Chapter 1: I'll Prove You Wrong

Inspired by KirstyKreme's story: "Shh...it's a Secret", A.K.A the best Naruto high school story I have ever read in my entire existence. (Highly recommend you guys check it out) Unfortunately she hasn't updated it for the past year. (T-T) So I'm writing this to get past my current obsession, enjoy now because I usually end up deleting my Naruto Fanfics.

Chapter 1: I'll Prove You Wrong

"Get out....now" The old man ordered in a hoarse growl. His words seemed to drip with poison as he glared with bloodshot eyes at the dark haired teenager standing firmly in front of him.

The young teen let out a frustrated sigh in response. His lips pressed down in a firm line and his right hand, which hung loosely by his side, clenched into a tight fist.

After a long pause the boy finally spoke."Grandfather...please." He begged, his voice strained as he barely held himself back from attacking the old man right then and there.

Suddenly the old man jolted up from his leather chair. "Don't call me that you ungrateful little brat!" the man violently spat out as he raised his metal cane to teach the kid a lesson.

The teenager remained completely still, his dark eyes glued to his grandfather, not even paying attention to the metallic cane which could descend on him at any moment. Even under his grandfather's intense glare he didn't flinch.

The seconds ticked away as the two continued to stare at one another.

Finally the grandfather let out a tired sigh. His pale hand loosened its grip around the cane as he whispered his next few words, "Rin." he spoke, lowering the cane as he did "You may be the first born of the Sasaki family...But I can never accept yo-"

"Why not ?!" The raven haired teen defiantly interrupted, unable to contain himself any longer. "I train harder than anyone." The kid continued. "I've beaten every test you've given me and completed every mission you assigned!" he added in frustration as he slammed his hand down on the desk. "So why can't you accept me as the next hei-"

[BAM]

As fast as lightning, the cold metal cane slammed straight into Rin's cheekbone, silencing his complaint and sending him sprawling backwards onto the concrete floor. The room seemed to spin as Rin grabbed his face in pain. He felt a familiar red liquid pool from one of his nostrils and drip down his chin.

In the background the sound of heavy footsteps grew louder. A hand grabbed his collar as he was forcefully yanked upward, coming face to face with his grandfather's creased face. "You know exactly why I can't accept you." The old man whispered through clenched teeth.

Rin let out a low growl, already feeling the pain from the attack subside. He quickly squirmed out of his grandfather's grasp, jumping back a few steps and brushing himself up.

"Konaha Elite." the kid suddenly coughed out as he tried to wipe away any remaining blood from his face. He watched as his grandfather paused at the mention of that infamous name.

"I'll go," Rin quickly continued before the old man could say anymore. "A-And If I graduate from there, you have to accept me...Okay?!" he declared loudly.

A silence fell over the room at the sudden proposition.

Then the old man burst out in a dark laughter. "Haha...that hell hole?" he chuckled, the amusement clear in his voice. His laughter promptly cut off as quickly as it has appeared as his tone shifted to a more deadly one, "Fine, I don't mind." He replied, "But just remember, when someone comes to kill you... I won't help you" His eyes stared straight at Rin as he murmured the last few words.

Rin gave a large scowl, refusing to show any hint of fear. "Like I need your help!" the teen retorted, "And when I do succeed, you better accept me!" he rudely added. Then without another moment to lose, the teen whipped around and stormed out of the room, slamming the heavy wooden door behind him.

The grandfather remained still as he waited for Rin's footsteps recede down the hallway. Once he could no longer hear them, his icy expression melted away from his face, immediately replaced with one of exhaustion. The old man slowly lowered himself back into the leather chair as the recent scene replayed in his mind. A dry chuckle escaped from his lips.

