||CHAPTER-22||
Silence
Darkness
Deafness
The three elements engulfed the man who was tied to a metal chair with his mouth stuffed with cloth and plastered with layers of tape. He tried to jiggle his body but the tapes and ropes were too tight.
"Mhmm!" The man tried to scream but only a muffled cry escaped past his lips.
"Mh!Mmh!" The man cried but there was no response.
Creak!
The man instantly stopped struggling as he heard the unusual sound. He perked his ears to hear. It was the sound of metal dragging over a stone floor. He couldn't comprehend much but it was most possibly a metal rod.
"Stop analysing so much, Hyung~" the voice chirped in a creepily sweet voice that sent chills under the man's feet.
"Looks like you want to talk. Hmm?" The voice giggled as he pulled the plaster off the man's face.
"J..Juliet?" The tied man stuttered and leaned back with fear lacing in his veins.
"Oh, come on! You can't call me that. I am not a part of that shitty business of yours." The man replied with a demonic glint building in his orbs.
"Why are you doing this? Wasn't hurting Jungkook enough? Now you are targeting all of us?"
"I ain't targeting anyone. I am just following orders from the boss-"
"Which boss are you talking about? The one that taught you how to fight for the country? Or the one that pulled you into this shady business and converted you into a traitor?"
"Woah, chill dude. Don't work yourself up. We have a long night to go about."
"Jimin, please...stop all of this. You aren't what you claim to be. You are still the same Jimin that we trained. You are still the man that saves the country at the cost of his life-"
Jimin clicked his tongue and yanked the man close to his face, "Stop preaching about the country. I don't care about such things anymore."
"What's gotten into you, Jimin? I have tried my best to keep safe until now. I can't guarantee your safety beyond this-"
Jimin's eyebrow twitched and swung the rod against the man's chest hard. He groaned in pain and bent forwards with pain spreading under his ribs.
"How does it feel? Isn't it thrilling? To have rods being dug over your skin when you are blindfolded and watched with hungry eyes all over. Isn't it crazy to live in the dark with your whole body wrapped in tapes?" Jimin growled with his hands gripping the rod firmly and throwing another hit.
The man gasped loudly as the rod hit right under his rib. A heartwrenching pain flooded through the man's chest and it was unexplainable. He took shaky breaths as it hurt to inhale the air that pricked like needles around his trachea, "S...stop," the man mumbled.
"Why should I? Call for help! No, scream for help. Ask the country that you are preaching so much about to pull you out of this. I want to see how they save you," Jimin breathed heavily with tears filling in his orbs.
"J...Jimin, I can help you out. Please let me go. I will pretend this never happened. Okay?" The man asked softly with his lungs squeezing inside his chest with every breath that he took.
"I screamed for help! I begged to be saved! You guys heard me over the mics, saw me through the cameras and all you did was watch the show! Why?"
"Jimin, we were helpless-"
"Bullshit! You could have sent help. You could have protected me but you felt that the lives of a hundred victims were more important than a mere agent that was born to sacrifice his life for the country!" Jimin cried louder with his chest heaved up and down.
"He...raped me and you guys let him be. Because you felt it was the right thing to do. Since it was the only way to keep your country protected at the cost of...mine?" Jimin whispered unable to speak further. His lungs filled with pain as the harsh memories flooded through his head.
"I will give you the privilege to experience the exact amount of pain that I went through. I will show the wrath that has been building inside me all these years. And that's a promise Kim Seok Jin!" With that, Jimin walked away shutting the door behind him.
_________
Hoseok was this close to throwing himself off the window. The man always had cravings for crime thrillers and this suspense about Jimin's secret was killing him from inside.
It then clicked to him.
The last part of the story that Jungkook narrated.
Taehyung was a part of the story all along. And most importantly a person that Jimin knew personally.
Hoseok rushed towards Taehyung's room which was a few rooms away. The headquarters provides each of its members with premium stay rooms for the agents and other staff. It took Hoseok a few minutes to reach the man's room. He rocked back and forth over his toes biting his lips. He couldn't decide whether it was right to disturb the man at this time of an hour.
Nonetheless, the boy rang the doorbell and waited for a response.
"Who...?" A voice sprung from inside the room. And Hoseok wanted to bury himself six feet deep because,
One, the voice heard like the man was woken up from a deep sleep.
Two, the voice was eight octaves deep which grew Hoseok's knees weak.
"I am sorry to disturb you at this hour. It's nothing urgent. Please get back to your sleep"
"Hey, it's okay. Come in, I wasn't sleepy anyways," Taehyung answered politely and guided Hoseok into his room.
"What is it that you wanted to know?" Tae asked as he poured a glass of water for both of them and handed one to Hoseok.
"Could you tell me about your relationship with Jimin?" Hoseok asked shamelessly not caring about the consequences.
"What about him?"
"According to Jungkook's story he was an agent too and he kinda knew you..." Hoseok's voice trailed off as he played with the glass of water in his hand.
Taehyung blinked his eyes slowly and leaned over to Hoseok's side and placed an index finger under his chin. He directed Hoseok's face towards him with his breath fanning against his lips.
Hoseok's heart was learning to be a boxer that night. It was punching his chest so hard that he had to run his hand against his chest to calm himself.
"If you want to know about it, then you should hear it from the start," Taehyung spoke in a raspy voice with his hooded eyes staring right at Hoseok's lips and licking them subconsciously.
____
Kim Seok Jin was the founder of the Base Station who build the headquarters with his sweat and blood. He created a team of one of the finest team members working under him. It was all designed to build a stronger National Security System.
Park Jimin, was one of the finest agents that he trained with all his might with Kim Taehyung being the lead analyst that guided Jimin through all the missions. Taehyung was smart in data handling and narrowing down the threat points.
A skilled man that lacked field power and basi enses about common lifestyles. It was hard for him to study people's behaviours and attire. But the man was excellent at plotting down a criminal's next steps.
A trusted man that worked along with Jimin for three years and brought the Base Station to where it was held today. But it all went downhill when Seokjin sent him on a secret mission to capture evidence against Zhu Long Cao.
After the failure of the mission after multiple trials, Seokjin stepped down from the position and handed it over to Kim Namjoon who was the only one besides Taehyung and Seokjin that knew that Jimin was an agent.
Also, a victim of the mission he was sent on.
The biggest failure that can never be resurrected in this lifetime.
