Chapter 6: I Get my Own Room, I Mean, Cabin
I was racing towards a long corridor. Something was chasing me and I didn’t want to wait and find out. I ran trying to find an exit until I found myself in an outstretched plain with multiple volcanoes and a huge polluted river. The river held so much oil and other things it will make satyrs wish their god, Pan, was still alive. As I ran to the beach of the river I tripped and fell to the sand. It wasn’t sand, but ash. I looked more closely to the river and I saw book reports, report cards, and toys. These were broken chances, dreams this must be the River Styx. So that means I’m in the underworld.
I heard the thing chasing me come closer. So I ran to the bridge that ran across the River Styx. As I crossed the bridge I drew closer to sounds of moaning. There I saw dead people getting tortured by furies- um kindly ones. They came up with so many tortures I couldn’t bear describe. All of the kindly ones and the dead started to come to me. The thing that was chasing me was coming on the bridge. I saw the dead people in the Fields of Asphodel; they were standing their not cautious of anything around them. The dead started to grab me. I turned and saw myself, only I was dead. I had holes probably caused by swords in a battle.
My zombie self moaned saying, “You will die suffering not only yourself but from others as well.”
I screamed and woke up.
I opened my eyes face to face with some guy from the Hermes cabin. Then I did something I’m not proud of, I punched him on the shoulder.
“Ow,” he exclaimed. “Why did you do that for?”
“First of all, that was a reflex.” I said. “Second of all, you were spying on me.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” I looked at him and it was Connor Stoll.
“You were staring at me, while I was sleeping,” I said with disbelief.
“Yeah, I couldn’t help myself.” I looked around and all of the guys were surrounding me. I looked down and saw I was still in the dress from last night. I went into the restroom to change into my regular clothes.
As I left to the big house, I stopped by to the arena. When I arrived I was ambush by a dog. It slobbered all over me until I finally figured it was Cebury. Only she was twice her own size. She litteraly grew overnight. By the end of the month she wall be twice as big as Mrs. O’ Leary.
“Who’s a good boy and um- girls.”
They all barked in unison. After a few games of tug-of-war, I went to the mess hall.
When I sat down everyone stopped talking and stared at me. Great now I’m everyone sister, including Leo. I looked at Leo then turned away. Maybe the Gods were wrong, I couldn’t be related to Leo.
Chiron cleared his throat and said, “To the Gods!”
We all cheered and went up to give our offerings after the nymphs handed out plates. When it was my turn to throw and offering I paused. Who should I give it to? I stared at Mr. D and he gestured it to everyone. So I prayed it to all of the 12 Olmpians.
I then headed to the Big House. But Chiron and Mr. D were already waiting for me. As we went in I petted Seymour and sat on the couch.
I asked, “How come I’m related to the all of the gods?”
Chiron replied, “You shouldn’t be asking me.”
I faced Mr. D and asked, “Well?”
“Apollo has a prophecy that a mortal girl will be in the Great Prophecy.”
“Tell me the full prophecy,” I demanded.
“Please?”
I sighed. “Please.”
Then Mr. D retold it like this:
“A mortal girl will even out the odds,
To give peace of the children of the gods,
She wears a ring and is called her majesty,
And can withstand the Gods’ immortality,
She shall recreate the prophecy as it is woven,
For she chose her fate and accepted the token.”
I stared at my ring that holds the power of each god.
I asked Mr. D, “It doesn’t make sense, how can I be still mortal?”
“It doesn’t have to make sense.”
“Stop saying things in riddles!”
“I’m the God of madness, deal with it.”
“Just explain it to me.”
“Long ago, you parents were at the Parthenon at Athens, Greece. Apollo then gave us a prophecy that the firstborn of the two will help out in a great prophecy. So we had Aphrodite call her son, Eros, to have the two fall in love. When you were born and your brother shortly after that, we all visited your parents.”
Mr. D then tapped me on the forehead. I was suddenly in the hospital. My mom was in a hospital bed with my dad sitting by her. The room was filled presents, flowers and balloons written: CONGRATUTLATIONS, IT’S TWINS! I saw my parents, they look a whole lot younger. My mom held both Julies and I. There were 13 people who stood before my parent, but not just any people. The 12 Olympians and Hades. They were all in their human forms, but you would know which god is which.
"You're quite welcome for the lovely marriage you had, unlike a certain couple I know," Hera eyed Zeus and continued, “Congratulations on your twins, Mr. And Mrs. Olympia.”
