Chapter 10: Fire him

"Fire him"

"Sir?" Eunsuk, the manager was surprised by what Jungkook just said.

"Don't you hear me?" Jungkook glared at him.

"I-I heard you, sir, but why would I fire him? I mean, he's been working for a week now and still didn't do anything wrong to get fired." Eunsuk stated.

"Just do what I say, I don't like repeating myself." Jungkook retorted.

"But sir, he's doing a pretty good job and I can assure you that he has no criminal record." Eunsuk added, not knowing why his boss wants to fire someone who did nothing wrong so far.

"Do you want to get fired instead?" Jungkook said in an authoritative tone and glared at him.

"Like what you said, I will fire him." Eunsuk immediately replied without any hesitation.

Jungkook rolled his eyes and left the manager's office.

"What happened, Jungkook?" Soojin asked when she saw Jungkook finally come out.

Jungkook's eyes met Taehyung but the older boy looked away and act as if nothing happened.

"Nothing" Jungkook responded but his eyes followed Taehyung.

Taehyung sighed in relief when he got inside the staff room where no one can see him and slightly slap himself to stop thinking nonsense.

"Taehyung"

He heard Emma's voice, he turned around and saw her.

"Yes, what happened? Do you need something?" He asked Emma.

"Nothing happened but the manager was looking for you. He told me to call you and tell you that he wants you in his office now." Emma told him.

"Why?" Taehyung inquired confusedly.

"I don't know, he just told me that. I have no idea at all why he will call you. Maybe, did you do something wrong?" Emma stated.

"Nothing, thank you for telling me, I'll go now." Taehyung sighed and slightly smiled at her.

He left the staff area to go to the manager's office. For some unbeknownst reason, his heart was beating so fast due to nervousness. He can't help but think negatively because he heard that something was wrong if the manager called the staff in his office.

Emma told him that the manager barely cares but once he called his staff to go to his office it means they will get suspended, lectured, or worst suspended.

Taehyung fidgeted his fingers while biting his trembling lips. He was now in front of the office but he doesn't want to go inside. But he flinched when the door was opened and saw the manager.

"You're here, please get inside." Eunsuk said and move aside so Taehyung can go inside.

Taehyung gulped before he went inside the office. And Eunsuk stands in front of him.

"Good afternoon, sir, why did you call me for?" Taehyung started to ask but looked down at the ground.

"I'm going straight to the point here, I got an order to fire you." Eunsuk sadly told him.

"But why? I didn't do anything wrong, sir. Can you please tell me why you will fire me? Did I do something wrong?" Taehyung looked up at his manager with teary eyes.

"You did nothing wrong, Taehyung. But it was an order from our boss and I don't know why he told me to do that. I tried to ask him but he doesn't like it if I interfere with his decision. If I were the boss, I wouldn't fire you without proper reason." Eunsuk explained.

"Sir, please, can you please tell him to change his mind? I need money for my mother's medical expenses and my daily needs." Taehyung pleaded.

"I'm sorry, Taehyung, I can't do something about it. Don't worry, I will try to talk to him to change his mind. But I will tell you in advance, don't expect he will change his mind. He's a man of his word. I'm sorry again, Taehyung." Eunsuk apologized.

"I understand, sir." Taehyung smiled bitterly.

He wiped off his tears and walked out of the office.

"Taehyung, are you okay?" Emma asked him but he just continue to walk and leave the restaurant with tears falling from his eyes.

Jungkook was standing outside of his mansion to smoke. His mother doesn't like to smell his cigarette inside the mansion.

"Why did you do that?"

He turned his head to the left side and Taehyung was standing not so far from him. He pulled out his cigarette and threw it on the ground. He stepped into his cigarette to smash the ash.

"Did what?" He asked looking at the older boy.

"Fire me in my work without a proper reason to do it so!" Taehyung retorted glaring at him.

"I'm the boss, I can do whatever I want." Jungkook simply replied and put his hands in his pocket.

"But I didn't do anything wrong! You don't have any reason to fire me!" Taehyung shot back.

"Well, it's because I don't think you will be fit to become a waiter in my restaurant." Jungkook stated, shrugging off his shoulder.

"Then what do you want me to do, huh?! Become your maid?! Is that what you want me to do?!" Taehyung grumbled, gritting his teeth.

"No, I want you to become my boyfriend or husband. I think you will fit in that category." Jungkook snickered.

"You have a girlfriend, Jungkook! Are you hearing yourself right now?! Aren't you disgusted with your words?! Do you even understand what will be the aftermath if that happens, huh?!" Taehyung growled.

"We'll break up anyway, she's not my type either the one for me. I don't think we'll last long. Besides, if you are talking about the gap between our ages, it's just 5 years! Freaking 5 years! Other couples have 10+ gaps but why can't we?" Jungkook retorted.

"Still, that doesn't change the fact that I'm older than you!" Taehyung replied.

"Can you stop treating me as if I'm a kid? I'm mature enough to know what's wrong and right. I'm 18 years old, not 8 years old. Being me 18 years old and you 23 years old doesn't make you a pedophile!" Jungkook told him annoyingly.

"You have a girlfriend, Jungkook! You committed to someone! You can't just ruin someone's life like that. I still don't understand why you are like this."

Taehyung left Jungkook who just rolled his eyes and watched him leave.