"That idiot." He whispered to himself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rin stomped out of the circular office and quickly made his way down the empty hallway. I really want to punch something. The teen angrily thought as he passed by an ornamental suit of armor.
At that moment, as if someone had listened to his wish, a slight movement in the reflection of the armor caught Rin's attention- two burly guards, clad in dark suits, watching him from a distance. Rin couldn't help but give a crooked smile as he noticed the slight bump in the upper pocket of their coats. Guns. The teen slowly cracked his fingers in anticipation, his back still towards the guards.
Unfortunately a muffled sound caused him to stop before he could charge. The black haired teen's eyes narrowed as he scanned the hallway closely. He immediately counted 20 high resolution security cameras scattered along the wall and all focused on him. Damn...grandfather's getting even more paranoid with each passing day.
Rin sighed to himself, a bit disappointed that he wouldn't be able to go beat up the guards behind him without getting caught. He really did want to let some of his anger out. As the teen made his way to the end of the hallway, he violently kicked the front door open, leaving a satisfying dent in the wood, before walking out of the suffocating house.
The morning breeze hit Rin's face like a cold bucket of water, immediately washing away the turmoil in his head.
Now only one goal remained in his mind: Konaha Elite, an all-boys boarding school specifically created to train future yakuza heads, gang leaders, hit men, and assassins. The supposed "graduation" rate for the school was 7%, with a reported death every other day. The Japanese government had been paid off to turn a blind eye to the deaths so getting help from the police was out of the question. And anyone who voluntarily went to that hell was either a bloodthirsty psychopath or completely insane.
Guess I must be insane then Rin thought with a dry laugh as he stared out at the busy street.
Rin wasn't fazed one bit at having to attend such a deadly school. Because despite his smallish figure, and weak looking appearance, Rin Sasaki was the first born child of the Sasaki Family, one of the top three Yakuza Organizations in Tokyo. Graduating from Konaha Elite was a nuisance but it would be the only way for his Grandfather, the current head, to acknowledge him as the Heir.
There were only three things that Rin was actually worried about with attending this school:
First of all, he had never been to an all boys school before... or any school for that matter. The teen had actually never stepped foot off the grounds of the Sasaki estate since there were always so many assassination attempts from enemies of his family. And now he had basically exiled himself for the entire year.
Second, Rin may have been an expert at fighting and killing, but his academic skills were...how to say...below average. To put things in simple terms, Rin Sasaki was an idiot, and he didn't give a fuck about learning. Unfortunately, Konaha elite can and will expel any student who does not meet the academic criteria each semester.
And Third, and most important, to be completely truthful, Rin...
wasn't a guy. Actually Rin was 99% sure that she was female if you looked past the unruly short hair and small chest, currently bound tightly with a chest binder. Unfortunately, grandfather refused to acknowledge that fact that a girl was capable of becoming the next Yakuza Boss.
Damn gender, Rin grumbled as Rin walked down the steps of the Sasaki mansion, you're the reason I'm in this mess in the first place. The morning sunlight hit her face causing her to squint her eyes to adjust to the sudden change. In the distance, she saw the towering iron gates which bordered the Sasaki estate. They were open wide for a change. An unsettling feeling boiled in her stomach as she made her way to the entrance.
Pretending to be a guy for a whole year?
The task seemed impossible.
Her grandfather saw it as a failure from the start.
A girl is too weak to survive Konaha Elite.
A girl is too weak to be the next heir.
A girl is too weak to be worth anything at all.
But Rin saw it as an opportunity. To finally prove that old bastard wrong!
However, even though she would never admit it, Rin got into the armored car feeling a bit fearful about attending a real school. She couldn't stop her palms from turning sticky with sweat as she kept them clenched tight on her lap.
In an attempt to distract herself, the black haired teen focused her curious eyes on the new world outside the window. She watched other people as they sat in their cars, walked down the street, lived their own lives. Some of them wore smile, some of them wore frowns, but all of them seemed content with where they were.
She could run. The thought randomly popped up in her mind. She could knock out the driver, hijack the car, and just drive away. Tokyo was a pretty big city....
But then Grandfather would win.
Before Rin could think further on the issue, the car came to a sudden halt at the front gate of the "prestigious" school. Rin stared out the tinted window, watching hundreds of boys as they trudged from the several dormitories to the massive school building located at the center of the campus.
Looks like it's out of one prison and into another the teen commented to herself as she slowly got out of the car. Her hand clenched into a tight fist, her eyes burning with determination. Let's do this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sasori lazily opened an eye as the new teacher stumbled into the room, bald head already glistening with nervous beads of sweat.

"I bet forty minutes before he runs." The red head mumbled to Itachi, who sat by him.

"Twenty minutes." Itachi replied back without a second glance.

The new teacher darted his eyes around the room full of teenagers, trying his best not to tremble. He had heard rumors that the previous teacher was accidentally sacrificed by one of these deranged freaks.

After thoroughly scanning the students, the teacher gave a quiet gulp, propped up his glasses and turned towards the board. His fingers trembled as he slowly wrote name, the chalk squeaked with each character he wrote.