My mom demanded, “Who are you? Why are you here?”
My dad glared at them, “You can leave out the door, before we can call security.”
"That might be a pronlem, Ares went a bit overboard," Zeus sighed while Ares grinned proudly. “We are the 12 Olympians plus my brother Hades. We are here to tell you of your firstborn’s fate.”
My mom looked at me. “What do you want with her?”
“Wait,” My dad said. “The 12 Olympians as in Greek gods?”
Athena stepped forward and explained them about western civilization. My parents then stood there, they couldn’t believe their ears.
My dad smiled. “I knew it! I knew it!”
Dionysus said dryly, “You know what?”
“I’ve been excavating a site back in Greece. I had a translator read a tablet, it said thet this sort of mist covers what really happens like monsters. And that the gods support western civilization. After that I’ve been seeing things, maidens from the trees and seas, goat men I mean saytrs!”
“That’s why you’re the chosen ones,” Apollo said. "My prophecies are always right, so you should listen to this."
He then recited:
“A mortal girl will even out the odds,
To give peace of the children of the gods,
She wears a ring and is called her majesty,
And can withstand the Gods’ immortality,
She shall recreate the prophecy as it is woven,
For she chose her fate and accepted the token.”
"She will travel, adventuring to distant lands, and states." Hermes said, “All you got to do is accept your daughter’s fate.”
My dad immedietly said, “We accept!”
My mom glared at him, “Sweetie, aren’t you thinking of only yourself?”
“But, I’m not. I want our daughter to have an adventure in life. She will have the love of Greek life.”
Ares warned, “Her life might be an adventure, but her life will be at stake. Monsters will try to kill her every second of her life. Though I don't mind myself.”
My mom asked, “Then why are you coming to us to have our daughter to have such a life.”
Artemis explained, “We need mortal heroes, no matter how proud us gods are. Your daughter will save the world from destruction, she will be a famous hero.”
“So will you accept it?” Demeter asked. "I'll throw in a year supply of cereal and whole wheat bread for the kids."
My parents looked at each other. Then at me.
They said at once, “Yes.”
“Wait, hold up,” Aphrodite said.
Hephaestus asked, “What Aphrodite? You're not going to lead this poor girl to a love doom, will you?”
“I want to give this young lady a gift,” She stated. “A sense of style and everlasting beauty, boys will go wild for her.”
She tapped my nose and I started to glow.
Hermes came forward, “Might as well. She’ll have the mind and skill of a thief, liek your's truly.”
My mom stammered, “Oh, I don’t really want a thief for a-”
But Hermes already tapped my nose. Soon the gods gave me gifts and tapped my nose. Hera gave me good judgement and the ability to win a good argument, Poseidon made me a great swimmer and be great with horses, Demeter made me have a love for plants and cereal, Dionysus gave me the ability to not get easily drunk, Athena gave me brains, Hephaestus made me a good artist, Apollo gave me a beautiful singing voice, Ares had me be a natural warrior, and Hades gave me a love for ghost stories and horror movies. Artemis tried to make me have no love for boys but my parents and Aphrodite wanted me to have a chance in love, so instead she made me a good archer.
Zeus muttered, “This is like Pandora all over again.”
Hera smiled sweetly, “Honey, won’t you give a gift to the girl while she can still enjoy it?”
Zeus sighed, “Yes, sweetie.”
He looked at me in my mother’s arms. He then scratched his beard. He then snapped his fingers like he had a great idea.
“Pegasus fathered the strong foal, Pheonix. Phoenix will have a different forms of the gods. She may have her once she gets to the camp.”
My dad accepted the gift for me.
Poseidon frowned to himself, "Some no good teenagers are littering in the Pacific ocean. I'll take care of that later. Let’s give it to her.”
My mom asked, “Give what to her?”
Hades had an injection materialize in his hand.
He said, “I have the honor to inject the poor girl. Don’t worry, this is ichor, the blood of the gods.”
My dad asked nervously, “You know what you’re doing, right?”
Hades laughed, “Don’t worry, if she dies I’ll let you guys visit her.”
Everyone stood there, dead silent.
Hades mumbled, “Joke, it was only a joke.”
He then looked at me and sighed. “No hard feelings, ok?”
