25- EPILOGUE

Nearly twenty years passed...

Corona viruses happened, then the dictatorship of the corrupted politicians and several student protests created new freedom. Now, in the Post-virus Era and protest Era, stock economy had been fluctuated, people fully emerged into technology, and worst of all, most of the earthly wonders turned artificial but some remained fresh whenever anyone was tired of the their busy lives.

However, Shehzad just got in his twenties had returned to the country. When he just got home, he saw everything was empty. Delwar died before the virus happened- it was a natural death and Khadijah passed away due to the virus. A lot of the last generation of the 'Altab Nagari' were gone. The only remaining was the shop with the closed shutter, as some people like Aziz kept the area as a heritage.

Looking at his home, he was reminiscing the memories with his dad about the shop, fishing and so on. His dad's portrait with the shop in the background, made him burst into tears with the mix of sadness and happiness. Later on, he seek prayers at midnight. He had no one to look after. No one to understand him. Also that, the gang just had their own family. After cleaning up the house, he realized that, if he starts to tidy up the bed and clean the house or even his/her own room, there would be a success coming on its way.

In Saudi Arabia, he was one of the head chefs in the restaurant named 'Kabob-E-Masala'. Back there, he had a really great career but he needed a break from the traditional recipes that he was taught for. He wanted to bring justice to his dad's recipe, despite so many competition regarding the more street foods and tea stalls they had. Maybe, his innovation may've bring the new 'Altab's Tea Stall'. Let's see.

After cleaning the room, he kept the table on the safe side of the shop. The first client was a young man on his 30s, who barely recognized Shehzad but took some kebabs. As everyone asked 'how was the food?'

The man had been eating and sharing the kebabs. Everyone got nostalgic of how Altab and Sajed made food but Shehzad-the street food vendor was innovative with taste. Some people were not supporting his work. Until, a thin, tall and handsome man who walked past by and Shehzad's eyes felt familiar.

"Oyee!!" cried the handsome young man.

Shehzad accidentally spilled the water from the bottle, while drinking. His sweet, cat-like expression impressed the man. For the first time, after a long time, such friendly manner was expressed by the man in his late 30s. Sooner after that, the man said "Aren't you Shehzad?"

"Yes, I am sir" said Shehzad.

"Sir is too decent, call me bro" said the man.

"That film-ish dialogues is recited by someone, I know" said Shehzad doubting at someone familiar.

The man realized that Shehzad had a sharp memory.

"Go on" he said.

"Aren't you Ikkhon dada?" asked Shehzad.

It was Ikkhon who was surprised to know about Shehzad's sharp memory. It was so great to see old folks coming out of nowhere. Then Ikkhon tasted the food and realized how much he missed the unique taste made by Shehzad's father.

"Umm...it's so good! I haven't eaten the food like this for a long time! It was organic and had so much flavor within its simplicity! I wish Hablu would have seen that" said Ikkhon.

"What happened to Hablu Bhaiya and others?" asked Shehzad.

"Ehsaan is now has the best business empire now married to Ara who owns an NGO, George used to work under the government as an intelligence officer but due to their corrupted ethics-he's a private detective and he's somewhere in Europe, Arhaan's one of the biggest freelancing journalist, blogger and photographer married to one of the twins- Sifa who's the Dean of Social Science in Independent University, and Hablu...we don't know...After your father's death, he left the area with Mayesha" revealed Ikkhon.

"So what are you doing, now?" asked Shehzad.

"I'm an actor in a theater. If I get a chance in movies, perhaps, you'll know my craft better" said Ikkhon.

"Well, it's great to see you there" said Shehzad happily.

They hugged each other like lost brothers. Suddenly, they heard the sound of an electric guitar thumping so much that Ikkhon put an earwax and Shehzad covered his ears. He just ran into Shehzad and the rock-star said "Heeeey, Shehzad!"