[BAM]

A sharp scythe flew out of the air and embedded itself in the wall, mere inches from the teacher's face. The poor man almost fainted right there on the spot.

"FUCK! I missed," complained a silver haired teen sitting near the back.

" Nice going Hidan,-un." snorted another voice from the other side of the room. "How about I just blow him up instead?" suggested a blond haired guy as he playfully held up a clay object that resembled a miniature bomb.

The teacher didn't dare to turn around. His legs were shaking uncontrollably as he heard the suggestion. These kids are insane! I'm actually going to die.

[BANG]

Suddenly, the door slammed open as a short, black haired boy rushed into the room.

"Sorry I'm late!" he apologized loudly, his head pointed down in a low bow.

The class froze in surprise at the appearance of the new kid. Transfer kids were a rare site at this school. The teacher, however, sprung into action, gripping the small boy like he was his last lifeline.

"Ahh...yes, Y-you must be uh....Rin, "he stammered quickly, remembering the mention of a new student on his roster. "P-please introduce y-yourself." The teacher added as he strategically placed the short boy in front of him as a shield.

Rin didn't realize how terrified the teacher was. She just gave a small nod, and tried to smile as naturally as she could to the now silent class. First impressions were important...or so she had read online one time.

"My name is Rin Sasaki." she said in a quiet voice, to conceal the fact that her voice sounded girly. "I hope we can all get along with each other." She added, bowing again.

Sasori gazed at the strangely feminine looking boy, sizing him up. The fact that he had large midnight eyes and his black hair was a bit too long didn't help with his impression. The boy practically reeked of weakness.

"Five minutes." he mumbled to Itachi as he pulled out twenty dollars.

Itachi gave a small smirk. "Hmm...three" he replied back, pulling out cash as well.

Suddenly a loud laughter broke out, breaking the silence. "HAHA! Look Deidara!" Hidan howled. "You got another transvestite friend now!"

Deidara eyes immediately darkened with annoyance at the comment, his hands clenching around his clay, as he mulled over whether to blow up the stupid jashinist right then and there.

Sasori quickly turned his attention back to the shortie to see how the kid would react. To his surprise, the kid just continued to give an idiotic smile, completely ignoring Hidan. Then he turned his back and faced the frightened teacher as if Hidan had never said anything.

"Uh...Where do I sit Sir?" Sasori heard the kid ask in his quiet voice.

The grin fell off Hidan's face at the boy's lack of emotion. The jashinist abruptly stood up from his seat.

"Oi!" he barked loudly as he pulled out a sharp kitchen knife from his backpack. "FUCKING LISTEN WHEN PEOPLE INSULT YOU!" He screamed. And with that, Hidan threw the knife straight at the back of shortie's head.

Sasori frowned..... Man there goes twenty bucks.

Rin heard the blade as it sliced through the air. She could feel a twitch on her skin warning her of its approach; She could picture the entire scene in her mind.

Just as the blade was about to hit her, the teen twisted her head to the left. The metallic blade whizzed past her and landed with a heavy thump in the wall. A few strands of Rin's black hair fell down, cut, to the ground.

For a split second, the teen's smile turned to a disappointed frown, either this guy was pretty talented or she was getting rusty. But she quickly covered up her frown and turned back to the shocked teacher whose eyes were now glued to the knife in the wall. Rin waited a bit for the teacher to reply but he remained motionless, still staring at the knife.

Rin raised an uncertain eyebrow, uncomfortable with his lack of response. Did teachers usually act this way? "Okay...I'll just sit wherever then, Sensei." The black haired teen finally said giving another quick bow.

As the black haired teen turned back around, she saw that the entire class was now staring straight at her. A few had their mouths wide open, completely speechless. Others stared at her with utter hatred. She also noticed a raven haired guy grudgingly handing a twenty dollar bill over to a red haired teen.

Then Rin snapped her head towards the loudmouth, who had thrown the blade at her. He was also standing there, shocked, looking like a complete idiot. She tried to give a small smile, hoping there were no hard feelings and then quickly moved to the empty seat in front of the blond haired transvestite.

Deidara couldn't help but smirk at the short kid's actions. That kid may have just made the worst decision of his life but he has guts. He admitted to himself.

For the rest of class, everyone was silent. And Rin sensed more than one glance directed towards her. Feeling uncomfortable, the black haired teen put her head on the desk, letting out a small sigh as she did.