As he put the needle onto my shoulder, I cried my eyes out. Julies started to cry too, he must have felt my pain. I glowed a bright yellow, as it faded away, I started to calm down. I giggled at the sight of the Lord of the Dead who was looking down on me. He smiled and summoned another needle to his hand.
“What is that?” My dad asked.
Hades explained, “We gods have a Roman version of ourselves. This is our Roman blood, we will also inject it to the girl.”
My mom asked, “Will that be safe? She might not withstand that much power.”
Apollo piped up, “99.9% safe, from a god of medicine’s word.”
When Hades was about to give me a second shot, I looked at it and gave out a scream. It startled Hades, the injenction flew out of his hand. Time started to slow as it hit the table next to Julies. The vial burst open, leaving a mess of godly blood on the floor. But a drop of the blood landed into Julies tongue, then Julies swallowed. My mom looked at Hades then at Julies.
My father demanded, “What’s going to happen to him, he drank blood!”
The gods looked nevously at each other.
Apollo said, “It’ll be fine, he won’t be in any danger. He will only be influenced by Roman mythlogy and can see through the mist.”
My parents sighed with relief.
Poseidon then told my parents, “Maybe she isn’t ready for the second blood. When she is older, she will have the injenction.”
My mom asked, “With this mist, what will the doctors see when they see my daughter’s blood.”
Zeus said, “They won’t see the true form of it, pure golden blood. You happen to know blue- bloods from royal families. It’s really the mist that covers the true form of the blood.”
“In the prophecy, there is something about a ring,” my dad asked.
Hephaestus said, “We’ll be giving her a ring filled with many things to help her in the prophecy. Once we give it to her, you need to immedietly send her to Camp Half Blood.”
“Camp Half Blood?”
Dionysus impatiently explained, “Camp Half Blood is a place for brat demigods to live, train ect. She will need to stay there from then on, be a year rounder.”
Hera said, “Now if you two don’t mind, I will be naming these children.”
My dad looked stern. “Who gives you a right to name our children?
Hermes coughed. “Sorry, we always do this, it’s like a blessing to be named by a god.”
Hera got me from my mother’s arms. She cradled me and started to think. She then touched my forehead.
“Your name shall be Kassandra.” She looked at my parents. “That could be the namesake, the modern version of this name is Alexandria.”
She gave me back to my mom. Then she got Julies and held him.
She smirked, “What a fate. You gave birth to feternal twins with different genders. He will be the exact opposite of Kassandra, just like Artemis and Apollo”- Artemis and Apollo looked at each other then looked the other way- “only he will have the love of Romans, thanks to a certain Lord of the Dead.”
Hades held up his hands. “It was accident, you guys make the Lord of the Dead inject a baby with immortal blood.”
”Julies will be his name.”
She then handed Julies back to my mom. My mom smiled upon us.
“Alexandria and Julies, huh?”
My dad said, “Those are beautiful nanes.”
Hera grinned at the other gods. “I have my moments.
“We wish you well, and may the gods be with you,” Zeus said.
With that, they vanished in a poof of smoke. My mom looked at me, she then started to cry. Tears poured out of her eyes, when I saw my mom crying. I started to cry, too.
"I'm sorry, it's just," My mom cried, “it’s like selling her soul to the devil!”
My dad tried to comfort her. “It’ll be okay, Madelyn. This is the for her, she’ll have a great life. I just know it.”
My mom sniffled, “I know, but really. A thief for a daughter?”
The room started to shift and dissapear. Then I was back to the big house. I looked at the clock and the minute hand click to 9. Time must have stopped when I saw that, that desicion that changed my life, forever. Chiron and Mr. D waited for me for a response. I rubbed my nose, all the gods gave me gifts.
I muttered, “A thief for a daughter.”
Mr. D explained, “You’re not related to any of the gods. We just gave you a small portion of our blood so you can withstand our powers we gave you.
I stood up from my seat, “But this is unfair, my parents chose this life for me. I should’ve been the one to choose, not them.”
“Actually, it is the parents’ choice,” Chiron said. “They could’ve chosen you not to have this life, but you may have been led to a boring life.”
“Boring or not, I can die!”
Chiron told me,“Child, you need to accept that you are the one in the prophecy.”
I looked away and stared at the window. Then I heard a creak of the floorboard from outside, then notice someone by the porch. Mr. D also noticed, he then glared at the window.
“I think we have some intruders,” He muttered angrily.
He snapped his fingers, but the intruders tried to run away. But these huge vines grabbed their feet and dragged them into the big house. The vines had the intruders hang upside down before us.
