even Hayley, wouldn't want her to be part of this. Marcel think it through on who you want to be a part of this." Rebekah snapped and paced the room. Marcel looked off to the side a realized Rebekah had a point. Athena wouldn't leave Niklaus's side no matter how much in the wrong they think he is, but Rebekah has a point about not wanting her to join the fight. Davina was one thing but Athena could get killed in the midst and she was too pure for all of this, even if she was involved with Klaus at all.

Athena smiled at the painting she had finished and put it off to the side to let dry. The little girl was wearing a bright blue dress and smiling as if into a camera. Her bright blue eyes twinkled even if it was a painting. Athena looked around the room and saw a perfect empty spot on the wall for the painting. Looking at the little girl Athena already loved her with all her heart and then some. Looking at it now she knew she wouldn't let any harm come to her, no matter who it was from. Once the painting had dried, Athena stood on a stool to put up the painting and stepped back to admire her work. That little girl was going to grow in in a messed up family, but being messed up is what makes it perfect.

Athena suddenly felt a stabbing in her chest and she turned around with rigid breathing. She suddenly gasped for air and fell to the floor, clutching her chest. "Klaus." She let out finally realizing it wasn't coming from her. "Klaus!" She screamed and fell to floor on her back. Her fists clenched and her back arched. She let out a loud scream and something fueled on within her, gaining her strength back. She began to get up and was lowly growling at nothing. What she didn't know, was Niklaus could feel himself gaining control over all the vampires stabbing him. As he ripped the chains from around him he let out a growl knowing there was something helping him and that something, was deeply in his thoughts.

Hayley sat in the backseat while Louis was in the front and Elijah was driving, when Elijah stopped the car to a park in front of their house. "Guys who's Minerva?" Hayley finally asked, wanting to know who the girl was she almost died to in the hands of a sick Elijah. Louis and Elijah looked at each other before turning to Hayley. "I'll wait for you two inside. I got to go check on Athena." Louis stated and got out the car while Elijah turned to Hayley. "I'm sorry I tried to hurt you. I would never want that." Elijah starts and turns around to face Hayley. "Elijah can you tell me what happened to Minerva?" "That's not important." Elijah said cutting Hayley off. "It is important. 1,000 years of memories and that's what breaks through your fever brain? I wanna know. Show me." Hayley says and waits for Elijah to touch her temple.

Hayley's eyes were suddenly filled with the body of the girl who was picking grapes a while ago but this time, she was covered in blood and was pale. She could see Elijah bending down to cradle her to his chest. He wrapped his hand around a medallion on the girls neck and began to cry and kiss her head over and over again. When Elijah let go of Hayley, she had her eyebrows frowned and slowly opened her eyes to look at Elijah. Elijah was looking out the window of the car and Hayley only stared at him. "Minerva is alive and well a the moment Hayley. She lives in Rome, Italy, owning a wine company. That memory came out because it pained me to see her dead the way she was." Elijah stated and Hayley frowned her eyebrows again.

"She's a vampire?" Hayley asked. "What Niklaus didn't know when he killed Minerva was that she had my blood running through her body. I didn't know she was alive till a while back in mystic falls." Elijah answered. "She died because of Klaus?" Hayley asks. "She died cause of me. I cared too deeply for her and Niklaus was jealous. He lost his love so he thought I could loose mine." Elijah said and turned to Hayley. Hayley placed a hand on Elijah's shoulder making him feel slightly more comfortable.

"Niklaus let her go." Louis said as he walked in on Klaus holding the dagger to Rebekah's neck. Elijah walked in behind louis followed by Athena. "Or should it be one of you two?" Klaus snapped and pointed the dagger at Louis and Elijah. "Stealing my child away with every fondness you two show to Hayley." Klaus sneered and rushed to one side of the room. "This has nothing to do with Hayley." Louis states. "It has everything to do with her!" Klaus shouts. "She has adored you since she arrived. And now my child, my blood will grow up to call you father! Not the bloody uncle I wanted you to be!" Louis looks at Klaus with a deadpanned look knowing he was now talking about Marcella and the baby she has lost with herself.

"Is this what it's about? That you're worried you'll be left behind? Has history not taught you anything. We don't abandon you. You push us away, Nik." Rebekah cries and Louis hold his hand out to take hers to calm her down. "Is that so?" He asked and looked at his three siblings then to Athena. Athena held his stare and tears began to pool in her eyes knowing how Klaus was feeling. "What have I done other then cooperate?" Klaus asks and looks at the three vampires.  "I bowed down to you for daggering you," Klaus says pointing to Elijah. "You turn your head away sister and reapeat the same cycle with Marcel, as he took the empire we built," He adds pointing to Rebekah.

"I let you have your fun with my child only to fin out you'll be taking it from me because you want to be it's new daddy." Klaus finishes looking at Louis. "And for you three to stand against me, to think my intentions weren't pure with my own child." Klaus walks up to his siblings. "I have our home back now and I'm going to live there. And all of you can stay here together and rot."Klaus finishes and walks out the door stopping someway down the hallway to look at Athena. Athena began to choke on her tears, making more fall down Klaus's cheeks. He knew he was hurting her by leaving, but he also knew she felt what he did making him know he wasn't alone.

Athena looked at her family before walking out and going to her room to look out her bedroom window out the front yard. She saw Hayley look up catching Athena's eyes before being forced into the car by Niklaus and leaving without so much as a word to the family. Athena quickly turned around but was stopped at her door by her father. She looked up at him with tear streaked eyes and cheeks making Louis look down. "Do you want to leave Athena?" He asked his only child who looked at him with a feared expression. "It's alright if you do Athena. We all understand." She looked over her father's shoulders to see Elijah behind him.

"I can't leave you dad." Athena said and began to cry. Louis pulled his daughter in for a hug and laid his chin on top of her head. "Its ok. You follow your heart. And if it is with Klaus then go after him." Louis says and rubs Athena's back. "At least we know he'll have you to keep him sane." Elijah states and walks up the small family of two. "I'll go to protect Hayley and the baby." Athena says and looks down to the floor. "Why else?" Louis asked wanting to hear her say it, already knowing where it was going. "And because I love Klaus Mikealson." She whispers making Louis suck in a breath and quickly pull her in for a hug. "I know you do."

"Why are you here?" Klaus asked as he looked out the window, already knowing who had entered his room. "I'm here for Hayley and the baby. You took her." Athena says and folds her hands in front of her. "Is that all?" Klaus asks and turns around, with a scared expression on his face. "It should be all but it is not." Athena whispered and looked at him. "Why are you still with me?" Klaus whispered and walked closer to Athena, till their nose were almost touching. "You ask me that time and time again and I will always give you the same answer until you get it through you stubborn head, Niklaus Mikealson." Athena whispered and glanced down at Klaus's lips. "What will it take for you to understand?" Athena barely whispered but knew Niklaus could hear.

Klaus took in a deep breath before smashing his lips to Athena's. He wrapped his arms around her waist and she clutched onto his neck. With that one simple passionate kiss Klaus knew she meant her answer. It'll always be hard for him to leave Marcella behind even if she was a part of Athena. He knows he loves Athena just as much but doesn't want to admit it to himself. As for Athena she knew Klaus will love her even if he doesn't want to say it. And she knows why he won't. She knows about his past. She knows about him and Marcella. She knows about what happened. And she knows he's just scared of going through it,