Great way to start a first day. She thought sarcastically to herself.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gaara sat silently in the courtyard, his back against an old oak tree. He munched quietly on a rice ball, eating by himself. Just like every other day. Suddenly a boy wearing a black, cat-earred cap plopped down beside him.
"Yo little Bro." said the guy as he snatched a rice ball from Gaara's lunch.
Gaara glared at the guy with darkened eyes, "Leave...before I kill you, Kankuro." He replied in a menacing voice
Kankuro unconsciously backed away at the threat, "What? I can't just say hi to my little brother?" He asked in a joking manner, but his voice came out nervously.
Gaara didn't speak.
Kankuro let out a small sigh. You really need to get a friend he thought, but he didn't dare tell Gaara out loud. " Just thought you should know, a new kid joined our class today." Kankuro said casually.
"Why should I care?"Gaara tersely asked back.
Kankuro shook his head, "You should." he said in a loud whisper, "That guy managed to piss of Hidan" He added as he leaned in closer, " .-- and survive."
Gaara stopped chewing when he heard this, but his face remained emotionless.
"His name was Rin...something." Kankuro continued to ramble, "I couldn't hear his last name cuz' the guy talked so quietly, but man...you should have been there!" the cat-earred teen continued as he made various hand motions, " The guy looks like a weak girl but when Hidan threw a knife at him, he dodged it like it was nothing-"
[Ring]
At that moment the bell rang, interrupting Kankuro. The teen frowned as he realized lunch was over, "I'll tell you later, Bro, but you really should come to class and see for yourself." he said quickly as he got up to leave.
What Kankuro didn't realize was just how loud he had been. A couple of people who had also been sitting in the courtyard were already whispering about what they had just heard. Among them, Naruto the class clown, and Sasuke the class president were both interested.
I want to fight this kid. They thought at the same time, as they returned to class.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"I FUCKING HATE THAT LITTLE SHORTIE!" screamed Hidan as he barged into the main lounge located in the boy's dormitory.

Pein, a third year student, and the main leader of the Akatsuki, silently watched from the couch. He raised an eyebrow as Hidan stormed down the hallway with a scowl on his face.

"What happened this time?" Pein asked Deidara and Sasori as they entered behind Hidan.

"New kid, -un" Deidara replied casually as he sat on the opposite couch.

Sasori plopped down next to him, "It's actually nothing." The red head commented as he propped his feet up on the coffee table. "Hidan just got his manly pride hurt." he added with a smirk.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP, SASORI!" Hidan's voice boomed from down the hallway, as a door slammed shut. Then the sound of sharpening knives filled the air.

"Man ....that poor kid." Deidara sweatdropped, feeling a bit sorry as he imagined what Hidan was going to do tomorrow.

At that moment, Itachi walked in, pausing when he heard the sound of slicing metal, and Hidan's faint cursing. A devious smirk came on raven haired teen's face as a plan formulated in his mind. "Oi Sasori, how about another friendly wager." He asked the red head.

Sasori raised an eyebrow, clearly interested, "Oh? What exactly do you propose."

Itachi immediately threw down a one hundred dollar bill, "A hundred says the newbie won't last the week." He said as he watched Sasori sit up straighter at the sight of the bill.

The red head mulled over the idea, considering the risks of such a deal.

"You're afraid challenging me." Itachi taunted, sensing that Sasori was hesitant.

Sasori immediately hardened his expression at Itachi's comment. "Tch," he scowled before also reaching into his pocket. "Two hundred says he does." he quickly countered, glaring at the raven haired teen, as the money hit the table.

Itachi just smiled, satisfied with the result, "Deal."

As Sasori relaxed back in the seat, he thought about the strange new kid. Better not die too soon, shortie, He grumbled silently to himself. I don't have two hundred dollars to spare.

Rin collapsed on the musty mattress in the empty dormitory. Her first day of school had been utterly exhausting. Luckily whoever was supposed to be her roommate wasn't there. He probably got killed or something. She thought to herself.

Suddenly the shortie felt a shiver slide down her spine as if someone had just been talking about her. The girl immediately froze. Her six sense had never been wrong before, and right now it was telling her that her life had just gotten a whole lot more complicated.

Rin let out a groan as she buried her face in her pillow. "I hate high school" she mumbled to herself.