Mr. D crossed my arms. “Why if it isn't the Stoll brothers.”
Connor stammered, “H-hey Mr. D. What’s the weather down there?”
Travis elbowed Connor, or at least tried to.
Chiron demanded, “How much do you know?”
“Enough to know Cash will be in the great prophecy,” Travis answered.
Chiron asked, “Cash?”
I muttered to him, “My nickname, you know. The blood thing.”
Connor grinned, “And that she’s not related to anyone in this whole camp.”
Mr D sighed, “I told Aphrodite that everlasting beauty might be too much for one girl.”
He then eyed the twins. "Here’s your punishment, you two will serve this young lady’s every bidding.”
The twins looked at each other and then at me. As soon as they agreed, Mr. D let the vined drop them head first. I went over to them and grabbed them by the ears.
I smirked, “This will be fun.”
Chiron sighed then said, “Lord Poisedon told me he will send some cyclops to build you new cabin.”
“Um, a new cabin?”
“Yes, You can’t live in Hermes cabin forever, You shall create a cabin to honor all the of the Olmpians and Hades.” We then heard a crash outside the Big House.
“I guess they arrived,” muttered Mr. D.
When we went outside, Apollo kids were already aiming their arrows at the cyclops. The cyclops were running around panic. Each are at least 10 foot tall. They had a single, bloodshot eyes the sixe of an apple. They were all muscular people, big and buff. None of them were trying to fight back, so I knew they must have been good. I don’t blame them, they come in peace but they get an ambush instead. Chiron had to yell at the campers to stop, until they all paused and retreat. Cyclops were the kids of Poseidon and usually a nymph. It was pretty scary and amazing that those monsters were born from him. I went up to the biggest cyclops that were probably their leader.
“So, will you be helping me to build my cabin?”
The cyclops gave me a toothy grin and said, “Yes, we will help you build. Show us the plans.”
The Stoll brothers eagerly wanted to help, but I knew that they might find something to steal. So I made them go to Clarisse and do her bidding until I’m done.
“Are you sure?” Travis asked.
Connor offered, “We could help make secret compartment for your special belongings.”
Travis agreed, “And we won’t tell anyone about them.”
“And you can invite us as friends.” Connor said.
Travis nodded, “I would love to see the workings of your cabin.”
But I din’t believe a single word they say. I noticed they were crossing their fingers behind my back.
“Don’t you remember?” I asked. “Mr. D says you do my every bidding as punishment.”
“But-”
I continued, “And I think Clarisse probably needs to work some more on her swordsmanship.”
“But you cant-”
I pointed to the direction of the arena.
“Either that, or Cebury needs a bath.”
But they were already off to find Clarisse.
I headed towards the cabins where Chiron told us we can work. I chose by the beach, since I always wanted a house beside the sea or lake. Then we got to work. Even though I just started in the blueprint the cyclops were very helpful.
They gave me a lot of ideas like a dog house for Cebury and an alarm system in case anyone will try to get in. After I told them that the Hephaestus and Hermes cabin might have some plans. There will be an underground system with 13 levels for each god including Hades. In my cabin, I can change the style to each godly power. It will look kind of like the insides of the cabins of each god. And their might be a brazier to sacrafice for the gods, evrytime I use it. The house may look small but I can make it four times the actual size. Like if their was a suprise attack, I can expand it into a armory filled with nasty weapons if we ever ran out. It also can expand into a hospital, in case the other infirmarary is full and the wounded have no where alse to go. The cyclops got their supplies from bottomless pit bags. So I wasn’t worried if they wanted to chop off trees from the forest. Even if I wanted to get back on those dryads who pulled that prank on me.
It only took them 5 hours for them to finish, which was pretty impressive. There was also a greenhouse for a garden. Had a chimney and a spin wheel with each image representing a god to show what mode is in their. The door wasn’t like any door, it had a system so complicated Hermes and Hephaestus themselves can’t figure it out if they work together.
Inside was more beautiful. The place reminded me of home, my old bed and study desk. There was a little thing for each god. Like a lamp or a blanket with the patterns of grapes or lightning. I pressed a button and a hidden elevator popped open. When I went inside I had a view of each level. One of them was for Aphrodite. It was a huge closet filled with clothes and shoes it was practically a mall. Another was Apollo that looked like a hospital. But in some places were music studios and archery ranges. When I went up, I thanked the cyclops and gave them peanut butter sandwitches. They thanked me and headed to the ocean.