The singer wore some sunglasses, a sleeveless black t-shirt with the iconic Beatles picture in the center. He wore a metallic shoe written 'LRB' on it. For the international citizens, those who do not know, LRB was one of the first bands in Bangladesh put a landmark on to its music and also the lead singer, Ayub Bachchu has changed the game ever since. Unfortunately at the age of 56, he passed away due to a massive heart attack-similar to Shehzad's father. Anyway, the joy was for immediately being familiar with Shehzad.

Shehzad immediately recognized the singer and said "Yo Jamshed! Look at you! From a classical musician to the rock-star. Can I have a selfie with you?"

"Hey mate! I maybe a singer for my fans but for you, I'm the same old Jamshed" said Jamshed, the rock singer.

They took a selfie with Ikkhon. Then, the other 'Little Rascals' now known as 'Rascalas', such as Rishad who was a journalist in one of the famous newspapers, 'The Daily Star' working under Arhaan's team along with Saad, whilst Bernard is one of the co-owners of Anthony's hotel and Jamshed might be a singer but also one of the co-lawyers in Fazarul's Tax Law Firm arrived at the scene and captured pictures.

At night, Ikkhon was switching on his mobile phone and all of a sudden, Ehsaan, George and Arhaan popped up in the video-call online. Everyone shared their occupation, but Ehsaan revealed some aspects about his married life.

"Despite being a businessman, I always being afraid of Ara, if I couldn't ask how her days were. Mom and she always makes me comfortable when I lose my business. Though Ara and I are still romantic, plus we cherish our stories of childhood. She was so supportive of my business empire that I can't be more thankful to her than this. Oh yes! Our family is extending!" said Ehsaan.

However, Arhaan as a journalist might be a bit rustic. That's why he said "while going for a report for the protest, Sifa always used to call me for safety. At least she tries to change my mood when I get angry. One day, I was buying a furniture for my office, as well as photographing on the streets plus tapping on the phone for blogs, I met a rickshaw puller. He started to chatter about drunkard rights. He continuously chattered about how his son got rusticated by the village police, at the end he said 'we drunks want rights! Drunk is love! Drunkard rocks!' This guy was so awkward that I only paid half of the fees and ran away. Then, my wife gave me a kiss on the phone. I maybe frantic but, still remember when we were young we didn't come across that. Time flies, is it?"

George didn't have much to say. But his days as a detective does get off, his growth with it does set something more than a life-changing event. He shared his experience "I was assigned that a lot of women in a Euro village were vanished. I investigated a lot of clues such as a lipstick, a torn sari cloth and an undergarment with a fake business card that was left near the chairperson's house. Then, I talked to the police and found out that the chairperson, I mean a middle aged women trapped the other young maidens and tortures them to have intimacy. Finally, we arrested her, thanks to Sherlock and Byomkesh".

Ikkhon put pictures of Shehzad with his street food shop on the message. Everyone was awed, looking at the grownup Shehzad following the legacy of his father after he returned from Saudi Arabia. But Ikkhon said "I think, we all need to support his funds, as Uncle Sajed contributed all of us".

"I'll be back to Bangladesh tomorrow, as I've cut the tickets last month, it'll be awesome to meet you all. But we have to rebuild the legacy for him again" said Ehsaan.

"Same here" said George.

The rest agreed. But where was Hablu or should I say, Dr. Haroon Shikder Ohee? Without him, the neighborhood wouldn't be complete. Shehzad would be a lucky person, if everyone in the area funded him to renovate the shop. Something was incomplete.

The other day, everyone were happy to see Shehzad selling food. Until, Shehzad looked at them with a tears of joy. They've given a group hug. The person he looked for was more familiar than ever. He said "where is brother Hablu?"

He was behaving similarly when he asked about his own dad. Henceforth, Ehsaan tried to reach Hablu from social media, which he didn't open. Except from a photo-based media named Instagram, only had a video of himself recreating a meme plus his herbal medicine's advertisements, partnered with Fardeen and his wife and a photo of a cat. Also that, Hablu only had one follower who was no other than Mayesha.

Then Ehsaan texted 'Hablu, it's me Ehsaan, are you there? I think, Shehzad needs some funding. Please help'

He posted a photo in Hablu's social media inbox.

