Chapter 14: Let out

They safely arrived at the mansion, Taehyung finally stopped crying and seemed to be fine too.

“Oh, Taehyung, dear, what happened to you? Did you cry?” Jaehyun worriedly asked when she saw the two coming inside.

“I'm fine, Ma'am.” Taehyung smiled bitterly.

“Are you sure? Wait, you're supposed to stay with your Dad. What are you doing here?” Jaehyun inquired curious.

“I can't stay with him, Ma'am, his wife won't allow me to be with them. I don't want to ruin their relationship.” Taehyung stated.

“What are you talking about? Their relationship has already been ruined since the beginning. Your Dad never loved her and she knew that. That's the reason why she hated your mother because she couldn't feel how Seok loved your mother.” Jaehyun told him.

Taehyung knew that, but he thought their relationship might have been developed because his mother left their house and even Jin wasn't staying with them.

“You should probably take a rest now, I'm pretty sure you are mentally and physically exhausted.” Jaehyun patted his head.

Taehyung nodded his head and went upstairs to where his room was.

“Don't follow him for now, Jungkook, just let him be alone. Give him space and time to recover.” Jaehyun said to Jungkook, who was about to follow Taehyung.

“I just wanted to check if he will be fine alone, Mom.” Jungkook uttered.

“Don't worry, I'm sure he will be fine. Taehyung is a strong person, just let him cry all night, it will help him lessen the pain in his heart.” Jaehyun stated.

Jungkook mumbled under his breath and sighed.

“What are you going to do now?” Jaehyun suddenly asked him.

“Huh?” That question made him taken aback.

“I'm talking about your girlfriend, Soojin. I know you seriously courted her, Jungkook.” Jaehyun clarified.

“I can fix that, Mom.” Jungkook responded.

“You must fix it, Jungkook, just because you wanted to get something, that doesn't allow you to ruin the other things. You are my son, but I won't condone that attitude of yours. I don't like how eager you are to get something you want. I don't want you to be like your dad, Jungkook.” Jaehyun told him.

“I know, Mom.” Jungkook muttered, looking down to the ground.

“Good, you should better be careful of what you were doing and reflect on your actions. You don't know what could be the consequences, in the end, you might regret it. Next time, don't force the person to feel what you felt for them. You should accept if Taehyung can't love you back. But if he feels the same way about you, make sure to treasure him and don't act immature.” Jaehyun patted his shoulder and left Jungkook.

Tears fell from Jungkook's eyes for some reason, maybe he realized what he did, but he felt a pang in his heart while listening to his mother.

Taehyung felt so weak right now, the day has passed, but he was still stuck in bed, grieving his mother's death. He felt like tears won't come out of his eyes because he already cried out last night that he couldn't even fall asleep.

“Hyung” He heard Jungkook's voice and went inside his room.

He doesn't want to face him because he doesn't have the strength to do that.

“Mom said you should eat something, it's already afternoon, and you didn't eat anything earlier.” Jungkook spoke.

Oh, it's already afternoon? He didn't even realize that. He was too lost in his thoughts that he couldn't notice his surrounding.

“I don't have an appetite, Jungkook.” Taehyung merely responded.

That's true, he doesn't feel like eating something today.

“Are you sure?” Jungkook asked.

“Yes, so please leave me alone for now, Jungkook.” Taehyung replied.

“Okay, but I will leave the food here, just eat them when you want to.” Jungkook uttered.

He heard Jungkook put down the food on the round table in his room and the closing of the door. He let out a quiet sob, feeling pain for some reason.

“Jin Hyung, what are you doing here?” Jungkook asked when Jin suddenly paid him a visit.

“I heard Taehyung is here, I just wanted to talk to him.” Jin replied.

“Okay, he's in his room right now.” Jungkook moved aside.

“Thank you” Jin went inside and walked upstairs to go to the room where Taehyung was.

There, he saw Taehyung sitting on the bed with dry tears on his cheeks, and he looked so hopeless.

“Hyung” Taehyung weakly stood up and hugged him.

Jin hugged him back, caressing his hair while softly shushing him.

“It's okay, you will learn to move on, Taehyung. It will be painful for now, but I'm sure, you can move on soon.” Jin comforted his brother.

“I missed Eomma” Taehyung cried on Jin's shoulder.

Jin pulled away from the hug and cupped Taehyung's cheeks, wiping off his tears.

“Tae, Hyung is going abroad for work, if you want, you can come with me there. I think it would help you clear your mind. I will feel relieved too if you're with me, I wanted to make sure you'll be fine. You know that you are my only family, and I don't want to lose you too. So please, come with me.” Jin stated.

Jin's relationship with his father isn't that good after his marriage to his current wife. He dislikes his stepmom, just like how much she hated him.

“Really? Can I come with you?” Taehyung looked at him with teary eyes.

”If you want to, you can come with me. I won't force you if you feel uncomfortable with that idea. I just hope you understand that I wanted the best for you.” Jin retorted.

“For how long?” Taehyung asked.

“For 3 years, It depends on you if you want to stay for longer. So, are you going to come with me?” Jin said.

Taehyung's response stabbed Jungkook in the heart while listening to them. It felt like he didn't have any chance to Taehyung.