News seems to travel fast in camp. The Stoll brothers must have told that I wasn’t related to anyone in camp. When I was doing my archery, one of the Apollo guys offered to help me out. In the forges, lots of the Hephaestus kids wanted to build my weapons for me. Even the Aphrodite boys offered me samples of chocolate. And believe me, they really know how to make chocolates. To me a lot of the campers only see me as the girl who has the gift of 13 Gods. Since I’m going to “guide” 7 demigods in the prophecy, I’m going to have to work on the gifts the Gods gave to me. I also have to give, peace to the children of the gods. One things for sure, I’m going to have to read about Ghandi and support on the peacekeepers.
I then remembered my horse was running around freely in the woods. So I took off planning to catch it. I didn’t really have a plan, maybe I could coax it with an apple or some sugar cubes. But I didn’t need to do that. I found the horse near a blueberry bush, that I hoped it wasn’t a dryad. The horse was stunning and majestic. It was white all over, bit had a long black mane and tail. The wings were originally white, but black clumps of feathers were with it. As soon as my horse saw me it came and started to nuzzle me. I then realize this must be the gift Zeus gave me. She was obviously a girl and a mustang.
“Hello, Phoenix.”
“Hello my lady. I’ve finally get to meet you.”
“Thanks.”
When I led Phoenix into the stables I heard oneof the horses saying, “Man, that’s one fine horse.”
I turned and saw Blackjack said that. I found out that the horse I talked to was Blackjack. He was the horse of Percy. To me Percy’s name is all over the camp.
“Idiot,” Phoenix grumbled.
Another voice said, “You should have more respect, Blackjack.”
I looked and saw it was another pegasi.
Blackjack whinnied, “Please. Porkpie, you don’t know repect if it’s branded on yourself.”
“Hey,” Another pegasi yelled. “You don’t talk like that to my friend!”
Porkpie rooted out, “Yeah you go Guido. Show him what you’re made of.”
Blackjack whinnied, “Come on man, it was only a joke.”
“Yeah, sure,” Guido muttered. “Can I have some of your sugar cubes?”
Blackjack neighed, “Fine, truce?”
“Truce.”
I couldn’t help myself but smile. Sadly they ran out of stables for Phoenix, so Blackjack will be Phoenix’s new roommate.
“No, my lady! Who knows what diseases it carries,” Phoenix pleaded.
“Don’t worry, I’m clean,” Blackjack said.
The other pegasi snickered.
Guido called out, “Yeah right.”
Blackjack perked his head, “And you say otherwise?”
Porkpie asked, “When’s the last time you showered?”
Blackjack paused, “No comment.”
I opened the gate and put Phoenix in. Blackjack cornered Phoenix.
“Nice to meet you.”
Phoenix tried to trample Blackjack, “Leave me alone, I’m not interested.”
“That’s what they always say.” Blackjack sang.
I laughed leaving the two love birds in peace.
It was getting late and was almost time for dinner. When I reached the dining pavilion, I didn’t know where to sit. I can sit practically anywhere, since I could. But Chiron coaxed me to the twelfth table, with Mr. D, Fern, and Pollux. I sat next to Fern who was munching on tin cans and apples.
“Hey.”
“Hay, I’m hungry for hay.” He said back.
“Wow,” I said. “How nice of you to greet me.”
“Sorry,” he said glumly. “I’m just depressed.”
“You? Depressed?”
“Yeah, my horns still haven’t grown.”
“And it''s a problem because...?”
He moaned, “That means I’m a late bloomer. It’s a depressing time for a satyr.”
I patted him on his back. “Your horns will grow, I’m sure of it.”
“Yeah, sure.”
I gasped, “You don’t trust my judgment”.
“No,” he said. “I’m still depressed.”
Chiron has eavesdropped on the conversation. “Don’t worry my young satyr, you must be patient.”
Fern sighed, “Sure, be patient. That’s what they all tell me.”
After dinner, everyone went back to our cabins. A couple of kids followed me to see my cabin.
I looked at them and said, “You can go back now! Stop stalking me!”
They reluctanly went back to their cabins. I went inside and plopped into my bed.

How do you like this chapter? Pretty cool having an amazing cabin as this. Don't be surprise if it grows mechanical legs and walfs away. Maybe it should.... Anyway, leave comments and stuff. THX