After an hour of funding the whole shop with their limited money, Shehzad was upset but controlled it by hiding his emotions. All of them said "it's all we've left with".

Shehzad, reminiscing about his father's values.

"It's okay, at least, you guys paid my dad's dues" said Shehzad.

Suddenly, a limousine stepped into the area. It was jet-black and shiny. A door was opened. The Musketeers, The Bad Boys and the Little Rascals saw a classy man with his wife coming in awe. Looking at the Musketeers, his familiar aspects jumped in, also with his wife.

"Hablu, is that you?" asked The Musketeers.

"Here I am!" said Hablu, the classy man.

Aah! What a relief! But only the girl gang should unite. Surprisingly, Sifa hoped out of Hablu's limo to shock her husband, whereas Safa was single forever. Anyway, the twins had a beautiful connection, so one sister can't live without the other. Lastly, Ara walked out of the car that surprised her own husband, Ehsaan along with the old lady, Humayrah.

"I knew that you'd go to Bangladesh to see the last of Altab Nagari, so we got Mayesha from instagram, along with Hablu. But there's one more surprise ahead" said Ara and the Girls.

Fardeen the pharmacist came with the similar outfit that Hablu wore with his own Mercedes car. He got out from the car and revealed "There's something more. We already gave Shehzad the rest of the funding".

Everyone went to the shop. It turned bigger than a cafeteria, more than what Anthony could offer. However Anthony arrived at the scene and made an offer to Shehzad to co-own his restaurant. Shehzad first refused but thinking about it, he said "I will do it but in one condition"

"What's the condition?" asked Anthony.

"As you can't run the restaurant alone, we both will run the cafeteria and the restaurant, plus your one will become a sister concern. Deal?" offered Shehzad.

Anthony agreed. They went to the abandoned mansion which was a bit broken, then renovated it into 'ALTAB MEMORIAL' by architects hired by Hablu. The statue was covered. Hablu called the public with the bigger microphone. Later on, Shehzad inaugurated a huge statue of Altab and Sajed, smiling and offering tea. It was made with a black stone ordered from the UK. Shehzad gave a speech:

'Hello Everyone,

Good to see you all to be present here. I want to say that, my grandfather and father contributed so much to this area that, we have fought against all evil or demons. However, my father used to tell me that 'even if you have dues, don't give up to make something big. First of all, tidy up your bed. If you feel ready, you're succeeded'. I was a wayward son but now, as I want to fulfill my father's dream, I came all the way from abroad. At first, I was numbed and lonely but if it weren't for my friends and family, where I grew up here, I wouldn't show my position! Be united, don't give up your success because it may come to handy. Also never underestimate your neighbors, they'll be needed someday, time, family and work, as well as faith is precious than ever. Knowing is nothing but experience is! Death is something deep but live your life to more of what you really want to know about-the fullest. I want to say thank you again.

At night, Ikkhon was performing at the theater. The Musketeers and the Girls, along with the 'Rascala' applauded his soliloquy in the form of a play 'Romeo and Juliet'. Everyone in the audience were filled with praise.

"Oh Juliet, I will die for you...

I loved you more than ever,

Because I'm a love failure'.

The performance was over and everyone walked out. Ikkhon said "So, guys, how my performance was?"

Hablu glared and said "SHUT UP, IKKHON!"

A lot of people were silent, numbed and thought that it was going to be the worst day ever. The tension arose and stood for a while. "Aah! I loved your performance! It's De La Grande Amour!!"

Everyone laughed and said "Yak! Yak!"

No matter how different we are, we are the same people. Childhood is so beautiful that, you can repeat the past but rectifying the mistakes. The world has full of wonders but never mix respect with ego, no matter what comes next. Every perspective here is new in every way. Friendship is priceless, because they're family too, especially when you grow together. Perhaps, blending both childishness and adult with a lot of positivity will turn into a success. There are so many stories to tell but some might be endless but this journey ends here...
